As always Sans got home in an flash, as always.
" i'm home! " the skeleton walked in only to find his younger brother sleeping on the sofa. " heh. " and brought him into bed. "
Sometime later, Papyrus started moaning and crying. Somebody (skeletons don't have body!) Someone was clearly having a nightmare. The older brother went to wake up gently his bro.
" paps, pst, papyrus. PAPYRUS! " Sans shouted so loud that even turned part of the text in caps.
" HUM, WHAT, WHERE, HUMAN? " Paps woke up " BROTHER! YOU'RE HOME, I'LL GO MAKE FOOD FOR US!"
"what. " sans was shocked " i told you to eat without me"
" WELL… IT WASN'T THE SAME WITHOUT YOU! " Papyrus got up to make food.
And that was a thing that Sans could not argue with. They depended on each other. They were kind of orphans. Well at least to other people. They once had a father but HE FELL INTO HIS OWN CREATION THROWN BY HIS OWN SON. BUT WHY SURPRISED IF HE WAS A TERRIBLE FATHER? Sans is thankful that everyone forgot him. Even Papyrus. Their father… science… lab…
" alphys! " Sans exclaimed as he forgot to tell alphys that the machine worked… at least he thought so. But that was kind of unclear. He just needed to check something to be sure.
"SANS, DINNER IS READY! " Papyrus called
"coming! " Sans walked down stairs.
" BROTHER… MAY I TELL YOU MY NIGHTMARE?"
"sure"
" WELL… I REMEMBER HEARING A SHOUT…"
At that time
Papyrus wakes up in the dreamverse and it's all dark around
"bro?"
"SANS! YOU LAZYBONES! YOU FELT ASLEEP WHILE HELPING ALPHYS?!"
"what? i didn't- " Sans said but he cut off himself and when with a surprised\terrorized look but then
CLING
Sans's left leg dusted and he knelt as losing it.
" S-SANS?! " Papyrus shouted and caught him before he reached the ground " WHAT HAPPENED?!"
"i'm sorry… n-no time… " Sans placed his hand on Papyrus's cheek as his other leg turns into white dust " i remember when you were just a babybones… not bigger that my arm… heh, look at you now: taller than me… cool… brave… innocent… and n-nice."
At this point only from the waist up was intact but quicly vanishing
"you've made me so proud of you… i'm a proud bone-other" ( ok that was terrible)
" HEH…PLEASE… MAKE MORE…"
But… he was too late…
"bye…bro- "Sans turned to dust and his soul turned visible.
Back to the present
"T-THEN YOU WOKE ME UP." Papyrus's face was sad "BUT IT SEEMS IT WAS JUST A DREAM!"
" yeah… just a dream. " Sans knew it was real. He was there and as it seems-"by the way, it is delicious!
