Chapter 36: All The Good Heavens Have Evil Shadows

The next day, Lucy and Sting had decided to start off their morning at a coffee shop with two large cups of hot chocolate. Their delicious drinks of sweetness were also filled with large swirls of white whip cream to add a nice taste to the hot chocolate, and this was the best way for Lucy and Sting to spend this calm morning. The white dragon slayer had filled his girlfriend in on everything that had happened yesterday, and Sting really knew that they were getting closer to solving the mystery of the strange spell book.

Darcy had told Sting and the other members of his group in the tower about how Thorn's dark plan involved the spell book, and the rude demon of Darkness Magic had let the Sabertooth mages know that they had to head to a place called the Laverre Ruins, the place where a demon named Valerie used to live, and this place was very strong to Heavenly Body Magic. It definitely made sense for Sting and Lucy to head there, since that type of magic was represented in the spell book by making it turn pink, and this was the seventh type of magic in the book.

Lucy could not believe that the seventh set of fusion spells would soon be in her book, and brown-eyed girl smiled happily while taking a look back at how far she had come. She had unknowingly gotten the seventh type from Karen smudging the book with pink paint from a portrait of constellations in the night sky, and that had taken place in an art gallery of the main museum in the city of Crocus. That had taken place on the third day of the Grand Magic Games, and Lucy had also used the Heavenly Body Magic in a park when the third day of the competition had ended.

She had used the first four spells of the pink magic on that day, and Lucy had used the other four moves of Heavenly Body Magic in her battle with Sting against Natsu and Erza. That type of magic did work with the stars and meteors, but it also had the ability of creating distortions in space while also being pretty explosive. Heavenly Body Magic was also the final seal that needed to be removed on the book, as well as having the perfume spill into the book for it to turn black, and that had caused Thorn to be fully awakened.

It was not the blonde mage's fault, since she did not even know that Thorn's dark power could be unleashed with the removal of the Seven Elements of Purity, and Lucy could only blame Natsu for really being the one to cause Thorn's frightening awakening in the battle. If he had not knocked the book and the perfume out of her hands, with the dreadful sight of the perfume spilling the shadowy liquid into the book, Thorn never would have fully been awakened. Lucy would still have seven types of magic and perfume with a good scent, had Erza's partner in the tag-team battle been anyone other than Natsu, and that would've kept things pretty fair.

Sting told Lucy in a confident tone of voice, rubbing her left hand with his left hand while he smirked in a delighted manner about the task for today, "All right, Lucy. I've already informed Rogue and the others about the Laverre Ruins, and I did some checking around about them. They are located east of Nimbasa Town, and these ruins won't have you worried in any way. They aren't filled with a bunch of traps or any scary monsters, and these ruins have kind of been abandoned for many centuries now. I may not be an archaeologist, but there could be some good treasure in the ruins."

Lucy replied happily while blushing a light shade of pink, happy that there would not be any dangers within the Laverre Ruins, "These ruins are supposedly filled with the aura of the heavens, and that's really good. You told me how the ghostly atmosphere and the presence of spirits had caused Darcy to come out because she seemed to like the high about of Darkness Magic in the air, so it's possible that we might hear from the demon named Valerie in the ruins. She may be physically dead, but her aura has to be in the ruins. After all, it's highly possible that the spell book will react to sensing cosmic power."

The blonde mage had joy in her cocoa brown eyes while realizing that the color pink did tend to represent things like love and happiness, and Lucy could only drink her hot chocolate while enjoying the fact that it tasted so delicious. She could also taste the sugary delight of the white whip cream, enjoying how sweet it was, and Lucy had to wonder if this was a good sign of her book beginning to reveal the biggest mystery surrounding it. Lucy still did not know why Karen had given her the spell book, since Darcy had said how Thorn was going to use the book for ultimate power, and Lucy also had to wonder how a deceased mage could try to rule the world.

There was still one crucial piece that Sting and Lucy were really missing, the key that would make them either want to complete the book or destroy it, but what was that piece? Unknown to Lucy and Sting, the book could actually not be destroyed because of one of the curses that Thorn had put on it. It was true that Zeref had gained immortality, and Thorn could have easily done the same with her vast amount of spells. However, she was also aware that someone would eventually snitch about her spells to Fairy Tail. To not give away any full spoilers, Thorn had made the book become immortal while also cursing it to alter the spells for changing times.

She had known very well that a new wielder of the book would come along, and that would be the perfect time for her to be fully resurrected. Thanks to Lucy gaining many auras and different types of magic from different sources, as well as her creativity with making spells, Thorn was definitely becoming equipped with a pretty good arsenal of moves to use. Of course, she could also make her own spells as a way of showing off her own high level of power. Karen had been searching for the right body for Thorn to inhabit, when that time would come, and Lucy was definitely perfect for the plan to really be complete.

After drinking down his hot chocolate, Sting smiled a bit while seeing his girlfriend quickly finish the rest of her delicious drink. Lucy may have had some whip cream on her lips, but Sting could see that his girlfriend was really psyched up about getting more info from the seventh type of magic. It had a pretty high chance of giving the Sabertooth mages some clues about what they really needed to know, but Darcy had also given them a pretty useful clue about what the end result could be. If the types of magic were suddenly getting to have fusion effects, wouldn't that mean Thorn had to fuse her darkness into a light soul like Lucy's for her to have control?

