A/N: Pardon my medical drama plot writing. It's been ages since I watched Team Batista.
Dr Kiryu walked back to his desk after he was done with Keiwa's physical checkup. Keiwa followed after him and sat on the chair opposite the desk. Dr Kiryu nodded to himself as he seemed to like what he saw in the report. The man glanced up towards Keiwa as he sat up straight in anticipation.
"So... is everything okay?" he asked as the doctor shrugged at him.
"Rest assured... it looks like your heart is working fine. It doesn't seem that there were any other complications either..."
Dr Kiryu pulled up Keiwa's MRI data from his computer and took a moment to look into the data. But then he smiled.
"Yeah... the MRI data also checks out. So it looks like you're making a good recovery, Keiwa-san."
"Is it so—?" Keiwa asked as Dr Kiryu cocked his head at him.
"Is something wrong?"
"No..." Keiwa quickly shook his head. "It's just... this morning my chest hurt a bit. It was very brief... but it scared me for a second."
Dr Kiryu shrugged. "Well, you do have to remember that it's barely a few months since your surgery. It'll take a bit of time for your body to heal. As long as you take your medicine in a timely matter and remember to not over-exert yourself, you should be alright."
Dr Kiryu popped a piece of candy into his mouth as he offered Keiwa another. "But, if you felt any other feelings of discomfort... you can always call me."
"Thank you, Kiryu-sensei," said Keiwa before stopping himself as he remembered something. "Anyway... did you find out who was it that carried me to this hospital a few months ago?"
Dr Kiryu just stared at him wordlessly before shaking his head. "No. Still no clue." He shrugged. "As I told you before, one of the nurses saw this young man carrying you here and asking for the doctors to save you. But by the time I arrived, I only saw you in the waiting area. The other nurses also didn't notice where the other young man went."
Keiwa let out a sigh of disappointment. "I see. I thought since the person had saved my life at that time... he might have wanna find out if I'm doing well. And I thought if I could see them again... I would be able to thank them properly..."
Dr Kiryu got up from his seat and walked over to him before running his hand over Keiwa's head.
"I'm sure wherever that person is right now... they were wishing you well."
.
Keiwa put the pet carrier down beside his bed before plopping his head on his pillow. He idly unzipped the carrier open as Ace joined him on the bed.
"Sorry... Ace. Dinner... might be late again tonight. I'm just so tired..." he said softly as Ace burrowed itself into Keiwa's arms so that he could cuddle the white fox. Keiwa giggled as Ace started licking his face again.
"Aah... Ace, stop... that tickles. No! Enough kissing me—" Keiwa looked up at Ace before burying his face into Ace's soft fur.
"Ah... you're so soft, Ace..." Keiwa sighed as he felt himself getting sleepier.
He thought about his last conversation with Dr Kiryu again.
"Ah Ace..." he said softly again as Keiwa hugged Ace close.
"I wonder who was that person who took me to the hospital that time. Will I... ever get to see them again—?" he sighed again before finally falling asleep.
Ace raised its head again in an attempt to nuzzle its nose against Keiwa's cheek.
"It's alright, Keiwa. I'm here with you..."

"Keiwa, I'm home—!" Sara started to say before finding the living room empty despite the fact she saw Keiwa's shoes at the entrance.
She immediately walked inside and headed straight to Keiwa's room. As she expected she saw Keiwa still sleeping on his bed. But unlike usual, this time Keiwa had Ace to keep him company.
Keiwa really was getting so attached to that strange white fox.
Sara walked over towards Keiwa's small desk and spotted a folder left on it. She took out the contents as she realised that it was Keiwa's medical report. So it looked like Keiwa was getting better.
She glanced back towards Keiwa as she thought about the incident a few months ago.
.
She suddenly received a call telling her that Keiwa had been admitted to the hospital. Something about him collapsing and his heart having a problem or something and him needing surgery...
It had been a harrowing experience while waiting for Keiwa's surgery to be over. It was as bad as when their parents had suddenly died. She was really, really afraid that she'd lost Keiwa as well.
But thankfully the surgery went well, and Keiwa was still alive. And then, two months later she got a call that Keiwa had fainted at some park or something...
Keiwa really had a knack for giving her a lot of scares.
Sara sighed as she shook off her feelings of melancholy. At least all that has passed now.
And right now she needed to make some calls to order some delivery for dinner.
Well, there'll be some nights like this.

"Hello again, Keiwa-san!" exclaimed Neon as she greeted him during the break. "I didn't see you yesterday so I was worried that something happened."
"Ah, sorry about that. I just took a day off for some medical checkup."
Neon let out a loud gasp as she heard about it.
"It's nothing bad, is it?" she asked worriedly as Keiwa waved the concerns away.
"It's nothing serious, just a routine checkup." Keiwa just scratched his head awkwardly. "There was an incident a few months ago, I guess I was in an accident or something. So I ended up receiving heart surgery at that time."
Neon frowned at him as he finished talking. "You... guessed?"
Keiwa nodded. "Hmm. Though to be honest, I have no memories of the accident."
Without warning, a tear just ran down Neon's cheek as she stared at Keiwa in surprise. Keiwa immediately stuttered his apologies as Neon just smiled at him.
"Ah! Neon-chan... I didn't mean to make you sad—"
Neon hastily shook her head. "No... I just..."
"Keiwa-san, I'm just glad that you're all right."
Extra Trivia:
I based Dr Kiryu on Dr Kiryu Kyoichi of the Team Batista no Eiko drama, which was based on a novel of the same name by Kaido Takeru. Dr Kiryu was a heart surgeon who specialises in the Batista technique of surgery, which in the story ended up leading to a serial murder case.
