I groaned as my eyes opened to a bright light.
"Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God!" Kya yell as she freaked out.
I tried to sit up, only to find myself strapped down again.
I squinted and did my best to look around the room.
"Kya?"
"Thank goodness! You're awake!"
I flinched away from her loud voice. All of my senses seemed to be times two.
"Could you not yell?" I asked irritated. Looks like my anger problems were back as well.
Great.
"Sorry Viper." She quickly began releasing my restraints. "The effects should wear off in a bit. I was so scared when you began screaming. I thought that it hadn't worked and that-"
"Kya! Just..." I took a deep breath in attempt to calm down. "Keep quiet for a second." I didn't have time for this. The guys were in danger, that was my top priority. Then I remembered Kayla.
I cursed under my breath.
The guys could wait. My sister comes first. For all I know Shredder could be torturing my little girl. My angel.
"Where's Kayla." I asked, a growl slipping into my voice.
"S-subject twenty?"
"She's what?!" I yelled my voice echoing off the walls reminding me of my headache. Which I ignored of course.
"Subject t-twenty. I T-thought that you knew t-"
"Where is she? Now." I stood up backing the woman in her early twenties against a wall. Even I forgot I was still a young girl compared to her.
"S-should be here s-soon." Fear flickered in her eyes. I suddenly realised my eyes had turned black and snapped them back to purple.
"How soon is soon?" I asked backing up and calming down.
"Right a-about n-"
"Well, well, well." Both me and Kya turned towards the door. There, standing in the doorway was my baby girl my-
A dark, bone chilling, laugh filled the room.
"They let the animal out. I guess even lab rats need to stretch their legs every now and then. Am right?" Kayla asked Kya with a sickening smile.
"Kayla I-"
"Did I say you could speak?" She snapped at me. "Animals don't get to speak unless their master's say they can. Last I time checked, I didn't say you could."
My eyes snapped into a black color. This wasn't my Kayla. She would never talk to someone like this. Much less me. What had they done to her?
"Awww. Did I strike a nerve? Good. You deserve more than that after what you did."
"What did they do to you?" I growled. I let my anger mask how painful it was to see her like this. My ray of sunshine was gone.
"Same thing they did to you, but better. I came out with more than you could imagine. I might not have gotten your healing powers, but I got something much, much better than that."
I was suddenly in the air unable to breath. I couldn't move. I was stuck. I glanced down at Kayla, who was now below me. Her arm was raised in unison with me.
She took a deep breath through her nose as she closed her eyes. When she opened them, they looked on the verge of insane. "How I would love to kill you now. Sadly I have to wait, but don't worry. I'll get to you soon. First we have a visit with your friends to attend to."
My world began to darken. My head was light, and I felt like vomiting.
The last thing I saw my was Kayla's eyes turning black.
I woke up to the sound of water. I was at the docks and it was colder than the room Shredder kept me in. I was tied with rope, unable to do anything more than wiggle in place like a caught animal.
"Viper?" I looked to my left to see Mikey. Tears immediately filled my eyes.
Failure
The word was ringing in my head over and over. I had failed. I left so they couldn't get hurt. Now here was Mikey, and I knew what was going to happen. I was going to lose- No, I wouldn't let that happen.
Mikey's P.O.V.
My voice broke as I called out her name. She turned to look at me and began crying.
"Mikey, I'm sorry I left. I-I'll fix this." Her voice was shaking. "I won't let her hurt you. I won't, I won't, I won't!" She was crying so hard she was shaking.
"It's OK, don't worry about it. Leo and everyone else is coming. They should be here soon." I tried to sound calm despite my racing heart. Nothing was OK. If I didn't get us out of here, who knows what the Masked Assassin would do. That's when I remembered what she had told me. She was Viper's sister. She needed to know.
"Viper, your sister she's-"
"These tears suit you well." The Masked Assassin had walked up to us.
She bent her knees so she was face to face to Viper. Well, face to mask. She was dressed up in her black and white outfit that concealed her looks. With a gloved hand she wiped away the tears on Viper's face.
"Don't worry, you'll be bawling your eyes out here soon." The voice modulator was turned off. Hearing her talk sent chills down my shell. This girl was seriously twisted.
Viper turned her face away so I couldn't see it anymore. "What do you want Kayla?"
Kayla? Was that her name?
"What else? I'm getting my revenge, and revenge is a dish best served with a side of blood. Don't you think?"
"What did they do to you?" Viper's voice broke. I could hear the tears in every word she said.
"They took care of me." Kayla hissed. "You left me. For what? A group of mutant freaks?"
"I'd take it back if I could." Viper turned and looked her sister. She looked like Kayla had taken her heart and crushed it.
