Hey guys the one year anniversary is here *bored yay* I haven't been feeling well as of late. But I am still alive so I will keep typing though updates may vary even more depending on what happens in my life. Anyway. Enough mushy sad stuff. You aren't here for that and I know that. But before we get to the story I had to give a very big shout out to an author. I had followed him by chapter nine of this story and I just found out that he has been following me longer than I have been following him. So I'd say this makes us even then author. Anyway his FFN name is "The Constitutionalist". A great author for Spyro. Speaking of which I know some of you who have read my profile are probably wondering about mine. It's in the works. I just need to finalize a few details and edit a few things. I can't promise much but it will hopefully be up in the coming months. Anyway let's get to the story. So if you are not afraid of what I may be like as a spyro writer than lower your expectations. It's all I am going to say.
I stared at him with anger slowly building inside me as I slowly raised my own fists ready for a fight as he laughed through the mask. "You think you can win?" He asked me as I merely glared at him observing his stance and getting ready to take the hits I knew I wouldn't block. As I looked on I noticed his footing was off, they were more open for an attack. (He's expecting an open attack or a takedown. He's smarter than he looks.) I thought before I made my way towards him slowly before I saw him fake a jab at me. In instinct I raised my arm up to block only to get a hard left hook to my right side making me step back to regain my bearings before I raised my fists again.
I slowly began to circle him before seeing the shadows on the walls started to look like a chanting crowd. "I know you and your move set Matt. You cannot win this time." He said making me sigh and get back into my stance. "That doesn't mean I'll go down easy." I replied seeing him smile in my direction before he sighed. "If I got to you before that flying wench I wouldn't be forced to do this." He said making me step back in slight shock still with my fists raised. "Well what's done is done. No real way to change it." I said making an attempt to keep him talking to prolong the oncoming fight. "You're right. But still, I have to do this. I've spent years planning something and I won't have you ruin it."
His words echoed in my head for a second before I saw that he had drew a sword. A long leaf blade coated with topaz as I sighed and put my hand out to my side and opened my hand. I waited for only a second before I felt a familiar grip land in my palm as I enclosed my fingers around the hilt of the sword I hadn't seen in a long time. Its slightly curved blade made me smile at it as I spun it a few times to get used to its weight again. Its pitch black blade with a ruby coated edge faintly glowing in the light of the hall. I sighed as I held the sword behind me slightly angled for a horizontal cut before I made my way towards him. The sword appearing to hum almost as if it could tell that it knew what was coming.
I swung the sword with a snap of my wrist attempting to cut into his neck before he parried the blow before elbowing me in the chest making me step back. I fought through the re-emerging pain as I changed my stance to a judo stance. The sword held in front of me angled slightly forward as I had my other hand held out to the side with my palm only slightly open. Again all I had to do was wait a second before a roman style tower shield was in my hand. I enclosed it before I crouched slightly so that my whole body was covered by the shield. Taking a chance I charged straight moving the shield slightly as I angled the sword to an appropriate position as I felt the shield hit something.
Taking this as an opportunity I moved the shield out of the way and threw a hard thrust at him seeing the tip sink into his chest. He let out a quick grunt of pain as I slowly thrust the sword deeper into his chest already knowing I'd pierced his heart. I sighed as he began to cough blood from his mouth, the floor already having a small puddle of blood around it as his grey shirt was beginning to get stained and drenched with his blood. I slowly shook my head and wrenched the blade from his body hearing him grunt in pain. "I know you can't die. So what I do is worthless but don't think for a second I asked to be chosen. Don't think I don't like some of the other legendary Pokémon and their champions."
My words must have fell on deaf ears as he just stayed motionless on the floor. A pool of blood slowly growing larger around him as I sighed and with a quick flick of my hands the sword and shield disappeared, as did the shadows on the walls. "Leone?" I heard a voice ask from down the hallway making me turn to look in that direction only to see a man in his mid-twenties with midnight black clothes and hair with bright blue eyes. "Yes?" I responded seeing him slowly start to walk towards me. "My son; I'm so sorry for what happened. I wish I could have done something to change it but I couldn't. I'm so sorry." He said making me realize who it was and when I realized what he had said I felt something inside me change.
