I've gotten a fair amount of questions on this, so I'm telling you right here and now that Naruto is 8, almost 9, in part 1 and is now 9 in part 2. Which he absolutely has to be just so he can't go through the Underground in 5 chapters. I hope that clears up any confusion.

Part 2

Chapter 22: Fallen Down

Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: Humans and Monsters

One day, war broke out between the two races

After a long battle, the humans were victorious

They sealed the monsters underground with a powerful jutsu…

OoO

Many years later, a human had fallen down into the Underground

He traversed through the cave meeting many monsters

When he finally returned home he trained endlessly

Someday, he would grow strong enough so he could finally save them

All three of the shuriken landed right on top of each other, the look on his sensei and classmate's faces made him grin from ear to ear making his mouth run like a motor, "See-see how good that was? I should become a ninja right now!"

"One lucky shot doesn't automatically make you a ninja, though that was good." Iruka admitted.

His other classmates were all in shock, some of them even shrewdly congratulated him, though they were the last people on his mind. When he finally came back after months and months of absence, most of them didn't even seem to notice he was gone, the insufferable feeling he had was something that would linger on with him forever.

"Well class, Naruto set a great example for all of us, with enough training you can posses excellent ninja skills." Training was all he ever thought about, all he ever wanted to do was get stronger so he could help his monster friends escape.

Often times he would stay hours after school and into the night, training and practicing again and again until he couldn't force his muscles to move anymore so Iruka would have to carry him home. When he became a shinobi, he figured, that's when he would finally be strong enough.

OoO

Naruto laid awake in bed, his muscles aching from his latest training efforts. '3 years 'till I can become a full-fledged shinobi, huh? There's no way I can graduate early or anything, not at my skill level, I still can't even do a proper clone jutsu…' He pounded his pillow. 'Damn it...I really miss them….'

"Huh?"

He grabbed his cell phone off from his dusty nightstand, he tried calling numerous times, but the signal could never reach, how could it be working all of a sudden. "Hello?" Naruto said.

"'Sup."

"SANS?! HOW...HOW ARE YOU...wait! Why didn't you call me sooner?! What happened?!"

"Calm down, it took forever for Alphys to make the thing work after it was completely destroyed. Anyways, I got some good news for ya, the queen finally returned and is ruling over the underground. And her first act as queen was that all humans who fall down here are not to be treated as enemies, but as...friends."

"That's pretty cool,"

"It's too bad the policy never really came into effect."

"What are you...talking about?"

"Another human fell down here a couple of days ago, around your age I guess, he started killing all the monsters in the Ruins and was about to kill Toriel too before I stepped in. Toriel begged me not to kill the guy so I locked him in my shed."

"Things aren't exactly falling into place like we all thought they would, the whole Underground's on edge again."

OoO

Naruto stepped inside the rotting cave decorated with small rocks and brown vines. In the middle was a large, treacherous pit, a pit at first he remembered detesting, but now there wasn't enough words to describe how thankful he was for falling down.

He jumped in without hesitation starting his trek through the Underground once again.

-Underground-

"You really did come back."

Naruto's eyes fluttered open, he pulled himself up and felt a swollen lump on the back of his head. 'Man, I must've hit my head really hard, I could've sworn I heard a voice.'

"Didn't you hear me?" Naruto looked around until suddenly a little yellow flower popped up in front of him. Unlike the first time he laid his eyes on the animated flower with his starchy, plastic face, Flowey's face now looked pained—real almost. "...everything you did was for nothing, Asgore along with several other monsters are dead, in fact, you set the entire Underground back." Flowey said, monotonous. "And even when you do free the monsters, it's not like the humans will accept them when they can't even accept an actual human like you. Life can't be that unfair, can it?"

Naruto stared at the ground. "...that's why I have to become Hokage. I'll force everyone to treat them with respect."

"I see...well, there's no easy way for me to get you a better ending without you having to lose something...I can get you a better ending...you just have to wait." Flowey returned underground while Naruto returned to his feet.

OoO

Feelings of nostalgia rushed back towards him when he looked around the Ruins for the first time in months. He fondly remembered his brief time with Toriel when she saved him from Flowey and helped him with his first puzzle as well as with his first monster encounter. Though oddly enough, there was not a single monster lingering around in the purple hued caverns.

What was left was the chilling image of dust and even faint traces of human blood splattered on the walls and floors. Without any monsters to get in his way, Naruto tread through the Ruins fairly quickly.

'Here we go, Toriel's house…' Though, Toriel was nowhere to be seen in her own home. Turning up every piece of furniture on the top floor, Naruto decided to check the basement. "What's this?" Naruto said to himself, quietly as he bent down.

"Ash...and it's all over the place here. Must've been a tough fight with that human…" He clenched his fist. "If I ever see him...I'll—"

The basement door swung open and Sans walked through. "Human, long time no see, this place looks pretty banged up, huh?"

"I wish I could've been here to help, if she died…" Naruto's body shivered and tears welled up in his eyes. "...I couldn't ever forgive myself."

"Don't sweat it, she's alive now, that all that matters. And if it makes you feel any better, she insisted she would stay here and wait for you to return before moving back into the castle."

Naruto's cheeks flushed a bright red. "She...she did all of that for me?"

"Yeah," Sans lightly chuckled. 'It's too bad her kindness lead to all of this.' He turned to walk out of the basement.

"...Wait!" Naruto called out.

"What?"

"Take me to see the human...please."

"Lucky for you, I have a shortcut."

OoO

The small shed overshadowed by Sans and Papyrus' festive house was covered in a thin sheet of snow and ice. The steps, however, were covered in human's blood that melted away the snow. Sans went up the steps and unlocked the door, he walked in with Naruto closely following behind him.

