After the whole race ordeal not much happened at Camp Kidney as The Bean Scouts were making paper airplanes, seeing which one could fly the furthest. Gordon stepped up, throwing his plane; going a decent distance.
"Okay Samson, you're up next" Lazlo commented as the Guinea Pig walked up with his plane, wearing rubber gloves some he would not get a papercut, cocking his arm back.
Samson released his plane which flew in a loop, landing at his feet as the Beans chuckled, Edward mocking his arm. Andy looked at the planes, betting no one was going to beat Clam's plane which somehow made it across the lake and back.
The Scouts were busy racing planes they did not even notice Scoutmaster Lumpus standing behind them, frozen in place as Andy cocked his arm back, accidently knocking over the moose, earning all the Scouts' attention.
Andy and Lazlo helped the older moose up as he was mumbling, gibberish. Tusk looked at Andy, explaining that hitting Lumpus may have damaged his brain as Slinkman walked up.
"Scoutmaster Lumpus is trying to tell you that Commander Hoo-Ha is town this week to visit his war buddies and he wants to check in on the camp, he also wants to meet the new scouts" Slinkman explained as the scouts froze up, looking at Cocoa Bean Cabin.
Andy looked at the scouts as Slinkman escorted Lumpus back to the Scoutmaster Cabin. Most of Scouts were standing still. The Tiger finally asked what was going on as Edward was the one to explain to the Cocoa Beans about their superintendent, and how important it was they passed inspection.
"Last time we didn't Pass, Hoo-Ha cut off our clean laundry privileges for a whole month, having the wear the same uniform, getting dirtier everyday" Samson added, breathing heavily as it was traumatic for him.
Edward explained that they needed to get this camp in perfect condition by tomorrow, snapping his fingers getting all the Beans to follow his command. he ordered Fava Cabin in charge of cleaning.
Fava Bean continued handing out tasks as Edward eventually came to Jelly Cabin, Edward just told the three to not mess up, Telling Lazlo all he had to do was start the bonfire if Hoo-Ha asked.
"You Two stay in Jelly cabin" Edward told Raj and Clam as they nodded. After a day of getting the camp ready All the Beans were at the Mess Hall for supper, Mcmuesli, shaking a spoon full of brownish grey slop on their trays.
Tusk asked what this slop was poking it with his fork as Mcmuesli answered the question saying it was actually 'Slop' a dish which Hoo-Ha personally enjoyed from his war days. As Such Mcmuesli always prepared it when the Commander showed up.
Tusk plugged his nose, finally finding something he did not want to eat, swearing his scoop of Slop just moved.
The Beans all sat the Mess Hall. Edward was telling the Cocoa Beans about everything they needed to know about the Commander, the rules they needed to follow, which included always calling him sir, saluting him when you encounter him, and never saying 'What?' to him." a proper response is 'excuse me', 'I did not Catch that', or 'Could you repeat it' You might want to write this all down".
Andy wrote down everything Edward said in a note pad as Jakk Nodded, mentioning his own father was in the forces, he knew the etiquette for speaking to military types.
Edward looked at them, telling them the final thing, it was very important that they watch what they say about his daughter, Patrica. Steven looked at Edward, asking why that would ever come up, not remember anything about a buffalo girl at the other camp.
"Because, Hoo-Ha's Daughter, Patrica...that's Patsy Smiles" Lazlo added, trying to eat the slop, telling the Cocoas about what happened on the Previous Valentine's Day and how He put the Bean Scouts through hell, trying to find out who wrote a card for her, leaving about the part that the card was actually for him.
"Got it, use proper military etiquette when talking to him, salute him and don't mention his kid" Andy nodded. getting the gist of it. after an inedible dinner The Cocoa Beans were in their cabin, laying on their beds. The way the other scouts spoke about the Commander and the way Lumpus reacted made it seem that he was someone to be feared.
The Next morning came as the boys were woken up by a bugle. Andy looked at his clock, seeing it was 6 in the morning, the sun was barely up, and morning announcements weren't until 9.
The Tiger got up stretching as he and the rest of Cocoa Bean got up, getting dressed. they heard an announcement to make their beds and meet up at the flagpole. They went outside where everyone was waiting at the flagpole. Slinkman going over Bean's uniforms with a lint roller and making the scouts presentable.
"Tuck that shirt in" Lumpus instructed to one of the scouts who did as he was instructed. The Bean scouts stood in attendance for over an hour, waiting for the Buffalo to arrive. after an hour of standing, some of them were getting tired.
Lumpus seeing the red jeep, signaled the Beans who shot their hands up saluting the jeep which drove up to the flagpole. Cocoa Bean getting their first look at the Commander. The Jeep door opened as Hoo-Ha stepped out. Andy swore the Jeep rose a bit when the Buffalo stepped out.