The brown-eyed girl had not really thought about the fusion spells in that kind of way, but anything weird like that definitely had to be a pretty big sign for something. If the past six types of magic had gained fusion spells, which they did, then that only meant that some emphasis to the subject of Lucy and Thorn was being repeated for a pretty good reason. Lucy and Sting had both gotten up from the table, paying for their drinks, and Sting kissed Lucy's lips nicely while wrapping his arms around her waist to let her know that everything was definitely going to be okay. No matter what info they found in ruins, Sting let Lucy know that she was not going to be evil in any way.

The two mages exited the coffee shop while holding hands, smiling at each other while they headed straight for the Laverre Ruins, and Sting blushed a bit while feeling Lucy rest her head on his right shoulder. He enjoyed her scent of strawberries and vanilla, and the blond male smirked a bit while liking how Lucy wore a cute pink midriff T-shirt with a light pink miniskirt and some cherry red flat shoes to match. He honestly thought that Lucy looked really hot when she wore red and pink, two colors that went pretty well with a beautiful woman such as herself.

At the Fairy Tail guild...

Speaking of beautiful women, Mira and Lisanna had come back to the guild of Fairy Tail with stern looks on their faces. Lisanna had told Mirajane about how Suna informed her that she was hired by Thorn to try and kill her, before actually being stabbed in the back by that two-faced demon, and the dragon slayer of Earth Magic had put healing properties for her to save Lisanna's life. After all, with Thorn and Karen totally betraying her like that, who else could Suna turn to? She also had heard that Lucy Heartfilia, the person who beat down an elite like herself, was part of Fairy Tail. Therefore, Suna passed on her crucial theory to Lisanna.

The younger Strauss sister narrowed her blue eyes while looking around in the guildhall, not seeing Thorn anywhere right now, but Lisanna also knew that the violet-haired girl had a tendency to hide in the shadows. She could have gone out on a job somewhere, but Lisanna had looked a bit surprised to see Natsu sitting at a table all by himself. He did have red lipstick marks on his face, so Thorn had gotten down to kissing him. She had been charming him with her manipulative ways, making Natsu, feel so good, and he sighed happily before drinking a bottle of Coca-Cola that was on the table.

Lisanna's facial expression continued to stay stern while she walked over to the table where Natsu was sitting, but the pink blush on his face made his ex-girlfriend get the idea that Natsu was now in love with Thorn. Lisanna remembered how Thorn had seemed very interested in him when she first arrived in Fairy Tail, something that most people who knew Natsu would say was a strange move on Thorn's part, and Suna's information about how Thorn had tried to kill her could only make Lisanna assume that she was only using Natsu to get closer to something that she wanted to get her hands on.

She knew how stubborn Natsu could be when someone would try to tell him that he was wrong or that his new girlfriend was nothing more than a two-faced demon who gained his love through lies, and there was no way that Lisanna could just flat out tell Natsu about what had happened to her. Suna had been waiting on the other side of the guildhall with Evergreen and Elfman, preparing to intervene in Lisanna's talk with her ex if the situation called for her to step in, but Thorn's absence and Natsu's happiness were not the only troubling things that currently went on in the guild of Fairy Tail.

Mirajane had looked around to see that everything seemed okay, but Makarov and Laxus were both drinking at the bar while Levy had served the drinks to them. The blue-haired smart girl was not exactly the type of person who would be a barmaid, and Mira had always left that job with Cana. The brown-haired woman was nowhere to be seen in the guild right now, which surprised Mira while she knew that Cana would never miss a day away from the guild, and she quickly strode up to the bar while smiling to politely ask Levy for some information.

The white-haired woman asked her friend in a calm manner, having a friendly look in her blue eyes, "Hi, Levy! If you don't mind me asking, where has Cana gone off to? Shouldn't she be running the bar right now, or did she pass out from having too many drinks of booze?"

Levy replied nicely while frowning a bit as she wiped a beer mug with a rag, having a pretty worried look in her hazel eyes, "I fear that she has suffered the same frosty fate as Erza, or a poisonous fate like Juvia did yesterday. After you left, Cana came to the guild with what looked to be a lifelike ice statue of Erza. However, it was the real thing. Cana couldn't tell me who did it, and she looked pretty frightened as well. Then, on the next day, I had stamped a job for Juvia to go look for something in Fuchsia Swamp. After Thorn suspiciously returned, Gajeel let me know that she reeked of poison. We went to the swamp, and found Juvia near death. I managed to look up a potion that would get rid of the poison in Juvia's body, and she's resting right now with Gray watching over her. However, neither Thorn or Cana came back since yesterday. Cana disappeared at some point yesterday morning, and I'm getting worried. I just hope that Thorn didn't go after Cana, or anyone else."

Mira angrily clenched her fists while turning around to look at the guild's closed entrance doors for any sign of Thorn, and the older Strauss sister was ready to confront that demonic witch for being so incredibly bloodthirsty. It was one thing to try and kill Mira's siblings, which Thorn was lucky about the fact that neither one was killed, but now Thorn was going after other members in Fairy Tail? Mira knew that Erza and Juvia could be kind of strange and intolerable at times, but getting pissed off at their quirks would be no real reason for Thorn to kill them. Also, Cana could never do anything wrong to try and irritate someone. Whatever Thorn's motives were for freezing Erza and poisoning Juvia, they certainly weren't good.

