"Penelope!" A voice called out from across the room.
Garcia stopped to see her date rush to her side.
"Hey, I've been looking for you. You just rushed off and didn't come back. Is everything okay?" He asked with sincere concern.
Garcia couldn't hide her anxiety. "Oh… Lachlan… I, um, I'm kinda dealing with something right now."
"I'm sorry, is there anything I can do to help?"
"Oh, I don't think so. Oh, wait, yes there is, have you seen my friend, Alex, within the last two hours?"
"No, I haven't," he said regrettably.
"I hate to do this to you, but I really do have to go," Garcia turned back toward the front of the hotel.
"Julian Sloane has her, doesn't he?" He asked, as if he was confident in knowing the answer.
Garcia stopped then slowly turned around. "Why would you say something like that?" She tilted her head as she stared at him.
Lachlan took steps closer, "Come on, we need to have a chat."
Reid and the team assembled in the backroom of the bar when Garcia entered with Lachlan and Ethan following close behind.
Prentiss stood up when she saw them. "I'm sorry guys, but this isn't the best time."
"Actually, we better make time." Garcia announced. "Go ahead, tell them what you told me."
"Ethan and I work for the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission. We have been on this island for the past three months looking into Julian Sloane," Lachlan explained as they both showed their credentials.
"We are FBI," Hotch announced as he pulled out his badge from the safe.
"What would the FBI be doing hunting down someone like Julian Sloane?" Ethan asked.
"The FBI isn't," Rossi stated, point of fact.
"I don't understand." Lachlan looked at the worried group.
"We are here on vacation and we happened to recognize Sloane," JJ admitted.
Lachlan looked at the group, "Then perhaps we can be of assistance to each other, since we are both after the same goal."
Reid stared at them, still distraught, "And why should we trust you?"
"They showed you their identification," Garcia spoke out.
"Anyone can flash a badge, I need to know if these guys are legit. For all I know, you could be working for Sloane," Reid snapped, catching his friends off guard. "You have one minute to convince me that I can trust you."
Reid stood eye-to-eye with Lachlan, both men appeared as if they would come to blows. Lachlan let out his breath slowly then took a step back. He looked back up into Reid's eyes, "Because Julian Sloane killed my sister."
The room of profilers were certain he was telling the truth.
"What happened?" Reid asked.
"My sister went on holiday to New York and never came home." Lachlan took a seat at the table. "The long and the short of it is that I dedicated the rest of my life to finding out what happened to her. I used my connections with law enforcement to find answers. I caught a break last year when we were able to identify her body which was found in Japan."
"What led you to Sloane?" Morgan questioned.
"She had a tattoo on her left hip, the Roman Numerals: X-C." Lachlan stared down at the rolled out map of the island that was across the table. He looked up to Ethan, "Show them our map."
Ethan reached into his back pocket and pulled out a well-used paper and worked to unfold it. He set their map down on top of the team's. Theirs showed the surrounding islands as well and was covered in handwritten notes of locations and information.
Reid poured over the data, "So, where would he have Alex?"
"Why would he even take Alex?" Ethan questioned. "No offence, but she isn't really the same profile of the girls he has been known to keep."
The group looked to Reid to explain.
"Alex isn't FBI, she knew Sloane personally. Ten years ago she worked for him at one of his clubs. They ran into each other on the island and he has made it known that he wanted to spend time with her," Reid made sure not to convey anything about the CIA. "I honestly have no conceivable idea as to why he would want to take her."
"We can look at victimology later, Reid, the important thing is that we find her." Morgan tried to shift the focus.
Reid nodded, "You're right. Finding her is our first priority." He turned to the Aussies, "What are our options?"
"There is a broken down dock over here," Ethan pointed out.
"Yeah, Morgan and I were there. We ran into a very large man who was apparently keeping guard." Prentiss explained.
"That would be Tajo," Ethan spoke up. "You do not want to mess with him."
"We got that impression as well," Prentiss smirked. "So what is he guarding?"
"We have seen them use that dock in the middle of the night, but weren't able to get much information. We followed one of their boats as closely as possible but unfortunately we didn't get that far. We believe that the boat docks at this island over here," he pointed.
"So, that's where we should look?" Hotch questioned.
"There's another option," Lachlan announced. "Sloane has an estate on this island over here." He pointed in the opposite direction.
"An estate? Why are we just hearing about this now?" Morgan looked to Reid then to Hotch.
"He never mentioned anything like that," Hotch confessed.
"Does he get there by boat, too?" JJ asked.
"Usually he takes a helicopter."
Reid rested against the table as he stood over the map, studying it. "We need to split up and look for her; that will be the quickest way to finding her."
Alex hummed to herself as she drifted in and out of consciousness. Her eyes flickered open as she tried to place where she was. She noticed that she was still in her underwear and as she sat herself up could feel a massive hangover.
"Damnit, he drugged me. That bastard." Alex said to herself. "Stupid, Alex, just stupid. Such a rookie move."
A sudden wave of nausea overcame her as she was putting the pieces together of where she was being held. She stood up and quickly found a locked door. She was able to hear two distinct voices speaking other the other side but unable to make out what they were saying.
She looked around the cramped compartment for anything that could be used as a weapon but to no avail. "What good would that do? It's not like I could hide it. And even if I get myself out of this situation, I still have a bigger one to deal with." She put her hands on her hips as she felt the swells around her. "I'm still on a boat in the middle of nowhere."