"Commander Hoo-Ha, what an honor it is to have you at Camp Kidney" Lumpus reported with a salute as Hoo-Ha passed by him, telling him the inspection was going to be quick. he was on a tight schedule and also had to inspect Acorn Flats.
Lumpus looked at the Buffalo asking him if he would like some slop, commenting that it had been setting under a heat since last night, made for his arrival as Hoo-Ha stared down the Moose.
"Did you seriously just offer me day-old slop" Hoo-Ha huffed, breathing out of his noose as he was bent over Lumpus as he simply nodded. the Buffalo gave a smile "I'd love some"
Hoo-Ha was led to the Mess Hall where Chef Mcmuesli brought out a bowl of slop, leftover from last night's dinner, splatting a scoop on tray for the Commander as the scoop, jumped back into the spoon as Mcmuesli, shook it, causing it the land on the tray again.
"Keep it coming" Hoo-Ha instructed, Mcmuesli prepping another scoop before the Buffalo carried the Tray, sitting down at one of the tables as he took a bite of the Slop gagging, the buffalo pounded on his chest, swallowing the spoonful. he commented that in needed more spice, reaching into his pocket, pulling out a small red bottle.
Hoo-Ha uncapped it as red mist filled the air, he carefully, placed one small drop into the slop as took on a red hue, bubbling. Hoo-ha recapped the bottle as Lazlo identified the smell as the same sauce he had consumed during Patsy's prank.
The Buffalo brought the spoon to his mouth, slamming his fist on the table, trying to stomach the slimy and nuclear-hot slop, breathing fire from his mouth, before swallowing "That hits the spot".
After breakfast, Hoo-ha went around doing inspection of the camp, the showers had the appropriate amount of mold, the beds were all perfectly made, the cabins were all clean until he came to Cocoa Bean Cabin. Hoo-Ha looked at Lumpus, asking if this was the new cabin he was told about. Lumpus simply nodded.
"That's right sir...- Cocoa Bean Cabin" Slinkman finished for the nervous moose as Hoo-Ha nodded, saying he would like to meet the new scouts. The rest of the Bean Scouts pushed Andy and his group forward as they quickly saluted.
"Andrew Chang, Cabin Leader of Cocoa Bean Cabin, Sir" the Tiger saluted as the other three followed form, saluting and introducing themselves. Hoo-Ha told them to be at ease. Jakk lowered his arm as the rest of the cabin did the same.
"Chang, what in Sam Hell is this contraption" Hoo-Ha asked, seeing the Bean can parked in front of the cabin, Andy explained it was their Go-Kart, which Steven had built using parts from an old Golf-kart, a lawnmower, and an abandoned Coupe de Ville.
Hoo-Ha asked if it worked as Steven nodded. he was instructed to show him as the Wolf got in the Kart, turning the key as the loud engine roared before he cut it. Hoo-Ha praised the quality craftsmanship, impressed by the loud engine.
"And you built this from scratch boy, I wish I had someone like you working on our jeeps" Hoo-Ha praised as Steven was surprised by the praise but nodded, it was a known fact the most guys like big engines and cars.
After doing his inspection The Buffalo looked at his notes, telling Lumpus that they passed but barely, telling them to get that hole in the Mess Hall roof fixed. The Beans again saluted the Commander as he returned to his jeep.
"It was an honor to meet you Commander Hoo-Ha, sir" Andy replied as the Buffalo chuckled, claimed he liked those new scouts before looking back, thanking them for the Slop, admitting he hated the food at Acorn Flats as it was too sweet for his taste. Hoo-Ha turned forward, reversing and pulling out of the camp. Once Hoo-Ha was out of sight, they all dropped their salutes.
Lumpus claimed he was going back to bed as the scouts nodded, he told everyone to meet up at the Flagpole at the regular time of nine o clock, giving them almost 2 hours to nap. The campers all went their separate ways.
"We must have caught him on a good day" Lumpus added, heading back to the Scoutmaster Cabin to nap for the remaining hours. Andy decided while was up he might as well do his Kung Fu training. Steven decided to get back to sleep and Jakk and Tusk.
The Tiger watched his cabinmates go back to sleep as he stood outside the cabin, doing poses. It would help wake him, and besides, he was already up so he saw no point in going back to sleep. He was just happy that Hoo-Ha passed their inspection as seemed to like Cocoa Bean Cabin.
He just hoped they actually have something edible one Breakfast rolled again; The Tiger continued his poses.
And this is Cocoa beans, introduction to Commander Hoo-Ha, he was interesting to write as he is a character who can turn on a dime.
