b. loves. books: Ahhh this review is so long and amazing! I love talking to you as well and thanks for the congratulations! You're so sweet and I really don't think my writing is very good. I get the feeling of not too much time to write because there is just so many things that need to be done. You're chapters are always really good so thanks for writing them! I love tee-shirt as well by birdy. I don't know why, but I'm also addicted to her singing skinny love. I'm pretty much better in the lower range as well so I'm working hard to get the notes. I still can't believe I made America and Maxon leave their days old baby boy. I feel evil….. Who knows what'll happen. I noticed the random places people make her sing as well. I try to make mine go as smoothly as possible and I try to make the song's she sings have a significant relation to her personally. This response to your review is so long as well! I'm always lazy to sign in as well so that makes 2 of us ;) So when I read the last sentence, I kinda like froze and was like OMG. You have no idea how much that means to me and thanks again for all the support!
Chapter 34:
I woke up on a ship. It was completely grey with not a splash of color. The only sort of brightness alive would be the green seas. Even then it felt dark and gloomy. I heard thunder and saw lightening flash through the stormy, dark, clouds. Where was I? Then I saw Dallas and knew he was taking me to the guerrilla's leader. Why wasn't Maxon here? I whipped my head around so I could see the entire boat. Sadly, the sight I saw wasn't the way I wanted to see Maxon. He was strapped to a pole. His back with old scars was facing me and his face hung down low. I saw men with whips and I immediately broke into a run.
"MAXON," I screamed.
"MAXON," I screamed again, but this time 3 men took me and dragged me to where he was.
They started whipping him and I watched as he tried to hold back is pain. I tried to reach him I kept on trying to break free, but they didn't let me go.
Dallas came up to me, but then morphed into a dark shadow. He let the wind carry him to Maxon on the pole and then put his hands around his neck. He started suffocating him and I watched as Maxon lost is inability to breathe.
I kept screaming his name trying to break free, trying to go help him. The shadow let his body fall to the floor and then about 30 men charged at him. They all started hurting his dead body by stabbing him, kicking him, every morbid thing alive.
I kept on screaming and screaming until they all melted into red blood.
I woke up and let out a cry. I was panting hard and my breaths were uneven. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I sat up and started shaking.
"America, America calm down," Maxon said putting his hand on my back. I realized there was a guard who came inside looking like he was ready to punch somebody.
"Y-You're alive?" I ask still sobbing about the nightmare.
"Shhh, slow down, it's okay, I'm okay, you're okay, everything is okay," He said gathering me in his arms and rocking me back and forth.
"Your majesties, would you like a glass of water and a cold washcloth?" The guard asked politely.
"I think that would be great," Maxon said tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear. My face was buried in my hands and I was panting. I had controlled my tears by now and I just wanted to get the image out of my head.
Once he walked out Maxon gave my shoulders a small squeeze. "Was it a bad nightmare?"
I realized that I was acting like a baby so I looked up at him and let him see my face. I just nodded because I didn't trust myself to speak.
"Honey, would you like to talk about it?" He asked as gently as he could.
"Not really," I mumbled. The guard came back and gave the water and wash cloth. He bowed before closing the door and giving us some privacy.
Maxon helped me sit comfortably and then helped me drink some water.
I knew if I told Maxon the dream he wouldn't let us go with the guerrilla, but I still was tempted to.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"Why," He asked surprised. "You have nothing to be sorry about."
"I woke you up. We sometimes have to wake up for Declan and I wasted your time."
"Really? America, you can make sure I never sleep again and I won't be mad. It's okay, I've had nightmares. Trust me, they're awful. They're mostly about losing you," He said swallowing the air.
"Mine are too," I said giving a weak smile. He puts the damp washcloth on my forehead while I close my eyes.
"You're the best husband ever," I say.
"You're the best wife," He replied giving a goofy smile.
"America, I want you to know that when you're ready you can tell me about your nightmare, okay?"
My lip quivered. "Y-You were caned b-by them, and then he turned into a shadow and killed you, and they….. they kept stabbing you," I say suddenly shaking again. The images flashed through my mind.
"It's okay, it's not real. I don't know who was that was, but I promise nothing will happen. I'll always be here for you."
We were back in a sleeping position and I was in Maxon's arms. I realized the uncertainty in his voice and it scared me. I never wanted Maxon to ever go. I loved him too much.
I looked up from his shirt and then kissed him.
He was shocked at first, but recovered quickly. At first the kiss was gentle, but soon became passionate.
"I love you," he whispered.
"I love you more, forever and ever."
"I love you most, beyond forever and ever."
…..
"Bye Mom," I said giving her a hug.
"Stay safe," she said giving me a gentle squeeze.
"Bye dad," I said to the biological one.
"Bye kitten. I know it'll be hard for this week, but things will get better," he said.
I nodded and stayed in his embrace.
I had already spoken with Kenna, James, Astra, Gerad, and May. They all said good luck with ending the guerrilla. Next was Jefferson.
"Bye Dad," I said slightly quieter.
"Bye America," and right then Maxon came and stood by me.
"Keep my daughter safe," Jefferson warned.
"Absolutely," Maxon said with all seriousness in his tone.
I laughed before piping in, "I can take care of myself."
They both gave me scared looks and I continued to smile. I took little Declan out of Mary's hands and cradled him. The smile from 10 minutes ago immediately disappeared.
I placed a kiss on his forehead and held him close. He was days old and I was about to leave him.
Maxon put his hands on my shoulder while gently swaying with me.
"So once we come back, we'll have his coronation where the public will see him?"
"That sounds about right," Maxon said tiredly.
Dallas cleared his throat behind us and we got the hint. We had to leave.
"Take good care of him," I whispered to my maids. We wanted to be there for him for the most part so my maids would just help out instead of getting nannies.
Maxon plopped a kiss on his head as well before we both turned towards the cars. We didn't know what was going to happen. We were just going to go.
So what do you think about the nightmare? Do you think it's reasonable for America to feel scared? Tell me your thoughts and review, favorite, and follow!