"Too late, and would you look who's here?" Kayla stood up and turned around. Casey, April and my brothers were here. They stared in shock when they saw me. Well, not Leo. He looked mad, like mader than raph gets when I draw on his shell in his sleep.
They quickly drew their weapons, ready for a fight.
Viper's P.O.V.
I closed my eyes as my younger sister's laugh rang-out into the night. She was gone. My Kayla was gone.
"Stop." I begged. "Please just stop, kill me if you want. Please don't hurt them. I'll do anything." Rarely did I go as low to beg, but I had no pride anymore. It was broken. I had broke. Shredder had finally broke me.
"Oh? You would give your life for them, but not for me? You're a coward. All you had to do was kill them. No, you and your stupid compassion. I'll show you what it gets you."
My eyes turned black as she she made her way towards my friends. I struggled against the rope the bound me in place.
Kayla raised her hand, Leo, Raph, and Donnie following suit. They gasped for breath, their weapons falling to the ground. Casey ran at her. She simply flicked her other hand and he and April flew into a shipping container. She let the guys fall to the ground once they had passed out.
I didn't care if she was my sister. I would do anything and everything to make her stop. She would not hurt my friends and get away with it.
She walked over to me and cupped my face in her hand. I ripped out of her grip.
"Coward."
"What was that?" She asked, her voice dangerously low.
"You call me a coward, yet you won't even give them a chance."
"I didn't get a chance. I didn't get a choice when you left."
"I think you're scared. No, I know you're scared."
"Is that so? Fine, you have one minute. One minute to save them all."
She held her hand out and the rope loosened. I stood up.
"I need a weapon. I think my blades on your back will do."
She pulled my swords out of their sheaths and handed them to me.
"One minute, you get me pinned and you can have your friends. If not, I kill them all. One. By. One."
"Deal. If I win you come with us so Donnie can fix you."
"Fix me? Please, I'm better than I've ever been. One minute starts now."
I attacked. Like a dance, she dodged my every move.
"Thirty seconds left." She said loudly.
I clenched my swords harder and went in for a attack. Her eyes must have been on my swords because when I stuck my foot out to trip her, it worked. I hadn't expected it to work, just to knock her off balance. I couldn't move my blade out of the way fast enough. She tripped right into my sword.
Before I knew it, blood was pooling on the ground. Her mask fell from her face, revealing a look of shock.
"No!" I caught my bleeding sister. Everything that she had just done slipped out of my mind. My baby was going to die and it would be my fault once again. "Kayla! Talk to me! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." I cradled her to my chest and rocked her back and forth in my arms.
"Heh...It's OK. It's gonna be OK Camellia." She looked up at me with her soft baby blue eyes. A smile graced her lips. She was on death's door and she could still smile. "I'm sorry I blamed you. You did so much for me, I owe you and all I did was try and kill your friends."
She began coughing up blood.
"I'm scared Cam." Her voice shook reminding me of the little girl she really was.
"Shh, it's Ok. Big sis is here."
"Can...Can you do something for me?"
"Anything sunshine." My throat began clenching up. It felt like the blood in my veins had turned to ice.
"Say...Say you love me."
"I love you. I love you. I love you." I whispered over and over.
"I'll tell...Mommy and D...Daddy you said hi." Tears fell down her face.
I kissed her forehead with shaking lips. "Thank-you Kayla."
When I looked at her face again, I could tell she was gone. I clutched her harder, sobs racking my body.
I held her for what felt like forever. I finally set her down and walked over to Mikey and cut him free with one of my swords. "I'm sorr-"
He pulled me into a hug and rubbed circles on my back.
"Sh-she's gone." I whispered quietly against his plastron.
"It's OK. She's...in a better place."
Mikey's P.O.V.
I didn't know if I believed in God or heaven, but it seemed like the right thing to say. I remembered the times I thought I had lost Splinter forever. I could imagine that's how she felt.
Viper sobbed on my chest till she fell asleep. Soon the guys and April woke up.
I watched as April's eyes flicked back and forth from Kayla's body to the blood covered fourteen year old in my arms. She covered her mouth as her face went pale. She whispered to something to Casey who's eyes quickly looked over at me and Viper.
Leo walked over to me, his face mournful. We exchanged silent looks.
Everyone else walked over.
"Let's go home." Raph said quietly.
I stood up and handed Leo Viper. Everyone watched at I walked over to Viper's now passed away sister. I picked up the limp body carefully.
"You guys head home. I want to give her a proper burial."
After a affirming nod from the guys, I went ahead and left to find Kayla a resting place.
Hey guys! This was really hard to write, it was horrible killing one of my characters, but I've had it planned for months now. Though I will be honest, I never planned to have Viper do it. One more Chapter to go.
I'm a disclaimer of TMNT but I own Viper and the idea behind her. If you want to use anything about her or the character herself please P.M. me first and get my consent.
Thank-you!
