A/N: New mini series...sorry, brain is all over the place! This one will probably be around 5 parts only, but yes...this is NEW! LOL

~Woke up from a dream

I saw you crying

Nothing I could do

And no use trying

Porcelain from the table

Is shattered on the floor

Once it left the station

Oh it can't stop anymore

Standing by the bedroom door

Staring at an empty face

I can see it in your eyes

Some things you can never change

Nothing else that I can do

While I'm waiting for the end to come

I know you're gonna walk away

But you should know that you're the only one

You're the only one~

It had been ten months since Lauren and Camila had been in the same room together. The last time had been a grueling matchup between the two, leaving Lauren completely heartbroken and in the dust. The younger brunette had brought up, every now and then, that she felt like she was in a relationship by herself, that she missed her girlfriend actually being around, but the older brunette, who was and still IS a workaholic, never actually thought their relationship would ever end. It happened one Saturday night, it was Camila's twenty-second birthday and Lauren was to be there, at THEIR house by 7pm, like she promised, and she's made these types of promises before and had broken them before, but THIS incident was the last straw for the brow-eyed beauty.

Lauren took a deep breath as she stared at her best friend's front door, you can do this, it's Normani's birthday, you can do this, do this for HER, she thought to herself reaching to press the doorbell, then hesitating...YOU CAN DO THIS.

~Came in from a cold

That cut like diamonds

Paint on every wall

But still I find them

Footprints on the floorboards

Lipstick on the sheets

Tell myself they faded

Don't we all just a little bit?

Standing by the bedroom door

Staring at an empty face

I can see it in your eyes

Some things you can never change

Nothing else that I can do

While I'm waiting for the end to come

I know you're gonna walk away

But you should know that you're the only one

You're the only one~

***Flashback***

Lauren walked into their home at around 1am, she was about six hours late, "Camz," she yelled as she closed the door behind her, flowers in hand...NO REPLY, she kept walking through the hall, dropping her briefcase, tossing her keys on the kitchen counter, "baaaabbbbbyyyy," she yelled through the hall making her way towards the stairs, "happy birthday beau-" she was stopped at the foot of the steps where there were two suitcases and her heart dropped to her stomach at the sight in front of her, a wrecked, fragile Camila, holding herself, tears streaming down her face, her posture mirrored that of a little girl who was broken, "Camz..." the porcelain skin beauty sat by the love of her life, wrapping her arms around her, kissing her forehead, she knew she messed up, everything went dark and she KNEW she messed up, "baby, I just-"

Camila stood up, standing next to the suitcases, turning her red, watery eyes to meet green ones, "I'm done Lauren, I'm done," she simply whispered between her sobs.

The green-eyed girl hastily stood up, closing the gap between them, wrapping her arms around the younger girl as she rested her shoulders on the petite brunette, "Camz..." she began to cry, and she knew this time was different, the feeling it sent through her, breaking her heart into pieces, she knew Camila was done, "I'm sorry, it's just work was insane today and baby I'm ssoo-"

Camila pushed Lauren off of her, her defeated brown eyes locking with sorry green ones, "it's always busy, it's always work," she whispered out, barely able to be heard, "you always choose work," she said through her sniffles as she picked up her suitcases.

"Camz.." the fair skin brunette jumped in front of the younger girl, falling to her knees, tears in her yes, "please...please," she looked up, locking with dark chocolate orbs, "please...I'm doing this for us, this life, all of this, it's for us," she wrapped her arms around Camila's body, her eyes still looking up, staring into an empty face and Lauren knew, some things you can never change.

The caramel skin beauty stepped around her making her way towards the door, "THIS life Lauren," she glanced around their home, which was nothing short of remarkable, "all this," she shook her head, her narrowed brown eyes meeting desperate emerald orbs, "it's not what I want...not this," and with those words, she walked out, closing the door behind her.

Lauren was on her knees, sobbing as her eyes continued to stare at the door, emptiness filling her entire body, her eyes tracing the steps that her heart made as she walked out, "...you're the only one," she let out as she continued to cry, rolling up into the fetal position, gripping herself tightly, letting a sea of tears fall out.

***End of Flashback***

Lauren knocked on the door lightly, it was so light she wasn't sure if anyone even heard it, a part of her wished they didn't. She pinched the bridge of her nose, her heart swelling from the pain, the nervousness taking over, it had been ten months and to Lauren, she had LOST the war, she had lost the love of her life. The last few months she found herself trying to recover, key word TRYING, she would find herself falling asleep, the last thing etched in her memory, dark brown locks falling on her face, brown orbs staring into her eyes while they flickered, the words 'I love you' being whispered out before luscious, full lips pressed onto her own, those same memories waking her from her quiet sleep every night, drenched in sweat, she couldn't just get over her, she didn't know if she ever would and EVERY NIGHT it was as if she was walking the midnight streets alone, every face she would see was all the same, caramel skin, long dark brown locks, brown eyes that held her still, even now, it was all the same. She exhaled slowly and took in another deep breath as her eyes remained closed, waiting for the door to open, but actually not wanting it to open. The memories began to flood her, she couldn't stop it, she still remembered the brown-eyed girl in her arms, laying on her body as they both watched the sun come up, rising too soon, at least for them it was too soon, they could've stayed on that balcony forever, waiting for the sun to come up and yes, it had been ten months, but she wasn't over HER. Everyone said that the hardest part was over with and that she would see the light at the end of the tunnel soon enough, but for Lauren that wasn't the case, she couldn't get over the younger brunette...every night, it was as if she was walking the midnight streets ALONE.

~CREAK~

The door slowly creaked open, breaking her from her memories.
