A month later, Gabriella was eight months pregnant. Troy had been getting the baby's room ready and making sure everything was in it's place. Dr. Green had made an appointment for Gabriella to be induced. The couple was scared because they didn't know what to expect, but they knew that they were going to get through it together. One night, Gabriella was packing her hospital bag because the next day was the day that she would be induced. Troy came into the master bedroom and smiled. He kissed Gabriella's cheek softly.
"Do you need any help honey?" Troy asked.
"No, I think I have everything packed" Gabriella said.
Troy smiled. He wrapped his arms around Gabriella and kissed her lips softly.
"How are you feeling about tomorrow?" Troy asked.
"Scared" Gabriella said truthfully.
"Me too. But, everything is going to be okay. Dr. Green knows what she is doing" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded.
"Is Nat asleep?" Gabriella asked.
"Yeah, come on. You need to get some sleep" Troy said.
The couple got into bed. Troy kissed Gabriella's lips softly.
"I love you" Troy said.
"I love you too" Gabriella said.
"Our last night as a family of three" Troy said.
Gabriella smiled and put her hand on her bump. Troy put his hand on top of Gabriella's.
"I can't wait to meet you Juliana" Troy said.
Gabriella smiled. The couple fell asleep. The next morning, Gabriella woke up and saw that Troy was no longer in bed. She sighed.
"Troy?" Gabriella called.
Troy came into the room and smiled.
"Good morning honey" Troy said kissing Gabriella's lips.
"Morning" Gabriella said.
"My mom just picked Nat up and she said she will keep her until we come home" Troy said.
Gabriella smiled.
"Are you excited?" Troy asked.
"Yeah" Gabriella said.
Troy looked at the clock on the bedside table.
"What time are we supposed to be at the hospital?" Troy asked.
"Eleven" Gabriella said.
"Okay, you better get up" Troy said.
Gabriella got out of bed and walked to her closet and picked out an outfit. She walked into the bathroom and took a shower. Twenty minutes later, Gabriella emerged from the bathroom.
"Are you ready to go?" Troy asked.
"Yeah" Gabriella said.
Troy leaned in and kissed Gabriella's lips.
"I love you so much" Troy said.
Gabriella smiled.
"I love you too" Gabriella said.
The couple left the house and Troy drove to the hospital. He parked his car and walked to Gabriella's side and helped her get out. The couple entwined their fingers together and walked into the hospital and got into the elevator and went to the third floor. Troy and Gabriella got out of the elevator and walked to the front desk.
"What's your name?" the receptionist asked.
"Gabriella Bolton" Gabriella said.
"Alright, have a seat and someone will call you" the receptionist said.
Troy and Gabriella walked over to a group of chairs and sat down. Troy took Gabriella's hand in his.
"How are you feeling?" Troy asked.
"Nervous" Gabriella said.
Troy smiled. Tears ran down Gabriella's face.
"Baby, don't cry" Troy said.
"I can't help it" Gabriella said.
Troy kissed Gabriella's cheek softly.
"Everything is going to be fine. I promise" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded. A woman with blonde hair and who was probably in her thirties came into the waiting room with a file.
"Gabriella Bolton?" the nurse called.
Troy stood up and helped Gabriella stand up. He kissed Gabriella's lips softly.
"I love you" Troy said.
"I love you too" Gabriella said.
The couple walked over to the nurse. They followed her into a hospital room. The nurse closed the door behind them and looked at the couple.
"Okay Gabriella, you are being induced today correct?" the nurse asked.
"Yes" Gabriella said.
"Alright, please change into this gown. Take your bra and underwear off and Dr. Green will be in shortly" the nurse said.
Gabriella nodded. The nurse left the room. Gabriella looked at Troy. Troy looked at Gabriella and smiled. Gabriella changed into the gown and sat on the hospital bed.
"Are you nervous?" Gabriella asked.
Troy nodded.
"But everything will be okay honey. Don't worry" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded. There was a knock on the door and Dr. Green came into the room.
"Hi guys. Are we excited to finally meet baby Bolton?" Dr. Green asked happily.
"Yeah but I wish it wasn't this early" Gabriella said putting her hand on her bump.
"She is in good hands, Gabi. She's the perfect size and fully developed" Dr. Green said.
The couple nodded.
"I am going to give you some medication to start the contractions okay?" Dr. Green said.
"Okay" Gabriella said.
