A/N:Thanks CSIMentalistTLK lover and Gary2000 for the reviews. Yeah Jaali is loosening up. Thank you WTF123 for your help with the rewrite.
Jaali walked through the soft, grassy plains of his (possibly) future kingdom in absolute awe as the late afternoon turned to early dusk. He had been a Pride Lander for roughly a month now, and it wasn't until now that he could see his home in all of its glory. Kovu had told him before about how it takes a lot of time and energy to rule a magnificent kingdom such as this. But the golden brown cub's thoughts was once again interrupted. This time a small paw was nudging him. Jaali snapped his eyes up to stare into a pair of young, bright amber eyes giving him a stern look. A blush slowly crept across his face at the closeness from the princess.
"My mother is speaking. As a prince, you should pay attention."
Dreama was undoubtedly annoyed with her step brother, especially since he would keep on looking at her. But she couldn't help but blush at the thought of him looking at her with that kind of look. Kiara smiled lovingly at the two cubs before getting to the main purpose of their walk.
"I'm not sure how to break the news to you", She started. "But... I'm finally going to have another cub with Kovu."
Jaali wasn't surprised like the other two, seeing as though he had heard this before. But a new thought did cross his mind just then. He looked from the dirt ground up to Kiara, and cleared his throat. He tried to find a tone he could ask his question in so that he wouldn't accidentally offend the queen.
"Um... Queen Kiara? I, uh... thought you weren't able to have any more cubs?"
Kiara looked from Jaali to the sky and noticed then that the sun had started to set. The stars were beginning to show, and as she looked to them for a moment, she closed her eyes."I want to share with you something my father once told me. All the great kings of the past are up there..."
"Mommy what about the queens?" Dreama asked.
Kiara smiled brightly at her daughter. "The queens are up there, too. They're watching over us, and they'll be here for us when we feel lost. They're there to guide us."
Jaali looked up at the sky now. The multiple colors of the dusk were quickly changing to dark blue as the stars shone brightly, while the moon began to dominate the night sky. He watched as the tiny dots of light twinkled against the night sky. He wondered if the great kings and queens of the past are watching over him right at that very moment.

Nala never made it to Rafiki's tree. While she tried her best to get there, she collapsed nearby the gorge. She was virtually overwhelmed by the feelings that were going through that day, which was anniversary of the death of her beloved son. On top of her grief, she had finally told Kovu about it, and he acted as though he seen a ghost. She knew she had scarred the poor lion by telling him such a horrific tale. The ex-queen was knocked out of her thoughts by a strong gust of wind. She covered her eyes as dust swirled against her in the air, some of it getting in her eyes. Then as she began to rub her eyes, thunder suddenly roared, shocking her abruptly. But despite her expectations, no rain fell. And even more confusingly, she felt as though a cold presence came near her. Nala took her colorless paw off of her face and slowly moved her eyes up. There, she gasped. She saw standing right there in front of her was a lion. He had very light cream-colored, almost white, fur. His light brown mane blew in the wind as his glowing golden eyes stared down at her. Nala was both motionless and speechless, her eyes as wide as they could physically be.
"Who... Who are you?" She asked timidly.
The ghostly lion merely smiled at the old lioness. "Who I am is not important." He said in an echoey voice. "You will know when the time is right."
Nala was no doubt in a shock. Her heart nearly skipped a beat as it finally came to her: She was speaking with a spirit. All she could do was nod.
The spirit continued to speak."I have come to tell you that the king has witnessed something in his mind that has shaken him up."
Nala looked down for a moment before gasping. "He saw the attack..." She guessed.
The spirit lion nodded. "An image as though he were the victim. Nala... I have to go now, but be assured that we will meet again."
A large gust of wind blew by, and before the ex-queen's eyes, he disappeared. Feeling exhausted, Nala simply slumped her head to the ground in between her paws, and with a depressed sigh, Nala closed her eyes as her breathing evened. And while she slept, she didn't hear the soft voice of the spirit lion in the night's breeze.
"See you soon, grandmother."
