Guest: Bore me? Other than what you said, I never thought about the other parallels between Naruto and Papyrus, oh do tell

Quest: You know what? I was thinking of doing a spin off with Sasuke as the lead to coincide with this story, I might actually do it

I think everyone knows the Naruto element of this story (jutsu, jinchuriki, Sasuke chasing) is vague by choice. Even if I put Naruto into a position where he knows how to use jutsu and chakra he could only use the powers so many times with so many people it would be almost pointless to implement them.

So I'm really going to focus in the Kurama aspect which I had planned to only be used during the genocide path...I changed my mind. How you ask, when Naruto can only go beast mode in extreme emotion, well I say there are abundant ways to bypass that silly rule.

Chapter 7: Cascade

After finally getting back from Grillby's, Naruto went towards the far edge of the stream right beside a gushing waterfall. "...yep. This looks like a good spot." He briefly fiddled with his zipper then pulled it down.

*psssss

'Damn it, now I'm hungry again...maybe I should've eaten than hamburger after-' Naruto felt something vibrate in his pocket. '...huh what is that?'

*ssss-

Reaching in his pocket, he pulled out the junky box Toriel gave him and held it to his ear. "Whaddya want?" He grumbled.

"HI HUMAN!" A wide grin grew when he realized who it was.

"Short story long, I slipped my number into your cell phone while you were knocked out, so now we can talk all day...well not all day, I have to go somewhere, but when I come back we can talk for a good-amount-of-time day!"

'Heh, he can give me with all the puzzle answers I want!' "Yeah-yeah, I'll be waiting!"

Naruto walked by Sans' second sentry station where he was back to dozing off. "Still no sign of Monster kid..." He said in a tone slightly louder than a mutter. "...that kid's probably off having all the fun with Undyne..."

His walk ended at the edge of the boardwalk, a step further and he would end up in the collected pool of purple-tinted water. 'I guess I should go ahead but,' Discolored rocks dropped into the water one by one, sounding off a chorus of splashes. 'That doesn't look very...'

"Yo! What's up?!"

Naruto turned, waving his hand. "Hey, Monster kid, you're finally-" With Monster Kid tripping on their feet and ramming in Naruto's stomach, he wasn't able to finish his greeting but instead plummet into the surrounding water.

Monster kid's sheepish smile loomed over Naruto once they got back on their feet. "Hehe, sorry about that, but look on the bright side, at least the water isn't deep?"

"Awesome." Naruto deadpanned, he was able to maneuver out of the water quickly before any rocks could flatten him. He helplessly laid on the boardwalk. 'Now I'm dripping wet, all because of,'

Naruto shot daggers and Monster kid cracked another sheepish smile. "H-hey, that's water under the bridge now...!"

He responded with a vicious smirk. "That won't be the only thing underwater!"

Monster kid slid under Naruto's legs and shot clear across the water. Naruto sighed, all he could see left of Monster kid was a yellow blur. 'That kid sure can run...but...I can run faster!'

The falling rocks dividing touch Naruto as he flew through the water, latching his hands onto the other boardwalk, he threw himself at Monster kid. 'I got him now!' "Have fun being-" Naruto was cut off again from the screams erupting from Monster kid. The two tumbled down a lopsided hill, their rolling eventually stopped in a patch of steep grass.

"...ugh..."

"..."

"Hey, kid, did you say something?" Naruto asked, rubbing the back of his head.

Monster kid rolled onto their back. "No."

Using the nearby wall as leverage, Naruto poked his head out of the grass just high enough to investigate. '...! Papyrus?'

"H-hi Un-undyne!" Papyrus squeaked.

'What...?' Naruto could've sworn he heard a clank of metal, but the shadows were so heavy he couldn't make out anyone beside Papyrus. 'It's probably just Papyrus being weird again.'

"I'm...I'm here with my daily report! Regarding that human I called you about earlier...you know, with the whole sack thing..."

Naruto heard a voice clearly distinct from both Papyrus' and Monster kid's. He nudged Monster kid. "Is that the Undyne lady you were going on about?" He whispered, tried to whisper at least, his racing heart didn't help the fact.

"YEAH THAT'S-" Naruto slapped his hand over Monster kid's mouth. "Shut up!" He hissed.

"...Huh? Did I fight them...? O-of course I did! I fought them valiantly!"

'Doesn't Monster kid know I'm a human?!' Naruto picked up on Papyrus' fast breathing and shuddered. 'If Papyrus can't help me out of this one then...I'll have to...'

