Chapter 23

"No not here, there are too many ears and this is not war, it's an attack on the keep. We only need to come up with a strategy." I tell him hoping he would get that I didn't want everyone panicked and tipping off the enemy spies.

As I head towards the war room with Nate by my side I can't help but wonder when would be a good time release him from this spell. His one true mate is out there waiting and then I wouldn't have to keep up with this charade. What my parent's would say….

"Nate!" I say looking behind me as I enter the study. Hmm his eyes are unfocused…

"Yes Leah?" He says stopping in front of me.

"I need to leave but I need to put someone in charge so that you can meet me at the battlefield. Who would you say is the best person to do that?"

"Captain Mark for sure. I know you would think the war general but the captain has proven himself time and time again at least to me. He's saved my life."

"Hmm, ok why don't you stand over there while we wait for everyone to show up?" Just as I say that the Captain arrives at the Study door.

"Captain there you are, we need to start planning for this attack immediately. Has my Father his finished meeting and taken my mother somewhere safe?"

"No Milady, He has not, think he is planning with his chief of defense even though he told you to deal with it." The Captain says entering the room with the rest of his troop.

"Great just what we needed the old fool telling my father a terrible idea…let's begin planning they are two days out from our location now we can cut them off at the south part of the woods.."

"What about the North part milady?

"The Dragons have that under control-"

""You shouldn't trust them" Captain says with a fierce look "They are untrustworthy creatures."

"Captain," I say with my eye flashing "We have known each other for year's you know me, do you not trust my judgement?" Nice acting Mark but we really need to weed out who the enemy is among our ranks. WE will be attacking from the east and west. Of course Leah sounds good. When are you planning on releasing your family from the spell? I'm thinking in a few minutes might be best. I'm tired of keeping this up so many lies. Well-kept and needed lies that we needed to keep Sasha safe until she was a little older. You know I'll defend her to my last breathe. You can't die, our Great War Hero will be making it through this fight.

"Of Course milady I trust you and to the North we will attack. Right men? "

"Yes Captain!" The whole troop yells with big grins on their face. The thought of a fight after all this peace time has gotten them excited. Hopefully not too excited to forget their training. Of course not.

Just as I start thinking maybe this won't be so bad a knight burst through the door.

"Milady their ranks are closing in faster than we've imagined if you act now we can stop them. They are a few hours out, I fear if we wait any longer they results may be devastating."

"You Heard him men, to your stations! Get ready to defend."

"Right now Leah, you have to do it now for Sasha and Drake. We need to win this fight for everyone's safety." Mark says while glancing at his troops who all have puzzled looks on their face but they knew better and keep their mouths shut.

"Yes I know Mark…" I turn and look at Nate who has been standing their stoically as a bodyguard should. The glassy look in his eyes makes me know that he is still under my earlier spell.

"You deal with this attack and lead it Mark and I will set myself free."

"Yes your highness." Mark says bowing while yelling instructions to his troops.

With that the guards turns and leave. Damnit I wish I had more time before everything had to come out but there is no going back now. So much for keeping it from my mother.

As I turn to walk back down the way I came with Nate trailing behind me, I start to wonder how everyone will take the news. As soon as I reach the War room I see my father talking to his Chief of Defense. This is going to break his heart. My father will be so disappointed, I know he wanted me to be happy and in love with Nate but it just won't happen.

"Father there is something I must say…"

With that the rooms grows quiet even my mother stops her gossiping.

"Leah is something wrong?" Harry says while looking up from his map. I start to lift all the spells I put on everyone over the years. Almost everyone looks confused. Why is my Father smiling?

"I'm sorry Father but this is not who I am. I glad for Mother and you, but I will not continue this farce with Nate… not while I'm pledged to another. I was not planning on revealing this as soon but there is a war starting. Whether you want it or not, I already have my army and you are going to need yours."

"Leah, what have you done? What spells have you've been using to manipulate your mother and I? That's a disgrace and who is this other person?" Harry exclaims

"Drake, father. And you have a granddaughter …"

"WHAT! What is going on Leah, what has happened to me? Until 2 minutes ago I had feelings for you which are gone. Why Drake my worst rival?"

