" Behold!" Luz said dramatically " The sacred tomb of Glyphs!" She held up a book as the light shined in from the window behind her. When the light passed the Tomb was revealed to be a notebook with ' The Sacred Tomb of Glyphs ' written on the front.
Amity stares at the notebook " The Sacred Tomb of Glyphs ?'' Amity raised a eyebrow with a smile. " Well, It's sacred to me " Luz said hugged the book close before the girls smiles and laughed before they sat down next to each other on Luz's sleeping bag with Ghost and they go over the new glyphs that Luz discovered.
"Beast keeping magic" Amity reads the title on a page with a combination of fire and plant glyphs.
" It took me a while but I finally found he right combination that taps into Beast Keeping magic" Luz said before grabbing a piece of paper " Let me show you " Luz quickly drew the fire and plant glyphs and placed the paper on her chest as her body glows orange for a second.
" So , What does it do ?" Amity asks. At first Luz doesn't say anything and she gets up from her spot and walks toward a wall and begins to crawl up the wall like a spider until she's at the ceiling looking down at Amity " TA DA!".
"Luz , that's incredible!" Amity said staring wide eyes at her girlfriend.
"Thanks " Luz smiles and tries to jumps down, but her hands were still attached to the ceiling "Heh, stilling working on that part ". Amity gave Luz a small smile before twirling her finger, an abomination arm reached up, grabbing Luz and pulled her off the ceiling as the spell wears off.
Luz hugs Amity as thank you before returning to her spot and Luz's door creaks getting their attention, they look up to see Eda's palisman, Owlbert at the door. "Owlbert?, what are you doing here?" Luz asks as Owlbert flies over and lands on Luz's shoulder, nuzzling her cheek. "Aww ,did you want some cuddles?" Luz said affectionately, scratching under Owlbert's chin making him hoot enjoyment.
Amity smiles at the sight as she also strokes Ghost's fur earning happy purrs from her. Luz looks between the two palisman's and smiles" You thinking what I'm thinking?".
"Probably not" Amity admitted.
Luz jumps to her feet , shouting " Palisman fashion show!". There's multiple flashes and after each flash we see Owlbert and Ghost wearing clothes ,ranging from hats to sunglasses.
Amity and Luz are seen cuddling with each other while going over the pictures they've taken and Amity looks up for a split second before doing a double take and what she sees makes her smile lovingly and she nudges Luz , who looks at Amity in confusion until Amity points to where the palisman's are sleeping and what Luz sees makes her cover her mouth " Oh Dios mio " Luz coos behind her hand because Ghost had wrapped herself around a sleeping Owlbert to keep him warm.
" This is the kinda thing pictures were made for" Luz whispers, taking a picture of the sleeping duo.
" I know and I'm still in dressing mood " Amity said.
" Me too, but we should let them sleep " Luz before a devious smile appears on her face " But , we do have one other potential modal ".
Amity raised a eyebrow before her eyes widened in realization " Oh" and copied her girlfriend's smile.
Downstairs, King was addressing his stuffed animal, Francisco "Alright Francisco, things have been quite lately, but we can't let our guard down. Danger could be lurking anywhere, just waiting to strike!".
A shadow casted over King "Weh?" King turns around to see a grinning Luz and Amity.
" Who wants to play dress up?" The girls pulled out a tiny outfit that'll fit King.
King looks at them wide eyed and immediately shouts " Nope! " and takes of running like the time Principle Bump chased him with a broom and the girls are hot on his heels.
Eda and Lilith are watching them with Hooty , who is sleeping in Lilith's lap as the girls run past them , chasing King who is shouting " No no no no no !" As the girls managed to grab him.
" Release me ! " King shouted as the girls lifted him over their heads " I command you ! Eda help!".
" Should we do something?" Lilith asks , watching them dressing up a protesting King.
Eda holds up a finger " Wait for it " and Kings squeak of rage is heard which makes Eda bust out laughing "He's like a little tea kittle " Eda snorted.
" Edalyn " Lilith said with a stern face " You shouldn't laugh at the misfortune " her lips twitched " Cries of oth-" she couldn't hold it any longer and she also busted out laughing.
" TA DA!" The girls cried out which makes the sisters look and what they see makes them double over in laughter because King was dressed up as a Christmas elf.
" What do you think?" Luz ask King , who was checking himself out a the mirror.