Dr. Green washed her hands and inserted an IV into Gabriella's arm. She then made sure the medication drip was connected.
"You are all set. I will come in and check on you in a little while" Dr. Green said.
"Okay, thank you" Gabriella said.
Dr. Green left the room. Troy took Gabriella's hand in his.
"Sleep while you can babe" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded and closed her eyes. Two hours later, Troy was watching TV when he heard Gabriella moan. Her first contraction. It also meant that labor started. He looked over at Gabriella and took her hand in his.
"Breathe sweetheart. It's okay" Troy said as he rubbed her lower back.
Gabriella breathed through the contraction and relaxed after it finished.
"Well, you are in labor" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded.
"I feel like I am going to be in labor forever" Gabriella said putting her hand on her stomach.
Troy smiled.
"You just started honey. Just relax" Troy said.
Gabriella closed her eyes again. Troy kissed Gabriella's hand. Two hours later, there was a knock on the door. Dr. Green came into the room and smiled.
"How's everything going?" Dr. Green asked.
"Contractions have started" Gabriella said tiredly.
Dr. Green smiled.
"How far apart are they?" Dr. Green asked.
"Seven minutes" Gabriella said.
"Okay. I need to check you and see where you are at" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella spread her legs apart. Dr. Green checked Gabriella and came up smiling.
"You are at three" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella nodded.
"How's the pain?" Dr. Green asked.
"It's okay right now. It's not too bad" Gabriella said.
Troy smiled.
"Good, I will come back to check on you soon" Dr. Green said.
"Okay" Gabriella said.
Dr. Green left the room. Gabriella closed her eyes and started to breathe heavily. Troy rubbed her stomach in soothing circles.
"You are doing great honey. You are almost halfway" Troy said.
Once the contraction was over, Gabriella looked at Troy tiredly.
"Is it getting more painful?" Troy asked.
"A little bit. She's moving down and that hurts" Gabriella said.
"I wish I could do this for you" Troy said.
Gabriella smiled. She put her hand on Troy's face and rubbed her thumb across his cheek.
"Thank you for being the best husband and father in the world" Gabriella said randomly.
Troy smiled.
"Thank you for being the best mother and wife in the world baby. You have the hardest job. You go through all of the pains and aches just so we can add a member to our family" Troy said.
Gabriella smiled but her expression quickly turned to pained. She grabbed Troy's hand and squeezed her eyes shut.
"Deep breaths sweetie" Troy coached.
Gabriella breathed deeply until the contraction ended.
"That was a big one" Gabriella said.
"Yeah, I think that was the biggest one so far" Troy said.
"Do you think that Nat will like the baby?" Gabriella asked.
"I think she will love her Brie" Troy said.
"You don't think she will think that we don't love her anymore?" Gabriella asked.
"No, she knows that we love her so much" Troy said.
Gabriella put her hand on her bump and closed eyes.
"Are you having another one?" Troy asked.
Gabriella nodded slowly as she started to breathe heavily.
"You are doing great honey. Just keep breathing" Troy said rubbing her back.
Gabriella breathed through the contraction. After it was over, she relaxed against the bed. Troy kissed Gabriella's cheek softly.
"They are starting to get closer together" Gabriella said.
"Yeah" Troy said.
There was a knock on the door and Dr. Green came into the room.
"Hi guys, how are you feeling Gabriella?" Dr. Green asked.
"I feel okay" Gabriella said.
"I need to check you" Dr. Green said.
"Okay" Gabriella said spreading her legs apart.
Dr. Green sat on the edge of the bed. She lifted the sheet that was covering Gabriella's legs and examined her.
"You are at five, Gabi. Do you want the epidural?" Dr. Green asked.
Gabriella shook her head.
"No" Gabriella said.
Troy looked at Gabriella and was shocked that she turned down the epidural.
"Baby, are you sure?" Troy asked.
"I don't want her to come out drugged, Troy. She is going to have to go through a lot later and I don't want to start putting things into her system" Gabriella said.
"But you are in pain" Troy said.
"I don't care if I am in pain. My focus is the baby" Gabriella said.
"Alright" Troy said.
"Okay, I will see you guys in a little while" Dr. Green said.
Dr. Green left the room. Troy looked at Gabriella.
"I would rather feel the pain than have more drugs in her system" Gabriella said.
"Okay" Troy said.
The next couple of hours went by slowly and Gabriella was drowning in agonizing pain.