Setting their shoes down by the door, Sans slid over to the incompetent cell, rattling the thick bars. "You have a guest," Sans cooed.

"If it's your brother again, I'll kill him." A voice snapped back.

"...!" Naruto pushed Sans away to see the human for himself. The boy was a bit taller than him, but he looked to be the same age with hard, blue eyes (though he lacked any eyebrows) and messy red hair slightly covering a kanji character across his forehead.

"Do you know him?" Sans asked.

"No! I don't know this kid at all!" Naruto clenched the bars. "Who are you, damn it?!"

"..."

Naruto rattled the bars. "Fine don't tell me! But...but can you at least tell me why, why did you hurt Toriel and all the other monsters like that?!"

"Killing is my only purpose, come any closer and I'll kill you too." The boy threatened.

"...I'd like to see you try!"

Sans quickly snatched Naruto away from the red headed boy and put him outside. "He isn't kidding about the killing part, so I wouldn't make such bold statements like that around him, unless, you really want to die of course."

"...he's...he's that dangerous?"

"Pretty much, yeah,"

"Why...why didn't you kill him then?!"

"To tell you the truth, it would've been a hassle. And besides, he's surprisingly really good about staying in that cage, so why bother?"

"Don't kid yourself."

"Huh?"

"The Ruins were open, they were open the entire time for anyone to come in and out. You should've known another human was already here and that they were killing monsters, Toriel would've told you and yet...even after knowing you let them die and you let her get hurt."

"What're you talking about, kid?"

The anger rising in Naruto tipped over. "I'm talking about you! You can't even lift a fucking finger to kill a human you know is dangerous, what if he breaks out...did you ever think about that?! How can...how can you even trust him?!"

"You're right, this human is dangerous, but he's also different. If I were to pick a fight and die by him, then what? I'm keeping this human here so I can study him and figure out his weakness, if a few monsters have to die in return for saving hundreds more than I'm willing to take that risk."

"..."

"You're still just a kid, human, remember that."

"HUUUUUUUUUUMAN!" Papyrus pounced on Naruto and they both fell down on the fluffy snow. Undyne came running after them and grabbed them before they could roll down the hill.

Naruto forced himself grin in spite of the tension clouding the air. "Good to see you too, loser!"

"Tch," Papyrus crossed his arms. "Maybe you shouldn't of come back."

Undyne pushed the lanky skeleton out of the way and rustled Naruto's hair. "What's up, kid? Did ya get stronger or what?"

"'Course I did!"

"That's great!" Undyne exclaimed with a beaming smile. 'I seriously doubt he improved…'

"We should celebrate the human's return with some spaghetti, made from by truly!" Papyrus jogged up to his house while Undyne and Naruto ran after him.

OoO

Strangely enough, when Undyne and Naruto walked in, Papyrus had already prepared the food and was distributing giant spoonfuls of spaghetti onto three plates. Save for Sans who went to the usual place to eat.

"That was fast cooking, Pappy," Undyne said, easing into one of the chairs.

"It's a new technique I learned, but I won't tell you how I did it!" He proclaimed, sitting down as Naruto was.

Naruto poked the heap of steaming pasta with his chopping sticks, vividly remembering the last time he ate Papyrus' cooking and wasn't so keen on eating this dish either. 'There was something familiar about that kid...I just can't stop thinking about him…'

"Not hungry?" Undyne asked.

"...oh, uh, no I'm actually really stuffed." Papyrus took the liberty of scooping the spaghetti from his plate and adding it to the already mountainous size of noodles towering on his plate.

"Don't any of you think that kid's I dunno...weird?" Naruto blurted out.

"Not really, we're all used to the type of humans who kill a lot, you're the weirdest human I've ever met," Undyne said.

"Well, I see tons of kids every day, and that kid is the creepiest one I've ever met!"

"No wait, I think the human's onto something, Undyne," Papyrus said. "Haven't you noticed the other human doesn't have any eyebrows like...at all. And he's not a skeleton, I checked!"

"That's not what I'm talking about!" Naruto stood up and left the house, he paced around in the snow for a bit until finally walking towards the shed. He tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. 'Damn it I forgot about the code...what would Sans use as a code, something really lazy like…'

Naruto punched in the numbers '1 2 3 4' and the door unlocked. Closing the door behind him, he approached the cell. "I don't know why, but there's something...different...about you and I know you feel the same way about me. That's why I'm still alive, aren't I?"

The child gave Naruto a look reeking of such malicious intent it could shake even the most stoic of people. "...Go away." He muttered.

"No." Naruto insisted. "I'm still pissed about what you did to Toriel, but I'm not asking for an apology anything, just...just tell me your name!"

"..."

"Not a big talker, huh? Alright, I'll start out, the name's Uzumaki Naruto. And you...I'll call you no-brows until you tell me yours. "

"..."

"Well, to be honest, I'm not that much a talker myself, I...I mean to other people. No one's ever really wanted anything to do with me up until when I met the monsters here."

"Why are you talking to me?" The child coldly replied.

"'Cause I wanna know more about you, I know I'll die if I try to fight you, which was what I really want to do to you so I guess this is the next best thing." Naruto stood up, looking down on the red-haired human, frustrated. 'At least I thought so...'

After slipping on his sandals, he approached the door. "...You don't have to be like this, not anymore."

A/N: I'm doing so terrible with these updates that I can't even begin to say I'll have the next chapter out within this month, but I might update Monster x Hunter Ch. 6 within this month, so check it out.