" I look... terrifying!" The bells on his shoes jingles as he walks "And it even makes noise that'll let my enemies know that they're doom is coming for them!".
" Actually King, that's not -" Amity tries to say when Luz puts her hand on her girlfriend's shoulder.
" Let him have this one " Luz said and Amity nods as she leans on Luz's shoulder with a smile as the two watches King who continues to work on his 'army' before Amity remembers why she came to the Owl House that makes her drop her smile.
" Hey Luz, can... can I stay here for a while?" Amity asks which makes Luz very concerned.
"Why? , did something happen?" Luz asks getting the attention of Eda and Lilith as they watch Luz guide a sad Amity to the couch, so that she can explain what is going on at home.
Amity and Luz sits on the couch that's next to the sisters, Luz rubs her girlfriend's back to comfort her as Amity takes a deep breath " Dad and mom are getting divorced " Amity said with her ears drooping.
Luz,Eda and Lilith looks at one another before looking back at Amity as she continues " Dad's had more than enough of mom's attitude especially when she's coming after me. So, he told us to stay with our friends while he dealt with mom. That's why I'm here and my siblings are staying with their friends ".
At first, the girls don't say anything for they feel terrible for Amity , she's been through so much since her childhood and they could relate to that for Luz , Eda and Lilith had some hardships in their lives.
" It's about time that your dad finally wised up to Odalia " Eda remarks breaking the moment which doesn't make Amity feel better as she gets up from the couch and walks toward the door, hugging herself after saying " I need some air".
Luz look at her girlfriend in great concern before turning to Eda with a irritated look " Eda!''
Eda looks at her student " What?, you've only met her a few times before me and Lilith went to school with her. Even back then she's still a real b-".
"Edalyn!" Lilith said sharply cutting her off from finishing that sentence while covering Hooty's ears who woke up with a sleepy " Hoot?".
" Oh please" Eda rolls her eyes " You know exactly what I'm talking about.
" Well, yes and I agree completely " Lilith admitted , taking her hands off Hooty's ears and points to King and Luz " But not in front of the children ".
But they didn't hear Lilith or Eda for King was still play with Francisco and Luz was staring at the open door before she gets up saying " I'll be right back ".
" I'll go with you!" Hooty volunteers now wide awake and tries to follow Luz only to be stopped ny Lilith.
" Hootsifer, I believe that Luz and Amity needs some quality girlfriend time " Lilith said.
"Okay!" Hooty said and returns to his spot, shutting the door behind Luz.
Outside, Luz looks for her cotton candy haired goddess and spits he sitting close to the cliff, staring at the moon. Silently, Luz walks over to Amity and sits next to her, the two doesn't say anything for a while until Luz breaks the silence " Amity, I'm sorry about Eda , she doesn't know when to stop and think, she's always into-".
" No Luz , she's right" Amity said which makes Luz look at her in disbelief.
" About what?" Luz asks in confusion.
" About everything, all my life I was trying to prove myself to my mom but instead she was grooming me to become someone I didn't want to be, all the pain and heartache throughout the years, I believed that it wouldn't end and that I would be trapped in darkness bound in chains. But the I saw a light at the end of the tunnel and that tunnel was you, Luz." Amity said and turns to Luz only to be tackled by Luz in form of a hug.
Amity can feel Luz trembling and Amity wiggles her arms free and returns the hug, they stay like that for a few minutes in each other's embrace and Luz tights her hug " Amity , I can relate to that because I was very unique in a way and I was always picked on but my dad always says when I'm down ' Why blend in with the crowd ? When you were born to stand out' and to this day I took that in every stride when someone would try to mess with me ". Luz said and Amity was vey touched by the words from her father and the girls gets up from the ground and dust themselves off.
" Thanks Luz, I need that " Amity said .
" Happy to help " Luz said " and your more then welcome to stay here at the Owl house ".
" Really?" Amity said.
" Eda wouldn't mind" Luz said as they walk back to the house before Luz suddenly stops which makes Amity bump into her and looks at her.
" What ?" Amity said
" You did pack a toothbrush, right?" Luz asks.
" Yeah, and I also brought a few things from home" Amity nods " Hope that's ok".
" Oh course , there's plenty of room " Luz smiles.
With that, Amity twirls her finger to summon her stuff which landed on the ground, kicking up dirt and stones, making Luz cough as the dust clears Luz looks up and what she sees makes her eyes widen " Oh boy" because stood at least a dozen of suitcases that towers over Luz.
