Omen was usually successful in shoving unwanted thoughts into the deep trenches of her mind. However, tonight her mind seemed to ignore her strict command to forget about the dream she just had a few hours ago and she once again became to forced to relive another tragic moment in her past.

The man who had hit Nina and Tilly before was now laying on the ground bleeding through a giant hole in his neck, most of his gang had ran off soon after his death but a few were armed and waiting for whatever had killed their boss to show itself. Tilly and her sister were crouched behind a few crates that were spread around the concrete shed they were in. Nina was whimpering and clutching her jaw which set at an awkward angle meaning that it was in fact broken, Tilly herself had a huge gash in her right temple making it hard to stay awake let alone think of a plan to escape. She knew her and her needed to find a hospital, but they also needed the money the man had taken from Nina. Tilly took a deep breath and looked over the crate to see if the thing that killed the gang leader was still in the shed; one look told her it vanished, but there were still the other thugs to worry about. Quietly Tilly crawled over to the body of the leader and took the money from his jacket pocket, there was a bit of blood on it but it would still work fine. Tucking the wad away into her oversized sweater Tilly went to get her sister but before she could reach her a hard kick sent her flying the other way. At a loss for breath Tilly began frantically scrambling away but was once again sent flying by a metal pipe. She looked up at the two men who attacked her but before she had a chance to react, two black spikes formed out of the ground and stabbed both men in the back; Tilly let out a scream but couldn't find the strength to get up and run. As soon as the thugs were dead the spikes retracted into the ground and the shadow they left behind moved over to Tilly, she braced herself for what she assumed would be a quick death. After a few seconds passed she opened her eyes to see the shadow form into a short wall. Not sure what to do Tilly reached her hand out to touch it, but when she crawled over to it the middle split in half and formed a narrow path over to her sister. Realizing she had a chance to escape, Tilly found the strength to get on her feet and sprint over to her sister, she almost fell once but the dark wall around her moved to catch her. Soon her and her sister were safely out of the cement shed and the black wall was gone, Tilly tried to look for it but within minutes of escaping the thugs the adrenaline drained from her system and she collapsed right next to her sister.

"Omen! Wake up! You need to wake up!" Omen shot straight up from the couch she had been sleeping on, expecting to be faced with a villain who had infiltrated the headquarters; instead she was surrounded by her team-mates who all looked like concerned parents.

"What is this?" she turned to Brainy whose hands were still on her shoulders from trying to shake her awake.

"You just started screaming. We tried to wake you but when we got close your powers started targeting us." Omen stared at him for a moment, she attacked them? How? Her powers always laid dormant while she slept.
"So um. What were you dreaming about?" Brainy asked removing his hands from her shoulders and sitting back.

"I...um...don't remember." Omen could feel the suspicious glares on her as she lied her way out of the interrogation, but continued none the less. "I honestly don't remember, I must have blocked it out when I woke up. I guess it was pretty bad."

"Pretty bad is an understatement. You sounded like you being killed. You really don't remember?"

"No. I'm trying to, but...I just can't." Omen grumbled getting up from where she was laying on the couch. "But it's no big deal. People have nightmares all the time, it was probably just the reminiscence of a horror movie or something. As for my powers, I'm sorry, that won't happen again. I promise." Omen turned her attention from Brainy to the other members who were waiting for an explanation. "It's Ok, it's over. I just had a bad nightmare. You can all go back to sleep."

"It's noon Omen. Most of us have been up for hours." Saturn Girl said walking over to Omen from where she had been standing across the room.

"Why didn't anyone wake me sooner then?"

"We tried. Your powers kept getting in the way." Omen was shocked, she had always been a light sleeper, there was no way Brainy shaking her, her team's screams, and her powers going hay-wire wouldn't have woken her.

"Sorry everyone, I guess my mind just went a little crazy. Um, I'll just go change I guess and we can forget this whole thing ever happened." Before anyone had a chance to question her further, Tilly pushed her way through the crowd and headed back to her room. Once safely away from everyone's eyes Tilly allowed herself to slouch over. This was going to be an exhausting day, she just knew it.

Omen's room felt normal again when she entered although she was hesitant at first. Her powers must have been freaking out big time for her herself to feel scared of them; shaking the thoughts out of her head Omen quickly grabbed her uniform and got ready to deal with her team who would no doubt have more questions for her. Letting out a sigh Omen walked out of her room back to the main hall where people were already moving about doing whatever it was that needed to be done. She stood at the entrance for a minute contemplating whether to talk to her friends or just go straight to her missions, but before she could come up with a sensuous Saturn Girl spotted her from across the room.

"Omen, could you come here for a minute?" Omen nodded then walked over to the young hero who was busy going through files on a few of the criminals they had put away in the past.

