The Humanoid Prime

Chapter 17

Third Point of View

Lucinda waited behind a very large broken piece of metal for her father to collect her and her new-born sparkling. She knew that Ironhide can easily track her down because of the bond they both share in their sparks; they draw into each other for reasons such as this.

A little yawn caught the femme's attention and she smiled softly at her son cradled safely in her arms. Lucinda was positive Ironhide would melt at the sight of Everest, how could he not? He's such a beautiful creature! And after all, Everest is Ironhide's grandspark; they share the same C-N-A.

She could only hope that who Everest's father will not damage any hope for relationships back home where everyone she loves is there….

"Lucinda?"

The voice of her father was enough for Lucinda to cradle her sparkling in one arm, and the other arm carrying their belongings. Ironhide was in his real form looking around for his daughter that went missing a couple of days ago, happy to hear that she was alright but he needed to see her for himself.

"Hi Daddy." Hopefully using Ironhide's favourite name for him will keep him happy she thought. He turned around and saw Lucinda not too far away from his spot.

"There you are! Where have you been sparkling?! I've been worried sick!" He exclaimed, she knew he wasn't angry at her; but still pretty upset.

"Dad?"

"And another thing!?..."

His optics left his daughter's face and stared into the little bundle she held in one arm. Is that what he thinks it is? To be absolutely sure, he knelt down and got closer to Lucinda's frame.

"Is that?..."

"Meet your grandspark Daddy." She smiled up to her father.

"But…. How can this be? You were only gone for three and a half days…."

"He's a gift from Primus himself. I saw it happen, just like you did all those years ago now."

Ironhide dragged his gaze from the new-born back to his daughter's face.

"So you didn't bond with anybot? So help me Primus if some brat touched MY sparkling, I'll kick their aft-pipe across the galaxy!" He yelled out. Mostly to himself….

"Daddy! No! I didn't bond with anybot and no bot touched me. Everest is a gift."

"Hmm… I see." On the outside he seems cool and collective, but on the inside he's thanking the stars above him.

"Now then. How did you manage to whined up here in the middle of nowhere?"

Lucinda places the belongings on the ground and shuffled Everest around until he was in a comfier position before sighing.

"I wasn't alone…"

"Well then why didn't they comm me? I could have found you sooner my dear."

"I was with Soundwave."

"…"

"Daddy?" Lucinda whispered out to her frozen father. Ironhide is well known for his blow ups, not just with his cannons but his temper too! She couldn't imagine how he would react to his daughter being with a high ranked Decepticon!

"Is he the…. The sire?"

Taking surely wouldn't help the situation, so she only nodded as a response.

"I see."

"Father please don't be angry."

"You side that he was a gift from Primus correct? Then Primus clearly knew what he was doing. It seems, like his Mother, he has a bright future ahead of him." He smiled at the small pair below him.

"You're not upset that…."

"That my first grandspark's Sire is a Decepticon? Of course! But…. Do I wish he was never created? Never."

"Really? You truly mean that?"

"With all my spark my dear."

Ironhide and Lucinda smiled happily at one another before he transformed into his vehicle mode and activated his holoform. The new grandpa smiled eagerly at his grandson and cradled him to his own arms.

Lucinda gave out a long breath she didn't even know she was holding, being very thankful that her father excepted Everest with open arms. She knew he wouldn't be able to resist his cuteness!

"What do you wish to do now Lucinda?" She looked into her father's humanoid optics and thought for a moment before speaking.

"To raise my son the best way I can. And right now, I don't think it's time to reveal Everest to everybot just yet."

"You wish it to be a secret?"

"For now at least. I want everybot to meet him when he's old enough to understand why."

Ironhide merely nodded his head and returned his attention back to his grandson. For Lucinda, even though she would love her friends and family members meet Everest; she feels they wouldn't quite understand what's happened in the last four days.

"I know a place." The holoform said.

"Where?"

"Do you remember the sea of lights?"

"Of course! We visited there all the time when I was young." Ironhide chucked at her eagerness and gave her a knowing look.

"Do you mean?..."

"You always said you would want to live there at some point. Now is the perfect time, especially with a sparkling in the picture."

"Well… But what about the Autobots? You can't leave them. We can't leave them!"

"I'm sure they'll understand one day. But of course we have to let Prime know, over wise they'll try and track us down with too many questions I wish to hear."

The thought of it all was very appealing… But why did it seem wrong to Lucinda? Leaving everybot she knows without a word for years to come!

"Alright. Let's do it." She smiled.

She only hopes her friends she has made along the way will understand….

Someday.