I slowly walked towards him making him do the same. We were eventually face to face making me realize I was the same size while he was in his human form. "Dad?" I asked my voice cracking slightly as he only nodded and wrapped his arms around me embracing me as he put his head on my shoulder. "Yes son. It's me; you've grown up more than what I imagined. I'm so proud of you son." He said making me wrap my arms around him as well. "I'm sorry father." I said making him stop this embrace only to put his arms on my shoulders. "What happened?" He asked as I told him about everything that had occurred since I had arrived here. As I finished he looked down at the floor.
"I can't believe that. I finally get to spend time with my son and yet I will have to wait three months until I can talk to him again. I just can't believe that. Even after all you've done for them." He said making me smile slightly before I put my hand on his shoulder. "I know; I now feel the same way. I hope that when I do return that we can catch up on lost time." I said making him crack a small smile. "Alright; I'm holding you to that." He said with a small laugh as I smiled. I walked back towards my chambers in a lighter mood than I left it. As I walked I heard what sounded like someone was following me trying to be quiet. Pretending to ignore it I kept walking until something hard pierced my back.
I stumbled from the hit feeling like my back was on fire as I reached around only to feel my fingers clasp around a blade making my eyes widen as I faced the floor before I coughed up a mouthful of blood. I fell to my knees trying to pull the blade out of my back only for a voice to hit my ears. "Their punishment won't do. Your filth will never touch these pure halls ever again male human scum." I heard moltress say as I slowly began to lose feeling in my back. I didn't manage to move the blade as it was forced deeper into my back making me grunt in agony through clenched teeth as I saw the tip of a Viking era sword poking through my chest. My dark, crimson red blood running along the edge of the blade before dripping off at the tip, a dull high pitched sound echoed though the hall as my blood dripped.
I felt my arms fall to my side as I lost the energy to hold them up any longer. The feeling being lost in my back and torso now spreading to the arms and legs, I tried to breathe only to find that I couldn't muster the strength to. I felt the blade be roughly yanked out of me forcing me to lean back slightly before falling forward. My chest hiding the small pool of blood that had been created with a quiet splashing sound; My vision began to blur as I lie motionless trying to save my strength as I felt something warm and wet trickling out of my mouth. Realising what it was I slowly closed my eyes as I began to lose my hearing as well. The last thing I heard was the clashing of swords.
I don't know how long I was out of it. I kept going in and out of consciousness only getting a few bits of conversations or just movement. I eventually got the strength to open my eyes to stare at the ceiling of my living quarters. "What the hell?" I asked myself, my voice gruff from either lack of use over time or overuse recently. I tried to sit up only to have my arms scream in protest. I fell back clenching my teeth trying to ignore the pain in my arms as I gathered my bearings. I calmed down as the pain receded to almost nothing. I decided to just stay still in case of an unwanted guest coming in. I waited for only half a minute before I heard the door open followed by footsteps.
I had my eyes barely open so that I could see the being that entered the room without them knowing that I was awake. I waited focusing on keeping my breathing steady until I nearly jolted from a hand that was placed on my stomach before I felt weight being added to the right side indicating that the being had sat down. I wanted to find out who it was but I remained still to remain alive if it was an enemy, however I didn't need to as the being spoke. "I'm so sorry Leone. Or Matthew, I don't even know anymore. I never should have done what I did. If I didn't," the voice said making me realize it was Chains. I opened my eyes fully to look at Chains with a small smile on my face before I caught her expression.
