Warning: language in this short rant.

Sorry, this is not a chapter, yet.

This is a short note of update people and a general apology for the delay in updating.

I know I had told a few people that I would post around Christmas or New Year's Eve. But the fact is, this was a very busy Christmas (two and a half years old daughter will do that to your Christmas!) and a packed New year celebration. I was resigning myself not to be able to post at any point of my vacation and try and update upon returning to a more normal weekly schedule (aaah, the relaxing times when you're at work!).

And then it happened.

Let me explain that. I live in France, in Paris suburbs. So, last Wedneday, when those bastards attacked Charlie Hebdo, killed 12 people, then a cop, and then took hostages in a jewish shop and killed four more people, not that far from my own town, I just couldn't focus on my writing. This was shocking and terrifying, and I just wasn't in the right state of mind.

Now, I'll try and post as quickly as I can, if only to show these medieval, retarded, brainwashed, hateful SOBs that they can't scare us.

Just to be clear, I have no problem with religion. While not practicing any, I can understand the need someone has to find a higher meaning in their life, and I'm generally okay with that. What happened last week had nothing to do with religion. This was antiquated, stupid sectarism, coming from people who try to read sacred texts to suit their narrow minded view of the world. I'm a college graduate, and during my studies, some close friends told me elaborately of Islam, and of the great philosophers the Muslim civilization gave the world (for example, Averroes, look him up, the guy was brilliant). All of these great people, alive and dead must be ashamed of what these barbarians are doing in their name.

I don't mean to turn this story into a political rant, so I won't elaborate further, but I needed to vent it out, somehow and again, apologize if my updates are slow to come.

I'll be back soon, and in the meantime, Je suis Charlie.
