Chapter 2: A Day In The Life

In an apartment building, Daisy was busy watching TV. The phone was ringing. Nicholas went to the phone and answered it immediately.

"Shay Siblings Community Service, no problem to big," he said.

He was talking on the phone with someone who had something mess up with a machine.

"No don't worry about it, just leave it to us," he said.

Daisy was watching something about a mysterious robot seen in the night. This peaked her interest.

"Ok we'll be there in a minute," Nicholas said putting down the phone.

He went into the living room where his sister was.

"Daisy, we got an oven that's messed up and their tools aren't doing the job, which means we got work," he said.

"Oh that's cool, meanwhile on Paranormal activity, this guy just found out that there was some kind of giant robot going around collecting parts," Daisy told her elder brother.

Nicholas chuckled and then turned the TV off.

"Only paranormal thing I know is that we're still managing to make a living while goin' broke," he said with a smirk.

"We ain't 'goin' broke' Nick, we're not even close."

"Tell that to the parts and pieces you keep spendin' money on," Nicholas said, "Plus these articles."

"Yea well its got the article about the legendary Deku who might make an appearance in America again," Daisy said.

"Yea, its also got an article about one of the scientist who plans to make a little girl out of sugar spice and everything nice."

"Well you don't know, it could possibly happen," Daisy said, "Anything's possible. You just gotta believe!"

Later on, the two of them were heading to the destination where the job needed to be done. Daisy was driving the van.

"Oh I believe alright," Nicholas told her, "I believe these jobs are gonna help us with rent. That's what I believe. Take a left here."

Instead of going left, Daisy turned right.

"Daisy I said left!" he said, "What the hell are you doin'?"

"Daisy's not sure, just trust her," Daisy said, "Daisy has a good feelin' about this route. Daisy's instincts are telling her this route will be faster. Breathe in big brother, we'll get there!"

When it came to driving, Daisy tended to get a bit excited and take alternate routes to get to her destination. They made it to the building. It was a restaurant. Nicholas put on his tool belt and Daisy did the same. The two of them walked in. One of the employees walked up to the pair.

"Are you here for the service?" he asked.

"You know it," Daisy said, "We're the Shay siblings and service is our game, we're not like the others who live for the fame."

The employee directed the two to where the problem was. The oven apparently wasn't heating up the way it was supposed to. Nicholas looked inside and saw that some of the oven weren't working right, or were old. He turned to his sister.

"Wrench," he said.

Daisy got out a wrench and gave it to him.

"Wrench," she said.

Nicholas screwed a few things loose and replaced them with new parts. He then looked at the fan blades and noticed some crust and leftover objects. He put his hands on them and heated them up.

After a few hours, the oven was working like it was supposed to again. The manager couldn't be more grateful for their service.

Back at Dr. Light's lab, Rock was watching him work on some kind of robot prototype.

"What you got there Dr. Light?" he sked.

"Its a little surprise for you and Roll," Dr. Light explained, "I think you'll enjoy it."

Rock sat on a chair.

"So out of curiosity Dr. Light? How come you seem to be at odds with Dr. Wiley about battle type robots?" he asked his mentor.

Dr. Light turned around and sighed.

"Because I felt like those kind of robots would cause more harm than good," he answered, "A few years ago, we developed a Sniper Joe, but it malfunctioned and caused chaos. I felt guilty about this and decided to create robots that wouldn't fight."

He then put his hands on Rock's shoulders.

"You and your sister are the robots of the future, and I know you'll do great things one day. You just need to find your calling."

The doors opened revealing Roll.

"Rock, Dr. Light, come on, I need to get some cleaning done in here."

"In a minute Roll," Dr. Light said with a chuckle.

A few days passed. Rock was starting to learn about the world he lived in, and about heroes among other things. He also got to know his 'little sister' Roll and they started to share a bond. Meanwhile in another lab, someone was sneaking inside. He had some kind of chip, and another computer, then started typing in some kind of code. He was planning to steal all of the robots that Dr. Light designed.

Dr. Light was snoring in his sleep, dreaming about something. Roll rushed into his room concerned.

"Dr. Light! Wake up!" she said.

Dr. Light slowly started to wake up.

"What is it?" he asked.

"Dr. Light the robot masters! They're gone!" Roll exclaimed.

She brought him to the lab where the robots were held.

"I went in to clean this room and I noticed they were missing!" Roll said.

Rock rushed into the same room where the other two were.

"Dr. Light, you gotta see this!" Rock said.

He turned on the TV. There was a newscast about a robot wreaking havoc at the lab where Dr. Wiley was located. Dr. Light was concerned. At that location, officers were holding back a crowd. The robot that came out was Gutsman. His eyes looked different than before. It was almost like he had been hypnotized. Nicholas and Daisy arrived on the scene, in their hero costumes. Their hero names were Pyhron and Stretch.

"Sis!" Nicholas said.

"I'm on it," Daisy said.

She started helping with the evacuation. Nicholas paid his attention to Gutsman.

"Gutsman what are you doing?" he asked.

"My job obviously!" Gutsman said.

"I don't recall your job being to terrorize people and wreck stuff like Wreck it Ralph," Nicholas commented, "The point is, what you're doing is wrong, and I gotta stop you."

"Just try it, little man," Gutsman said.

"I'll show you little!"

He jumped up and channeled Photon into his right hand.

"Photoooooooon HOOK!"

He punched Gutsman with a right hook that was channeled with Photon. Gutsman was knocked back a bit. However he was still unphased. He chuckled.

"Is that all you got?" Gutsman said, "Heroes don't go out shouting their super moves. That's a way to give the enemy the advantage."

"Shut it tough guy," Nicholas said.

"There's no need for anymore fighting Gutsman," someone said.

From the smoke came a bigger robot, with a silver coating of paint. Nicholas knew this armor all too well. It was something he helped Dr. Wiley develop a while ago. Someone was piloting it.

"Where did you get that suit?" Nicholas asked.

"I think you know very well where I got it," he said.

The pilot pulled out a lab coat with a familiar nametag. He then threw the labcoat on the floor. Nicholas assumed something terrible happened.

"Dr. Wiley…. No…." he said.
