(BEWARE REALLY LONG AND IF YOU DON'T WNAT TO READ IT YOU DON;T HAVE TO, BUT IF YOU DO THANK YOU FOR READING THIS EXTREMELY LONG MESSAGE.)
I just realized that the last chapter is going to be chapter 41. 41 CHAPTERS. That's pretty long for me because my last one was 16. So I kind of did like a flashback down memory lane today about when I started this. I don't know why, summer's almost over, this fanficiton is almost over, my grandparents left, my cousins left, my mom went to my cousin's thingy (she'll be back soon), I'm leaving for vacation in a couple days. Everything is just hitting me I guess. So I thought that before the next chapter, I'd share with you my story about fanficiton. You guys don't have to read this if you don't want; I just thought maybe it would be fun.
So in like mid-march I had been in intense affection for the Selection trilogy. I was absolutely DYING for the One. I had these ideas so I thought I might as well share it. I was really nervous because, I mean putting writing on the internet was scary for me. I sound like a wimp (laughy emoji)! Anyways, I did and of course compared to this story not many people reviewed, but to me I was literally AMAZED. Every day, I'd come home from school and look at the review(s) and literally would be so excited. Then one day, I got my first… kind of mean, but needed to be said kind of review. I mean at first I was shocked, and I'll admit kind of sad. I mean I didn't want to be told that, and I realized that I was living in an unrealistic fairytale world where everything is perfect. It's not, and I'm so glad for that reviewer. They made me realize that this is reality. This is what life is. Maybe it was one comment, but it changed my perspective. From then on, when a constructive review came I'd be so thankful. Even if it was harsh. Many people say, "Constructive criticism welcome." Half mean it, half don't. I guess I was lying to myself at the beginning, but then I noticed how awesome it is. I read my other story today and OMG I feel kind of stupid. Is that weird? I mean the chapters were really short, and the plot line was really fast and I kept criticizing it. My writing now has improved (I hope at least) and it may not be really good or even pretty good, but it's improved and I'm beyond thankful it has. Anyways ended Indescribable , didn't plan on making a sequel to it… la di da di da. Then this constant flow of reviews came in at the last chapter and I decided I would. I thought this one would be short, done in a month. It's been 116 days. That's pretty long. I'm so glad it's long though because there is more plot in this story and etc. I was super excited to start this story. There were long gaps in between updates and I tried some crazy stuff just so I could give you chapters. At the end of the day, I'm really happy for everything. I'm so grateful for the constructive comments, the absolutely amazing nice comments, even the mean ones. Most of all, I'm thankful for you guys, because you literally are amazing.
Dhenn618 : Thanks for being my only review last chapter and I'm super glad you liked it :)
Chapter 40:
Maxon held my body as we cuddled in the car. We were going to the palace back to my family.. back to our family.
"I can't believe our life might actually start being…. I don't know how to say it," I stated.
"I think our rule might actually be able to focus," Maxon replies.
"Exactly." I sighed and buried my face in Maxon's chest.
"I can't wait to see Declan," He says excitedly.
"Me too, I missed our boy even though I know he's in good hands."
"We have a meeting about all the events that will happen once we go inside the palace and then I was thinking we can do a family picnic. We can start getting some pictures up in our room," Maxon said.
"I love that idea. What events are going to happen?"
"Well first, the coronation of Declan and then the first report with him. We will also announce the alliance with the guerrilla we have as well as our plans with the future. We have 3 interviews together and then you have to start planning the first month ball which is thrown for all the royal babies."
"You're forgetting," I said simply.
"Forgetting what? Our anniversary's in May, honey."
"Your birthday," I said giving him a stare.
Maxon groaned, "Please, like people care about my birthday."
My face literally went from a level 2 stare to a level 50.
"Alright alright, but I'm serious. My family never really did care too much and frankly I don't either so yeah."
"Maxon Calix Shreave, you're turning 21. That's a very big occasion and I will not have ypu take it lightly."
He shook his head and said, "You sound like my mother."
I literally ran to Declan once we got out of the car. I took him from Mary's arms slowly and then cradled him. Maxon had fallen right behind me and put his arms on my shoulders.
The first person to interrupt our moment was my mom. "Oh honey, how did it go?" She asked.
I put Declan in Maxon's arms and then hugged my mother.
"Really good, we got their alliance and there is so much that's going to happen to Illéa now." I said smiling brightly.
"What do you mean you got their alliance?" My dad asks.
"Turns out that they wanted to team up with us." I replied.
Jefferson then says, "It's true. I know them quite well."
