Chapter 18

Third Point of View

Many things have changed the last eight years for the planet Cybertron. One of them being that The Decepticons have taken control of the entire West coast of their fighting planet; many more have fallen.

It's been an ongoing struggle for all life trying to survive and to keep whatever peace around them they have left, though the Autobots have been rising in their numbers also. The trainee bots we met all those years ago are now qualified soldiers, proud and worthy to be fighting for their world.

Though it may be true that that soldiers have fallen, filmier bots still keep going strong and keep their faiths to protect the ones they love and those who have lost everything. The population of Cybertronian's have dropped rapidly and continue to fall, meaning the children. All younglings and sparkling's are…. Deceased. Seeing one alive is extremely rare and makes it even more precious.

The remaining bots alive are either soldiers or remaining neutrals that have remained hidden from optic sight.

It is indeed a sad sight to behold. It has indeed changed the last eight years on Cybertron.

Sunstreaker's POV

Stupid dumb aft-pipe! It took me over two hours to get buffed and waxed, do they know how long it took me to make that batch?! NO!

The place where I used to always get my wax and buffer from was destroyed by those Decepticreeps about two years ago, so I make my own. Most bots these days don't bother with it anymore, they just fight and come back for some energon.

Sure, I wanna come back in one piece and to be able to see my friends and twin; but I want to offline them all looking good!

We have our good days at the Autobot base, but we also have our bad days too. We lose a bot every day, just like we gain another; and yet we still manage to have our numbers decrease. When will this just end?!

This war has been going on longer than when I and Sides were sparked! So why can't we just defeat them already?

I should be grateful though, I mean at least I still have my twin and Sire; most don't even have that!

But there's still someone I don't have….. Lucinda Prime

It's been over eight years since I last saw her beautiful blue optics or heard her angelic voice, after all these years; I still don't know where she is….

Flashback

Sideswipe and I just arrived at the Autobot base when we heard Lucinda was found back in Kaon, she had been missing for a couple of days; so I wasted no time to see her again!

"I can't believe they lost her in the first place! They have more warriors than we do, and yet they still managed to lose their Prime!" I ranted to my twin.

"I'm mad too Sunny. But, they found her and she's coming home. So let's put it behind us and see Lucy." Sides commented. We were both fuming at those stupid Wreckers, but she's coming home. Sides has always been the calmer twin, he's always able to calm me down before I do something stupid….. Most of the time…..

"Yeah I get it Sides. What's taking Hide so long anyway? It's been hours!" It was true, we were told Hide had found Lucinda nearly five hours ago; they should have been here by now!

"Well… Maybe they had to meet Optimus first? He is her brother, he's just making sure she's okay Sunny? Alright? I'm worried too, but please just stay calm."

I was about to say something else, until three sad looking bots walked into the training room where Sides and I were waiting.

"Hey! What's with the long faces mech's?"

"Prowl? Jazz? Rhythm….. What's happened?"

The three of them looked at each other before looking back at us looking slightly…. Guilty?

"Boys…. Hide just reported back to Optimus. He said… That they're not coming home boys."

"What… what do you mean they're not coming back?" Sideswipe asked carefully?

"He said there was something they had to do, they won't be coming back anytime soon I'm sorry to say." Prowl said with sorrow.

Back to the Present

Eight whole years since we found out that Lucinda Prime was not returning back home, back to us…. Back to me.

Being away from her was painful enough, but when she was announced missing…. I never felt so hurt, I regretted not telling her how I felt sooner. I made a promise that day, that if… when she was returned to us, that I would tell her how incredible she made me feel. That I wanted her to be with me for the rest of our lives. Forever.

I wasn't just me who felt the need to find her like I did. Sideswipe never gave up either, it's probably the bond between us. Side's was the only one who knew what I felt, he feels my passion; so it kinda gives him that passion too.

I can feel him too, it's almost like he feels the same way I do about Lucy….. Like exactly the same. I need to talk to him about it, but for now we're waiting on Prime.

"Thank you for meeting with me Sunstreaker." Optimus said walking up behind me.

"Sure. What's this about anyway?"

"As you know. Ironhide and Lucinda have been away for the last…."

"The last eight years I know. What's that got to do with anyway?" I interrupted.

Optimus folded his arms over each other and continued.

"After all this time, they're finally returning to us."

What? Does that mean…..

"They're returning? She's…. coming home?" I said coming out more as a whisper.

"Ironhide comm'd me yesterday explaining the situation. They should be here within the hour." The Prime said with a smile on his faceplates. I looked into his optics to see if he was lying, but all I saw was honesty.

"You're telling the truth. Lucinda's coming here? Now?!" I asked excitedly.

He just nodded, the smile not faltering away.

I didn't need to hear anymore before I just ran out the base and waited outside by the main entrance.

:Sunny? Sunny what's going on? Your spark is pumping like crazy:

:She's back Sides. I'm at the gate:

:On my way:

Sides knew I wouldn't lie about Lucinda, he didn't need to hear anymore either.

I think it took less than thirty seconds before my twin was stood right next to me, we glanced at each other before staring out to the entrance.

Then all of a sudden, the gates opened to the fullest and a certain black Topkick drove threw into optic view.

Sideswipe and I transformed into our vehicles and brought our holoforms to life and waited for a door, any of the doors to open. Ironhide came out first, he nodded to the both of us before getting some stuff from his backseats.

We just waited. Begging for her to put us out of our misery and show herself, I felt like I couldn't wait much more!

That is until a certain Prime was in clear sight. She hadn't changed a bit, well except with the slight glow she had radiating of her.

"Hello again. It's been a while huh?"

She didn't need to wait for an answer when I almost tackled her to the ground. I couldn't say anything, I just needed to hold her; that's all I ever wanted.

"Lucy!" Sides yelled before joining our embrace (which he could have waited for!) So our moment became a group hug….

"Momma? Who are they?"