"I fought to the best of my abilities, I tried, Undyne, I tried very hard, but I could not capture true him and," He said something muffled Naruto couldn't catch.

"Y-you'll just capture the human's soul yourself?! But, you don't have to kill this human, he's different...he's my...friend!"

"..."

"I can't feel pity, you shouldn't of made friends with our target."

"I...I know."

Papyrus backed away, the familiar sound of his boots scraping against the land subtlety got vaguer each shaky breath. Naruto's hold on Monster kid's mouth fell and he let a pent-up sigh escape. 'She called me a target...shit...she's not like Papyrus. She won't hesitate to kill me.' Naruto took a step forward, skin crawling when the clank of metal followed next.

"Now of all times you get nervous to see Undyne?! Sure, I'm a little scared too, man, but just think, a couple of steps in and we'll finally meet her! I mean, did you see that stare she gave you, it was so AWESOME!" Naruto wouldn't budge. "That's it, I'll go on ahead without you, maybe she'll give me the same stare!"

Monster kid hopped out of grass, their radar vision, as sharp as it was, couldn't pick up any signs of Undyne. "Aw, she left, but that's fine, we'll catch her next time! We'll have plenty of chances to catch her, she lives here after all."

"That's great!" Naruto said disdainfully.

Even with the feeling of dread hanging over Naruto while he followed Monster kid, somehow, he still stayed determined.

OoO

"I don't think this human's like the others...no...I know he isn't like them."

"You're probably right...he heals insanely fast, just like a cockroach. Think he uses one of those hand tricks the humans used on us?"

"No, he's only a kid, a slow kid at that, but I've noticed something more about him. Maybe he's apart of the Uzumaki clan?"

"That would explain a lot, especially if he says he's so lonely. If he truly is an Uzumaki then does that mean..."

"Yeah. He really is a cockroach."

OoO

"So you won't try to solve the puzzle?" Monster kid asked.

"Nope, it's not like I'll finish it."

Naruto slunk a foot inside the narrow water stream that prevented them from going any further. His foot jetted, the water too cold for even his standards. 'But now it doesn't look like I have a choice.'

"You're pretty dense, this one's not even that hard."

"That so? Then you can..." Naruto felt hot breath clawing his neck, he saw the Monster kid's drawn out expression and went stiff. "...Wh-whose behind me?"

"I'm not sure..."

"Hey ya crazy kids, what's shaking?;)" It sounded like a somewhat normal voice for Naruto so he finally had the nerve to turn around, regretting it immediately after.

Aaron was a monster of way too many abs, he practically had abs on his abs, and he wasn't shy in flexing each and every one of them. "You can check out my abs ALL you want!;)"

Monster kid and Naruto's heads never swung away so fast before in their lives. "Are you some kind of sea horse?" Naruto asked, staring intently at the ground.

"No-no, my blonde friend." He brushed toned fingers through his burnt chestnut hair. "I am what you call a mer-horse."

Naruto shook his head. "You look like the type who'd enjoy doing puzzles, wanna solve this one for us?"

"Did I hear you two say you wanted to have a flexing contest with me?;)"

"What."

"I heard a yes!;)"

Aaron's serpent like tail lifted from the floor, he hovered over Naruto and Monster kid and began flexing. Monster kid looked at Naruto. "He won't leave unless you flex with him, do it already."

"You flex with him!"

"...I um...can't do that."

"Fine." Naruto reluctantly flexed his arm.

"Nice! I won't lose tho!;)" Aaron flexed ten times harder.

"We'll see about that!" Naruto flexed eleven times harder.

Aaron's flex was so hard his turn, he flexed himself out of the space-time continuum and into the fifth dimension.

'I'm used to this type of stuff already.' Naruto pulled his sleeves back over his arm. "Ah, no one should flex that hard anyways, now we lost our only way of crossing!"

"That's what you're most concerned about? I told you this was an easy one, I'll tell you what to do." Monster kid walked over to a pile of pink water lilies Naruto mindlessly ignored. "Alright, just pick these up and..." Their next destination was the narrow water crossway. "Put them all here in a single file."

Naruto kept his clueless thoughts to himself and grabbed the water lilies like Monster kid told. One by one, he plopped them in the water. Naruto imagined the water lilies were little soldiers as they made their to the other side of the crossway.

He waited on Monster kid for the next set of directions. "...now, we wait."

It took only mere seconds for the water lilies to absorb all the surrounding water and grow tenfold. The water lilies once only big enough to fit in his hand, now were big enough to walk on.

