Bluey and Mackenzie sat together watching the clouds in the sky pass by, the two of them had been quiet as they were bored from playing and weren't sure what to talk about. Bluey had just admitted to killing her younger sister, albeit accidentally. He didn't want to upset her but his curiosity was eating away at him. Bluey guessed at what he was thinking and how he was staying quiet to avoid upsetting her "You can ask me anything, I trust you" Mackenzie laid back on the floor, darting his eyes towards her "You sure you won't get upset?" Bluey nodded "Promise". He took in a deep breath then exhaled "Do you parents know? If they do, did they talk to the coppers?" Bluey shook her head "Well they were there when it happened" Mackenzie blushed out of embarrassment "...right" Bluey smiled a little "But no, they didn't tell any coppers" she sighed recounting her parents initial behavior "At first, my mum wasn't talking to me and my dad yelled at me, I really believed they hated me for what I did you know?" Mackenzie nodded, he wasn't surprised by what she was saying but listened as she continued "Then I started having crazy dreams about Bingo, and not being able to save her….over and over" Mackenzie had closed his eyes but continued to listen "That sounds horrible"

She then thought back to the first nightmare she had after Bingo's death "There was one where Calypso was the judge, and everyone in class was stopping me from getting away from one of Bingo's friends, she had a knife and was going to kill me" Mackenzie's eyes shot open upon hearing this "Everyone? Did that include me? And your parents?" Bluey nodded "You all wanted me to die" Mackenzie sat up quickly upon hearing this "Well it was just a bad dream, I'd never want you to die" this surprised Bluey, while she was sure he wouldn't actually want her to die, his confession really surprised her "Oh yeah? Why's that?" Mackenzie blushed once again "Come on…dont make me say it" Bluey was amused by his reaction "Go on?" Mackenzie grunted "I consider you my best friend" Her tail wagged a little "Really?" He rubbed the back of his neck "I mean Jack, Rusty, Winton and Snickers are fun and all but they're always doing their own thing, but you? I don't get bored with your games'' Bluey raised an eyebrow knowing he wouldn't play anything with her "Reeeally?" He simply rolled his eyes "Okay so I don't want to make the fairy garden with you but the point is, I think you're more fun" Bluey giggled at the mention of the fairy garden "Wait what about Pretzel? Do you ever play with him or the terriers?" Mackenzie thought about it for a second "Well the terriers like playing too rough a lot and Pretzel….well he likes being a loner"

After a few moments of silence Mackenzie had more questions for Bluey "I know I didn't arrive when the others did but if your friend didn't mention any of that to the others, would you have ever told us what happened?" Bluey thought about the question: would she have ever told them "I don't really know, I don't think so" He then asked his next question "From what Rusty told me, what will you do if Coco and Honey start treating you differently?" Bluey looked saddened, she really enjoyed playing with them but it seems like they wouldn't be willing to play with her anymore now that they deemed her a murderer before they could even find out the truth. "It's like Calypso said before, only they're in charge of themselves" she gave small smile before she quoted her father "Nothing we can do about it now, it's out of our hands" Mackenzie smiled at her "That's a pretty mature way of thinking"

"I think I'm out of questions for now, and I'm sorry if they made you sad" Bluey shook her head "No, actually I think I needed someone to talk to" He raised an eyebrow listening to her "Really?" She nodded in response "I have my parents to talk to but they are way older than me, and Lucky seems busy with his own family problems and…Judo isn't around a lot…when she isn't acting weird about things" She turned her head, looking at both of her neighbors homes, she didn't hold anything against Judo but she was irked at the way things had went earlier, perhaps though it was for the best, she felt closer to her friends and Mackenzie probably wouldn't have told Bluey how he saw her as his best friend. "I know all of you are trying to make me feel better but if im being honest I'm probably going to have another nightmare where I ruin Bingo's life again, or fail to help her…again" Mackenzie looked sad "Sorry, I wasn't trying to kill the mood I just-" He interrupted her "Bluey, it's fine" He gave her a reassuring smile "You're going to need some time until the pain goes away" Bluey wiped her eyes, trying to shake her negative feelings off "How do you know?" He thought about it for a second "Well, I don't but I heard my mum say time heals all wounds, she says tears helps those that are strong and tough, and you're one of the toughest girls I know, so it should be okay to cry as much as you need to" Bluey quickly hugged Mackenzie tightly and buried her face into his chest. "Th-thanks…kenzie '' Mackenzie was surprised by her sudden action and the fact that she didn't even say his full name. He patted her on the head to comfort her as she sobbed, he figured all her smiling and laughing had been her trying to hide her pain from everyone else. For some reason Bluey continued to hug him tightly even when he thought she would stop, at first it was a bit awkward since her tears were getting on his chest, but he would wrap his arms around her to hug her back and show that he cared.

