Author Note: Ok so I'm going to try to update at least three times a week. But i would really LOVE for a few reviews. I'm just curious as to if this is something I should continue. So it would be great if anybody out there can tell me. Thanks so much! I hope you all like it.
Two-Embry
Jake and Collin were already sitting in the front when I made my way outside. I didn't want to be around them. Jake was one of my best friends and I knew he would be able to see right through me. Thank God we weren't phased there would be no way I could hide this from any of the pack. It didn't make any sense. It had been years since the battle and we hardly ever phased anymore. Sure there was the occasional passerby but whoever was on patrol was able to handle one leech by themselves. This made no sense whatsoever, I wasn't supposed to imprint on anybody. Let alone an outsider.
And that's exactly what Mila was, an outsider. She was nothing like anybody else on the entire reservation. Her skin was the color of smooth milk chocolate, her eyes were light brown, and her lips were full. When she smiled it was really wide and you could see a light in her eyes. Well I saw alight even if it was for a few seconds. Leah slid in the car and Jake headed back to his place. Ava stayed just off the rez so they drive wasn't a long one. As soon as Jake stopped the car I jumped out and headed towards my house.
"Embry…Embry wait!" Leah yelled out after me. I slowed down but didn't stop walking. Leah fell right into step beside me. She was quiet which let me know she was going to have something to say soon.
"Em, did you im-"
"That's not any of your business Leah!" I cut her off before she could even ask me. I wasn't ready to talk about or accept this. Leah grabbed my shoulder and stopped me. She looked me dead in my face.
"It's ok if you did. Just because you imprinted doesn't mean you have to fall in love tomorrow. You just be whatever she needs be it a friend, brother, protector; whatever she needs your there for her. You know how this works. You've seen it enough," she said with a slight chuckle. Leah was right. I was the one of the last who hadn't imprinted. Unlike Brady and Colin I wasn't extremely worried about it. In fact if I could have gone my entire life without it I would have been fine. Leah gave me a pat on the back before turning around and heading back to her house.
I needed to run. I ran over to the woods to phase. As soon as my paws hit the ground I went full speed. Running always helped me to think. But there was nothing I could think of other than Mila. I was only around her for a few seconds but I couldn't get her face out of my mind. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. When I finally focused on where I was, I shook my head in disbelief. I was behind Ava's house. I could hear Ava and her husband Bryan in the kitchen laughing. Mila was still up in her room, putting everything together. She couldn't sing but that didn't stop her from belting out a song.
She walked past the window a few times before stopping suddenly. She turned to the window and leaned closer, as if she was looking for something. Her eyes slowly scanned left and right but then she stopped. She opened the window and stuck her head out. She smelled like flowers and slight cherries. She was halfway out the window before she suddenly stopped. She went back inside and laughed as she shut the window.
I turned around and headed back home. When I finally got there, I phased and grabbed the spare set of clothes I had hidden in a shed behind my house. When I walked on the back porch I could hear two voices laughing and the slight scrap of silverware on a plate.
"Embry, I made your favorite," s soft voice called out to me as I shut the door. The scent of vanilla and roast hit my nose. I put a smile on my face and walked into the kitchen. My mother sat at the table in the small nook to my left. "Here taste this," she said as she held a forkful of the food up. I smiled as I slowly chewed it up. Her green eyes lit up as she smiled.
"Your mom finally told me her secret recipe. And for dessert I made brownies!" she kissed my lips quickly before turning around and grabbing plates out the cabinet. This was another reason why I couldn't have imprinted on Mila. My girlfriend, Bree, turned and sat my plate on the table. It was topped with food of course. When I sat down my mother looked at me with concern in her eyes.
"How did the move go Embry?" Mom asked me.
"It went fine. We finished up pretty quickly," I told them shoveling food in my mouth.
"I asked Kim if she wanted me to have Brianna look out for the new girl at school tomorrow. But she said she didn't have an record of a new student starting at the school." Bree told us. This was weird; most of all the kids on the res went to school on the res. But for some reason Mila wouldn't be, which meant she would be going to school in Forks. That was the closet school to us. That was going to be a problem. If she was in Forks I couldn't keep an eye on her. That wasn't going to work at all.
"Sweetie, is everything alright?" Bree asked. She was gently rubbing my knuckles staring at me.
"I'm fine. I'm actually kind of tired. I'll see you tomorrow mom," I kissed her head before walking upstairs to my room. My mom thanked Bree for the meal and left. A few minutes later the bedroom door opened. Bree walked in and eased down in the bed next to me. She slid her leg over mine and started rubbing my chest.
"Embry…sweetie are you asleep," she whispered as she kissed my back. I kept my breathing even and slow. After a while of getting nothing from me, Bree sighed and rolled over. This wasn't good, wasn't good at all.
Please please please send me some reviews! I really want to know you guys think about this! Please and thank you