Erza had been sitting down at a table while looking perfectly fine in her Heart Kreuz Armor while she drank a hot cappuccino, but her legs still shivered from the coldness of the ice that Thorn had used to put the freeze on the scarlet-haired mage. Erza had not gained back most of her magical power yesterday, due to Thorn's ice having the strange side effect of numbing her energy, but Levy had given her some bubbling hot sugary tea that had a special medicine in it to help her get back all of her magical energy. Jellal had also sat across from Erza, having heard her tell him what Thorn had done, and the azure-haired man looked deep in thought while wondering how to stop such a malicious woman.

While Mira was waiting for Thorn to show up at the Fairy Tail guild, Gray had sat on a stool by Juvia's bedside in the infirmary. He looked pretty angry while punching a wall, upset with the fact that Thorn had decided to go after someone who was so innocent and did not even know a single detail of her plans to take over Lucy's body, and the ice mage was also mad at himself for fleeing from Thorn back in Hakutai Town. He had actually been wishing that his strength was up to par with hers when they had fought, but that black-haired witch was in a completely different league.

Gray had also flashed back to the day when Juvia had been hurt by the sinister attacks from Darcy Homika, a girl who looked like Lucy while wielding Darkness Magic, and the black-haired male had wanted to make sure that his friend would never go through anything like that ever again. Juvia had not even asked Gray to go with her, possibly due to the fact that she did not want him to be hurt from the toxicity in the Fuchsia Swamp, but who would've thought that an easy job to get a treasure chest would turn into something so deadly?

He could see that the color of Juvia's skin had changed from being pale to being fair, and her arms had also turned back to their regular color. They were no longer purple, a sign that Levy's potion had truly worked, but the Poison Magic had been paired with the nightmarish effects of Darkness Magic. Juvia tossed and turned in her sleep while looking scared, almost like she was having a pretty bad nightmare about something, and Gray had a curious facial expression while wondering if Thorn was Juvia's attacker. There was no clear proof to say it actually was her, but some people could reveal quite a lot when they talked in their sleep.

Gajeel had also been in the infirmary while standing near a bed that was close by, and he actually was worried about Juvia. After all, they were once in the same guild known as Phantom Lord. He had not told Gray about the good nose of a dragon slayer, since there actually was no proof that Thorn had bruised up Juvia so badly while poisoning her, but the iron dragon slayer narrowed his eyes while he could still recall how Thorn reeked of poison when she returned to the guild to take Natsu out on a date somewhere. Natsu had come back later from a table's shadow, but Thorn had seemed suspiciously busy to be absent for the rest of the entire day.

Juvia mumbled in her sleep while she tossed and turned, shuddering in fear as she looked like her opponent was pretty malicious, "That's so vicious... Please stop trying to fill Juvia with poison, Thorn-sama... It's not right for you to try and interrupt Juvia's wedding, especially after Gray-sama proposed to her when he saw the cake that was made to look just like his face.."

Much to the surprise of Gray and Gajeel, Juvia rolled off the bed and landed on her stomach. She slowly opened her eyes to see that the nightmare was now over with, since she had been brought back to reality, and the Rain Woman noticed that both of the men in the room had serious glares on their faces while they had heard what they needed to know from Juvia. Thorn was the one who had attacked her at Fuchsia Swamp, making her become very bruised as well as being poisoned, and she was definitely not a mage with a good heart in a light guild like Fairy Tail.

Elsewhere, at the Laverre Ruins...

Sting and Lucy had finally arrived at the Laverre Ruins, after going through Nimbasa Town while taking the eastern route afterwards to reach their destination, and they saw Rogue, Rufus, Yukino, Frosch, Lector, Happy, Carla, and Wendy standing outside of the wide entrance to the ruins. It's not like they had all been waiting for forty-five minutes to see Lucy and Sting get here, since the white dragon slayer had told Rogue that he wanted him to inspect the place to make sure that there were no thieves inside who would give them any trouble, and the shadow dragon slayer had indeed done his job.

Since there was nothing to really be worried about, Sting smirked arrogantly while leading his team into the ancient ruins. He did not know exactly what they would find in here that would help with the fusion spells for Heavenly Body Magic, but there had to be something in a place that had been guarded by the ancient demon of the heavens. Darcy had mentioned that this demon's name was Valerie, and her aura was somewhere in these ruins. However, according to a few rumors that Yukino had heard about the ruins of Laverre, a certain complex puzzle made up for the lack of traps in this place. If that was truly the case, then what could it possibly be?

The group entered the first room of the Laverre Ruins, a room with a tiled floor in the color of strawberry pink to emphasize how Valerie must have been really girly, and there were ten golden metal stars floating in the air along white orbit paths as well. They moved at slow speeds, taking their own sweet time with curves and loops, and there were no stairs in this room at all. There were also no other doors, either, and that made things a little bit strange. Sting looked a little bit confused about what kind of puzzle this could be, only seeing the stars move in shorter and longer circular paths of orbit up in the air.

Narrowing his blue eyes at the situation, Sting looked up at the floating stars and decided to use White Dragon's Holy Ray. He gathered light into hands, before opening up the space between them to form a hole, and Sting shot out many beams of light up at the golden metal stars to hopefully have some kind of effect on them. When his attacks of holy white light hit the stars, they were simply ricocheted back down at the floor below while making a copious amount white explosions occur. The smoke cleared up quickly to reveal that Sting's attacks had definitely made many craters with cracks in the floor, but the stars were still intact.