"You know I'm a bit surprised, aren't you usually impatient?" Mackenzie was a bit confused, "Where did that come from?" Bluey teased him "Well everyone left hours ago, and your parents haven't shown up yet?" Mackenzie laughed a bit. "Well they're pretty busy today, planning my birthday, it's next week" Bluey let out a surprised gasp, with everything that happened in these past three months, she had not thought of anyone's birthdays lately. "Happy Early Birthday!" She gave him a lighthearted smile. "Thanks, I hope you and the others will be able to make it" Bluey nodded with excitement "Um yeah, I should be able to!" He smirked "Great because when the games start I'm gonna flog ya!" Bluey chuckled at the thought "No, I'm gonna flog ya!" she looked at the opposite end of her yard where she and Mackenzie were standing "Just like…NOW!" she dashed towards the opposing wall clearly challenging Mackenzie to a race "HEY!" He shouted and chased after her. The two laughed as they ran to the other end. They both stuck their hand out to touch the wall first, however they would both touch the wall at the same time "I WON!" shouted the small blue heeler. "No way, I won that!" Mackenzie argued. The two glared at each other for a solid 2 seconds before the burst into laughter, when they had both calmed down, they had played on the swing that dangled from the tree. "You know earlier you called me Kenzie?" Bluey looked at him "I did?" He nodded "Yeah, nobody's ever called me that before" She laughed upon hearing him say that "Guess you got a cute little nickname" Normally it would bother him but this time it didn't "Yeah….cute"

Not long after their conversations the two would remain in the backyard, just chatting over small trivial things. Their conversations would turn into some more competitive races and games while they enjoyed each other's company even more than before. The sun had set and the moon was starting to rise, not long after Mackenzie's dad would finally arrive to pick him up, he would talk with Bandit while waiting on Mackenzie "You know I really had fun today" Bluey smiled at him "I did too" Mackenzie didn't know why, but he felt a bit sad that the day had to end, he stood up and turned around to get in his dad's car "See you at school tomorrow Bluey" Bluey hugged him one last time, softer than she had before and looked into his eyes "See ya, Kenzie" she smirked and gave him a playful wink. It didn't mean much to her but to him this hug felt different than her usual friendly hugs or even when she hugged him tighter earlier, in that quick moment when she called him that nickname instead of his actual name, he felt warmness and his heart skipped a beat. He got in the car and his dad waved at Bandit as the prepared to drive off, soon afterwards his dad spoke "So have a good time? Did you invite her and your friends to your birthday?" Mackenzie smiled and nodded "Sure did! They all want to come over" His dad looked at him through the car's rear view mirror "Good on ya kid! Anything interesting happen?" Mackenzie thought for a second "Interesting?" The image of Bluey looking into his eyes as she gave him a hug flashed through his mind "N-no! Nothing out of the ordinary really, oh but I did totally beat Bluey in a race" His dad laughed a bit and rolled his eyes "Suuure ya did, she totally didn't flog ya" Mackenzie groaned "Come on dad! I totally flogged her!" Mackenzie's dad laughed, he enjoyed teasing his son even if he was sure that his son really did win the race.

After Mackenzie was gone Bluey sighed as she stared at the moon, all of her friends had went back to their homes and she was lonely in the backyard again. "Oh Bingo, I wish I could hug you again". "That's funny, last I checked you liked to push people instead of hug them" Bluey jumped upon hearing another voice, she looked down to see Chucky standing in the yard next to her own "What do you want?" Chucky smiled at Bluey "The same thing you do Bluey, I want Bingo to be alive, but also, I want a murderer like you to get the justice you deserve" he sighed and turned away from her "I guess shows like Cat Squad dont show the cruel truth, bad guys don't get what they deserve" Bluey growled at the smaller dog "WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!" Chucky turned around and returned a the growl back at her "I KNOW YOU KILLED BINGO, I KNOW YOU CAUSED MY DAD TO KILL HIMSELF, I KNOW YOU RUINED MY LIFE AND I HATE YOU" Bluey had gasped and quickly backed down "I didnt…I mean your dad" Chucky laughed "After the incident with Bingo, the guilt haunted him so bad it made him kill himself Bluey, so YOU killed our dad and even worse? You killed Bingo, your sweet innocent sister" Bluey's eyes widened, she had never knew the exact circumstances surrounding Pat's death but it did add up in her mind. Instead of saying anything else Bluey quickly turned and faced her house. "No" Chucky smiled a bit "I have an idea, a way for you to make things right" He touched Bluey's back to try to get her attention "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Bluey quickly darted towards her own house. All she heard was Chucky cackling before she slammed the door shut. Bandit went to see what the commotion was about "Bluey are you okay?' Bluey nodded "I just…..need a bath" Bandit looked outside but it was too dark to make out what was happening, he wanted to ask but he believed that his daughter would tell her what made her upset eventually.

A.N: And with that, I gladly finish another chapter, this one is shorter but I was excited to get this one done. This one is short I know, it was going to be even shorter since it was just going to focus on Bluey and Mackenzie but I decided to add the bit with Chucky. I also enjoy the idea of someone as young as Chucky serving as a tormentor towards Bluey, will things have a peaceful resolve in the end? Who knows? Well except me, I know of course…

See you next time!
