Zillo problems
Fox is on patrol alongside two of his men. His eye catches a large ship enter the atmosphere. He comments out loud, "Windu's back early."
His men look up and one asks, "Think it's important?"
Fox looks at the one that spoke, "Knowing him, he thinks so."
They shrug it off and continue their route. After a few minutes, they come across a lost child. Fox figures this would be good practice for his people skills and states to his men, "I'll handle this one."
"Yes, sir." they stand nearby in case something happens, or he flops.
Fox walks up to the child, kneels, and asks in a gentle voice, "Are you alright?"
The little human girl, about five years old, turns to him, eyes red from crying, "No. I lost my Mommy and Daddy."
"Do you want me to help you find them?"
She nods, then shakes her head no.
Fox thinks about what this might mean, then asks, "Why not?"
"You're scary."
He lowers his head in thought, then gets an idea. He motions his men to take their helmets off, "Are we scary now?"
She looks up at his men before shaking her head no, then asks, "Why don't you take off your helmet?"
He sighs and explains gently, "It's too embarrassing."
"Really?" she asks, become less scared, "They took off theirs. They look pretty."
One clone elbows the other, whispering, "She thinks I'm pretty."
"Obviously I've got the better mug."
Fox glances at them, then smiles at her, "How about we find your parents? And just between us, I'm the pretty one."
She giggles and he gently picks her up.
He makes his men put their helmets back on before asking her about her parents. After getting a full description of them he carries her around. The two clones followed as he talked while looking.
Her parents see them minutes later and run over, both shouting, "Ferra!"
The girl looks in their direction and smiles, "Mommy! Daddy!"
They stop in front of Fox and he hands her to them, "She was wandering..."
The daughter interrupts him, "He found me! Can I marry him?"
Fox's brain stops to process that while her parents laugh. His men tense up in an effort not to laugh.
Her mom states, "No, you can't marry him."
The dad turns to Fox, "Thank you, officer. We've been looking for her for hours. I'm just glad she wasn't hurt."
Fox snaps out of it, "Y-you're welcome."
They all wave goodbye to Fox and his men as they left. Fox turns to his men when a snicker slips, "What is so funny?"
They snap to attention, answering in unison, "Nothing, sir!"
Fox thinks for a moment, then crosses his arms, "Well, if it's nothing, then we should keep moving." he motions them to continue and they go back on their walk. The pair look at each other before following, attempting not to snicker again.
Ten minutes in, Fox's com goes off. Fox answers, "Yes?"
"Commander Fox," Palpatine says, "I need you to come to the ship storage units and speak with Dr. Bulb. She has important security matters to discuss with you about our new arrival."
"Yes, Chancellor Palpatine." he hangs up and faces his men, sighing, "Continue without me."
The second clone salutes, "Yes, sir."
He nods and heads to a railing to wait for the transport. It soon arrives and hovers to a halt a bit too far away. Fox climbs onto the railing and leaps off, catching the door frame floor and launches himself into the ship, sliding to a halt inside. His men lightly clap until the ship leaves. As they continued walking, the first asks, "Hey, Ricket, do you know the difference between our Commander and other Commanders?"
"What?"
He smiles, "Ours doesn't need permission to be awesome."
He snickers and they continue walking.
Fox's ship arrives at a large metal storage building. He jumps out as it lands and walks up to the nearest trooper. He notes the coloring on the ship and the lack of color on the troops and concludes that they're Windu's freshest rookies. He asks, "Where is Dr. Bulb?"
The clone answers, motions him inside, "She's inside, Commander."
Fox nods, then heads in, stopping in his tracks at the sight of a massive brown lizard.
The aquatic alien lady sees him and walks over. She holds a red human like hand out to him, "It is nice to meet you, Commander."
Fox snaps out of it and looks down at her, shoulders tensing in mild panic as his voice stayed calm, "What is that thing?"
She lowers her hand, "It's called a Zillo beast." Dr. Bulb makes Fox follow her into a floating observation deck, speaking when their high enough to see everything, "As you can see, the creature is held down by tractor beams and a whole team is prepared to stun it if it gets loose. I am hoping that your services won't be needed, but in case it is, I want everyone to be prepared."
Fox looks down at her, "What can it do?"
"We've discovered that it's scales deflect light-sabers and blaster bolts, is extremely strong, and surprisingly fast for a creature of it's size."
He relaxes a bit and leans closer to it's tired face to study it, "Weaknesses?"
She states, "Malastare fuel is toxic to it."
It slightly opens it's eyes and weakly looks at him. Fox tilts his head and reaches out a hand to pet it, but she stops him, "Don't touch it. It's been regains consciousness for the last hour. I don't want it taking your arm off."
He assures her, "It won't." then reaches out again and strokes it's snout. It locks onto him and it's pupils widen. It recognizes him as someone gentle and shuts it's eyes, leaning a bit into the touch, almost purring. She watches this interaction for a minute before Fox pulled away. She comments, "It seems to like you."
He smiles, "He's a good boy. Just scared and confused."
It gives a soft high pitched bellowed whine.
He turns to her and they float back to the ground, "How fast does it run?"
"I don't know." she states, "We stunned it before it could get very far." It stops and they climb out, "It seemed like the creature knew you meant it no harm."
"Looked intelligent." he states, then orders, "Just keep it calm and triple the restraints. Once angered, I doubt anyone will be able to stop it. The best I can do is evacuate everyone in it's path."
"I understand, Commander."
"I will let the Chancellor know." He bows with his head, then heads over to the Chancellor who had been admiring the beast from a different angle.
Palpatine sees him coming, "I take it you discussed it with her?"
Fox stops close enough to whisper, "Are you insane, sir? That thing is big enough to flatten half the people on the top layer."
The adviser grabs Fox's shoulder and scolds him, "You will show the Chancellor respect, Commander."
Fox looks down at his hand, then pulls himself to attention, "Yes, sir."
Palpatine motions his adviser to step aside and answers, "I did not make this decision lightly, Commander. I know what the risks are. Think of the troops. With it's scales integrated into the clone armor, we will prevent many of your brothers deaths. This way the only place available large enough, and strong enough to hold it. I didn't have much choice. Do you understand, my boy?"
Fox thinks about it, then sighs, "I understand, sir. I'm just worried."
"You have good reason to be. I suggest you prepare a plan in case things go south."
Fox nods, bows, then leaves.