Sting groaned while looking up at the stars to see them not even be damaged by his attack, and Lucy looked concerned while she stood beside him. She knew very well that her boyfriend's attacks were far from weak, and the stars had just been powerful enough to not be hurt by his rays of light. However, the ground had cracks in it while some pink beams of light radiated up from below in many cracks of the square room. Their heavenly energy was enough to make Lucy's spell book change to a pink color, and it began to glow with pink beams of light shining from the pages in the book in the seventh section where Heavenly Body Magic could be found.

He may not have seen what he had truly done, but Sting had given Lucy quite a hint about what to do. Some of the stars had made his rays of white light hit the walls as well, making craters on the pink walls, and that gave Lucy a pretty good idea. If the attacks weren't able to hit the stars or do much damage to the ceiling above hem, then it would be possible for them to hit everything else in the room. Lucy smiled a bit with confidence in her cocoa brown eyes while came to realize this, and she opened up the pink spell book to hopefully get some new spells that would really help the group of Sabertooth mages find what they were looking for.

"All right, then! It's time for the heavens to show us what they are hiding down below, everyone! I call upon thee, the ninth spell, Heavenly Demon's Meteorite Blitz!" Lucy shouted with strong feelings of confidence and determination while pink beams of light shined from the pink text for the first fusion spell of Heavenly Body Magic.

This spell caused Lucy to shoot out a pink sphere from her mouth, and it flew up into the air before exploding and releasing many smaller pink spheres to fall down to the floor. They all crashed into the ground at high speeds, creating many large pink blasts of heavenly energy, and this spell could also be used offensively to strike many opponents. It could also be used in a defensive manner to defend Lucy from many attacks by making the blasts surround her, and no enemies would be able to touch her in a close-range situation. Basically, it was a pretty handy move to have.

Sting hugged his girlfriend for using a great spell like that, since it had broken up the floor enough to let more of the pink light shine through to the entrance room of the Laverre Ruins, but his celebration was short-lived when he proceeded to clap his hands together a few times. His loud clapping had generated some large sound waves, and they were loud enough to make the entire floor start to crumble underneath everybody. They all comically looked surprised, before the floor gave way for them to fall down. Upon remembering the temple in Snowpoint City, Lucy hoped that there would be no ice this time.

Happy exclaimed in a teasing manner while giggling at Lucy, as he flew down to grab his light friend as she was screaming in fear, "There's no need to worry about falling, Lucy! Even though Natsu would've just destroyed the place, I think that Sting would've liked it if you fell on him to feel your beautiful butt on his face. It is pretty big, though, especially when there was that time you got it stuck in the doorway and had to pull down your khaki shorts for everyone to see that you weren't even wearing anything in front to not show your-"

The blue Exceed was suddenly hit on the head by a chunk of the floor that had broken apart, and he comically fainted while falling downward with Lucy. She screamed more while closing her eyes in fear from feeling Happy let her go, and Lucy thought that she was going to be broken like a vase falling from high heights. However, the blonde mage slowly opened her eyes after a few moments to see that she was caught by Sting. Lector had grabbed him earlier, and purposely placed him below Lucy to catch her in a romantic moment. Even though Sting was her boyfriend, it never hurt to score more points with gratitude from a beautiful woman.

Lucy blushed a light shade of pink while seeing that Sting was holding her in a bridal-style fashion, and she was so glad that he was there to catch her before she would hit the ground. She loved the fact that he had always been there to help her on many jobs, and Lucy looked into Sting's charming blue eyes to feel the warm sense of safety that she had always felt with him. He was always there to give her comfort when she needed it, and Lucy had always felt a sense of bliss to be saved by the guy that she had loved with all of her heart.

Yukino had let Happy rest on her head while she had scaled down the wall to the reach the underground chamber that had been hidden under the floor, and the Celestial Spirit Wizard had noticed that this was an entire room down here. It had a pink carpet covering the floor while also seeming to have pink wallpaper to match, and there was a pink two-person bed next to a pink end table that had a pink lamp on it. There was a pink dresser on the other side of the room with a pink diary on top of it, along with a pink wardrobe, a pink heart-shaped chair, and there was a pink heart-shaped table in the middle of the room with a golden bottle of pink perfume inside of it.

After so many centuries, how could any of this stuff still be intact? The Laverre Ruins were very old, from what Yukino had read in the history books, and this place looked like it could be Valerie's secret chamber from when she was still alive. Either that, or the ruins had been built over it for some unknown reason. The pink furniture had been glowing brightly, since it had all been infused with magic to give a special glow for the people who had found this room, and the glow looked very pretty to all of the girls. Putting the cuteness of this room aside, Sting decided that it was time to investigate.

Lucy had sprayed the pink perfume into the air, noticing how it smelled like cherry blossoms in the spring, and she smiled happily from noticing that Valerie had great taste in perfume. Valerie's sweet scent had flown over to the diary that Wendy and Carla were reading, and it the magical perfume had made the book flip to a different page like it was trying to tell something important to the girls. They were now on a page that seemed like Valerie's last diary entry, and the words in it seemed eerily familiar.

