Chapter 6

Following the Minutemen's victory at Quincy, Nate had thought things might slow down for him and his friends. He was sorely mistaken. In the months following, the story of their victory had spread throughout the Commonwealth. The Fall of the Minutemen had been well known to the inhabitants of the Commonwealth, so it only made since that the story of their redemption be of equal caliber.

Immediately following their return to the Castle, after the Battle of Quincy, a last minute meeting had been called. Due to the expected publicity of their recent victory, the council had voted to reinstate Nate's full authority as General of the Minutemen effective immediately. From what Nate had gathered, even then the news had already spread across Radio Freedom. The Minutemen who had answered the call, and those like Ronnie and Preston who remembered the Quincy Massacre as the near extinction of the MInutemen, had been especially jubilant. Preston had surprised Nate and forgone his usual discipline, partaking with the rest of the council in taking multiple shots of whiskey before they all went to join the party that had slowly grown out of control.

Nate vividly remembered he had personally seen MacCready leading a game of strip poker, while Preston was drunk for the first time in his life and had been seen going down on a female settler out by the water pumps. At one point, Nate had walked into the wrong room and briefly saw Ronnie Shaw sandwiched between two naked female Minutemen before she chucked a boot at him while yelling at him to get the fuck out. On the other hand, Nate had experienced a sandwich of his own. With Curie busy tending to the wounded in the infirmary, Cait had taken it upon herself to make sure Nate celebrated appropriately. She had brought back several of the most beautiful women the Minutemen had to offer, who had been all too eager to entertain them both for the evening. Although Nate, didn't know it now, he was fast developing a reputation for his sexual proclivities.

But that celebration was then, and now, Nate had a new dilemma. It was no secret that Nate and the Minutemen had played vital roles in the downfall of the Institute, and now, their victory in Quincy had given the Minutemen more renown and acclaim in the Commonwealth. In fact, they had so many new members flocking to join that Nate and his council had held a special meeting in order to reorganize the group, and figure out what the direction of the Minutemen would be. Before, the Minutemen were dedicated to helping individual settlements. Protecting them from raiders, muties and other threats from the wastelands. Now however, there were suggestions within the Minutemen and several settlements of setting up an actual government in order to unify the Commonwealth.

After many meetings and deliberations, it had been decided that there would be a summit held. The leader of every free settlement in the Commonwealth would meet in Diamond City, the only place large enough to host so many, to vote on establishing a central government or not. If the vote passed, further elections would be needed to decide the leaders. All-in-all, to Nate, this was more than he had initially signed on for. The summit was to be held in 3 days, and Nate found himself regretting being one of the earlier arrivals to the city as he was already at odds with several of his closest friends and allies over the issue. Cait had initially opposed him leading the Minutemen and now opposed the idea of a government being established, while Piper and Preston felt that he had the makings of the Commonwealth's first real leader for the people. Interestingly enough, Hancock was also supportive of the idea of a government because according to him, the people needed a "firm hand" to guide them. One such argument had just taken place during which the argument between Cait and Piper had turned violent. Cait had given Piper a black eye and Piper had ripped out a clump of Cait's hair. Frustrated as he was, Nate had them both separated and although both women had tried to claim his affections for their own comfort, Nate had denied them both. Alone in his quarters, he had summoned the one woman who hadn't increased his blood pressure in the past hour: Curie.

A gentle knock at the door told him she had arrived. "You called for me, monsieur?" She asked, entering the room. Nate downed the last of his whiskey, and set the glass down on the counter top, and removed his shirt. "Yes I did Curie. Go ahead and activate your mating protocol for me if you would." Curie smiled, "Oui monsieur!" She immediately began undressing. "'Ow would you like me?" She asked. Now naked himself, Nate placed her on her back on the bed, hanging her head off of the bed. He then placed himself in her mouth and began thrusting in and out while playing with her small breasts. He had enjoyed both Cait and Piper in this position before but as human women, they needed breaks in order to catch their breath between strokes. Curie had no such limitations, so Nate took his time, enjoying the sound, and sensation of her mouth, taking care to twist her nipples every so often. Curie for her part, moaned several times in pleasure.

When Nate felt that he was adequately lubricated, he ordered Curie to roll over onto all fours. As usual, she complied without hesitation. Nathan spread her legs and pushed himself inside her, feeling her quiver with anticipation as he did so. Strange as it may have been, Nate had his favorite positions for the women in his life. Cait was fun in every position, but Nate enjoyed her most on her back. With her larger breasts, Nate preferred having Piper ride him. Now, he was finding that he enjoyed being behind Curie the most. Her ass was by far the most impressive he had seen, but the fact that she was always simply happy to be of service to him was something that was invaluable to him at a time like this.