Naruto's foot pressed on the petal. "This is so cool! It'll be like walking across a bridge!"

'For a monster he gets easily impressed.' "I know right?!" Monster kid ran after him, of course, not without falling a couple times.

Monster kid and Naruto crossed a more realistic bridge and ended up staring at yet another flower puzzle. A long, serpent-like water crossway winded from the bridge all the way to the lavender cave walls serving as the base of the puzzle.

'These puzzles are always a lot harder the second time.' "Just wanna jump over, this one's a lot thinner."

Monster kid nodded and, together, the two easily stepped over the crossway. Well, one easily stepped over the crossway. Monster kid's foot slipped and they fell in the chilling water. "...! MONSTER KID!"

Not a thought passed by and Naruto already plunged himself into the bitter cold water. His mind was stuck on replay, repeating 'move-move-move' over and over, faster and faster every stroke he took.

Shaky hands grabbed Monster kid's tail and yanked them out of the water. "You okay?" Naruto asked. 'He's...surprisingly cal...'

"...yeah. Thanks," Monster kid read Naruto's face like a book. "I kinda expected it to happen."

"Me too."

This time it was Naruto's turn to read his friend's face, though he had more trouble, pinpointing the emotion somewhere in between embarrassment and happiness. "Once you're done drying off and everything, I'll just carry you across."

Monster kid sprung up. "Really? Man, that would be so great!"

"Whatever, just don't get used to it!"

OoO

"What is this place?" Naruto asked, walking into the next room. He gazed at the lights adorned in the cavern ceiling that smothered his skin with a soft blue color. "Stars...but...we're underground."

"They're not stars."

"Then, what are-"

"-Oh wow, look at this!"

Monster kid showed Naruto a glowing flower doused with cyan standing in the corner. "I've heard about these, they're echo flowers."

'Sans told me about echo flowers back at Grillby's,' Naruto leaned in, hoping to catch any traces of sound.

"...I hear something!"

A long time ago, monsters would whisper their wishes to the stars in the sky. If you hoped with all your heart, your wish would come true. Now, all we have are these sparkling stones on the ceiling...

Another echo flower laid close by and he listened closely.

Thousands of people wishing together can't be wrong! The king will prove that.

Then another.

C'mon sis! Make a wish!

Naruto stopped at the last one leaning on the cavern walls.

I wish my sister and I will see the real stars one day...

'I...I hope so too.'

"Yo, I found this cool monster hanging out, he wants to clean you for some reason."

"He wants to wha-" A bar of soap pelted Naruto in the stomach. "-uh, who threw that?!"

"It was me, Woshua!" Woshua. The first monster Naruto encountered who was a literal, walking, talking, soap-hurling bathtub. His putrid green face, if you could call it that, held no expression other than misery. "I'll wosh u SOUL!"

Woshua's wasted no time in shooting bullets of bleach-white water at Naruto. Some of which Naruto dodged, others left Naruto soaking wet on the cold ground.

"H-hey, what're you doing?! That's enough Woshua!" Monster kid cut in.

"Water u doing? I'm just having some good, clean fun."

"It's ok, I can handle him myself!" Naruto reached for the bar of soap lying on the floor. "How about I was YOUR soul this time!"

Woshua excitedly jumped in the air, unknowingly spilling some of his contents. "Would you really?!"

"Uh...sure..." Naruto went over to Woshua and started cleaning through his already clean body. Bathtub body.

"Ooooooh, I'm feeling fresh!"

Woshua felt much better with all the non-existing grime gone. "Don't go too far, I'm coming back so u can clean my filthy friend." Using his turtle like legs, he waddled away in search of his not-so-clean companion.

'That's not happening. Damn freeloader.' Naruto huffed. "Come on, let's go already."

They walked behind the nearest corridor to find an out-of-place dead end. "What? Shouldn't there be a door here somewhere?"

"It could be hidden." Monster kid suggested.

The wall fell apart from Naruto's light tap. "See, what did I tell you." Monster kid and Naruto stepped over the debris, entering a cavern swallowed by darkness.

Their steps began echoing louder off the close walls the farther they wandered inside the cave's mouth. Cattails growing from the abyss made slight cuts in the shadows, indicating they were surrounded by water. "Is this like a fishing place?"

"Not sure, but it seems too dark for anything."