"What's up Imra? Find anything on our Brainiac problem?"

"No, not yet. But I wanted to ask about earlier, I know you're going to say everything is alright, but I'm not quite sure I believe you. I never snoop around people's minds without permission, but I have picked up a few...distress signals. It's like your mind is trying to leave your body." Saturn Girl bit her lip and waited for a reply.

"What do you mean trying to leave? Is that why my powers have been a little off lately?" Omen suddenly felt a ping of panic in her gut, maybe her lack of control had nothing to do with the fact that Brainy was back or that there were bounty hunters everywhere, maybe it was just her.

"It's like there's something trapped inside you that wants out, I've never felt this around you before. I think something recent is causing this but I don't know what yet. If you'd let me look into your mind, together we could maybe look at your past to see if anything that happened previously in your life could be affecting you now-"

"That's not a good idea!" Omen cut Saturn Girl off and took a few steps back, there was no way Imra looking into her mind would end well.

"But Omen, don't you want to fix this?" Saturn Girl arched an eyebrow at Omen

"I do...it's just that... I guess I don't want to re-live what's doing this to me. I mean, if it's so bad that my own mind wants to leave then maybe I shouldn't know about it." Omen was lying through her teeth, she knew it wasn't fair to her team but at the moment her only goal was to get Saturn Girl to believe her.

"Omen, I can''t force you, but I really do think this will help." Imra started to walk over to Omen but as soon as she advanced Omen stepped back again.

"Look, Imra, I appreciate your intentions but no."

"Omen-"

"No!"

"What's going on over here?" Apparently Omen had raised her voice too loud because now Lighting Lad had made his way over to the two girls.

"Nothing." Omen snapped at him, she didn't mean to sound so irritated but at the moment Omen just wanted to get as far away from the telepath as possible.

"Garth, it's OK. Me and Omen were discussing how to deal with her problem earlier."

"There wasn't a problem! You guys are making a deal out of nothing! Everyone has off days, I'm better now."

"I don't think you are, I can sense your mind again."

"Well stop! My mind isn't your problem!" Omen took a step toward Saturn Girl causing her to step back. Omen had always had trouble with her short temper, but she could usually keep it under control. However, at the moment Saturn Girl felt as if they were back to day one when Omen took every critique on her powers as an attack. Upon Omen's advance to Saturn Girl, Lighting Lad also took a step forward to put something in between his girlfriend and an increasingly angry Omen.

"Whoa, Omen, calm down." He tried to talk her down but it only made her more enraged.

"Don't tell me to calm down! I'm not the one who won't let this go. So I had a few moments, so what! You've all had them too! I'm not the one whose had problems!"

"But you are the only one who won't let anyone help!" Lighting Lad began to raise his voice to meet Omen's, he didn't want to fight his friend but he also wasn't one to let somebody talk to him that way, no matter who they were.

"I. Don't, Need. Help! Why can't you guys just accept that!"

"Because look behind you!" Without giving Omen a moment to register what he had just said, Lighting Lad grabbed Omens should and turned her to face the rest of the main hall. All along the ceiling and walls there were dark shadows. Omen could only stare as they moved around the room, she didn't feel her powers working, as far as she knew they were dormant. Shaking the initial shock from her head Omen began to try and make the shadows vanish but when she raised her hands to them, as if on que, giant spikes shot all around. Her team immediately started dodging the sharp points and began evacuating the main hall, a few stayed to try and fight off the offending objects but soon they too fell back.

"Omen! What the hell are you doing! Stop it!" Lighting Lad yelled as he ran past her to make sure no-one was injured.

Omen didn't respond, she was focusing too hard on trying to make the spikes cease their attack but they weren't listening to her. She had zero control over what they were doing. Finally after three minutes of attempting to gain power over them, Omen managed to eliminate them.

Taking a deep breath Omen fell to her knees, that definitely didn't help her case, and to be honest, it started to make her side with everyone else. Omen could hear Lighting Lad walk up to her and braced herself for whatever punishment he felt she deserved, but before he had a chance to say anything Saturn Girl was by her side.

"Omen, I think you should go to your room until we figure out what to do about this." The sheer patronizing tone of her voice was enough to get Omens blood boiling again, but she kept it in, she knew there was nothing she could say that would fix what just happened. So without another word Omen got up and sulked to her room, not bothering to look at her team members who were all on guard around the halls, not sure of what to do.

Once inside her room Omen went over to her meditation corner and lit the candles. She sat in the middle of them and did her best to clear her mind, but no matter how calm she got, the memories she had worked so hard to suppress kept finding their way into her thoughts. Giving a frustrated grunt Omen got up and began pacing her room talking to herself.