Wendy read in a somewhat surprised tone of voice, having remembered every word that Darcy had said back in the ghostly tower, "The Heavenly Body Magic that I possess is about to be taken away by a dark woman named Thorn Heartfilia. Whoever finds this book, please listen carefully. When she has the powers of the heavens, do not let her join the heavens with the magic of fairies. That is one of the deadliest combinations in the world, and it is gained when a user of heavenly energy takes the purity of a fairy through love or any other means. Please take my hidden spell, if you can, and put an end to her cosmic powers of evil."

At that moment, Lucy's pink spell book began to glow brightly while it seemed to have reacted to a pink aura that now surrounded the diary of Valerie. Lucy opened up the pink spell book to the section for Heavenly Body Magic, and the pink aura from Valerie's diary had lunged towards the spell book to offer its assistance. In a few moments, the second fusion spell began to be written in pink text. The words for this spell were glowing with pink lights being emitted from them, and Lucy could see that this new spell was known as Heavenly Ring.

While Lucy was about to recite this new spell, Sting had looked a bit shocked after he seemingly figured out Valerie's cryptic clue about the heavens not being allowed to join up with the magic of fairies. Not only would those types of magic make for a pretty lethal combo, but the white dragon slayer knew that there was only one place for anyone to find a fairy. That place was none other than Fairy Tail, the guild where Lucy had originally come from before she had joined Sabertooth, but who could Thorn possibly get love from in a place that was rowdy with people who brought justice down on anyone who opposed them?

As Sting was prepared to tell his theory to Lucy, the blonde girl had smiled happily while activating the spell known as Heavenly Ring. It caused a large pink ring of Heavenly Body Magic to surround Lucy and her teammates, before teleporting them all back to the guildhall of Sabertooth. This spell could also teleport the ring itself, as well as duplicating it to make it spatially explode in many blasts around whatever the user could see. It was similar to the Territory Magic that Minerva had wielded, but the Heavenly Body Magic for the fusion spells was far stronger. Even though Sting was miffed about being back at the guild, it probably would not be for long.

Back at Fairy Tail...

Upon hearing what Lisanna had just told him while she sat at the table with Suna beside her as the third party to step in when it was necessary, Natsu could not bring himself to believe her words at all. He looked like there had to be some major mistake in Lisanna's story, since the fire dragon slayer had never seen Thorn do anything that could possibly be evil, and Natsu could not even resist laughing at what his ex was trying to tell him. He still remembered how she tried to blackmail him in the Grand Magic Games, even though she only did that to try and get him to stop being a totally arrogant jerk.

Natsu really thought that Lisanna was simply trying to drive a wedge between him and Thorn, not wanting him to be happy with another woman for this to be some sort of payback on the fire dragon slayer for how he had been such a jerk to the white-haired mage, and all that he could do was put his hands over his ears while singing a song about how Lisanna was nothing more than a two-faced jerk who wanted to use him for selfish reasons. Wow, didn't Natsu once do that to Lisanna by using his relationship with her to make Lucy jealous when she was in Fairy Tail? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

As he continued to try and block out the sound of Lisanna's voice with his hands, Natsu's immature attitude had really gotten on Suna's nerves. She was not someone who liked to see anything fail, and the green-haired woman used her Earth Magic to enhance the strength in her arms while looking pretty miffed. She grabbed Natsu by his scarf, and she threw him against the entrance doors of Fairy Tail with hardly any effort. The force of the impact had actually caused Natsu to make a dent in the left door, and Makarov certainly would have to pay for that to be fixed.

While Lisanna smiled a bit at the fact that Natsu now had a large bump on his head, she had also hoped that Suna had slammed some sense into him. He did have a tendency to be stubborn, something that no one in the guild had liked about the fire dragon slayer, but there would end up being something else that would certainly surprise the guild members of Fairy Tail in an unpleasant way. Lisanna was about to hug her new friend for helping her deal with her ex, but the entrance doors suddenly swung open to reveal that a certain girl had finally arrived.

Thorn slowly walked into the guild, noticing all the harsh glares that were suddenly on people's faces, and the demonic woman even smirked evilly at the sight of Lisanna and Suna having survived in her plans. Her blood red eyes were filled with a bit of surprise at the sight of them, but Thorn's eyes were mostly filled with malice from seeing this as a way to simply kill them with the next step in her plans. The loudness of the doors swinging open had gotten Gray, Juvia, and Gajeel to come out of the infirmary, and Thorn then looked straight ahead to see that Mavis was utterly surprised to be sensing her dark energy once again. Now that almost the whole guild had been aware of her malice, Thorn knew that it was time for her to drop the act. A black aura spiraled around her body for a few seconds, and it faded away quickly to let everyone see her true form. Mavis could only widen her eyes in pure horror from seeing Thorn in her adult form, looking the same as when she was killed.

She had now looked like a slender young woman with black hair and red highlights at the roots and ends, pale skin and blood red eyes. She wore a black and red dress with red sleeves draping down her shoulders, the dress having both legs showing, and she had a red sash around her waist. She had black ankle shoes with red tints, red and black fingerless gloves that end at the elbow, and a red bat necklace. Her make-up consisted of no eyeshadow with red and black lipstick. She also had red nails, too. Natsu looked a bit curious while standing up, having recognized this supposed transformation from when Lucy did it in the tag-team battle on the fourth day of the Grand Magic Games, and he now became angry while thinking that his first ex and his second ex were now trying to pull some sick prank to get back at him for what he had done to them.