"Take nice deep breaths baby" Troy said as he put his hand on Gabriella's bump.
Gabriella breathed deeply and gripped Troy's hand. After the contraction ended, Gabriella relaxed her grip on Troy's hand.
"You are doing so well babe" Troy said.
"I want her out" Gabriella said.
"I know you do. She's almost here" Troy said.
There was a knock on the door and Dr. Green came into the room.
"How's everything going?" Dr. Green asked.
"Okay" Gabriella said.
"I need to check you" Dr. Green said.
"Okay" Gabriella said spreading her legs apart.
"You are at nine" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella nodded.
"I am going to start getting things ready and I will come back and we will start pushing" Dr. Green said.
"Okay" Gabriella said.
Dr. Green left the room. Troy looked at Gabriella.
"She's almost here" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded painfully. A couple of nurses came into the room and started getting things ready for when the baby came. Dr. Green came back into the room.
"Let me check you and see how things are going" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella spread her legs apart. Dr. Green checked Gabriella and smiled.
"You are fully dilated, Gabi. On the next contraction, I want you to push okay? Troy, you need to hold her leg and the nurse will hold the other one" Dr. Green instructed.
Gabriella nodded. Troy held Gabriella's leg and the nurse held the other one. Gabriella started breathing heavily.
"Are you having a contraction?" Dr. Green asked.
Gabriella nodded.
"Okay, take a deep breath and push Gabi" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella pushed hard and cried. Troy kissed Gabriella's head softly. He put his hand on the back of her head, to ease the delivery.
"Good job sweetheart" Troy said.
Gabriella fell back against the bed.
"It hurts" Gabriella said looking at her husband.
"I know honey. It's almost over" Troy said.
Gabriella felt another contraction and took a deep breath and pushed.
"You are doing great Gabriella" Dr. Green said.
This went on for an hour and a half. Gabriella's face was dark red and had sweat dripping from it and she was exhausted. Troy had been the best at encouraging Gabriella to push. He knew that she was in a lot of pain.
"Babe, she's almost out" Troy said.
Gabriella pushed hard and screamed in pain.
"Ow" Gabriella cried.
"Her head is almost out, Gabi" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella pushed without any instruction and had tears running down her face. Troy wiped her tears away.
"Good push, baby" Troy said.
"One more push and her head will be out" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella pushed hard and screamed.
"Her head is out. Don't push yet" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella sighed in relief but then looked at Dr. Green. Troy kissed Gabriella's cheek softly.
"Why can't I push? I need to push" Gabriella cried.
"Baby, just relax. Everything is okay" Troy soothed.
After another minute, Dr. Green looked at Gabriella.
"Alright, Gabi. Just a couple more pushes and she will be out" Dr. Green said.
"I can't push anymore" Gabriella said breathlessly.
"Baby, yes you can. She's almost out" Troy said.
Gabriella took a deep breath and pushed hard. She fell against the bed.
"One more push Gabriella and she will be out" Dr. Green said.
"I can't do it. I'm too tired" Gabriella said cried.
"Baby, listen to me. You can do this. You just need to push one more time and she will be out" Troy said.
"It's hurts Troy" Gabriella said.
"I know it does honey. You need to push so the baby can come out" Troy said.
Gabriella took a deep breath and looked at Dr. Green.
"I'm ready" Gabriella said.
"Alright Gabi, one more push and she will be out" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella took a deep breath and pushed. She felt the baby leave her body. Dr. Green put the baby on Gabriella's chest. Gabriella looked down and cried when she saw her daughter for the first time.
"Hi Juliana" Gabriella said looking at her daughter.
Gabriella put her hand on her daughter's head. She immediately saw Juliana's swollen head. Gabriella kissed her daughter's head softly.
"Troy, do you want to cut the cord?" Dr. Green asked.
"Sure" Troy said.
Troy took the scissors out of Dr. Green's hand and cut the cord.
"Alright, we need to take her to get checked out Gabriella" the nurse said.
The nurse took Juliana out of Gabriella's arms and walked away. Gabriella looked at Troy and smiled.
"You did great honey" Troy said.
"Thank you. Did you see her head?" Gabriella asked.
"A little bit. We have to find a surgeon for her" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded and closed her eyes.
"Tired?" Troy asked.
Gabriella nodded. The nurse brought Juliana back to Gabriella and placed her into her arms.
