I edited this chap a bit coz i just noticed that it was actually incomplete
It was a weekend, one of those rare days when Rin is home. Mom Matsuoka was just sitting across Rin, as they ate their lunch together, just the two of them since Gou was sound asleep that time. His son was unaware of her firm scrutinizing gaze on him.
That is, not until she spoke,
"So, how far have you gone with Gou-chan?"
Rin, who was in the midst of chewing a big chunk of beef, threw up everything inside his mouth….almost. If not for that miraculous split second that had him think it would more practical to just swallow and leave it all to adrenaline rush than to mess up the dining table. After all, he's the type of person who promotes cleanliness and proper table manners.
Though unfortunately, he was not able to think that a mass as big as that may not be able to pass his throat smoothly. And Rin could swear he almost saw the other side of the world.
After drinking an ample amount of water, he calmed down. He had to calm down. Inhale, exhale. He should get used with his mom's personality, but damn this life, he still can't. He just can't.
So battling with his mom's firm gaze on him, he spoke, "Mom, I know we're you're going with that question. So it would be better if you would stop."
"But I'm just worried….."
"Just eat, Mom."
"….that you're not using any birth control procedur—"
Rin, who was then drinking the remaining water in his glass, had swallowed it in one gulp on a reflex. He saw the door to the next life for the second time today.
He then took a mental note, not to eat or drink anything whenever he would talk to his mom; if he really treasures his life.
He sighed and said,"And why would we even need to use that?"
"Eh?",she tilted her head," But Gou has been delayed for 3 weeks."
"Huh? Delayed with what?"
"Her period! She might be PREGN—"
"MOOOOM!",He sharply replied with a louder voice this time, he just pinched the middle of his brows and sighed, "Listen here mom, Gou and I had never done anything that would lead to that. And how many shall I tell you that we're just normal siblings. Okay?"
As though an idea popped in her head, she tapped her palm, "Ohhh. Then it's a different guy?"
"NO WAY IN HELL. I WON'T LET ANY FILTHY GUY TOUCH GOU."
Rin shouted and slammed the table in full force that his palms were almost swollen with the impact. After realizing what he had just done, he sat down and yet again, calm himself.
Hypertension certainly didn't run on the blood of Matsuokas, as far as he knew. They were healthy individuals and even athletic. But maybe he should recheck their family history because right at this moment, he could clearly feel his blood pressure rising from stress.
"So, it's really you?"
It was his face that was smacked by his now swollen palms.
"Uggh. NO!"
Her mom held his shoulder with tenderness, "Rin."
He took off his hands and faced his mother.
"Never forget pre-natal check-ups. Remember that the 4th – 6th month is the only safe months for you guys to do it."
He didn't have the energy to retort anymore. Yeah, mothers are indeed natural worrywarts. They worry about every trivial detail from his undergarments to his shirts, everything.
He could only sigh.
"And the position should b—"
With right timing, as though she had come there to save her brother from distress, Gou entered the kitchen in the midst of their mom's lecture/advice or whatever it I, and greeted everyone in the room with a soft yawn.
Mom Matsuoka stared at her daughter," Oh! Speaking of the devil! Hi there, Gou-chan!"
Still feeling groggy, she responded, "Hi mom." And looked at her, then to her brother, who couldn't look straight to her (How could he when they just talked about her, and it was not just some normal topic.), "Hi Onii-ch—"
Then there was a gag-like sound, and the next thing Rin and their mom knew, Gou was already by the sink releasing everything inside her.
Rin immediately went to her, and rubbed her back in circles to soothe her (together with an unnecessary holding of her hand.)
He turned back his head to call his mother, "Moooom! Get us a glass of w—"
But what he saw was her retreating back going out of the kitchen.
"MOOOOM! Where are you going?" he asked.
And she looked back, with a panicked face she replied, "I'm going to make a list of potential names for my grandchild…..or children!" and she was out of the kitchen.
"HUUUUUUH?!"
Then came back with her head peeking, "OMG. Should I call the OBgynie first?"
If only Rin could facesink, he'd do it at that moment.
Though much to Mom Matsuoka's dismay, it was just dysmenorrhea in Gou's first day of menstruation.
Ogawd. I'm loving this Mom Matsuoka.
Reviews and suggestions are much appreciated~!