Nate continued to pound his frustrations away, feeling Curie grow wetter and wetter every time he did so. Before long, Curie gripped the edge of the bed tightly, and let loose a scream that was so loud, Nate actually stopped to ask her if she was okay. Curie had maintained her position but was now breathing loud and hard. "Je vais bien monsieur," she wheezed out. "I just 'ad ze most curious of sensations. I could feel my vaginal walls contracting, followed by a sensation of intense euphoria. I am so wet, I 'ope I 'ave not experienced a leak or malfunction of some kind." Nate laughed. "Curie that was an orgasm. It is an important part of the human mating experience." Curie turned to look at him. "Oh. Zat was very pleasant monsieur. I shall 'ave to document my findings when I 'ave fulfilled my duties 'ere."

Nate grinned, "Well I wouldn't want to keep you Curie so how about I show you how to speed this up a bit?" Nate pushed Curie down so that she was completely prone on the bed. At Nate's command, Curie spread her cheeks for him, and he pushed himself slowly into her ass. An involuntary moan escaped Curie's lips, but she said nothing. Nate pushed, gently at first, but sensing that Curie was not experiencing any pain he gave himself over to his own pleasure. He wrapped one hand around her throat and placed the other on her ass as he pushed harder and harder with each thrust, earning a moan from Curie with each stroke. Before long, Nate climaxed with one last, hard thrust before rolling over onto his back. He was satisfied to see the result of his climax spilling slowly out of Curie's ass as he propped himself up on a pillow and beckoned for Curie to join him.

Curie moved to lay next to him, and remained silent until Nate asked, "What should I do Curie? I don't know where to lead the Minutemen from here. I have an army at my beck and call and I don't know how best to use them for the people. Should I just lead the Minutemen, or should I try leading all of the Commonwealth?" Curie was silent for a moment and then, "According to my databank, zroughout 'istory, zere 'as never been a group zat was benevolent from eets conception to eets deterioration. Eet 'as always been dependent on ze man who 'as led zem." Both of them fell silence once more as Nate pondered what she said.

The more he thought about it the more he realized he didn't want to lead the Commonwealth as a whole. He'd had a hard enough time leading the Minutemen, and had only agreed to do so initially to help find Shaun. Furthermore, what good could possibly come from handing over control of multiple settlements to a government that wouldn't even rule from those very settlements? No, Nate wasn't sure how the leaders would vote, but he was sure of one thing; no matter how they voted, he wouldn't allow himself to be bullied into accepting a position he didn't want. Satisfied that he had at least made up his own mind about himself, he pulled Curie closer to him. It wasn't long after that they drifted off into a deep sleep.

It wasn't the explosion that woke Nate, it was the screams of the citizens of Diamond City.

"They're in the city!"

"Help us!"

"The Market is on fire!"

Nate grabbed his walkie, "This is our General, I need a situation report now!" For a moment, there was only static, and then– "synths have entered the city! They're attacking the market! Requesting all available Minutemen to the market!" Nate jumped out of bed and dressed quickly. "Curie activate combat protocol!" Curie's eyes immediately snapped open, and after assessing the room as safe, she too dressed and armed herself before following Nate outside of his quarters. No sooner had they exited than they smelled, and saw smoke smoke coming from the Market. Sounds of screaming, gunfire and laserfire seemed to emanate from all around them. A skeletal, first generation synth came around the corner and Nate sent a .45 round into its head. Nate saw that his Minutemen were pinned down under fire near Abbot's store. He tossed a grenade to through the smoke to where the laserfire was emanating from and was pleased to see that it stopped.

He advanced quickly through the carnage, telling his Minutemen to protect the citizens as he went. Suddenly, three of his men quickly went down to the most accurate laserfire Nate had ever seen in his life. He fired through the smoke but was unable to see who had fired the shots. As Nate moved to reload, a figure moved out of the smoke so quickly that Nate had no time to react. Curie was struck so hard that she flew straight through the wall to the Dugout Inn, and before Nate knew it, he was pinned to the wall by his neck than none other than X6-88. "X??" Nate gasped out. "Hello, Director." X6-88's voice still had its monotone, metallic quality to it, but Nate saw nothing but malice in its eyes. With minimum effort, X6-88 tossed Nate like a ragdoll, who landed on his back gasping for air. "You betrayed us Director. You have been targeted for retribution, followed by termination." X6 said walking towards Nate. "My orders are quite clear. I cannot kill you here and now, but I can hurt you. A lot." He said, now standing over Nate. He picked Nate up by his throat once more. "I'm afraid this is only the beginning of what we have planned for you Nathan." The last thing Nate saw before he blacked out, was the cold smile and empty eyes of X6-88's synthetic face.