"What… how?" My mother than asks.
"It's a long story," Jefferson says.
"I think we have some time."
"Actually, Maxon and I have to run to a meeting and then we are going to go to a picnic with just Declan, but until then we are out. Jefferson can explain everything, since I have a feeling he knows."
I had given him a call a couple days back in which I told him everything.
Maxon reluctantly gave Declan to Anne, Lucy, and Mary and then we were off.
The meeting was quite boring… no surprise there.
I was actually happy that when Maxon and I were walking down for our picnic, Jefferson ran into us.
He opened his arms for me and I gladly went into them.
"I think that we should really get to know each other," I said smiling.
"We really should, my little red."
Maxon who was awkwardly staring at us seemed like he was dying for an explanation. I looked into his eyes and said, "I'll meet you downstairs in five." When I gave him a kiss on the cheek I said, "I'll explain later."
I still hadn't told him about the letter, and him being the gentlemen didn't push me.
"So how was meeting everyone?" Jefferson asks.
"Uh good.. I guess," I say
"Did you meet Denver?"
"Ohhh yeah," I said widening my eyes and then sighing.
"What happened, America?"
"Ha-ha… a lot. We got it sorted out, but um things didn't go that well at the beginning." I weakly said.
"Explain..." He said.
"Look Jefferson….Err… dad… um you don't exactly talk about guys to your father figure."
"Well, you're married, you have a child with the man you married, you love the man you married, I've watched Declan grow up, and I know him more than I even know you."
"Got it, it's like he's your child not me," I said rudely.
He gave a deep chuckle before saying, "You really are a fiery one."
"I'm serious," I exclaimed.
"I may know him well, but that doesn't mean he's my child. He has a father, and his father loves him a lot. They have a good relationship, they are in each other's lives every day."
"So we don't have a good relationship," I huffed.
"I thought you were hugging me 10 minutes ago."
"That's before you told me that we don't have a good relationship."
"Oh Ames, we have a good relationship. One that won't gain back the time lost, but will improve throughout the years. I wish I could've kept you-"
"I know... I know. Sorry, I just forget that."
"Well, you better go eat with your two boys."
"One's a man, but yes I should," I said laughing.
"Of course, I'll talk to you later
I sit down next to Maxon who had been setting up the food. Declan was sleeping his transportable car seat. It was like a crib on the go.
"What are we going to eat today?" I ask.
"Queen America, I'm your server. Today we will be having grilled cheese sandwiches, with a wide variety of fruits as well as chocolate chip cookies and strawberry tarts. Also, we have baby food If that gets you excited," He said faking a British accent.
I laughed and playfully smacked his shoulder. "How did you now to take it laid back?" I asked.
""Excuse, I know everything," Maxon said mock pouting.
"That's funny honey, but seriously… how?" I said getting interested to know how Maxon achieved all of this.
"I may have gotten help from the Queen's mother," Maxon said sighing disappointed, but not dropping the accent.
"Well, server, you did a great job with all of this."
He lit up before answering, "I'm glad you like it Mere."
We heard Declan start crying and I immediately took him out. I position him so he would be comfortable and calmed him down almost immediately.
Maxon who was looking at me quizzically asked, "How did you do that."
I shook my head and kissed his head. "It's pretty easy."
"Right, you and being perfect at everything."
"You of all people should know I'm not perfect at everything. I mean seriously, don't you remember me screwing up the report, and asking for things that were hurting both of us, and-"
Maxon cut me off, "First, the baby is going to cry, and second.. I thought we agreed that our mistakes only made our relationship stronger."
I sighed; he was right.
I leaned back into his chest. His legs were laid out front and mine were criss crossed in his lap, while our baby was sleeping in my arms.
I looked up at Maxon and our lips connected.
"This is nice," I whispered.
"Oh, my dear, it's more than nice."
"I'm not your dear," I warned.
"Yes, you are much more than that."
Okay so I concluded that you all should get a fluffy chapter after the chaos. I hope you like the last chapter… BEFORE the epilogue. Yep, scared you for a millisecond ;) JK. Anyway, tell me what you thought in the reviews down below! I feel like in a few days that my life is going to die, but also going to be a lot different in a good and bad way. I don't know why, but the end of this fan fiction is literally ripping a part of my soul. BUT, I think that I do need some time to really focus on my life, and when I go back to school, to see my friends again. I've been kind of MIA all summer from my social life, and I normally like to talk to many people so yeh that's tough. I literally love you guys so much and see you next time in the last chapter!