It was a look of deep depression as she looked at the floor. I saw her eyes that held no light begin to glisten like she was ready to burst into tears. (It doesn't take a genius to figure out that she blames herself for what happened. She also was dragged into this whole situation. She doesn't deserve to feel like this.) I thought as I watched her eyes close before she stood up with her eyes still glued to the floor. "I'm sorry; I can't handle or take this anymore. Forgive me." She whispered out making me have to hold in a gasp realising what she meant. "Don't even think about it." I grunted out, making her whip around to face me with tears streaming down her face as she stared at me.
I stared at her face as she stared back with tears still streaming down her face as I slowly smiled at her before I continued. "Don't, because you help me here. And you are meant to be alive. Those eyes and the mark on your neck symbolize that you are needed here. It is merely a trial to see if you can do it. I wouldn't have any other being fight by my side with this power Chains." I finished making her crack a small smile at my words as she slowly walked over to me before she embraced me fully. She then began to break down onto my shoulder as I held her still while slowly rubbing her back gently. "Chains look at me." I whispered as she turned to face me. "You are meant to be alive. I know it seems other wise but look at what you have done before this. You have helped possibally hundreds if not thousands. Don't let what happens to me stop you from achieving what you want to do."
My words affected her more than I thought as she nodded smiling sadly at me as she stared into my eyes. "Matthew, Leone, whatever your name is. I don't understand what's going on anymore. How can I help others if everything is being kept a secret from me? How am I supposed to help my liege if she hides everything from me?" She asked making me lose the smale smile on my face to be replaced with a somber frown. As I began to open my mouth to respond to her the door opened again and Moltress stepped in. Not taking any chances I held my arm out to the side with my palm open and the sword re-apeared in my hand as I enclosed my fingers around the grip.
I slowly began to move to stand up trying to ignore the building agony that was erupting from my muscles as Moltress reached to her waist where a Viking era sword resided. I stared at her narrowing my eyes as I adopted a judo stance again. I watched as she slowly drew her sword holding it slightly to the side of her with it angled to cover her chest. I smirked as I spoke through clenched teeth. "Ladies first. Or would you prefer to meet the same fate as Giratina?" I asked making her eyes widen as she faultered her stance slightly. Using this to my advantage I rushed at her with the sword held in a classic thrust position as she slowly turned to the side avoiding the main thrust to early.
Using her sensitive reflexes to my advantage I changed the direction of the thrust impacting her in her right side barely avoiding anything vital as I rammed the sword into her side seeing her eyes widen. "You know I can't do anything to really hurt you. So I don't even know why I bother other than to defend myself. You realize know that if you poke the dog long enough the dog with repay you in kind with the only thing it can. So don't test me any longer. I've just about had it with people like you; I dealt with it in Black city I won't deal with it here. Insult me verbally all you want. But take another stab at my life and trying to end it and you will end up worst off. This is my final warning this time."
My words made her eyes widen more to the point of where I thought they were going to pop out of her head as I looked to the floor. I slowly began to withdraw the blade seeing her eyes contort in both pain and fear as I put my foot on her side and used it as leverage to pull the rest of the blade out quickly hearing her let out a quick grunt of pain. She then began to slowly sway before she fell onto her back. A small pool of blood forming underneath her as I slowly relaxed. I sighed as I wathed the pool grow larger before I turned my back to her looking at Chains. "I guess I have to say something dramatic or sad now since I do have to leave."
My words made her look up at me with a small fear in her eyes. "I know that this may feel like the end but please remember the fact that I will return one day. I wouldn't stop a prophecy from occuring but maybe it knew of something like this. Maybe it's not me the prophecy speaks of. But you Chains. You might be this choosen one. That vision of yours, the one where I was being tormented and tortured, it will eventually happen. The best we can do is delay it. And on a side note. I don't mind if you call me either Matthew or Leone." I finished seeing her eyes widen in disbelief before she rapidle shook her head in disbelief.
