"Expelliarmus!" shouted Jazz, disarming another Death Eater. "Handy, she said to Fabian, who grinned at her in return.
"Guys, I think I found the exit!" yelled James loudly, pointing to an arched doorway to his left. "Come on, we have to get going, let's go!" Jazz sprinted to the door, all while dodging and shooting spells. Cherry held the door open as the kids ran through, Death Eaters close behind.
"Accio brooms!" yelled Sirius.
"Um, did you say brooms?" asked Cherry.
"How do you think we got here?" said Sirius.
"Alright, Jazz you're with me, Cherry, you go with Remus. Okay, hurry, let's go!" said James.
"Not so fast!" yelled a shrill voice. Sirius laughed.
"I don't see a speed limit!" he shouted over his shoulder. James grinned, and high-fived him. Remus grabbed a broom from Sirius's hand, and motioned for Cherry to hop on. She mounted the broom with ease, and continued to shoot spells behind her. Remus flew shakily forward, locking eyes with Jazz, who shrugged and hopped on with James.
"See ya, suckers!" yelled Fabian, as he pushed of the ground.
"Stop them!" roared a voice, but it was too late. His friends had copied him, and soon, the five brooms were soaring through the air. A few minutes after, Jazz spoke.
"Hey Lily, what time is it?"
"Half past four. Why?"
"No reason," she replied. James groaned.
"Not between four and five?" he asked desperately. Lily nodded slowly, looking confused. Sirius sighed dramatically.
"Uh, how do I explain this to a muggle-born?" asked Fabian. Gideon shrugged.
"Well...you know what rush hour is, right?" Lily nodded again.
"It's like that, but for wizards, in Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade," he explained.
"So we can't go that way again, because people would obviously notice ten kids with broomsticks," added Alice.
"Okay, so how are we supposed to get back?" asked Peter. Lily shrugged.
"What about the muggle roads?" offered Lily.
"Only problem is, you can't reach Hogwarts from muggle roads." Lily tapped her cheek.
"Yeah, but we could get past Knockturn Alley from muggle roads, and then go to the Leaky Cauldron to get to Diagon Alley, and then fly straight to Hogsmeade from there."
"Ah, I hate to say it Evans-" started James. Lily, Alice, Jazz, and Cherry all crossed their arms against their chests and stared at him menacingly.
"But that was brilliant," he finished quickly. Lily nodded in satisfaction.
"Question. Will you be able to find your way?" Lily smiled widely.
"Oh yeah, I've got a great sense of direction."
"Lucky," Jazz grumbled. "I've got the worst."
"Sounds good to me," said Gideon. Lily grinned, pleased.
"Okay Lily, lead the way," said Remus. Peter grinned. James and Sirius bumped fists. Jazz and Cherry high-fived. Alice shook her head and the craziness that had taken place that day.
"Those girls are pretty," said Sirius, eyeing a few muggle girls, who were laughing, and eating ice cream.
"And stupid. They're eating ice cream in the winter!"
"Actually winter doesn't start until December 21st," Remus and Lily both informed her in unison..
"Whatever.
"Hmm, smart people," whispered Jazz to Lily, who narrowed her eyes at her friend. Remus raised an eyebrow at Jazz. She raised one back, making him laugh.
"Oh I know them!" cried Lily.
"You do?" asked Sirius eagerly.
"Yeah, they were in my muggle 5th grade class! They're super nice, and they're such a close group. Really wild girls, and so fun to hang out with."
"Sounds like my type," said Sirius.
"You are only eleven," said Lily.
"I turn twelve in a month."
"They sound fun," said Alice, ignoring Lily and Sirius.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" asked Jazz. Everyone looked at her.
"I'm not exactly sure," said Fabian slowly.
"Let's go introduce ourselves!"
"Yes! I haven't seen them in forever," said Lily.
"Alright, but we shouldn't stay for long," reminded Gideon. Lily nodded excitedly.
"Hey! Katie! Hey, guys! Michelle! Maddie! Hey!" Lily shouted, running up to them. Her friends followed along behind her. Sirius and James eyed the girls, labeling each and everyone of them. Sirius thought the blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl was the prettiest. The one to her right was shorter than her, with dark hair, and bangs that fell into her eyes, as she looked at them in curiosity. The next one had blondish-brown hair, and was rolling her eyes at the black haired girl, who was braiding her hair. The last two girls were about the same height, one with jet-black hair, and the other with dark-brown. Those two were scribbling something something furiously on a piece of paper.
"Who are you?" asked one of the girls. Lily frowned. It had barely been a year since she saw them.
"Um, it is Lily. You know, your friend?" The one to her right shrugged.
"Is it really? I don't believe you!" she said haughtily.
"Why not?" pestered Lily.
"Because Lily never emailed, texted, called, wrote...and we're supposed to believe she just came and visited us?" said the brown-haired girl, who'd been doodling, a grin building on her face. Lily laughed in relief.
