Hey guys. I know what the followers of this story are thinking. "2k words?! U wot m8?!" Is probably the line they are thinking; I hope that you guys can understand that when I say that this story is nearing its end. I can't get enough inspiration for this story anymore. I will TRY and get it to 20 chapters. Therefore, I apologize for everyone. The last chapter will be a long chapter I can damn well promise you all that. I can hopefully wish that I get inspiration enough to write another champion story. Though that depends if people will read it.
I awoke in the hall with Chains and Mystic still at my side making me sigh as I sat up slowly before walking to the door. I saw Moltress standing outside the door staring at it waiting for me making me smile slightly as I summoned Kuirikara. I opened the door raising the sword defensively to have her attack subside as she saw the weapon in my hand. "I hate to say it Moltress but you really need to lay off. I have enough on me already I don't need you too." I said walking down the hallway towards the meeting hall coming to a stop at the double doors. "Leone what are you doing up this early?" I heard Arceus ask behind me making me lower my head slightly. "I need to go back." I said turning around seeing Arceus looking at me in utter disbelief.
"Go back? Why Leone?" She asked me making me sigh as I knew the answer. "Because I can do more there than up here waiting. A war is raging on down there and I need to go back down there so that I can help the weak." I responded seeing her look at me as I opened the doors stepping inside with her following. "Leone, do you think about any of the legendaries here? We would need a proper vote." She said making me sigh as I shook my head. "I'm trying to do things the right way. You all left me there for five years and I had given up on returning. Plus there are others down there that need me to be there for them." I said seeing her eyes widen as she looked at me with shock. "Are you absoloutely sure this is what you want? Because you can't go back if you choose this."
I nodded at her words. "Feel free to stop by and say hi occasionally." I joked seeing her smile lightly before she only nodded before I heard the doors behind me burst open. I whipped around to stare at Chains' eyes as she stormed in, taking quick strides to reach me. I stepped back in fear at the advance before she was standing in front of me. "I am going with you." She stated flatly making both Arceus and I stare at her in disbelief I spoke up first. "Chains, if you go with me, what will become of Mystic? You are a true friend of hers, that Absol is not a friend. Just someone who she could relate to, an acquaintance of sorts. So you will understand why I don't think you coming along will be a good idea." I said seeing her glare daggers at me. "I don't care; I'm not going through that grief again."
Her words shocked me as I sighed and looked at Arceus for support. "Leone is right. You cannot leave Chains you are required to be here." Arceus spoke gently as Chains turned to glare at her. "I will not go through the grief of thinking that he has been dead for years. Why you never told me that he was still alive I do not understand. However, when he showed back up I know that I cannot go through that grief again. I do not care anymore. I am going with Leone Arceus." Chains snapped making me sigh internally as I gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "Chains, if you were to come with me. What could you offer to me? I hate to say it Chains but I have been changed by my time being a vigilante. I don't need you coming in and hating me for what I've become."
My words made Chains stare at me confused. "What do you mean 'hate you'?" she asked me making me sigh as I looked at Arceus, she nodded, I turned back to Chains. "Chains; I have become a ruthless killer. Taking lives is second nature to me now. I do not want you to become the same as me. If you want to visit me that is fine, however, you can't handle what I've through already. It is better that you stay here. It is for your own good. It hurts you when I say that I know but I can't have a true friend of mine tainted by what I've been doing." I said seeing Chains nod with tears in her eyes. "I'll visit you soon Leone. Just please do not do anything to reckless while you're down there." She said with a trembling voice as I nodded, embracing her.
"Don't worry. I won't get into trouble." I whispered into her ear before I stepped back. I glanced at Arceus and simply nodded. I was once again back in the hut. I sighed as I looked around at the sleeping pups making me smile before I looked to the side seeing that Amy was there and she was also asleep. I sighed quietly as I slowly stood up before quietly leaving the room and walking further down the hallway until I came to a wooden door with the engraving of Zekrom on the door. I opened it before stepping inside before slowly making my way towards a bed before I sat down on the side of it staring at the wall before I slowly laid down on my back staring at the ceiling before smiling lightly at nothing in particular before I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
I awoke to Amy pouncing onto the bed before fiercely nuzzling my neck making me laugh quietly as she continued her ministrations. I looked at her out of the corner of my eye seeing her eyes closed with tears escaping past her eyelids. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here now." I whispered repeatedly into her ear as I slowly embraced her. "Don't scare me like that; you were gone for a week. I thought they had got you again." She whimpered as she eventually stopped and just laid her head on my shoulder and softly sobbed into it. I sighed quietly as she continued to sob into my shoulder. "Amy, don't worry. Its fine, they managed to see reason. I am staying here unless they absolutely need me; if that is the case, they will come here. So I won't be leaving this plane of existence at all."