"You sneaky bitch! I recognize you now, Lucy! You changed into that shadowy girl with freaky spells in the Grand Magic Games, and now you're trying to get back at me by tricking me with love! I don't care about you anymore, and your little plan failed! You can never make me love you again, Lucy, and you'll always be nothing more than a weakling to me! You are just useless, and I can do better without a team! You and Sting can take your little prank somewhere else, you got that?!" Natsu shouted angrily while looking at the woman who he had thought was his new girlfriend.

Thorn replied in a dark tone of voice, looking pretty malicious while she maintained her devilish smirk for an explanation, "You are one trashy idiot, Natsu. I am Thorn Heartfilia, the girl who you seemed to be dating, but I never loved you at all. I was simply using you to try and get info about the mages in this guild, and I did try t get rid of your friends. However, I guess that the restraints on my book still prevented me from doing that. My plan is almost complete, mostly thanks to my gullible descendant, and I have no need for a pawn like you anymore. It's time for you to die, Natsu. After that, a certain icy knight will have to be deceased."

With this revelation, Natsu could only widen his eyes in shock. Thorn had been using him from the very beginning, manipulating him like a puppet on her strings, but she now saw no value in him anymore. The woman of darkness was now going to destroy Fairy Tail, but Natsu would not let her get off so easily for betraying him. He leaped back three times, getting distance between himself and Thorn, and Natsu proceeded to use Fire Dragon's Roar at full power. He unleashed the fiery beam of energy from his mouth, making it head straight for Thorn, but she giggled a bit while ingesting his flames and activating the third fusion spell of Heavenly Body Magic.

Thorn had now used a spell known as Heavenly Demonic Fairy's Malice, and she surprisingly aimed this spell at the dirt path leading up to the guild. Her attack caused a large spiraling pink beam of energy to come down from the heavens above, and it created a massive pink blast of Heavenly Body Magic! Everyone covered their eyes to avoid the large amount of light, and neither Makarov or Mavis could believe the high amount of power that was being sensed from that spell. It had also become clear to Mavis that Thorn had fused her Heavenly Body Magic with Fairy Magic, and that was like a very legendary combination.

She immediately went into the final fusion spell of Heavenly Body Magic, and Mavis looked very stunned to see what Thorn was about to do. She had a normal pink aura in her left hand, and a light pink aura was in her right hand. She slammed her hands together to merge the two powers together, thus creating the true fusion of Heavenly Body Magic and Fairy Magic to create a larger pink aura that went straight into her mouth. It engulfed her body, making Thorn laugh in a sadistic manner, and this was one of the most ancient spells of destruction.

Thorn was now ready to use her final fusion spell that was known as Heavenly Demon's Spacial Symphony, and it caused the dark clouds in the sky to begin swirling around in a large mass. Thorn had released the pink aura around her body, sending it into the air, and this move caused many pink star-shaped beams to come down from the hole in the swirling clouds above the town of Magnolia. They destroyed a few buildings, some of them even landing on the streets or in the grass, and many enormous pink blasts of energy transpired. People could be heard screaming in fear, definitely alarming the members of Fairy Tail, and Thorn continued to look malicious while the pink aura reappeared around her body. She was simply showing off the last spell of Heavenly Body Magic, as a way of showing Mavis that her plan's completion was only four mere spells away.

Mavis exclaimed in a stern manner while looking ready to fight with all of her friends beside her, angry with Thorn's malicious acts of pure destruction for her plans of a dark world, "Thorn, stop this violence right now! You will not get to take over the world, no matter how many spells you have, and we will all stop you! If you want to go to war with Fairy Tail, then we will show you how we can overcome foes of darkness like you! Everyone, get ready for me to converge of all of your magical power into a single attack that will annihilate this witch like last time! History repeats itself, Thorn, but you will be sent to the netherworld this time around!"

At that moment, Thorn responded with a deadly smirk on her face while she began to giggle in a vicious manner, "Mavis, you truly do underestimate the powers of darkness. I was pretty cocky when we fought last time, that is true in the history books stating that fact, but things are different this time. You may not have noticed it, but I did not attack any of your pieces on the chessboard at all. You may be wondering why I've played a great game of shogi with all of you, at least up to this point. I don't even need to attack you, since I temporarily gave these powers to my new shadow servant. Look around carefully, Mavis. You're missing a brown-haired rook."

Before anyone could realize what Thorn was even talking about, she snapped her fingers once to cause a shadowy puddle to emerge in front of everyone. Natsu had to wonder if some kind of demon would come out of that shadowy hole, but he was just as surprised as everyone else to see Karen slowly rise from that black puddle while she wore a beautiful white kimono. However, she was not the one who they were amazed to see. Cana sighed happily while she stood next to her new lover, blushing a light shade of pink while her hair had been smelling like sweet honey, and she wore a purple kimono while planting a soft kiss on Karen's right cheek.

Everyone could only drop their jaws in shock at the fact that it looked like Cana had joined up with Thorn and Karen, and even Erza was shocked to see that her friend would do such a thing. Cana had taken another romantic with Karen earlier, washing her lover's body while enjoying her warm kisses, and Thorn had filled the tub with shadowy liquid to turn it black. Cana had sunk down into the warm bath, taking in all of the darkness through every hole in her body, and Karen had gotten her out of it after thirty minutes to see if its malicious effects had truly worked. As fate would have it, they did. Afterwards, Thorn had temporarily given her fusion spells of Shadow Demon Magic to Cana because taking in so much of darkness had indeed made her become a demon now.

