Megatron was walking through the streets of Iacon thinking about the things Knock Out had said to him before he and Starscream went to Velocitron and the warlord had realized that the red medic was right and felt guilty about his treatment of the seeker.
But was suddenly brought out of his thoughts when he heard barking and saw Blue Jay running around letting out barks and whimpers that sounded desperate and when the bumble puppy spotted the former Decepticon leader he ran right to him holding one paw up.
"What's wrong?" Megatron asked as he pick up Blue Jay in his servo and was surprised that the bumble puppy didn't growl at him but looked upset and showed signs of destress. "Where's your master?"
Blue Jay whined and hung his head, And Megatron knew something must have happened and that Starscream was in trouble because from what he had seen Megatron knew Starscream would never just abandon his bumble puppy and judging by how upset Blue Jay was acting he could tell the seeker was in danger.
"I whis you could talk to tell me what happened." Megatron said as he tried to calm the bumble puppy down.
Just then they saw Swindle and Blue Jay climb down from Megatron's servo and made a B-line for the con artist and started growing up a strom as if telling him off.
Then Megatron went over understanding from Blue Jay's behavior that he must have something to do with whatever happened to Starscream.
"Swindle tell me have you seen Starscream lately?" Megatron asked. "Because his bumble puppy is upset and I think he's in trouble."
"No I haven't seen Starscream since the Decepticons." Swindle lied. "Now can you please get Blue Jay under control!" The combaticon complained about the bumble puppy who was barking and growing at him while hoping up and down to spite having an injured paw that he was still holding up.
"Riddle me this, if you haven't seen Starscream since the Decepticons how is it that you know the name of his bumble puppy?" Asked Megatron catching on to his lie.
"I..uh.." Swindle started having trouble coming up with what to say next.
"I would choose my words wisely and be honest if I were you." Megatron said darkly while glaring daggers at him.
"Ok I'll talk." Swindle replied knowing that trying to lie anymore world probably get him killed since Megatron is a bot you really don't wanna mess with.
Then Swindle told everything to the former gladiator who was angry when he heard about what he had done involving Knock Out and the racers and then telling Overlord about Starscream.
And knew the phase sixer must have taken the seeker and there was no telling what Overlord might do to Starscream.
"Call him!" Megatron hissed.
"Huh?" Swindle asked.
"Call Overlord!" Megatron demanded. "Then transfer the call to my com-link."
Swindle obeyed and called Overlord then transferred the call to Megatron.
"Hello Megatron it's certainly a surprise having you call me I was just in the process of trying to get a certain seeker to give me your location." Overlord said over the com-link.
"Let Starscream go he has nothing to do with this, your business is with me." Megatron told him and the former Decepticon leader could hear grunts in the background.
"You hear that seeker you've outlived your usefulness." Overlord suddenly said mockingly, Then Megatron heard Starscream's voice cry out in what sounded like pure agony.
"NO!!!" Megatron yelled over the com-link thinking Overlord had just killed him. "Starscream!"
"Haha don't worry he isn't dead yet." Overlord told Megatron darkly, And the former warlord felt a bit of relief when he heard Starscream moaning he didn't know how badly the seeker had just been hurt or what Overlord did to make him scream like that but at least he was alive for the moment.
"I'll come fight you but you have to release Starscream." Megatron said to Overlord trying to make a deal with him.
"Ok you have a deal I'll send you the cornets come alone." Overlord told Megatron before ending the call.
"Well that went well." Swindle then chimed in only for Megatron to punch him out.
Then he spotted Steve the Vehicon and handed him Blue Jay who he told him to take to Ratchet who could treat his paw and watch him not wanting the bumble puppy to get hurt or be anywhere near Overlord.
Then Megatron transformed and flew to the cornets Overlord sent him wanting to save Starscream.
Megatron followed the cornets to Kaon and ended up at the ruins of the very arena where he'd fought countless battles during his gladiator days.