"Hi baby" Gabriella said.
"She looks like you babe" Troy said.
"I think she looks like you" Gabriella said.
"Is she healthy?" Troy asked.
"Yes. She's completely healthy. I will give you the number of the surgeon before you leave" Dr. Green said.
"Okay" Gabriella said.
Dr. Green examined Gabriella.
"You need to push one last time so the placenta can be delivered Gabi" Dr. Green said.
Gabriella pushed and instantly felt relief.
"All done. Congratulations guys" Dr. Green said.
"Thank you" the couple said.
Dr. Green and the nurses left the room.
"Do you want to hold her Troy?" Gabriella asked.
"Of course" Troy said.
Gabriella carefully placed Juliana into Troy's arms. Troy looked down and smiled at his daughter.
"Hi Juliana, I'm your daddy" Troy said.
Gabriella smiled. Troy kissed Juliana's head softly.
"Are you going to breastfeed?" Troy asked.
Gabriella nodded.
"Yeah, it's better for her" Gabriella said.
"Should I call my parents and tell them that Juliana is here?" Troy asked.
"You can if you want to" Gabriella said.
"Okay" Troy said.
Troy carefully placed Juliana into Gabriella's arms and kissed her head.
"I will be right back" Troy said.
Troy left the room. Gabriella looked at Juliana and smiled. She pulled down her gown and placed Juliana to her breast and watched her latch on. Gabriella put her hand on Juliana's head and sighed. She didn't think that Juliana's head would be that swollen. Gabriella thoughts were interrupted when Troy walked into the room.
"Do you want me to step out while you breast feed?" Troy asked.
"No, you are fine" Gabriella said.
"How's she doing?" Troy asked.
"Fine. Her head is so swollen" Gabriella said.
Troy put his finger under Gabriella's chin and brought it down so he was looking directly into her eyes.
"Hey, don't think about that right now babe. Just be happy that she is here and that she is healthy" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded.
"What did your parents say?" Gabriella asked.
"They are happy that she is here and that is she is healthy. Nat said that she misses you" Troy said.
"I miss her too" Gabriella said.
Juliana pulled away from Gabriella. Gabriella picked Juliana up and patted her back until she burped.
"When are your parents going to bring Nat?" Gabriella asked.
"They said that they would bring her tonight" Troy said.
"Okay" Gabriella said.
"Maybe you should get some rest Brie. You have had a long day" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded. She looked down at Juliana and smiled. Troy walked over to the bed and carefully took Juliana out of Gabriella's arms.
"Get some sleep" Troy said.
Gabriella closed her eyes and fell asleep. Two hours later, Gabriella opened her eyes slowly and looked around the room.
"Hey sleepyhead" Troy said.
Gabriella looked at her husband and smiled.
"How are you feeling?" Troy asked as he put his hand on Gabriella's deflated stomach.
"A little sore but I feel fine" Gabriella said.
Troy kissed Gabriella's lips softly.
"My mom is going to bring Nat in a couple minutes" Troy said.
Gabriella nodded.
"Where's Juliana?" Gabriella asked.
"She's right there" Troy said pointing to the bassinet that was next to the bed.
Gabriella looked into the bassinet and smiled.
"She looks so peaceful" Gabriella said.
"Yeah. She barely cried when you were asleep" Troy said.
"That's good, I think" Gabriella said.
Troy smiled.
"Do you want to hold her?" Troy asked.
Gabriella nodded. Troy carefully picked his daughter up and carried her over to Gabriella. He placed Juliana into Gabriella's arms.
"Hi baby girl" Gabriella said.
There was a knock on the door and Troy walked over to it and opened the door, revealing his mother and Nat.
"Hi guys" Troy said as he took Natalie into his arms.
"Congratulations guys" Lucille said.
"Thank you" the couple said.
"What's her name?" Lucille asked.
"Juliana Bolton" Troy said.
"It's beautiful" Lucille said.
"Nat, do you want to meet your sister?" Troy asked looking down at his daughter.
Natalie nodded. Troy, Lucille, and Nat walked into the hospital room. Troy walked over to the bed and sat down in his previously seat.
"Nat, meet your sister Juliana" Troy said.
"Sister?" Natalie asked.
"Yeah honey, that's your baby sister" Troy said.
Gabriella smiled as she watched Natalie's reaction. The rest of the day the Bolton family got to know their new addition.