"Guys, I thought you actually forgot me!"
"Dude, just cause I got a B on that last math test does NOT make me stupid."
"What do you mean you got a B? There's no such grade as a B!" Sirius interrupted. Remus groaned.
"...Muggle...thing," he said through gritted teeth. Sirius nodded as if he understood.
"This is James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Cherry, Alice, and Jazz. My friends." The blue-eyed one whistled.
"Whoa, Lils, you sure are popular."
"They're from the boarding school in Switzerland?" Lily's eyes widened.
"Yes, of course!" said James smoothly.
"Where else would we be from?" added Jazz innocently. Lily's shoulders sagged in relief, as she mouthed a 'thank you' to Jazz and James.
"So this is Maddie, Michelle, Maya, Saniya, Juee, and Katie."
"Hi!" they all said in unison. James tilted his head.
"Do you guys plan that, or what?" he asked.
"No, not really," said Michelle.
"It's just that we're psychotic psychos," said Katie, making her friends burst out laughing.
"Inside joke," explained Maya. Sirius nodded.
"So, Lils, how long are you staying?" asked Jazz. Lily looked at Gideon, who responded,
"About ten minutes. Not much, really."
"That is it?" questioned Saniya. Lily shrugged.
"Sorry, but I promise I'll visit more during the holidays."
"Oh, you mean how you promised to call?"
"How you promised to write letter?"
"To email?"
"How you promised to text?"
"To-"
"Alright, I get it!" said Lily. "But, excuses, I know, but my school's internet connection is never working right, and when it does, it is really bad quality."
"Oh, well that really sucks," said Michelle sympathetically. Lily nodded.
"It's like I can barely get online, or even use my laptop." The five pure-bloods nodded, as if they knew exactly what laptops and internet connections were.
"It's supposed to rain today," said Maddie, glancing up at the sky.
"Oh relax, Mads, there's barely a cloud in the sky," said Saniya, gesturing towards the sky up above. And she was right, there wasn't. The sky was a clear blue, scattered with puffs of small white clouds. The sun was shining brightly, creating shadows standing tall on the concrete.
"Lily, we have really got to get going now!" whispered Alice anxiously, fidgeting slightly, and biting her lip. Lily nodded, and shrugged casually.
"Just give me another few minutes. I have not talked to my muggle friends, in such a long time. I so need to catch up with them. Please?" she pleaded.
"Fine," Alice replied, sighing deeply.
"Thanks Alice, I really do appreciate it."
"No problem, I guess." Lily smiled at her friend.
"Whoa, those are some weird thunder clouds," commented Maya, pointing upwards. Juee laughed.
"What thunder- Oh. Those thunder clouds." She gulped. Jazz looked up and gasped. The sky was slowly darkening, and right where the sun had once been, was a large figure. It was a green skull and cross-bones cloud, wispy, yet still bright and visible.
"Jazz, that was the mark tattooed on that man's arm," whispered Cherry loudly.
"I know!" The young witches and wizards eyes widened as they grasped the situation, and the danger it could cause.
"We really need to get out of here," said Fabian. "Now, and fast."
"Obviously."
"Shut up James."
"Come on," protested Gideon.
"We can't just leave them! They are my friends!" cried Lily, gesturing towards the girls.
"Yeah, Evans, we know, but we can't exactly take them on a broomstick, can we now?" said Sirius sarcastically. Lily shot her infamous death glare at him, silencing him immediately.
"Is it just me, or did it just get like, ten degrees colder in here?" asked Maddie. Saniya shook her head.
"No, you're right, it is more chilly then it was before," she said, rubbing her arms. Juee's eyes widened, as she pulled out her camera, and took a picture of the figure in the sky.
"What was that?" asked Peter curiously. Juee looked at him strangely.
"A camera." Peter frowned.
"Camera's don't look-"
"Peter, not the time," said Lily.
"Juee, why'd you take a picture of that thing?" asked Katie.
"Because!"
"Because what?"
"Because it is the Dark Mark!"
"The what mark?"
"The Dark Mark! Dea's never going to believe this!"
"Maya, has Juee lost her mind?" asked Michelle.
"I am pretty sure she lost it years ago."
"Hey!" said Juee, looking offended.
"Just kidding," muttered Michelle, rolling her eyes at Maya.
"You better be, Shelly," said Juee, satisfied. Maya stifled a laugh.
"Lily, we have really got to go now, before we get attacked, kidnapped, or worse, murdered," Remus said in a low voice. Lily thought for a minute.
"How about we take my friends on the brooms, and then after we drop them home, we can use the charm I found to wipe their memories?" Remus looked impressed.
"Lily, you know that obliviate is a NEWT charm, right?" Lily blushed.
"Yeah."
"Impressive."
"Thanks." Alice turned to the girls.
"We have really got some explaining to do."
