This is placed after Frozen Lake, but Kensi was never reassigned instead Deeks was. The op has been going on for three months now and he is not allowed to formally contact any of the team, so in his free time he starts writing letters to Kensi.

Dear Kensi,

This case and cover are getting deeper. I think it is starting to get unsafe.

This drug cartel is very dangerous. That's why I can not call you. I do not think this case is getting any better. I do not even feel like I will be any closer to this case in a few months. LAPD thinks I will make progress if I stay in, but the cartel is threatening my life.

Miss you guys! I miss being around the team. I miss you guys having my back.

Most importantly I miss you. I miss your smile, laugh, and your personality. I miss my Fern.

Do not forget to feed Monty for me!

Deeks' POV

I finish the letter and put it in an envelope. I'm going to actually start sending these. I need their help without directly asking for it. I know Kensi's missing me. So I will just send them to my address just so I am not putting her in direct danger. I walk down the street to the post office to send the letters. I put them into the mall box and walked back to my "apartment" to sit till I have my next order from either LAPD or the drug cartel.