"I'm sorry Nate I had to put I spell on you I had to make everyone believe we were in love. I had to stop everyone trying to mate with me for the Throne and you were the best choice. If I had not you would've been dead by now. I saw your death years ago in a vision. I'm sorry but it's always been Drake. Your true mate is out there but if you leave now you'll never find her. "

"I can't believe you. Whatever we had is over and a divorce is definitely in order."

"We aren't married Nate. They marriage certificate is fake. I'm not even here right now I'm in my doppelgangers body."

"Just great…" Nate says storming out of the room.

"Leah dear, how could you have done this to your family?"

"It was all for your protection mother I did not want you all to worry. I had a vision that if you knew we would lose the war. I had to now because War is upon us, I had no choice."

"I have a granddaughter?"

"Yes father you do and you'll be able to meet her soon." I say looking at my father you has tears of joy in his eyes.

"When?"

"We will have to wait until after we can stop the attacks. They will be here within a few hours"

"Ok what is it that you need daughter?" Harry asks while moving towards me.

"How can you be so nonchalant about what she did to us for years Harry?"

"Because Caroline, I've raised my daughter to do the right things even if I don't approve and if she says keeping the war from us was a choice between life and death I am happy that she did."

"Ughh…." My mother storms out of the room in a huff.

"Thank you father, for understanding." I say while giving him a hug.

"Just promise you won't do anything like this again? "

"Yes, but we really need to start preparing for battle."

"You heard her any plans she has for us to win you listen to my daughter she is appointed War general until further notice!" Harry orders before walking out of the room in pursuit of Caroline.

"Well here goes nothing…." I mutter under my breath while taking in all the shocked faces.

"Listen up everyone there is a battle going on at the moment. To make sure we are not on the losing side we need to make our way out into the battlefield. Unfortunately I am not actually here in person but I have appointed Captain Mark to lead this attack. They can't reach the keep we have to cut them off. What say you?" I ask in what I hope is a strong voice.

"Aye, your majesty ! " All the guards yell.

With that I stride out of the room. I really need to return to my normal body soon. ..

Just as I'm striding out of the room I see Seth and Adrianna heading my way.

"Hey Seth! Hey Adrianna! How've you both been holding up? Adjusting to the imprint ok?"

"Hey Leah!" Seth exclaims all happy and smiles

"Hey Bestie where have you've been all day we've been searching everywhere for you!" Adrianna huffs out while throwing herself at me for a hug.

"Sorry you two, I've woke up not too long ago and finally just finished in the War room. It's not good news you two we are going to have to go to war."

"WAR!" they both exclaim surprised.

"But Leah we are in peace times right now what are you talking about?" Adrianna says while going to stand by Seth for support

"Leah, what is going on I'm so confused by everything. First I find out you're not my sister and dad isn't my dad and there are more things in the world. And we just finished a war with vamps what the Heck is going on!" Seth rants a little crazily while pacing back and forth.

"Seth! Stop ranting, everything will be ok. There are a few things that I need to tell the both of you… but now might not be such a good time." I say while watching the troops out of the corner of my eye.

"I really have to go… I have a 2 hour ride ahead of me and I'm not really here." I mention while looking at Seth to see him shell shocked. Maybe I shouldn't' have mentioned the not really being here…

"What wait? Leah that make no sense!" Adrianna shrieks as I slowly begin to walk away.

"I'm sorry Anna but I can't explain. I f you see Nate can you make sure that he does not leave? I know he is furious with me pretending and all but it will all work out in the future."

"Of course Leah but, you totally owe me for this!" Adrianna says while dragging Seth down the hall towards the garden.

I decide to take a moment for myself need to get myself in order. With a sigh I slouch onto one of the many waiting chairs outside the war room. Drake? You there? Yes, are you ok? You mind seems heavy... I told them, it didn't go so well for everyone. I'm pretty sure my Mother and Nate hate me... The troops are going to be on the way I need to come back to my body. Do you think it is wise to maintain the doppelganger here? Leah all will be fine and yes come home to Sasha and me. As soon as you are back into your body we will leave for the battlefield. Our troops need you. Alright, I will see you in a bit. Love you. Love you more.

I straightened and open my eyes disconnecting my talk with Drake.
