The Humanoid Prime

Chapter 13

Lucinda's POV

I was in deep recharge one early morning, after the last two months of intense Ironhide training routines I had tended to recharge longer on my few days off. Only, this morning was not a day off so to say.

Dad informed me last cycle that I would join him and Optimus to see the newest section of the Autobot base, where I have been told I'll be spending a lot of time there once I graduate Prime training. The new section for the Autobots was where the bravest soldiers stay and scout the area; why scout a military base you may ask? Well that's simple…. The base is located in the outskirts of Kaon; known as the main section to the Decepticons.

The outskirts of Kaon are better to scout thieving bots or anybot really that seems to be causing enough trouble for the military to step in and take control. Tasks such as that are dangerous enough! Who knows what weapons they may have, or what crimes they have or going to commit?

Tasks like those are mostly given to Autobot soldiers named 'The Wreckers'. Some bots say they have no fear and go in for the kill….. I pray that is not always the case!

In the outskirts some In between bots still love there, as well as some unfortunate bots; not to mention Decepticons too! From what Dad has told me, some of those bots have been captured by The Wreckers and stay locked up in there holding cells for prisoners. In some cases it is quite upsetting to hear, the few bots who do not live in a world around crime; they make them get captured just for protection. It truly is a poor world we live in this day.

A gentle shake awakens me from my needed recharge, I open my eyes to see Dad's holoform smiley down to me.

"Time to wake up sweetspark."

I sat up properly on my bed before yawning (only something I am able to do, human nature I have been told!)

"Good morning Daddy." I smiled back to him.

"Did you recharge well?" He spoke gently to me. Even though I am now a grown femme, he still insists on treating me like a youngling again.

"Yes I di…. Wait a minute. How did you get in here? The doors are all locked!"

For a moment, I forgot I had moved out of my old home and into the apartment I and Rhythm have bought. It wasn't as big as my last home with my Dad, but in all fairness he needed a lot of space for his weapons and work pads he brought home. He's a big mech, he needs a lot of room!

"Ah yes. Well Rhythm let me in when I buzzed in."

"You mean when you threated him to let you in? In our living space?"

It certainly wouldn't be the first time Dad had threated any of my friends in the past…. Or maybe all of them! But only because they were all mech's and not femmes; some reason other femmes didn't want to be my friends so I kept close to the twins, Rhythm and the fliers. Dad also never calls my friends by their names, except Rhythm!

"Not the time Lucinda, grab what you'll need and meet me outside." He said and walked out of my human sized bedroom, larger than a normal human room but compared to the bots….. It's tiny!

I quickly changed into my Autobot themed jumpsuit (blue and white) with a pair of white flat, but strongly made shoes. I had my long dark hair put up into a high 'ponytail' (as the humans call it) and grabbed my traveling backpack I have had since I was a youngling. No matter how many items I put in my backpack, it never got full! Or really that heavy either. After meeting the other Autobots and having the tour of the base, I and some other bots are having a big celebration. Of course, I packed my newest gown made for me Que, as well as night gear in case we stay the night.

Once I am packed and ready, I started to walk in the living room of our apartment. Like in my old home with Dad, we had platforms and stairs installed so I could walk above the ground. It's easier for me to see bots and it's safer. I would rather not be squished in my own home thank you very much!

I look over the platform to see Rhythm with his morning reading pad on his couch, and of course his morning energon on the large coffee table. He looks up and smiles before saying goodbye, Rhythm wasn't as shy as he used to be; but he still stammers from time to time.

I walk downstairs until I reach the door and see Dad in his vehicle form and opens his passenger side out for me, signalling me to get in before he leaves me here. On important journeys when we travel in his vehicle, he uses his holoform while driving. I guess it's to show I'm not alone due to my size and structure I was born with.

Three hours later

After hours of traveling, we had finally arrived to the outskirts off Kaon. I am only glad we don't have to drive all the way in Kaon! Primus knows what will hit us…..

:Ironhide to Nova 133. Come in:

:Ironhide this is Nova 133. What is your arrival?:

:ETA one minute:

I dazed off and look to my right and saw the dreadful part of our world. Kaon was all but grey and fire a crossed in different directions, it shocked me to how close it seemed we were to the central. But Dad told me that the base was cloaked, so no outsiders could detect us.

The base looked almost exactly like the one we had back home, but this base was more guarded and was built slighter bigger around the edges.

Dad drove through the gates and let me out so he could transform, once he was finishing stretching; he placed me on his shoulder.

"Is Optimus here?" I asked Dad. Just as he was about to answer, a new voice had spoken up first.

"Optimus Prime is still in his meeting." It was a large blue and white mech (Smaller than Optimus but bigger than Ironhide). His whole posture was strict and powerful, he was defiantly a commander…..

"Ultramagnes. I assume you will be showing us the base?"

"Indeed Ironhide. Optimus has asked me to give you and Lucinda Prime out best treatment here in the outskirts of Kaon."

"You really do go out for guests" Dad chuckled "I'm honoured."

"Only for a Prime." With that he looked at me, as if he were studying me.

"Now, if you will both follow me. The tour will begin." He turned around and started to walk around the base and into the training grounds they had outside. While walking awkwardly behind Ultramagnes, Dad started making funny faces and grumpy grunts to the commander. Luckily he didn't catch him, or me giggling!

"If you both are quite done."

Or so we thought….. Opps?

"And meet our soldiers."

Ultramagnes moved to the side and showed a long line of bots staring at us….Or me.

"Wreckers. Meet headquarters weapon specialist Ironhide. Also, meet our very special guest Lucinda Prime."

Of course some bots had shock looks on their faceplates, others had confusion and pride…. I hope it's pride!

"Make to be on your best behaviour for the next two days mech's."

They all stood attention

"Yes Sir!"

And with that some went back to the jobs they were doing beforehand, but some actually walked over to Dad and me with smiles on their faceplates.

A large bulky green mech spoke first.

"Lucinda Prime. It's an honour… Ma'm!" Ma'm? No bot has ever addressed me so highly before, poor mech looked terrified.

"Why thank you…."

"Err Bulkhead ma'm."

"Well thank you Bulkhead. But please don't address me as ma'm, you can call me Lucinda like everyone else does."

Bulkhead seemed surprised at the way I spoke, he was probably thinking I was a high class femme. Of course by blood I am, but I wanted to be treated like other bots; treated like a friend.

"How about Lucy?" Another mech spoke. He was smaller than Bulkhead but still looked pretty strong to me. He was white with green and red marking around him. With a bit of teasing coming from this mouth.

When he said this, some bots (including Dad) was shocked/appalled by the way he spoke to a 'Prime'. Some may say it was rude, but to me it felt like I was home again.

Dad looked like he was about to punch this new mech, until I spoke up.

"Lucy is fine. That's what my friends call me back home." I smiled to the bots around me. I didn't want them to be nervous to speak to me, I wanted them to be themselves.

"Well then Lucy. Guess we'll see ya around." And with a cocky smirk, he and the other bots walked away. Well….. I'm sure I'll get along here fine!

"Punk" My Dad muttered while walking into the base, it only made me giggle at the protective mech I was walking with.

Let's hope everything today and tomorrow goes to plan!