The brown-haired girl looked at all of her former friends with a malicious look in her purple eyes, giggling evilly at the sight of them all looking like they could not believe what had happened to their card-wielding friend, and Erza was the person who was mostly shocked. Cana had been one of her best friends, the person who had helped her get back to Fairy Tail after Thorn had made an ice statue out of the scarlet-haired mage, and Erza angrily glared at Thorn while getting ready to slice her into oblivion for making her nakama go over to the dark side.

Natsu shouted angrily for Erza, now seeing another reason to hate the girl who had thrown him aside like a piece of trash, "What the hell have you done to Cana, you bitch?! Why are you going to get her involved in this?! Have you drugged her or something?!"

Cana responded in a devilish tone, giggling with pure malice in her voice while she locked eyes with the fire dragon slayer, "You sure know how to get worked up over things, Natsu. Karen has simply shown me how lovely the darkness can be, and this evil power that flows through my veins is a great gift from the shadows. She and I actually met long before the dark plan commenced, and let's just say that I did not know which side to be loyal to. Even in my sleep, I would have dreams of helping Karen carry out the wonderful plan of our mistress. Thorn Heartfilia is a wonderful demon, and the darkness shall be where us evil woman shall rule."

The woman with silvery-blue hair had cut off Cana's speech with a soft rub to her rear that made the tanned girl blush in pleasure, and she simply explained to everyone how it had all happened in the first few days after Lucy had officially left Fairy Tail to follow Erza's advice. Cana had been depressed about the fact that one of her friends had to leave the guild because of a certain fiery jerk, and Karen had used her shadowy powers to offer Cana some power within her dreams while she slept. The dark power may not have been what Cana wanted at the time, but losing to Karen in the tag-team battle in the Grand Magic Games had certainly made her feel like she needed to become stronger. She needed that power, and the path of evil would gladly give it to her.

While Thorn had disappeared into the shadow of a table, knowing very well that this would be the perfect bait for Lucy, and she would soon possess the body of the blonde mage to have control of the book while having the world at her knees. Natsu furiously charged towards Cana, looking angry as flames engulfed his fists, but she used a spell known as Shadow Demon's Sneaking Nightmare to make Natsu's own shadow stretch a large outward from him before retracting back towards him to make a large black blast of shadowy energy occur! This was not like the other seven types of magic, and Natsu was screaming in pure agony from the tremendous pain of Cana's attack.

Gajeel had sternly glared at Cana for seeming to have gone to the dark side of her own free will, betraying her friends like this, and he launched a large spiky iron pillar at her to keep her from using any more distance attacks. Cana had simply smirked evilly at the sight of this, and she used a spell known as Shadow Demon's Resentment. This move caused the shadow of Gajeel's iron pillar to stretch upward, making the grey pillar turn black, and it soon exploded in a black blast of energy that was moved through the shadows to hit Levy instead! The blue-haired girl screamed in pain from the immense attack, and Gajeel could see how the shadows were making deep cuts on her body. She fell to the floor with a thud, and Cana laughed evilly from having so much fun.

As Gajeel ran over to Levy's side while quickly getting her pen of Solid Script Magic that was on the bar's counter, Erza could now see that Cana was not possessed in any way. The scarlet-haired mage did not know about Karen's Shadow Charm spell that she had put on Cana, though, and she requipped into her Heaven's Wheel Armor to create nine swords that would strike Cana from behind. However, the brown-haired girl turned around and grinned evilly while using another one of Thorn's deadly moves of the shadows.

This spell was known as Shadow Demon's Void, and it made nine spheres of black energy surround Erza's swords. The spheres quickly exploded while spreading out across the guild to do some major damage, and black goop had begun to drip from the black smoke. It began to glow brightly with black beams of energy coming from all of the goop on the floor, and Cana had been laughing evilly with Karen while she could see a mental image of this spell's effects. Erza grabbed Natsu while the goop began to spread, and Gray looked pretty stern while he tried to freeze it all with ice. Unfortunately, that was a bad move on his part.

The frozen goop began to shine brightly with its black beams of light, before creating a massive amount of black blasts that had been powerful enough to greatly injure all of the mages, and this spell had been known as Shadow Demon's Revenge. Its energy waves were powerful enough to make the Fairy Tail guild be destroyed in a loud explosion of ominous black smoke, and Cana had used this distraction to use Shadow Demon's Sneaking Nightmare on all of her old friends this time. Their shadows stretched very far, before retracting back quickly to kill them in many powerful shadowy explosions!

Cana could only smile evilly at what she had done, noticing that the guild was now falling to the ground like a heap of rubble, but Karen had giggled viciously while telling her in a calm manner that Thorn would just rebuild the guild because she had memorized its shadow. The two girls simply shared a wonderful kiss of pleasure while they sunk back down into the shadowy black puddle, happy with the evil deed that they had committed, but they did not know that Gray's little trick known as Ice-Make: Reflection had saved everyone at the last moment. He had told Erza to make one sword, freezing it with ice, and he aimed it at himself and all of his friends. They could not stop Thorn, but Gray had known that it was smart to enter the icy dimension of his spell that had healing properties for everyone in it.

20 minutes later...

