I am so sorry guys. I have been so freakishly busy and I am stressed with my college class(es). So sorry that this chapter is short, but hey I posted something!
Ana was going to get what she wanted. Two days after leaving the hospital, Ana and Christian (with Flynn of course) drove down to King County Jail. Christian begrudgingly capitulated after many outbursts and fights.
"Let me have closure, Christian. We can all move on," was Ana's final argument. Christian was flagged and gave in.
The car ride was quite besides the soft hum of the car. Christian and Ana hadn't been intimate since their fight, not even a hug. They went to bed murmuring a few words and turned their backs from each other. Christian had learned that he lost his touch of intimidation, his sexpertise lacked when he tried to get her to come back to him. He longed to simply intertwine his fingers with hers, a small omen saying that everything is ok. He decided had to be patient and give her space. Never in a million years did he expect Ana to overrule his judgment. And now as they got closer and closer to the jail, his stomach dropped.
Taylor shifted the car into parked and came around to open everyone's door. Once they were all out, Ana came and stood next to Christian. Softly she slipped her hand into his, causing his eyebrows to rise and his attention to turn to her. She gave him a thankful smile and an encouraging squeeze. Trying to steady his pulse from the closest contact with Ana he's had for two days, he smiled a dazzling grin, glad he finally made her happy. After going through security, the time came when they were seated to speak with Jennifer. It was decided that Flynn, Ana, and Taylor would be in the room, while Christian and Sawyer were behind the glass wall, observing.
After a loud buzz, a scraggly looking Jennifer was pushed in the door, her hands handcuffed behind her back. Her brown hair was greasy and dark circles were under her eyes. When she saw Ana sitting there, an unbelievable laugh escaped. "You've got to be kidding me."
"Hello Jennifer." Ana said simply, determination in her eyes.
After sitting down, Flynn cleared his throat. "Ana has come her today to ask you a few questions. And if you can't be civil enough to answer them, you will be removed, do you understand."
"Loud and Clear, shrink-dink," Jennifer responded, poking a bit of fun at Dr. Flynn.
Ana took a deep breath. "Jennifer, I want to know exactly why you felt the need to take my daughter was the right decision."
"He owed me, simple as that. You know Ana, when I first heard you and Christian were getting married and I saw your picture, I thought you were actually pretty. But obviously, I was wrong. I mean you may look good on paper, but you just look like a boring creature, which I'm sure you actually are boring!" Behind the glass, Christian clenched his teeth and fists.
Ana merely smiled at the comment. "You don't scare me Jennifer. I've been through many of Christian's exes, and you're just another bitch I have to go through. Not a big deal to me. So, do you have anything to say?"
Jennifer's expression broke as she took a shaky breath. Sobs wracked her chest, as she looked away. "I just wanted a child."
Ana's expression changed as sympathy overwhelmed her. "I'm sorry that you went through what you did. I couldn't imagine."
"I don't know why I took Maddie. I have always been a good person. I never wanted to hurt her. I loved her so much. It felt okay in my mind, but I see now that I was wrong. Ana I'm sorry. Forgive me, Mrs. Grey."
Compassion overwhelmed Ana and she stood and crossed over to her. Laying her hand over Jennifer's, she kindly whispered. "I forgive you. You don't have to live in guilt."
Jennifer looked up at Ana, her chin wobbling. She placed her other hand on top, sandwiching Ana's. Looking up, she kept eye contact as she suddenly twisted Ana's arm hard, almost completely out of socket. Laughing menacingly, Jennifer spoke. "Did you really think it was over, you little whore? I have one final trick! Be ready!" The security pulled her out of the conference room, leaving a frightened Ana. Christian came rushing in, pulling Ana into an embrace.
Lifting her face gently, he looked down at her, checking to see if she was alright. She gave a small nod before Christian's lips crashed onto hers. "Don't worry, baby. It's going to be al right."
Hey! I have decided that because I am too busy and out of ideas that I have about 2 chapter left, so hopefully, I can sum it up and close this story. Review and tell me how much you hate me for taking so long… I deserve it.