" Yeah, sorry Luz I meant to take a few suitcases " Amity chuckles nervously.
" That's alright " Luz assures Amity as she opens the door " We'll make it work".
The two pokes their head inside to see Lilith in the kitchen with Hooty while Eda is playing Hexes Hold'em with Owlbert and Ghost is watching them , Eda glances up for a minute and smiles at the girls.
" Hey you too! You feeling better boots ?" Eda asks the youngest blight.
" Much , thanks to Luz " Amity replies.
" Hey Eda, is it ok for Amity to stay here with us ?" Luz asks her mentor.
Eda thinks for a minute " Yeah yeah " Eda said waving her hand more focused on her cards "She's welcome to stay but touch my apple blood and your sharing a room with Hooty".
"Ok ok, I won't touch your apple blood since I like spider cider better" Amity raised her hands in surrender and summons her abomination to carry her bags to Luz's room while the girls talk on how to rearrange Luz's room for the two of them " I can't believe that I'm going to stay at the Owl house with you Luz" Amity said watching her abomination take the suitcases to Luz room with Luz.
" No problem, my cotton candy haired goddess " Luz said with a smile making Amity blush like mad when Luz called her that name.
But the moment was broken at the sound of bells ringing and King voice " Oh a diary. Let's read it Francisco''.
Amity eyes widen in horror after hearing that " Stay away from that !" Amity shrieks and charges into the house with Luz right behind her.
Luz screeches to a halt as she watches Amity tackles King into a headlock as everyone else watches the crazy show in amazement just as the abomination walks past them taking up the last of the suitcases.
King holds the diary close to keep Amity from grabbing it " So , it's gonna be a usurp?" King grunts " Fine! " and turns to the kitchen " Hey Hooty, Amity's sad and could use a hug " King shouted.
" Really?" Hooty said popping up out of the kitchen.
Amity's eyes widen as King continues " That's right, give her a big hug!".
" On it, hoot hoot! " Hooty said and shoots himself at Amity, who screams as Hooty wraps himself around her making Amity dropping King in the process.
King quickly moves away from a wrapped up Amity and holds the dairy above his head " Haha!, the secrets of Amity Blight shall be revealed!" King laughed until the dairy was taken out of his paws "Weh?".
And the book was now floating height above King's reach and Luz suddenly appears out of thin air , holding Amity's dairy while giving King a scolding glare" "Nice try , King " Luz said and walks to Hooty , who still has Amity coiled " Alrighty Hooty , let her go".
" Ok Luz , she's all better " Hooty said as he released a now fuming mad Amity and she conjured a fireball in hand was ready to throw it at a scared King " Why you little!".
Luz quickly kisses Amity's cheek to distract her and at the same time using a ice glyph to put out the fire ball " Thanks Hooty , that'll be all " Luz said to Hooty.
" Remember, I'm always here if you need me". Hooty said and slinks back to his door.
Luz hands Amity back her diary and turns to King " King ,that wasn't nice and diaries are private for a reason" Luz said.
"Oh please, if you have a secret than why would you write them down in a dairy where anyone can read it?" King said , waving his paw.
" That's ...a fair point " Luz said , realizing that King had a point and before they can continue Lilith comes out of the kitchen and comes between the two " Alright alright, break it up and Luz has a very good point King , you shouldn't be snooping around other people's things for it could hurt their feelings, what if someone did that to you?" Lilith said.
"They shudder in fear at my wraith if they dare do that to their King!" King said.
" So, King thinks that he sounds scary?" Amity whispers to Luz .
" You have no idea " Luz whispers back before yawning.
"Well , it's getting late and I think we should call it a night" Eda said , seeing that Luz is getting tired and ends her game with Owlbert and picks up King.
" I agree " Lilith yawns.
" And scoop!" Luz suddenly picks up Amity in bridal style.
" Luz!" Amity squealed with a bright red face.
" Let's go roommate'' Luz said as she darts upstairs to tryout more glyphs or snuggle with Amity and Owlbert and Ghost are right behind them.
"Don't get any ideas " Eda shouts up the staircase and she chuckles to herself when she hears " Eda!/ Owl Lady! " from the girls.
The girls had changed into their night clothes and moved Amity's suitcases to a corner to make more room to work with for the night as Luz sets up another sleeping bag for Amity.