"No, that can't be the reason. There has to be another way that this can be looked at. You have done more than all of the champions here. You eliminated most of team magma. You helped so many others and yet this is how they repay you? If that is how heroic actions are treated then we will all be meeting the same fate." She said making me lower my head with a small smile playing at my lips. "We all know what Leone has done and we also know why he has done some of the more questionable things. But the fact does remain that he has indeed helped our cause more than anything or anyone else. As such the punishment has just been revoked. You are to just remain here for your original time sentence."
I snapped my head towards the doorway and sure enough I saw Arceus standing there with Zekrom at her side. "Seems more like a punishment to Moltress if you ask me." I said making Zekrom crack a small smile as I smirked back before hearing a gasp followed by a quick, deep breathing. I lost my smirk as I turned back around to face a livid looking moltress. "Really?" I asked before I had to lean back to avoid a quick swipe at my face making me sigh again, this time in anger. "You really must like being put down." I remarked summoning the shield hearing Arceus gasp and Zekrom inhale sharply. "Shut up human. I will not take anything from you." Moltress spat.
I sighed as I relaxed my hold on the shield, before being blinded by a pitch black glow which seemed to remake the shield. As the glow faded I was shocked to see that it had turned into a buckler that was wide enough in diameter to cover my heart. The shield design itself had turned an onyx black or grey as I saw Moltress look at the buckler with a growing fear in her eyes. "I guess what you were saying was the truth Arceus. I am more connected here than I previously imagined." I said making Moltress snap her head towards Arceus. "So be it then." I murmured before spinning the sword in a circle coming to rest pointing towards the floor; "Let's begin. Shall we?"
My question only received a small gulp from Moltress before I quickly raised the sword so that it touched under her chin. "Great mother of earth, water, fire and air. I am contacting you on this sorrowful day because it marks a passing of great importance. All I ask is that the soul that reaches you to be trailed fairly and evenly with the other souls that are meeting you." I said as she slowly widened her eyes in fear as the sword I held began to glow a dark red before turning into an ice white. "Goodbye, young one." I finished before I thrust the sword forward easily splitting her skin. I sighed as I quickly retracted the blade, hearing the blade almost hum with contempt at the crime it had just committed.
"Kuirikara; you never fail to amaze me." I murmured before I felt a hard punch hit me in the centre of my back making me stumble before I whipped around to stare at the other two legendary birds. "You will pay for your insolence. She was right, you are like the rest of them, a dirty, thieving, monster born from hell only to be put on earth to cause misery for the rest of the races there. Don't come back." I saw Articuno speak while Zapdos looked at Moltress. I sighed as I spun the sword in a full circle before holding at my side angled towards the floor. "Fine. You win this one. But think about it. She can't really die, she'll awake within an hour at the minimal time limit, and the max is a week. So you can never really die. But alright I'll leave. But what he said was right. And we all know which he I am talking about."
My last sentences made Zekrom stiffen as I walked up to him and rested hand on his shoulder. "It was great to at least see you for the time it has been. I guess I should start praying to you then. Heck that is going to take a while." I said making him let out a small laugh before he put his hand on my shoulder to stare into my eyes as he nodded. "I'll see you soon. Count on it son." He said making me nod before I replied. "I still need to get used to that." I followed it up with a laugh making him chuckle as well before we both took shook hands a final time. Before I began stepping down the hall with the sword now slightly shaking in my grip as I fought to maintain myself.
I reached the main hall before I opened the doors feeling eyes following me making me sigh in both anger and sadness as I walked into the middle of the room before I knelt down on my knees before sitting down on my legs with my head hung low and the sword sitting across my lap. I felt myself begin to be transferred somewhere. Where I did not know but I only hoped that it wouldn't be Black city. (I've seen enough of that city to last me a lifetime. Plus I'm a vigilante there. I'm going to have to go into hiding.) I thought before I closed my eyes and let the transportation take me to the destination. When I opened my eyes again I was greeted with only the sound of leaves and grass moving in a gentle breeze.