Monster kid and Naruto were drawn towards bright text engraved on the walls. The words just barely legible enough for Naruto to encrypt. "The War of Humans and...Monsters." His voice uncharacteristically dropped, wavering over each word.

"Why did the humans attack? Indeed, it seemed that they had nothing to fear. Humans are unbelievably strong. It would take the soul of nearly every monster just to equal the power of a single human soul."

"But humans have one weakness. Ironically, it is the strength of their soul. Its power allows it to persist outside the human body, even after death. If a monster defeats a human, they can take their soul. A monster with a human soul...a horrible beast with unfathomable power." The last picture depicted an indescribable beast holding many tails.

Silence reeked the air. Not a word spoken from either of the two races.

Monster kid opened their mouth to speak, but was briskly cutoff by Naruto. "There were humans that have fallen down here before, right?"

"Uh-huh."

"You don't think any of them were...ninja."

The word ninja was often treated as a curse word in the Underground. Monster kid solemnly heard it tossed around in conversation, not even with the adults. "I...I'm not so sure what those are anyways. Aren't they like assassins or something?"

"...kind of..." He shook his head. "Forget it, it's not important anyways...come on, let's go."

'This kid's really strange now that I think about it, maybe he reads a lot in his spare time.' "Right."

Monster kid and Naruto boarded a floating piece of driftwood that functioned as the only way to get across the water. Silence, once again, being the usual disease throughout their short trip.

They stepped on the awaiting boardwalks.

*Clank

*CLank

"Hey, you hear that?" Naruto hoarsely whispered.

"All these super tall columns are probably just magnifying some mouse noise or something."

*CLAnk

"No..."

*CLANk

"That's that sound of armor!"

*CLANK

Naruto jerked Monster kid away right as a giant spear lodged into the boardwalk. Monster kid practically squealed. "OH MY GOD! That's Undyne's spear! She actually threw it at us!"

'Shit, she found us!' Naruto grabbed Monster kid, holding them close to his chest while he ran on the boardwalk.

Spears were everywhere at this point. Bobbing up and down in the water, stuck in between walls, flying over Naruto's head. It wasn't until one particular spear nearly sliced Naruto's head off when he decided he couldn't just run. 'I was hoping I wouldn't have to use this so soon, but looks like I don't have a choice!' He spun around, standing right in Undyne's firing range. "Here it goes!"

Naruto flung a slightly-worn kunai knife in her eye, hoping to buy some time.

"...OW! God, you little brat!" Her spear throwing stopped for a moment, which was just enough time for Naruto make some distance.

'I think we lost her!'

*BAM

Undyne harshly landed at the end of the boardwalk, (almost breaking the boardwalk itself) automatically dispensing hoards of spears like a machine gun. 'Great, now she's ahead of us!' Naruto held Monster kid tighter, knowing any misstep would result in instant impalement, he weaved through the spears as accurately as possible.

'Ah, she's getting close, hehe, I know what I'll do!' If there was one thing Undyne couldn't do while she was in her heavy armor it was bending down. Which Naruto used to his advantage. Undyne couldn't actually grab him when he slid under her legs so she had to physically turn around and reset her threatening position.

'Damn it, he's gone...but he can't be too far!'

Naruto finally let go of Monster kid when they tumbled into a safe haven of familiar steep grass. Monster kid took a much needed gasp of air after being released from his tight hold. "Where'd you *huff* get that...weapon?" Was the first thing that popped out.

"I stole it."

'Oh whoa, he's so cool!' "And wasn't that spear scene so awesome, the way you threw that knife thing and then she jumped in front of us! We gotta do that a-" Monster kid suddenly lifted.

"Hiya Undyne!"

Naruto's heart nearly pounded out of his chest.

'S-she's right behind me!'

Monster kid plopped down soon after and the clanks of metal were few and far in between. "Yo, did you see that?! She...she touched me! I'm never washing my face ever again!"

"Yeah that was, uh, fun." Though his color drained face told another story.

"Man, you're so unlucky if you were just standing a little bit to the left then-"

"That was weak of me."

"What?"

"All that running away, next time we meet I'll challenge her head on."

A/N: I'm taking so long with these updates, but at least the plot is moving forward and I can implement some Naruto lore. Next chapter will definitely be heavy on emotion so be prepared for dem feels.

I'll be keeping Monster kid around Naruto for a while, they'll serve wonderfully as feel fuel for the upcoming chapters. Which might be bad news, I honestly believe Monster kid is one of the more annoying aspects of the game, but you have to admit, they're the closet monster to Naruto personality wise and physically.
