Hey there, lovelies! How's your day going? If anybody wants to talk about The One, PM me… I'm really bored. So I apologize in advance that this chapter is sort of boring :( I'm trying to make something exciting happen, but nothing is coming to mind. You guys gave wonderful reviews and thank you all for the support. I really appreciate it! Also, I just got back from vacation! My cousins are staying with us for 3 weeks so I'll be busy with them as well as tutoring kids in our neighborhood. Enjoy this update!
fantasybookgirl : I super glad you liked all the smiles! Thanks bunches for reviewing!
PEETAMELLARKLOVER123 : I'm glad you do :)
Percabeth4610 : Don't worry, here's another chapter! I apologize for being late, I was on vacation!
Theselectedwriter: I love Maxerica too! #maxericaforever I'm like fantasizing right now about the silly things Maxon will assume about babies. I'm laughing, a lot :)
natalie1223 : I'm so happy you love the chapter and I will ;)
Dhenn618 : I'm glad you like the fluff and maxerica! Jonathan is America's father with her mother, but Kenna, Kota, Gerad, and May are all Shalom and her mother's children. The reason May and her look so alike is because of their mother and Jonathan and Shalom are brothers. I'm sorry if that was confusing!
Chapter 32:
"Good morning beautiful," Maxon said burying his face at the crook of my neck.
I groaned and moved so that my face wasn't facing the room.
I peeked at him by lifting my face to side an inch and there he was staring right into my eyes.
"I'm so damn tired, I whined," coming back up to look at the ceiling.
"I know honey, but I wanted a kiss," he replied sitting up.
"Well now that you mention it, I'd like one too," I said gathering all my energy and lifting my upper body so I was in a somewhat upright position.
Maxon did the same thing, but didn't slouch. His head easily was looking down on me, but wasn't too far at the same time. He leaned in so our breaths blocked out all the disturbances. He tilted his head just a smudge so our noses wouldn't collide and nearly closed the space, but then a knock came at the door.
We both sighed and Maxon said they could come in. It was a guard of course.
"I'm so sorry your highness's about intruding," he said guiltily.
I shook my head and managed to give him a weak smile. "It's alright, we're used to it."
Maxon looked at me and then wrapped an arm around my shoulder. He gently place a kiss on the top of my head.
The guard looked uncomfortable so I quickly recovered for the moment of comfort Maxon put me in and asked, "What do you need us to do?" I ask.
"The advisers are requesting your presence at the 8:30 meeting in roughly 45 minutes."
Maxon looked absolutely furious. He had taken his arm off and his eyebrows were close together.
"Excuse me," he asked in a tone that sounded like mad mixed with despair.
The guard looked frightened.
"Calm down," I said gently rubbing my hands along his muscular arm.
"Tell the advisers that we both will not be attending this meeting. When they ask why, mention that I've been away from my wife for a month while she was 8 months pregnant, just became a father less than two days ago, and walked into the place scared to death because Queen America was giving birth to OUR child. Tell them, that the country can wait because I nearly missed my little boy coming into this world," he snapped.
I gently pushed him down on the bed and he closed his eyes.
"I'm sorry, it's been stressful," I said to the guard.
"It's quite alright, your highness. After hearing what the King said, both him and you deserve a break. Congratulations on the prince, by the way," He said before bowing and leaving the room.
I collapsed right next to him.
"Sorry," he said softly.
"It's okay, it had to be said. Maybe with a little less anger, but still had to be said." I replied snuggling into his chest.
This life was hard. Really hard.
"Hey Maxon," I called.
"Yes America?" Maxon asked coming out of the bathroom.
"What are you doing today," I asked.
"Spending time with Declan and you," he replied with a questioning look.
"You do know we still haven't told the advisers his name right?"
"Ah, but you see, they'll drag us into something else."
I nodded.
"Would you play and sing for me?" He asked nervously.
"Now?"
He nodded.
I walked over to the piano and sat down glad that a huge stomach wasn't in between.
"Well, um why?" I asked.
"There's a lot going on and I just need to hear your music," he said closing his eyes almost as if someone was carving something into his back.
I took a deep breath.
I positioned my hands on the piano so that it was the right notes. Left hand, third finger on e, and right hand, first and third on a and c.
I counted silently, "one two one two one two one two" to get a rhythm in my mind.
Then I began to sing.
We know full well there's just time
So is it wrong to dance this line?
If your heart was full of love
Could you give it up?
'Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special
Don't give me up
Don't give...
Me up
How unfair, it's just our luck
Found something real that's out of touch
But if you'd searched the whole wide world
Would you dare to let it go?
'Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special
Don't give me up
Don't give...
Me up
'Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special
It's not about not about angels, angels
There were a couple tears going down my face. I turned to face Maxon and he opened his arms. I collapsed right into them.
"I miss her," I cried.
He didn't say anything, just stroked my hair. I could feel a few tears on my head. Why now? Why randomly was I crying? I knew why.
She was my second mother. She wanted to have grandchildren and she wanted to be here. She passed away though. She passed away.
We both cried I guess for 1 hour more. We talked for little time.
I guess we talked about everything never daring to move. I probably should've been with my family, but right now there was no other place I wanted to be than in Maxon's arms.
I realized that...
only the light from above is a guide way to our soul
and the black in our eyes are only whispers of the night
and we're craving just a chance so we can find a different life
our hidden faces, are the thing that's hurting
the sun burning on our skin are weakening every brightness
and the closed doors that are locked simply read all wants
and I'm begging just to see, what life might've been
if my stupidity, got the best of me
A couple guards ran into our room.
"Your majesties, there is someone here to see you."
I hope you guys still enjoyed this chapter even though it was short! Also, the beautiful song that America sang is known as Not about Angels by Birdy. Of course I don't own the song because other wise I'd be able to brag that it was mine! Jk. No, but seriously I don't own the song. Okay? Okay? (FANGIRL MOMENT) Um, so how do I know the notes? I play piano and I'm actually learning the song right now so I decided to give more details. Do any of you play piano? Anyone obsessed with the song? Anyone watch TFIOS? I did :) That's how I found out about the song. Who cried during the movie? I didn't. Oopsies. Okay enough rambling...Favorite, follow, and review my friends!