My words made Amy leap over me so that her body rested atop of my own as she stared into my eyes. "So you can look after us? What about the war?" Amy questioned making me sigh as I slowly took out the amulet of Arceus and grasped it firmly in one hand. "Dialga." I whispered before seeing my surroundings vanish only to change to ribbon like objects in a void of darkness, each one of them a different time line. "What are you doing here Leone?" I heard Dialga ask from behind me as I slowly turned around to look at her. "I'm trying to find out how both sides will react to the moves I'm already thinking of. It should not be too long before I have to make that move regardless but all timelines involving the war show me coming here. Therefore, this was unavoidable. However, you should already know the answer. So I shall ask you, who do I temporarily join sides with to wipe out the other?"
Dialga looked shocked at the question before she regained her composure. "If you are willing to die at the end, you will join Plasma, if you wish to live; aqua and magma are teaming up temporarily to get rid of plasma. They are in full control of the war now. All timelines show that they will eventually fight each other until they both disappear but you can choose to save one of them by joining them." She said making me sigh as I lightly rubbed my chin in a thinking manor. "And if the one I choose won, they control the three regions. I don't get it; maybe we need a fourth army for this one for defending this place." I said slowly, feeling like it was the best choice of action. "That would work, but against the combined powers of both aqua and magma it wouldn't stand a chance."
Dialga's words, while making sense, did not deter me from my original plan. "What if, the fourth army wasn't a real threat to begin with. If it was just something, they overlooked. A rebel group of at least one hundred it is possible they will leave us be, and that is this region. Imagine the others if they know what we are fighting for, the forth army could climb numbers until they could not stop it." I said while turning to look at Dialga to find her staring at me shocked. "It could work, but I've never seen that future, in any of these possibilities." She said making me smirk as I turned my back to her. "Humans have a habit of making their own future. It is always against us to just sit by and let ourselves be controlled blindly. So people will often rebel against whatever will be in control, it always will remain that way."
I saw Dialga shake her head sadly. "I know that all too well. But you need to get started, because they're moving today." She said making me become fully alerted. "Alright, thanks for the heads up." I said seeing her nod. I was brought back to the hut with a flash of light. I stood still as the pups came up to my feet looking at my serious face. "Listen. I am going to be doing what I do best. I might not return. However, if I do not return Amy will look after you until you feel safe enough to leave on your own." I started seeing their eyes widen. Nevertheless I continued. "I understand how sad this moment may seem, but I will be striking a blow for all people and Pokémon, to stand up for what they believe in. I want to know that this tyranny can end. So I am asking you all to not grieve for me if I do not return."
As I finished I saw Amy walk in with tears in her eyes. "Leone, you can't do this." She said making me sigh as I slowly walked over to her. "I hate this as much as you do Amy but I have to. I have to do this. It is for the greater good of not only this region, but also the world. I don't want to do this, I wish there was another to do it. However, I can't be a bystander when innocent beings, human and Pokémon alike, are being slaughtered by the hundreds. I'm sorry." I said, standing up and turning to leave. Hearing whimpering and soft sobs behind me as I put on a thick Kevlar chest rig with AR500 level four steel plates in the rig. I slowly slid it over my head, the weight making me grunt as it hit my shoulders. I fastened it around my torso so it didn't leave me exposed before picking up a blood red hockey mask.
I stared into the eyeholes before I slipped it on. I felt my vision, instead of being narrowed, enhance as the amulet of Arceus did its work. I sighed as I grabbed the glock and held it in my hands. The polyester grip feeling natural in my grip as I opened the door and stepped outside, I saw three Pokémon outside, a houndoom, a mightyena and a gallade. "We are ordered to bring you back alive human." The houndoom snarled making me smile behind the mask as I tilted my head. "You lost?" I asked them, pretending to not understand them. "His mental barriers are like steel, I can't break them." The gallade whispered, trying to keep me from hearing it. "I wouldn't recommend trying to break into my mind sir. It only ends up breaking your own mind if I do drop my barriers."
My words made the mightyena look at me with suspicion. "Come." It said, motioning with its head. Deciding to drop the act, I shook my head. "I'm afraid I can't. Because I know how this ends. Now Houndoom, I have a name you know. It sucks being called by your species." My remark made them all look towards me with shock before the gallade took on a defensive stance. "You really think that you can take me on. Pathetic." I whispered under my breath, getting into a fighting stance of my own. I felt my arms get wrapped in a psychic hold as the gallade prepared to slit my throat. I thought fast and changed into my ghost type form. A black vapour surrounding my form, relinquishing the hold the psychic had on me as I teleported away from him.
I know a lot of you reading this are disappointed. With the 2k word count. However, to be honest. I can't get any more out of this story. The book I'm writing is just sapping ideas from me. Therefore, I can't really focus on these stories. Moreover, I don't see this story continuing after chapter 18. I might make it to chapter 20. I can't see this lasting very long is what I'm saying. I am sincerely sorry about this unfortunate news. I hope that I am wrong and what this is will pass in time and I'll be all like "Well I was an idiot." However, I don't think that is the case :(
I hope that you will all still stick with me as I write to other stories but I don't know. I might make another one if I can find the inspiration for it.
