Love has many sides

I don't own any rights to anything but this story. Someone very dear to my heart asked if I could write them a story about mermaids. So I decided to write this and see how many people could or would enjoy a story like this one.

Chapter 12

Everyone was shocked and looked to Kim for conformation of Tommy's news. It was all Kim could do to keep sitting on the couch as she was getting more uncomfortable by the second. Finally Rocky spoke up and said "is that why that day when we first saw you back we couldn't find you?"

"Yes" said Kim "I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you but I didn't want you to worry about hanging out with me. I love spending time with you guys and I didn't want that to change because you were worried about hurting me."

"Kim" Jason said as he kneeled in front of her "we can't take preventive measures to make sure hurting you doesn't happen if we don't know."

"I know Jase" Kim replied

"Is there anything else that we should know about?" Jason asked

"No" replied Kim

"Well good" said Jason hugging Kim "No more secrets."

"No secrets" Kim repeated

During the next two weeks everyone continued to get together as often as they could. Tommy and Kim seemed to be always together and as the days passed Tommy felt sure that he and Kim would officially be a couple again and soon. They always seem to cuddle together, hold hands, and share in intimate moments when they were alone. It was everything that he could hope for. He had already had the talk with Katherine to confirm that his heart is truly with Kimberly and she would forever hold it. Katherine was truly happy for everyone, including herself as she started dating Jason, because it seemed like old times again. Also, she didn't want to be the one who would keep Tommy and Kim from being together, she loved them and wanted to see them happy. The night before their big adventure to SeaWorld the gang was back at Kim's place having another sleep over. Some were sittin on the couches and others were comfortable in their sleeping bags on the floor. They were all going to go the next day and spend the night in a hotel so that they wouldn't have to break up the mermaid reunion early. They wanted Kim to have some time with her other friends.

"So SeaWorld tomorrow?.." said Rocky

"Yea, I really can't wait. I am excited about seeing everyone and introducing you all to them" replied Kim. Tommy, who was sitting on the couch next to Kim, was just looking at Kim with love shining in his eyes. "I bet you will have a blast" he said.

Kim turned to face him and said "I hope so." She was about to continue but Tommy stopped her and said "When you meet up with everyone we are going to explore what they have there. We have all talked about it and we want to give you all some alone time with each other."

"Really?" Kim asked. Everyone started to nod their heads. "While I admit that I find this gathering tomorrow fascinating we do not want to make anyone uncomfortable since the only one out of the group coming that we know is you." Billy stated

"Besides, you told me a lot of things were untested" started Tommy "what if someone in the group has found out something new? You all would want to give that person your undivided attention."

The group talked and joked around for a few more hours until Kimberly fell asleep while cuddling with Tommy on the couch.

"Tommy" said Adam "maybe you should take Kim and go lay down in her room. She seems beat and we all have a busy day tomorrow."

Tommy agreeded with everyone and gently picked up Kim and carried her to bed. Once there he laid next to her and just watched her sleep for a little while before he too fell asleep. In the living room Tanya, Kat, Aisha, Jason, Rocky, and Adam were still sitting around the coffee table talking.

"Do you think Kim and Tommy are ever going to make it official and be completely back together?" asked Tanya

"I keep hoping so but something seems to be holding Kim back and I can't figure out what it is" added Jason

"Perhaps she is trying to make sure that she can have both a sea life and a human one. I mean overall we don't know how balanced her life was before we knew she was back " reasoned Adam. " She could have spent 99% of her time in the water. Maybe she is making sure that she can have the balance first."

"It would make sense" replied Kat. "I just thought it would not have taken this long with them."

"Me either" said Rocky

"I am just happy that they can be at this point right now" said Aisha. "I was really mad at first when I learned that she was back but had not told us. I was also worried too becuase I didn't want to see anyone hurt for any reason but it has been okay so far and everyone seems happy."

"Do you guys ever get the feeling sometimes like the other shoe is about to drop" questioned Jason

"Sometimes" said Adam "but honestly what could possibly happen?"

