Gabriel came to Charity with her anniversary breakfast.
"Happy Anniversary, babe." he says. But Charity was worried about her little boy as she took the breakfast and ate it.
Luke wasn't at home. He was on Good Morning America. And he was about to announce that he was a horrible performer.
He began to speak as the siblings were watching. They gasped.
"He's not horrible. Brandy was the one who tripped." Lola says. "I never liked Brandy."
Luna glared, but then she saw Luke's tears on national TV as he told Robin Roberts about wanting to give up performing. That broke Luna's heart. Luna taught Luke everything she knew about music, concerts, and performance.
"Poor Luke…" Leni says.
"You need to replace Brandy." Lola says.
"Never." Luna says.
"So, now you're supporting him instead of Luke." Luan says coldly.
"Brandy isn't that bad. He made one mistake. I know Brandy and Luke can win." Luna says.
"That mistake is what is causing Luke to make his next announcement." Lola pointed at the TV as Luke spoke.
"I-I…" Luke stammered.
"No!" Chalice says, not wanting him to quit. Luke sniffed.
"Brandy is the one who tripped." Chalice says.
"My reputation is ruined!" Luke screamed.
People pitied him. After that, Chalice took him home.
The triplets were trying to learn Randy's secrets.
"Time for our secret discussions. Something no one should know about." Alem tuber says and speeds odd
"So he is cheating…." Troy says, recording.
With Luke, he broke. Chalice had called the cups to see this. They pitied him.
"Perform without me tonight." Luke says. "I'll just drag you down…."
"No, you won't, you're our main attraction." Cuphead says.
"If you don't perform, then neither will we." Chalice says.
"Bandmates have to stick together." Mugman says, holding Luke's hands. Luke sniffed.
"Hello, everyone, we are minutes away from exposing Randy's deepest secrets." Troy says, spying on what appears to be him talking to someone. As one of the words was cheating.
"See, he's cheating." Troy says as the triplets bounce in joy as Angry Luigi and Alem tuber turn to see them.
"How long have you been there?" Alem tuber asked glaring.
"You think they heard us?" Angry Luigi asked.
"Pretty much." Alem tuber says, holding Bill's memory wiper.
"The world knows how you two have been cheating." Tristan says.
"We were role-playing! Well, that's the end of our discussion." Alem tuber says.
"You're cheating! Admit it!" Troy says.
"No, I ain't no cheater!" Alem tuber says.
"You planned to take us out. You're the cheaters!" Angry Luigi says.
"We're just that good." Troy says.
Meanwhile, Lori took Charity out while the siblings got ready for the party. Luna got the text from Chalice and the cups and gasped.
"What?" Lucy asked.
"I should read this." Luna says.
"What does it say?" Luan asked.
"Luke hasn't been his normal performance-happy self. He says he may not even go on tonight. While Cuphead says he's still performing with Lucy, he says that he doesn't know if the Elemental Strike will go on tonight." Luna read.
"But how do we cheer him up?" Lucy asked.
"We should all be there for him." Leni says.
The siblings go to find Luke. They find him at the place where the group is practicing.
"Hey, Luke, we're all here for you." Leni says.
"Yeah, Mom loves your performances." Luna says.
They hug him.
"I'm going to be on the 6:00 p.m. news. I'm going to repeat everything I said this morning." Luke says.
"No!" The siblings say.
Lucy reads him a poem. He looks at her sadly.
"You're amazing, Luke. It's Brandy who screwed you over. If you go with Luna You'll win" Lola says
"Not cool, Lola, he's not horrible." Luna says.
Later that day, Luke walked off to the news station. The cup trio followed him.
"I think he likes the cups better than us." Lucy says.
"I sent them to watch him." Oliver says. "He still loves you and all, but this is something they have to watch him do."
"I can watch him, too. You're one of the problems." Lucy says, leaving.
Luke began to speak to Jeremy, the head reporter.
"Hi, Luke. Earlier, you said you were a terrible performer. Would you like to tell our viewers what happened to make you think that?" Jeremy asked.
Luke explained. People gasped as they looked at footage of Brandy tripping. The triplets laughed at that.
The cups hold Luke. They then took their turns speaking.
"He's not horrible." Chalice says.
"He's better than anyone I've ever known in the performance business, other than Chalice, of course." Mugman says.
"Ouch…" Cuphead says.
"I am the best." Chalice says.
After that, they head back.
The siblings finished decorating. Luke refused to be in attendance. Yes, it was his mother's anniversary, but he just wasn't feeling happy.
Lucy offered Charity her gift. But after Charity watched the news, she couldn't bear to see her little boy the way he was.
"Mom?" Lucy asked. "I did my best. But I see you hate the party. It's okay, I didn't really want to do this for you. We both know I hate seeing Luke upset."
Lucy leaves to attend to Luke's needs, but Charity says that she should be the one to do that.
"But, you know I'd just rather be with Luke." Lucy says.
"Luke is my little boy. He's been through hell, and this is a time where a boy needs his mother." Charity says as she goes off to find Luke.
Charity finds Luke sobbing into his hands as he sits on the roof of the party venue.
"Honey bucket, oh, Luke…" Charity says when she saw how much emotional pain he was in.
Luke sobbed. "Mama…" Luke sniffed.
"I'm here, sweetheart, I'm always here…." Charity says as she holds Luke. "There, there…."
Luke sniffed and buried his face in Charity's dress. He was really hurting emotionally.
Lucy watched them. She felt bad that she couldn't cheer him up.
Charity brings Luke in as he clings to her. She decided to celebrate her anniversary, but Luke was staying by her the entire night.
She began to open her anniversary gifts.
Gabriel got her a new limo.
"Gabriel, darling, this is amazing!" she says.
Lucy shows her gift which was a picture of Charity winning America's Next Hitmaker.
"Oh, my gosh! This is amazing!" Charity says. Luke looked at the picture, too.
"I got a gift, too!" Leni says giving Charity an anniversary dress. Charity smiled at the dress and allowed herself to change into it before coming back to Luke and sitting with him.
Later, Chalice danced with Luke. Luke smiled a little, looking at her. She kissed him.
Then Luan was juggling. Luke looked down, but Charity enjoyed it for a bit.
Then Lola did a pageant performance for them. Charity smiled and clapped.
Lucy and Cuphead had a piano as Charity was confused. Lucy never performed for her or even Luke.
Luke finds Chalice.
"Chally, we're performing tonight. My mother wants me to perform." Luke says.
"Are you sure?" Chalice asked him. Luke nods.
Lucy and Cuphead began as Lucy was nervous doing this on public.
Luke watched.
"She's good. Damn you, Rita!" Charity says.
Lucy finished and rushed off as her anxiety got the best of her.
Soon, Elemental Strike came up to perform as everyone paid attention to this. Luke came up with the group and began to perform "Come Go With Me", "One Fine Day", "Surfer Girl", and "Goodnight, Sweetheart" as the last song in the set.
Everyone cheered as Luke was singing front and center.
They loved him and tossed flowers to him.
Luke smiled, feeling a little more confident.
Then Luke felt tired. Mainly from crying so much.
"Can we get to the cake now? My sweet treasure deserves a treat almost as much as me!" Charity says, smiling at her son.
Luan smiled, bringing it out. Charity smiled at her cake, which was themed around her 20 years of performing. Luke smiled at the cake as well.
Everyone began to sing to Charity. Charity then made her anniversary wish.
She wished Luke would win and show the world he's a star. She blew out her 20 candles and smiled before carrying Luke off to tuck him into bed.
Lucy just helped clean up from the party while the others ate the cake.