"Come one Tilly! You need to get it together! There is way too much to do for you to start losing it now, what about Brainy? What about taking care of Nina? Stopping the bounty hunters? Stopping crime in general? You can't go off the handle now, you're too invested." Suddenly Omen stopped dead in her tracks. There was no way Saturn Girl, or anyone would let her go on missions now that she proved to be a hazard. Then Omen got an idea so simple she mentally cursed herself for not thinking of it sooner. If she found out what was wrong herself and fixed it then everything would be good, Omen had been so concerned about ignoring the problem she didn't even think to fix it. Sometimes she just wasn't the brightest person out there, but that didn't matter now. Omen ran out of her room and made her way down the hall to the teleportation pads. She looked around to make sure Saturn Girl wasn't there and placed the cordinants in to take her to her sisters house.

Within seconds Omen was in front of her sisters run down home, she went to the front door and entered, not bothering to knock.

"Nina! Where are you?" Omen looked around the house for a minute before Nina came out of the back room carrying the baby.

"Wow, twice in one week, it's a new record. What do you need?" Nina walked into the kitchen and began taking food out of cupboards.

"I need to know about the bounty hunters that have been around lately." Omen followed Nina into the kitchen and sat at the tiny dining table that was in the far corner.

"Why? I thought you were avoiding them."

"I was, but I'm doing a job and need any information I can get."

"Well I pretty much told you everything I knew when you were here last. There are a couple of familiar faces but other than that I don't know." Nina took a seat next to Omen.

"What familiar faces?"

"Just a couple hunters we had to deal with before. No-one that really mattered."

"Huh, well I guess I'll start there." Omen held Nina's baby boy's hand for a moment then got up to leave.

"Wait, what do you mean you'll start there? Tilly?"

"It's Omen right now." Omen gestured to her uniform.

"Oh please, like that outfit hides your identity at all." Nina smiled at Omen then put her baby down on a blanket on the floor.

"It doesn't matter, it sounds better when you call me by my hero name." Omen placed her hands on her hips and waited for her sister's remark.

"Whatever, OK Omen, what do you mean you'll start with the bounty hunter? You can't mean going to talk to them."

"Of course that's what I mean."

"Till- Omen, you can't risk that. We've spent 5 years under the radar, why would you blow that now?" Nina walked over to her sister and placed her hands on her shoulders.

"Nina calm down, I won't blow it. But I need to find out what's going on with them."

"They're looking for big game, you know that."

"That's not what I mean. Look, lately my powers have been acting up and they didn't start until the hunters came to town. At first I figured the two weren't connected because I haven't had trouble from hunters in years. But now, it's the only thing I can think of that would put my powers off, maybe it's a sign that something's wrong." Nina stared at her sister for a moment before backing off.

"Your powers are acting up how?"

"Just trouble controlling them, it's like they developed a mind of their own." Nina let out a sigh and rubbed her temples.

"Tilly, you're a dumb ass." Omen stiffened at her sister's remark but let her continue. "Have you actually forgotten how you got your powers? Black Magic? Deals? If they are acting up then that means he's in town. It has nothing to do with the hunters." As soon as Nina finished her sentence Omen froze, she really had forgotten about him. Him being the man who helped Omen get her power of controlling dark matter, when she was younger she had wanted a way of getting out of her current lifestyle of crime; which at the time had meant gaining supernatural powers and leaving by force. Tilly must have done a good job at pushing those memories away because as soon as she remembered that man everything else came flooding back into her mind. Omen looked at her sister, then turned and ran out the door. If that man actually was in New Metropolis, that meant the legion had a whole other problem they would have to deal with other than Brainy's. Omen knew she needed help, but she still didn't want to ask for it.

Omen kept running until she was in the middle of New Metropolis, taking a minute to catch her breath Omen looked around to see if there was anywhere she could go to calm her nerves. Upon finding a small bar she shrugged and went in. It was a small calm little bar with only a few booths along the wall opposite of the bar. Omen walked over to said bar and ordered a light drink, she shouldn't get drunk while in her legion uniform. That would just add to her punishment when her team found out she ran off, Omen let out frustrated sigh for what seemed like the hundredth time that day. Things were just not going her way.

"I guess things can't really get worse." Omen slunk into her stool, not noticing a tall man walking up behind her.

"Tilly?" Omen tensed when she heard the man's voice, why the hell was he there? She slowly tuned her head to come face to face with a giant man dressed in a black leather vest and gray long sleeve shirt with dark pants and boots. He was decked out in weapons and on his neck he wore a gold badge showing he was a bounty hunter. His voice came out in a low grunt as he pulled a laser gun out of his holster on his belt. "This must be my lucky day."

Omen got ready to defend herself against this giant monster of a man. "Apparently I was wrong, things just got a hell of a lot worse."