The others agreed and decided to call it a night as tomorrow they would have a busy day ahead of them and they all couldn't wait.

"Oh Tommy look at that" Kim said with all kinds of excitment in her voice. Tommy turned his head to the direction she was pointing and saw the dolphins swimming around. "They are so beautiful" Kim continued.

"I agree they are" said Tommy.

The rest of the gang showed up then and started telling them of the things that they have seen so far. It was during this time that Kim got the phone call about where to meet up with the mermaids. They wanted to meet alone first before meeting the others as they were not all that comfortable being so close to Angel Grove. Kim let the others know what was going on before she kissed Tommy bye and quickly left to join the others.

"So what do you think they are doing right now?" asked Rocky about a hour later

"I don't know but it would be so fascinating to be there with them" said Billy in a somewhat disappointed voice.

"Who ever would have guessed a few months ago that we would be here with our Kim at a mermaid reunion" joked Aisha

Tanya laughed and said "I know and just this morning I was so nervous about what to wear." Adam just laughed and gave her a disbeliving look. "What?" defended Tanya "I just wanna make sure that I make a good first impression when I do get to meet them."

Everyone laughed at that. "Guys, Kat and I are going to go and see the manatee's" said Jason.

"Lets all go" said Rocky. He had never been to SeaWorld before and he wanted to experience everything. Everyone laughed again and started toward the area that the manatee's were. They couldn't really see very much while looking down at the water so they all decided to go below and look through the glass and watch them that way. The area was deserted except for a woman probably in her mid 30's and her 4 year old daughter. The little blond hair blue eye child was watching all of the manatee's with such delight that the group couldn't help but match her excitment with their own. They walked over to the next wall of glass so that the little girl could still enjoy what she was seeing.

"I have always wanted to see a Manatee in real life" said Aisha

"Me too" agreed Tanya. They all just kind of stood and was in awe of these beautiful marine mammals. Tommy was the first to see this shimmer in the water. He spent a good minute or so trying to figure out what it was before the shimmer changed and he saw Kim. The mermaid Kim swimming toward the glass where he was at. At first he was confused as Kim had told him that she could become invisiable so that people wouldn't see her.

"What's wrong" asked Jase

"Kim. She is right there" Tommy said speaking in a soft tone as not to be overheard by the girl or her mother.

Jason looked couldn't see her. "Are you sure man?"

"Yea, I am looking right at her. She has her hands on the glass now right in front of me."

Jason still couldn't see her and for that Tommy was thankful. He wasn't sure why but he seemed to be the only one who could see Kim clearly. Kim seemed to sense this and she closed her eyes and kissed the glass in front of Tommy. Once she did that she opened her eyes and mouthed "I love you" to him. Tommy smiled back at her. He did want to say it back but he didn't want to draw attention to himself. The gang was all watching Tommy and what they assumed was Kim (as they couldn't see her) that no one noticed that the little girl walk up to the glass they were in front of. "Mommy look, its a mermaid" the girl said loudly. That seemed to get everyone's attention and it was all focused on the child.

"Don't be silly Daisy" the mom said "their is no such things as mermaids."

Daisy shook her head and said "she is right there mommy" pointing at Kim

"Daisy honey, I don't see anything" the mom said

"I am not making this up mommy" while the mom was shaking her head at her daughter and her wild imagination the child in frustration said the words that horrified Tommy the most. "I wish everyone could see her."

A single new flower showed up on Kims head and her and Tommy looked at each other in horror as they knew that someone who was pure of heart just made a wish to a mermaid and the magic in her was making it come true. Kim was exposed to everyone. As soon as the mom got over her shock she picked up her cell phone to report this. Aisha tried to make a grab for it but missed. When they all looked back at Kim they noticed that someone watching from the top must have noticed becuase now Kim was all tangled up in fish netting and there was people every where bringing her up. She was caught and trapped and they all knew it.
