Eight: Old Friends

Athena and Destiny went into the home and Destiny looked around.

"This place is really nice." Destiny told Athena.

"Thank-you." Athena replied.

"Uncle Shawn told me you moved out to a small town, I didn't know it was this one and with three kids." Destiny said. "What happened to 'I'm getting forced to marry never having kid.' Changed your mind?"

"I got tired and John asked me to move here." Athena said.

"Oh, yes the honorary big brother, you have to tell me everything." Destiny said.

"You have to tell me everything too, we lost way too much contact, which really I think it might have been might fault," Athena said. "I tried to get out way to fast and I left a lot of things in the place I was leaving at."

"Well, I guess I didn't want to live in Uncle Shawn's shadow so I went into the café business, which is where I met my fiancé." Destiny said as Athena served the coffee and grabbed some of the sweets off the counter.

"That's nice."

"Of course I had to wait, he didn't want to get involved at first you know wit Jade." Destiny said.

"Yeah, I can guess." Athena said.

"They told me about the killers, they got a fancy on you." Destiny said.

"Yes, the leader did, he confused me with Jade." Athena sighed. "It was terrible; I was pregnant with the triplets when I got kidnapped."

"Seriously." Destiny said.

"Yes, I had no idea I was pregnant at the time though, so it was a shock after I got shot that the Doctor told Mark and I the news."

"That's really nice, after he came back from here, Steve and I got together." Destiny told her. They drank their coffee in silence for a while.

"I hope you like the town."

"I hope that too." Destiny told her. "Steve…."

"Hey, what's wrong?" Athena asked.

"I think I kind of pushed him to come here with me…No, I did push him to come here." She said and looked at Athena who seemed to be confused.

"He just wanted to send me here alone, I didn't allow that, I'm not a damsel in distress and I wasn't going to be bullied by a killer." Destiny told her.

"Destiny, he would have found a way to come back here sooner than later." Athena told her. "I think he's greatest fear is losing the woman he loves, again."

"I guess, but I still feel bad about it."

"Then talk to him, Steve is easy to talk to." Athena said.

"So, tell me about your husband, he seemed so different from you, I mean from what remembered of you before." Destiny said.

"Well, I met him thanks to Tombstone, he was in my garden and Mark was looking for him."

"Oh, what happened to Ted?" Destiny asked.

"I left him, he did find me, but I was already with Mark and we were dealing with the killer at the time, so trust me it was nice." Athena said.

'I'm glad you didn't marry him." Destiny told her.

"Me too." Athena said.

"So, what do you do now?" Destiny asked.

"I run a flower shop in town." she told her.

"So am I going to get a job, while I'm here?" Destiny asked.

"If you want too."

"I do, I can't handle not doing anything." Destiny told her.

"Whoa, hey Steve you're here already?" Randy asked.

"Hey, Orton, where's everyone?" Steve asked.

"Well Dave and Glenn had to check something out, Evan is in his lunch break and the boss is in the office." Randy said.

"I'll go to the back." Steve told him.

"Go ahead, man, the faster you two trap the son of a bitch the less we have to worry." Randy told him.

Mark was looking at the map trying to find out where the man could have gone.

"You know standing there will not make us find him any faster." Steve said and Mark turned around.

"You finally arrived." Mark said and he looked back to the map. "Trying to get into the bastards mind."

"Did you get any more information?" Steve asked.

"He's killed, four more people including the husband of his ex-wife, shot though the head." Mark told him.

"Damn." Steve said.

Lucius was currently standing in Steve's apartment and he broke the wall with his fists.

"I just missed you." He growled at no one. He looked around and touched the photo of Steve and his fiancé. "There is one place you would have gone too." he said to no one, but he needed to get to Death Valley.
