A day or so later, the heroes had finally arrived back at the Nesting Grounds once again, this time, of course, with the herd in tow, who looked amazed and were marveling at the beauty of the valley. Many of them had not been to or seen it for a long time. Now they could be here, forever. Aladar and the others smiled at them. All they could think of saying was the one thing that was on all of their minds. "Welcome home," Aladar, Jack, Kujenga, and Cyra said to the herd.
One Parasaurolophus bellowed loudly and the herd immediately started running out to the pastures, eager to explore their new home. Smiling, the heroes, along with Aladar and Neera, watched them go, knowing they had successfully completed their journey. "You made it!" The heroes all looked to see the rest of their friends, along with Eema, Baylene, Url, Bruton, Marius and the lemurs walking over to them. "Ha ha! We sure did!" replied Ryan happily.
Zack and Georgina were quick to approach each other. For a moment the pair held their gazes before they gently leaned their foreheads against each other. "I told you I'd come back safely," the green and purple dragon said softly, as they pulled back. Georgina gently kissed him on the lips. "I know," the dragoness replied. "SPYRO!" A yellow blur shot past several of the heroes before Sparx latched onto the Purple Dragon's head with his arms in his version of a tight hug.
"Do you have any idea how worried I was?!" the dragonfly asked once he had let go. "We're glad to see you too, Sparx," Spyro chuckled, as did Cynder and Ribo. "The same can be said for the rest of us," agreed Baylene with a smile. "I'll say," agreed Eema. Bruton, on the other hand, looked at the heroes with a searching gaze. "Where's Kron?" he asked. Aladar, Neera and the group looked at each other before Peter answered him.
"We'll save the long story for later, but, for now, he was killed by the Carnotaur after being trapped on a ledge," the dragon explained. Bruton sighed and looked down. "Don't know why I even bothered to ask," he muttered. "It's not your fault, big guy, so don't beat yourself up about it," said Rainbow Dash. "She's right," agreed Blake. "It was his choice not to listen to us, and he paid the price for his actions."
The male Iguanodon nodded and he looked happier at those words. "Well," said Ryan. "I don't know about you guys, but I think that it's time we get down to the serious business of getting everyone settled down into their new home."
FOUR MONTHS LATER
The midday sun shone on a dinosaur nest made of earth and various leaves and twigs with an egg in the middle and several others forming a near circle around the rim of the nest. While it looked like the same one the heroes had seen on their first day, it wasn't quite the same one. A shadow fell over the nest before Aladar lowered his head and gently pushed the egg to be more inline with the other ones. He reared his head back up to where Neera was standing beside him.
They smiled at each other as proud parents. The Multiverse Heroes approached them, along with the lemurs, Eema, Baylene, Url, and the same two Iguanodon hatchlings. Zack, Marius, Bruton and Jack's wounds from the previous battles had fully healed and the trio were better than ever. Although the journey was finally over, the heroes had decided to stay on for a while and go out scouting for other lost dinosaurus who had already lost their homes from the impact.
They had been successful in both finding more and escorting them over to the Nesting Grounds. Today, they were about to witness the hatching of Aladar and Neera's children. "Move over, everybody. Bringing in babies is what I do best," said Eema as they approached. "I'd say it's been a few years since you've hatched an egg," chortled Yar. He and Eema started laughing. "You're right, so let me practice on your head," said Eema, giving him a glare, but it was clear to the others that she was joking.
"Did anyone bring any cameras? I brought mine!" said Pinkie Pie as she held up a camera. "Don't worry, we'll never forget this moment," said Jack with a smile, with Peter standing next to him. "Oh boy! I can't wait to see the babies come out!" said Ruby, getting excited. "Well, don't worry, it'll happen at any moment now," said Kujenga with a chuckle. "I'm excited about this. And I'm not just cracking yolks," Ryan said with a toothy grin.
Everyone looked at him for a few moments before they all burst out laughing at the purple and yellow dragon's joke. "That's a good one, Ryan!" laughed Yang. "And somebody says most of the time, my jokes are not even funny at all!" said Pavvy, looking at Twilight, who could not help but chuckle and roll her eyes. "I stand corrected," admitted the alicorn. "Look!" said Plio as one of the eggs started moving.
"Somebody wants to meet you," she continued as the shell broke. "It's hatching!" said Cynder. Plio carefully opened up the egg, removing the broken pieces of shell, and they saw a baby Iguanodon inside. "Awwww!" sighed the girls in awe. "Look at the little guy!" said Sparx. "He looks so CUTE!" said Cyra. "Ooh! Aren't you the sweetest small fry I ever did see?" said Plio to the baby. "Hey, little guy. He looks like me," said Aladar.
"Hey, he ACTUALLY does!" said Spike. Neera chuckled. "Meet your dad. He's not as crazy as he looks," she said to the baby as before nudging Aladar, earning a chuckle from all around. The baby cooed as he tried to break out of the egg. "Ooh. Oh, happy day," said Eema in awe. "Come on, little fella, you can do it," said Zack encouragingly. "Come on," added Amy. The baby then broke his right hindleg out momentarily before sneezing.
"Well done, little one," smiled Baylene. "Yay!" cheered Ruby. "Come here, you little rascal. Let me get a good luck at ya," smiled Yar as he reached down into the next and took the hatchling out and held him up for a better look. But then, just as baby Aladar had done before, the baby urinated on him once again. Everyone did the famous Muttley snicker as Yar's smile dropped before he rolled his eyes.
"Yep. You're your father's son, all right," the elder lemur said before handing the hatchling to Plio while Suri giggled, as did everyone else. "Hey!" they heard Zini yell. They all looked over and saw their friend hopping towards them with a group of five female lemurs following after him. "Look what I found! New neighbors!" shouted Zini. As they gathered around him, he spoke to them.
"Any of you ladies up for a game of er... Monkey in the middle?" he asked. Giggling, the girls started piling on him. "Easy, now! Easy! Hey!" laughed Zini. "Well, I did say that Zini would get his girl one day!" remarked Romar as everyone started laughing again. "Everything is full of surprises, aren't they?" asked Spyro. "This calls for a celebration!" called Ryan. As everyone cheered and laughed, Aladar and Jack suddenly roar.
Everyone stopped and looked at them. The two friends smiled at each other, and they resumed roaring. Smiling, Peter roared as well, and Weiss joined him as she drew her sword and shot particles of dust into the sky. Zack, Georgina, William and Ryan started roaring as well. Frost started howling as Crusher, Rexy, Blue, Tobern, Spyro, Cynder, and Ribo roared into the air.
The lemurs and Octa started sounding off into the air, as Cyra, the two Iguanodon hatchlings, Pod, White Tip, Tobern, Fredryker, Romar, Wisp and Shard started roaring and screeching as well along with Eema and Url. Finally, Baylene, along with Bruton and Marius raised their heads high and roared with pride and celebration. All over the Nesting Grounds other dinosaur hatchlings were emerging from their eggs as their parents joined in with the roaring as well.
All over the grounds, dinosaurs roared up to the heavens as they celebrated the beginning of a whole generation, as the younger ones played around with each other before coming to a stop at the edge of the lake as a flock of birds flew by.
None of us really knows what changes, big or small, lie ahead. One thing is certain. Our journey's not over. We can only hope that in some small way... Our time here will be remembered...
And they will be.
