Chapter 19
Previously
Sideswipe and I transformed into our vehicles and brought our holoforms to life and waited for a door, any of the doors to open. Ironhide's holoform came out first, he nodded to the both of us before getting some stuff from his backseats.
We just waited. Begging for her to put us out of our misery and show herself, I felt like I couldn't wait much more!
That is until a certain Prime was in clear sight. She hadn't changed a bit, well except with the slight glow she had radiating of her.
"Hello again. It's been a while huh?"
She didn't need to wait for an answer when I almost tackled her to the ground. I couldn't say anything, I just needed to hold her; that's all I ever wanted.
"Lucy!" Sides yelled before joining our embrace (which he could have waited for!) So our moment became a group hug….
"Momma? Who are they?"
Momma?!
And now….
Still Sunstreaker's POV
All these thoughts just kept rushing through my mind, too many to concentrate on. I mean… How on Primus could this be happening? I know Lucinda Prime like the back of my palm, and I know she didn't have a sparkmate or a sparkling!
I'm pretty sure I would have known!
Right?
The three of us broke from our embrace and just focused our optics on the sparkling, well just about a youngling in Ironhide's arms looking right back at me and my twin. Just as confused as we are!
Lucinda just smiled and plucked the youngling from her father and turned back over to me and Sides, still smiling gently between the three of us while Ironhide hung back watching us slightly amused.
Stupid fragger… Glad to see he's enjoying himself!
"Sideswipe, Sunstreaker…. There's someone very special I want you to meet. Boys, this is Everest. Everest, these are my closet friends Sideswipe and Sunstreaker."
Even though the love of my life who's been missing the last eight years was talking, I just kept zoning out to figure out the kid she was holding. And it's pretty strange, but he kinda looks like somebot I've met….
"….Hello." The youngli… I mean Everest whispered to us. Still looking at us while trying to hide in Lucinda's arms… or should I say his mother's arms!
I guess Sides could feel the tension and confusion, so he decides to break it by the one thing Sideswipe is no good at.
Awkward laughter. Idiot.
"Hey there little guy… So Lucy, guess you've been busy. Heh" Sides said while looking between the mother and child in front of us.
"Yeah, I guess I have a lot of explaining to do." She said bashfully.
"You do not need to explain anything to them Lucinda." Ironhide butted in. Oh so now he speaks!
"What? The pair of you have been missing for over eight years, and you think we don't need an explanation?" I said as carefully and calmly as I could in this situation, when really I'm about to scream.
"We will. Once we have everyone gathered round inside." He said, emphasizing on 'inside'. Even though we're past the gates to Autobot Headquarters, spies or any kind of bots could be listening or watching.
Before we could say anything else, the stubborn bot transformed and swooped Lucinda and Everest in his palm and began making his way inside the building.
I turned to like at Sides as he turned to look at me, he just shrugged and transformed too. Guess we'll have to wait a little longer.
What the pit has happened Lucy? What have you done?
Lucinda's POV
I sat silently on Dad's palm holding Everest close to my own spark, trying to block the frustration Dad was sending in our bond.
Dad has never had much or any patience since I was sparked, but today he seemed liked he had just lost all patience he ever had. I'll speak to him later once Everest is asleep and out if hearing view.
I looked down to my precious in my arms, looking like he was holding back a yawn.
"Sleepy little one?" I gently asked.
"A little. Momma?"
"Hmm?"
"Is this where you and Grandpa used to live?"
A gruff laugh answered before I could; we looked up at Ironhide chuckling at us.
"This is where we both trained Everest. This is where we learned everything we need to know about being an Autobot."
"Woah. Really?"
"Indeed, this is also where your mother learned how to become a Prime."
"Like Uncle Optimus you told me about?" His little optics brightened, he loves it when Dad or myself speak about Optimus Prime. I think he has a new little fan!
"Yes dear. And maybe one day, you could learn about being a Prime too."
"Yeah! Then I can tell Grandpa what to do!"
"Watch it youngling! You may be my Grandspark, but I will not hesitate to teach you a lesson." He teased to Everest, we all know Everest does that already!
Everest only giggled back to his Grandfather, knowing he had him wrapped around his little fingers.
From being that new-born I held in my arms eight years ago, he still had his new-born features. His dark blue hair still kept its colour but grew in length; it went just below his ears, at times covering the top of his optics. I insisted on a haircut, but he said he likes it the way it is. Everest does always say he loves the feeling when I brush his hair, it was calming for the both of us. His optics were a very bright blue around the pupil (like mine) but then went a more violet colour around the outside of it.
It wasn't long before the doors to the main hall opened and welcomed us inside. All optics were on the three of us as Dad walked in with pride, not much did knock his confidence down.
"It has been a long time." A voice spoke out. My older brother came to the front of the crowd and smiled down both I and his nephew with love and pride. "Welcome home."
"Thank you Optimus." I smiled brightly up at him.
"Glad to be back Prime." Ironhide said, nodding back to Optimus.
Optimus crouched down slightly so he was closer to Everest and I. Everest could stop but smile at the much bigger bot, which was a little odd since Everest is quite a shy youngling compared to us.
"Greetings Everest. Do you know who I am?"
"Yes sir, my uncle!"
"Indeed Everest. You may call me Uncle if you wish."
"Okay!" I have never seen him so excited to speak to another soul since the day he was sparked! I think the two of them well get on perfectly.
"Let's begin this meeting." Optimus spoke out to everybot in the room. Before we had arrived, Dad explained to me what he would say and to leave it to him.
"We won't keep you long. Just to say that both myself and Lucinda are relieved to be back and to welcome to newest addition to our family. Dad said while lifting us higher for optic view. "Lucinda Prime was blessed eight years ago by Primus himself, by giving her a sparkling of her on. He is a gift we all must protect now and forever. Meet Everest Prime."
Surprised gasps filled the room with murmurs. I only hoped they wouldn't ask too many questions…
"Welcome back Little Prime!"
"Thank you Uncle Jazz. Glad to be home, where we belong."
A few hours later
"I think it's time this little one recharged." Dad said while clutching Everest close to his spark, slowly drifting off.
"Nuh uh. Not… sleepy." He mumbled out until falling completely asleep.
"Daddy. Would you mind taking care of him for a little while? I just need to speak to the twins."
He grunted and walked back to our room we have in Headquarters. He still didn't like the twins too much, that hadn't changed in eight years!
I ran as fast as I could to their rooms, they left a little while ago without saying a word to anybot. I bang the door a few times and waited.
"Oh. Hey Lucy." Sideswipe said looking down at me.
"Hi Sideswipe. Can I come in?"
He nodded and closed the door behind us before lifting me up to his berth. Sunny came over once Sideswipe and I and sat down.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you I was leaving or about Everest, I was just scared I guess."
"Oh what?" The asked at the same time, I've missed that!
"That… you wouldn't see me like I was before."
"Because you're a parent now?"
"Exactly. I want to explain, but there's things I can't. Believe me there's no other bot I want to talk to about this with besides the pair of you."
"We get it Lucy."
"Yeah! Guess you've been through a lot. Just… promise us one thing?"
"Of course?"
"Will you tell us someday?"
I smiled and let out a little chuckle before saying to the twins-
"I swear upon the Alspark."
The both transformed into their holoforms and hugged me close, like they never wanted to let go.
"We missed you Lucy."
"I missed you too. More than you'll ever know."
I'm glad we can move forward; it's been so long! I only wonder what the future will hold for us now.