I looked around me with my hand tightening on the sword before I heard something approaching fast through the bushes. (Four legs, wild Pokémon, possibly an Eeveeloution as best case scenario. Worst case is a fire type.) I thought before I quickly rolled back away from the sound before standing up with the sword held in front of me waiting for something to appear. I waited as the footfalls got closer until I heard two voices. Both sounded panicked. (Or the third option is two humans.) I thought as they burst through the bushes in front of me before stopping dead eyeing the sword. One of them was a woman with pitch black hair and bright blue eyes while the other was a male with red hair and eyes.
"Can I help you?" I asked them already suspicious of their attire. "We are being hunted. We can't say by whom, but they're faster than mostly anything." The female said and I immediately recognised the voice. "Very funny Darkrai. How long did you expect it to work? And I presume the male is Groudon. You can't really hide anything from me." I said seeing their eyes widen in surprise before they smiled. "Very smart. But did I answer your question Matthew?" Darkrai asked making me smirk remembering the question. "Yes you did. But I already knew. I just wanted to see it in action. Tell me what you felt during that time. It must have been either very sad or painful depending on how I felt at the time."
My words made her snarl at me before she vanished in a cloud of black smoke. 'Leone my son, picture everything around you, now focus on the shadows. And tell me what you see' I heard in my mind making me step back in mild shock before I did as the voice said before I jumped into the air barely avoiding a shadow ball aimed at my back. "Lucky miss." Darkrai hissed out before I dropped the sword. "Stop." I said making her eyes widen in surprise. "What did you just say?" She said making me smirk. "I'm no longer a champion. So your plan is free to act. But they already know of what's coming. I have my ways of finding out." I said before I turned my back to them and walked into the dense forest.
I walked for a while before coming to a stop in front of a house that I felt familiar with. (Why does this place feel so familiar?) I thought only to hear the voice again. 'It's the place where you spent the first few years of your life. You grew up here with your mother. Your true mother until she passed away. So I put you in the care of your adoptive family.' It spoke making me widen my eyes in shock as I slowly gripped the handle before opening it fully before stepping inside. The darkness felt comfortable but also eerie as I sighed and made another flame lighting up the area around me before I head something dart away from the light. 'Watch yourself son, this thing might not remember you.'
I froze stiff at those words knowing that this thing could be a predator making me sigh and decided to engulf my whole right hand in flames. The fire warmed the skin but didn't burn it as I walked forward slightly holding my flame covered hand higher in the air to get as much light around me as possible before I saw a golden tail disappear into the darkness. (A ninetails. That doesn't make sense. A fire type scared of their element is unnatural.) I thought before I heard the voice in my head again. 'We never trained her to be a fighter. We wanted to be a peaceful family whenever we could. It worked for a while until I had to leave to return to my side of the conflict between male and female legendary Pokémon.'
The voice made me swallow whatever fear i had to speak as calmly as I could. "It's okay young one. I'm not here to cause trouble. I am merely finding a place to stay for the night. If that is alright with you of course." I spoke with my voice remaining calm as the ninetails showed its face into the light making me gasp internally. Its face was the normal blonde golden colour but the eyes were the ice blue of a shiny ninetails. "How did you find this place? I have guarded it for eighteen years under my last owner's wishes so that his bloodline could return and take it." She said making my eyes widen in shock as I leaned back slightly. "Was it Zekrom and a human woman and a half breed son? Are they who you are talking about?"
My words made the ninetails bare her teeth at me. "How do you know?" She asked making my sigh and relax. "Because," I began before I swallowed to contain my emotions. "I'm the child that Zekrom gave birth to. I am the same Leone that was in this house those years ago." I said before I lowered my head hearing something slowly walking closer until a bright silver tail lifted my chin up to look at her. "Leone? I can't believe it. I thought I'd never see you again." She said as the nuzzled into my left cheek softly with a small hum escaping her. I sighed and stood up. "Let's get to work lighting this place up to make it feel like home." I said seeing her nod before we began.
