Chapter 4: True Colors
Agent BM: It might seem like it
As the Maroni Gang came closer to her, Honey was in complete fear. What would happen to her? Would they beat her to a pulp? Kill her then throw her in the ocean? Or take her back to their hideout and do terrible things to do?
When they stopped, Daniel looked closely at her.
"Hey." he said.
Honey closed her eyes, and waited for her fate.
"Are you okay?"
Honey opened her eyes, and saw that Daniel was looking at her with concern.
"Uh...I'm okay." Honey stuttered out.
She tried to stand up, but winced.
"Hey, you look hurt. You better get to the hospital." another member observed.
That surprised Honey, were they concerned about her?
"How old are you, sweetheart?"
"16." Honey replied quietly.
"You better call your folks, they'll need to know about this."
Honey reached into her purse, and pulled out her phone. Luckily it wasn't damaged too much. After calling her parents, the men then led Honey to their car.
"W-w-what are you doing?"
"The hospital's only a few blocks away. We'll take you there."
That stunned Honey. Getting into a car with strangers? Let alone with five dangerous gangsters? No way!
"No, please just let me go." she begged.
"Hey, hey calm down there, blondie." Daniel told her.
"Yeah, we're not gonna hurt ya."
"Really?" Honey asked surprised.
"But you're the Maroni Gang. You're dangerous bunch of criminals."
They all looked at each other, with slightly annoyed faces.
"Oh, if we were such monsters why are we offering to drive you to the hospital?"
That made Honey think carefully. If they had wanted to harm her, they would've done it by now.
"Okay."
Honey then let them lead her to their car, and some others got her bike. Then they all got in, and drove to the hospital.
"So what's your name, sweetheart?" Daniel wondered.
"Honey, Honey Potts."
"Nice to meet you, Honey Potts. I'm Daniel Maroni, and these are my associates, Stu, Paulie, Chester, and Francis." Daniel introduced.
The other men, smiled at her, waved, and said "hi". Honey smiled a little, and waved.
At the hospital, Daniel checked her in, and Honey got taken back and looked at. A few minutes later, Trevor and Wanda rushed in.
"Excuse me, we're Mr. and Mrs. Potts. Our daughter Honey was involved in an accident." Trevor informed the receptionist.
The receptionist looked on his computer, and then asked them to follow him.
"Dr. Stone, the girl's parents are here."
Honey was lying on a bed, she had a couple bandages on her face, and her ankle was bandaged up.
"Mom, Dad." said Honey.
"Oh, Honey thank goodness!" cried Wanda, throwing her arms around her daughter.
"Is there any serious damage?" Trevor asked the doctor.
"Nothing external, but we want to take her for a cat scan just to make sure everything's all right." Dr. Stone told.
And with that they took Honey away.
"Uh, doctor, who brought her in?"
"Five men, they're out in the waiting room."
"You go thank them, dear. I'll go up with Honey." Wanda told her husband.
As Wanda followed her daughter and the doctor, Trevor walked out to the waiting room.
"Excuse me, did anyone here bring in Honey Potts?" he asked.
That's when the Maroni Gang stood up. When Trevor saw them, he froze. He knew about the Maroni Gang, and couldn't believe that these dangerous gangsters actually helped his daughter.
"Mr. Potts I presume?" Daniel wondered.
"Uh...yes." Trevor replied, nervously.
"Is she doing okay?"
This surprised Trevor, these gangster took his daughter to the hospital and were concerned about her?
"She's all right. I'm sorry my daughter hit your car, she shouldn't have been on the road in her state."
"Hey, it's no problem. No permanent damage done."
"Oh, well thank you again."
After a while, Honey and Wanda came back.
"Good news, Trevor. Honey's scan looks fine, and the doctor says she can come home tonight." Wanda informed.
"That's good, and Wanda come meet who helped Honey." Trevor urged.
When Wanda saw the Maroni Gang, she too was shocked. But after explaining everything, Wanda too thanked them.
"You all take care now." Daniel told them.
And they all went their own ways. On the drive home, Trevor and Wanda gave their daughter a little talking to.
"Honey, from now on whenever you have to do a late shift like this after school, we're going to be picking you up." Trevor told her.
"But..." Honey started.
"Sweetheart, we know you have a bike and we appreciate that you were thinking of us. But we don't want something like this happen again. You could've been really hurt." Wanda explained.
Honey understood, and then replied.
"Okay, Mom and Dad."
On the way home, they picked up some takeout for dinner, and spent the rest of the night relaxing.
The next day, Trevor and Wanda had Honey stay home from school. So Honey spent the day watching TV, reading books, playing on her phone, and just relaxing.
"You know this really isn't so bad." Honey said, as she lied in bed.
"We're glad you're okay, Honey." Buzz told her.
"Yeah." agreed Bumble.
"I still can't believe the Maroni Gang helped you." Stinger replied.
"Neither can I." Honey mentioned.
It got her thinking.
"You know guys, everyone's always saying that the Maroni Gang are vicious blood thirsty criminals. But yet they helped me."
"It is surprising." remarked Buzz.
"Yeah, so maybe they're not monsters after all."
"So what?" asked Bumble.
"Well, maybe I should show them my gratitude."
"How're you gonna do that?" Stinger wanted to know.
"I'm going to bring them some of my honey buns."
"You're going to bring honey buns to a bunch of gang members?" Buzz wondered.
"Yes, yes I am."
"Honey you're either very brave or very crazy." Stinger remarked.
Honey just rolled her eyes at him.