As Cana had felt really exhausted from using four fusion spells in a row, she simply let herself rest on the bed that she shared with Karen in Lucy's apartment. She was panting heavily while sweating profusely, the shadowy spells having been a little too much for a new demon, and Cana closed her eyes while she drifted off to sleep. It felt so good to destroy her old guild today, loving every single moment of it, and Cana could feel Karen's hands undoing the purple kimono that the brown-haired girl had been wearing. It was tossed on to the floor, leaving Cana naked while the white bed sheets were over her body, and she sighed happily while blushing.

She thought that it was a dream to feel herself below somebody on the bed, and Cana slowly opened her eyes while thinking that this was a fantasy. Karen had gotten on top of Cana, undoing the bed sheets to expose her beautiful body, and the woman with silvery-blue hair had wrapped her arms around Cana's waist while kissin her lips gently to arouse her lover. The kiss was so very soft and warm, making Cana blush a light shade of pink while returning it, and she let her left hand rub Karen's left breast gently to give her some pleasure.

The older woman elicited a soft sigh of pleasure while she broke the kiss, and she let her right hand rub down Cana's body from her neck to her stomach. Karen's cold hand had made Cana shiver in bliss, feeling excited, and Karen put two of her own fingers into her mouth to lube them up. She was the one with more experience in this relationship, and she smiled kindly while seeing that her lover had the instinct to spread her legs. She put her wet fingers inside of Cana's womanhood, making the younger girl widen her purple eyes from how Karen entered so roughly, but she got past that sudden pain to relax in the pleasure of Karen slowly feeling around within her.

It felt so good to have another woman inside of her, and Cana let out a soft moan when Karen's fingers pushed in deeper to make her lover become more aroused. Karen had even let the shadows go inside of Cana, brushing against her walls, and moisture began to build between the legs of the brown-haired demon. Cana was feeling pleasure from this, and she could feel Karen's fingers beginning to pump in and out of her at a fast and rough pace while the thin shadows were doing it slowly. Cana did not want Karen to have all of the fun, and she sucked on her partner's left nipple while her breasts had come down close to her own.

She could taste Karen's flesh, enjoying it, and Cana let go when she heard Karen moan happily in pleasure. Deciding to take things up a bit in this warm moment, Cana used all of her strength to get Karen to roll off of her. The woman with silvery-blue hair giggled while turning to face Cana, having a little bit of a scheme up her sleeve for letting Cana suck on her so hard like that. She leaned in towards Cana, looking like she wanted another kiss, and Cana closed her eyes while leaning in for another blissful kiss as well. She wanted to try and dominate over Karen's tongue in their kiss, but her lover had other playful plans.

When Cana had gotten close enough, Karen smirked a bit while turning over on her side to make Cana's lips meet her large and curvy rear. Cana opened her eyes while blushing cherry red at the sight of kissing Karen's large left butt cheek, and she caressed the right cheek softly while giggling at her little act of revenge. She even gave it a little pinch, something that caused Karen to tell the thin shadows to go deeper into Cana and hit her clitoris with both rough and soft thrusts, and both girls were certainly having quite a nice time in bed.

"Get ready for me to finally taste you, sweetie. I always love to know how delicious a woman can be, and I have not felt this great in a long while. It's nice to have the body of a young woman, since I can be just as sexy as you." Karen told Cana in a sultry tone, before turning to face her with a happy smile and a light shade of pink blush on her cheeks.

Cana responded with an aroused look while sweating profusely and panting, moaning in pleasure while just now realizing what Karen had done as she began to move her legs around and begin to arch her back from feeling what was going on inside of her, "Wow, you're a really sneaky demon... I never would've guessed that you'd use shadows to pleasure me, but it feels so rough and soft. Ahhhhhhhh... Ohhhhhhhh... It feels so good to be on the side of evil now, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I want to be in the darkness with you forever, Karen, and I'll love whatever Thorn has planned for the dark world to begin. I love you so much..."

As Karen liked hearing Cana's words, she gently planted a soft kiss on her lover's left breast. She could see how Cana looked like she could not hold in all the pleasure of this, getting ready to climax, and Karen let her head go under Cana's back while she laid next to her in the bed. She bit her neck softly with her fanged teeth, causing Cana to lose a little bit of blood, but Karen was happy to see that her Shadow Charm spell was working perfectly. She now had Cana under her influence, still having lust to share many romantic feelings with her, and Karen proceeded to get her head out from under Cana's back for the finale.

The brown-haired girl let out a happy whisper of Karen's name, before telling her lover to get on top of her, and their breasts rubbed together while Cana climaxed all over Karen. She moaned in pleasure while blushing cherry red, happy to let all of that out, and Cana smiled happily from seeing Karen lick her juices off of her face. She even got some of Cana's wetness off of her body, tasting her juices to definitely be sweet like how she now enjoyed being malicious for Thorn, and Karen could see her lover looking utterly exhausted while she was drifting off into what she thought was another dream.

Karen gently got off of Cana, giving her a beautiful kiss on the lips to taste herself, and the shadowy demon with silvery-blue hair could only promise herself that she would let her lover dominate next time. Karen smirked evilly while touching Cana's brown hair with her left hand, and this game of chess had definitely gotten interesting. With Cana having used Thorn's spells for a limited duration, the book was now at its highest point. Thorn would probably be close to winning this game of chess, but neither her or Karen realized that Lucy had actually been given one gift that had been a little bit overlooked on her journey.