We finished as the sun was beginning to set making me almost yawn as the exhaustion finally hit me. I sighed as I sat down on the floor feeling the fire warm up the room pretty quickly before the ninetails returned with a pillow in her maw. "You might as well get comfortable. This fire will heat up this room fast but the rest of the house is going to take a while." The ninetails said as she dropped the pillow next to my head before I used my arms as a makeshift pillow. "You waited for me. The best I can do is let you get comfortable. I'm used to sleeping like this anyway." I said making the ninetails look at me with a mild shock before she nodded slowly and curled up next to me before falling asleep, me following soon after.
Another Chapter is at its end. And I can only say a huge thank you to the ones that stuck with it this long. I wouldn't be updating if you guys didn't review or pm me. Because you guys are making this happen. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't upload these chapters eventually but I won't have the enthusiasm to get them out like I have been. Anyway next chapter may take a while because I would like your opinion on this story again. Long-time followers will remember the other time and it is a fan base decision. You don't participate and no one else does then no chapter for a while until someone does. So I have a few options so here we go.
Such options are.
A) Zekrom goes rogue to be with Leone.
B) Leone is now a vigilante but does it in a way that helps the legendary Pokémon.
C) Leone slowly goes down the dark road of depression and this story ends in two or three more chapters due to a suicide ending.
D) Chains finds him soon enough and smuggles him back into the hall putting both of them at risk.
E) Chains finds him eventually and decides to go rogue to be with Leone.
F) Leone becomes an enemy to the legendary Pokémon and makes it his vendetta to join the renegades in their plan which will be revealed later on.
You have your options. I will wait for the answers to be collected and voted upon. As usual the one with the highest vote wins so if yours didn't get chosen I'm sorry. Maybe I'll do alternate endings when this is finished and I have the time to do something like that. So as always. Enjoy life to the fullest that you can Readers. Because I know from experience that if you ignore the fullest potential in life then you won't even want to live it. I speak from personal experience and seeing whatever amount of childhood friends I had go down that road. I became a writer originally to escape the grief of reality by escaping into my mind in a safe way.
But this site, you guys. Have given so much more than just an escape. The feedback has always been both constructive and positive. I never really receive any negative feedback along similar lines of "Go kill yourself, it was a waste of my time." I rarely receive that and I only received that when I put up an update saying that I couldn't update much due to a personal issue. But I accepted that and began to improve slowly. I eventually got calmer to the point to where I can actually share a laugh with the remainder of my friends and not a forced laugh that I had to do to feel like I fitted in. And I have you guys to thank for that. So my thanks go to each and every one of you that reads this through to the end. Also a poll will be on my profile page.
I've gotten people asking me as to why this isn't like the other champion stories (Lemons, harems etcetera) and the reason is because I never really felt comfortable writing that sort of stuff. But still you guys kept demanding it. So I decided that, against my better judgement. When this story is completed I will do another story which is basically all the main characters in this, in a cliché romance setting. As that way I can get everyone off my back about if I don't do it they will try and find me so now you have my definitive answer. I will eventually depending on how this story goes. So if C is the main option then maybe I'll do the side story. Other than that if I have the required time to get ready to write that sort of thing in advance I can usually get ready for it sooner rather than later so springing it now would be the most optimal idea.
So until next time readers; I hope you all have a "happy as you can get" day and if you don't. Just remember that the reason that the ones making your life that way are only doing it for their own ego. Act that it hurts you yet laugh it off with either friends or family when they aren't around. I know how hard that can be trust me on that. But you are more important than them and they realize that so they want to put you down so that you can never be important to anyone. I know that it seems weird coming from someone like me but if you are reading this and having a hard time. I will offer advice in either PM or in a review response just be sure to put either advice as the subject in the pm or SWC-advice in a review so that I know that I can help you readers and help repay what you have helped me with.