" There you go " Luz said ,finishing up the second sleeping bag " luckily, Eda had a spare sleeping bag ".
"Thank you " Amity smiles as they sit down on their sleeping bags with the palisman's in between them.
The girls are enjoying themselves with studying glyphs under the dozens of light glyphs Luz had summoned to give more light to read until Luz breaks the calming silence " Amity, I'm really sorry about King trying to read your diary ... and I know just the right glyph for the job". And Luz quickly flips through the pages until she finds what she's looking for, It's a glyph like shield and Luz tears out the glyph and hands it to Amity.
" What's this?" Amity asks Luz ,confused about the glyph.
"This glyph will protect your dairy or any other of your private stuff and it can only be unlocked by the person who casted it ".
" Wow, that's impressive Luz" Amity said placing her diary back into her keepsake box and places the shield glyph on the box , she taps the glyph and a magical shield appears on the box.
" Thanks ... just don't use it to block magical attacks " Luz said looking away awkwardly " I learned that the hard way ".
" You tried it on yourself, didn't you?" Amity said with a deadpanned look.
" Eda and I where doing a practice duel to see how much Eda had learned with the glyphs and I used the shield glyph as Eda used the plant glyph and mine didn't work and well, ...and the next thing I knew I'm upside down in a tree" Luz said with a awkward chuckle.
" That explains why you had leaves in your hair last week " Amity said in realization.
" Yeah " Luz chuckles.
"Hello!" Hooty said, appearing and scared the girls.
" Hooty , what are you doing here?" Luz gasps , trying to calm her racing heart.
" Don't mind me " Hooty said and uses his tube like body to push Luz's and Amity's sleeping bags to the opposite sides of the room " Good night " and Hooty slips out of the open window.
The girls looks at each other before hearing Hooty's voice again "Lulu , I've moved the beds away from each other like you asked , And I was super discreet about it ".
Luz shakes her head with a smile before looking at Amity and pats the spot next to her with a smile and Amity gladly took the invitation as she moves back to her spot next to Luz, Luz sticks her head out the window " Hooty, we were only studying the glyphs!" Luz shouts at Hooty before glancing up for a second before doing a double take and what she sees makes her eyes widen in astonishment and she mutters under breath " Tan hermosa ".
" Luz, what is it?" Amity asks , after hearing Luz mutter. At first Luz doesn't say anything and Amity notices that Luz is staring at something in the sky and she also looks in the direction that Luz is looking at and she's also in awe " Holy titan " for the night sky was painted with different shades of blue , purple and magenta with the stars intertwined in the display of colors.
Luz and Amity refused to unlock their eyes from the night sky for they never seen anything like this before on the Boiling Isles " Amity , have you seen anything like this before?" Luz asks.
" No , and this is a first for me seeing something that's this beautiful " Amity said ,summoning her phone scroll and takes a picture of the painted sky and Luz shuts the window until she notices something weird on the window, she squints her eyes as she clears away the dirt to see a glyph in the stain glass pattern which makes Luz gasp in shock and darts for her notebook.
" Luz, what are you doing?" Amity asks ,startled from Luz moving so quick .
" There's a glyph in the stain glass pattern " Luz answers, tracing the glyph and Amity gets up to see the new glyph for herself.
The girls stares at the new glyph for it was a strange glyph indeed for it has a feather inside " Luz , out of all the glyphs , this one takes the cake" Amity said , glancing at Luz. Only for Amity to see that Luz has that grin on her face when she finds a new glyph " Uh Luz , isn't a little late to try out the glyph?"
" Nope!" Was Luz's answer and presses the glyph with her hand.
A massive blinding light shines in the girls faces forcing them to shield their eyes from the light, what they don't see is that the glyph fades into Luz's skin and the light fades away as the girls recover their sight and they see that the glyph didn't work much t Luz's disappoint or so she thought.
" Aw man ,I was hoping to see what the glyph could do " Luz said , sitting down.
"Luz , you never know what the glyph or spell could do " Amity said , seeing that Luz was nodding off "But right, lets go to sleep".
"Good idea "Luz yawns.
The tired girls gets into their sleeping bags and settles with Owlbert and Ghost and sends the light glyphs outside into the sky and they fall asleep, snuggling into each other as they are swept away into the realm of dreams , unaware that the next morning they are in for a shimmering surprise.