And was greeted by Overlord who was waiting for him.
"Where's Starscream?" Megatron asked worried about the seeker.
"Over there." Overlord replied pointing to a corner of the arena where the seeker was laying badly injured and unconscious.
"What have you done to him?" Megatron almost growled at the phase sixer and there was no missing the anger in his voice.
"Before you called I was trying to beat your location out of him I must say I was actually impressed he didn't crack even when I started on his wings." Overlord explained.
"He didn't know where I was." Megatron hissed barely able to contain his rage.
"Yes he kept saying that and that even if he did he wouldn't tell me." Overlord replied. "And I even offered to stop if he would've called you but he refused."
This surprised Megatron even after all the times he'd hurt him and all the abuse he'd put him through all the pain, suffering and humiliation and Starscream was willing to protect him.
"Ok let's do this a fight to the death." Overlord told Megatron.
"Ok just like old times only no weapons I want to kill you with my bare hands." Megatron said the arena was bringing back memories from his gladiator days and he wanted to make Overlord pay for what he'd done to Starscream.
Then the two started fighting and we're a pretty even match, Both mechs were taking just as much damage as they were dishing out.
Meanwhile in the corner of the arena Starscream started to painfully regain consciousness and saw Megatron and Overlord fighting but saw that Overlord was hiding an energon dagger behind his back planning to cheat and use it to gain the upper hand.
Starscream used what was left of his strength to rush over and tackle Overlord who grabbed the seeker by the helm before stabbing him with the dagger then tossing him aside.
Megatron saw Starscream now just laying on the ground motionless with the dagger sticking out from the side of his chest and something inside him snapped.
And the former gladiator started going to town on Overlord beating the scrap out of him and since by attempting to use the dagger on him Overlord had thrown the no weapons agreement out the window Megatron got out his fusion cannon.
"This is for Starscream!" Megatron bellowed as he shot Overload through the spark chamber killing him instantly.
Then rash over to check on Starscream and saw that the seeker was in bad shape but his digits twitched he was still alive so Megatron wasted no time calling Ratchet and asking for an emergency ground bridge to the hospital.
Once it open Megatron didn't even wait for paramedics and rushed Starscream through it where Ratchet showed him to an operating room where he laid Starscream on the table then left to the waiting room so the medics could work.
Blue Jay came over to where Megatron was sitting in the waiting room to wait with him, And Megatron notice the bumble puppy's paw had been treated and now had a bandaid on it, But he could tell Blue Jay was worried about Starscream so started petting him feeling just as worried about the seeker.
A few minutes later Smokescreen and Bumblebee joined them and shared some good news.
"Ratchet was able to fix Knock Out's T-cog and said he'll make a full recovery after a few weeks of rest." Smokescreen explained. "He's awake and Override and Moonracer are visiting with him now."
"That's a relief I just hope Starscream will be as lucky." Megatron replied.
Then Megatron went to see Knock Out and told him about what happened to Starscream and the Aston Martin was worried about his best friend after hearing about the shape he had been in.
"I'm sorry for all the abuse I put him through." Megatron said also feeling responsible for the seeker's condition since Overlord had only taken Starscream and done that to him to get to him.
"Don't blame yourself you went there and saved him from Overlord and Starscream is a tough bot he'll pull through I just know it." Knock Out tried to reassure his former leader.
"And I'm sorry I zapped you." He added.
"It's ok I deserved it I was horrible to Starscream and you and everyone during the war and I mistreated Starscream even after it." Megatron told Knock Out remorse written all over his face.
"What if he dies and I never get to apologize to him?" Megatron added.
"Starscream will pull through this he's too stubborn not too that's actually something you two have in common neither of you are the type to just lay down and die you both refuse to quit no matter how many times either of you get knocked down you both always get back up again." Knock Out told him.
"Thanks Knock Out." Megatron said before leaving to go back to the waiting room wishing someone would come out and tell him if Starscream would pull through or not.
