Authors note: Another time skip as we jump to Prom. If it hasn't been made aware I am pretty awful at description of clothing, lol. While my plans to submit a chapter a day hasn't held up at the beginning of the month I am doing my best to ensure this fanfic finishes its run while Pride Month is still officially going, so, we are in the final stretch or stretches of seeing this story completed. While there is no plan for a sequel I haven't closed the door on more Sashanne content in the future or next month, ya never know.

CH.16: Slow dancing and confrontation

Prom was finally here. It is hard to imagine just how much time had passed to get them to this moment and yet here they were. Sasha was feeling quite nervous about this but knowing that she was going to prom with her girlfriend and of course Marcy it felt like everything was going to be alright. It was also kind of like the end of a long road given with prom it was putting them closer to graduation and their paths diverging from there. Sasha tried to not let it ruin the mood as they stood in the bathroom doing their makeup.

The three of them had managed to get a limo to take them to prom and of course Marcy's boyfriend Bart was going to be meeting her there. Yeah hard to believe Mar Mar now had a boyfriend but yeah it was a development that had happened and she was happy for her friend. Bart had also been approved of by her and Anne because if this person was going to hurt Marcy they had to know upfront or better yet see what potential they had.

Bart couldn't be a better choice for Marcy because he got her language she spoke, and, he got the type of gal she was. Sasha finished applying her makeup and struck a pose which caused Anne and Marcy to laugh. "Hey, I'm just looking my finest here, also you keep laughing like that and you will smear your makeup. You only have one prom...well...lest you are held back, and something tells me we are all graduating so get with the program ladies."

"Yeah even Anne's grades aren't looking too shabby," Marcy notes as she applies some eye shadow.

"Hey, but, then again yeah my grades had been struggling since coming back from Amphibia but I have managed to make a comeback...with a bit of help from Marcy of course. How have you and Bart been Marcy?"

Sasha half listens to the two as she adjusts her outfit. Sasha had chosen to wear a pantsuit of sorts as this year going to a dance she wanted to look spiffy. She still enjoyed wearing dresses but she didn't like being attached to one look, placed in a box and kept from experimenting. It was also her first time wearing such an outfit and she had to have some help in getting the right feel of it and thankfully she had someone who was patient with her answered all her questions.

"Bart has been nothing but amazing. We watched that Rings marathon and the both of us were talking the whole time about the plot and the characters. My parents approve of him and he is going with me to the convention coming up in summer-."

"How will you mange that and that school you got into?" Sasha inquires. She knew that with the college acceptance letters going out that Marcy would naturally be the first to get hers.

"Relax, the convention happens before I head off, and turns out Bart is also going to the same school I am. I mean of course we won't have the same dorm, pfft, but even so it will be nice to know our relationship will not be put on pause-."

Anne and she exchange looks and it dawns on both of them the pending timeline of their approaching parting of ways. Sasha looks down and Marcy of course realizes she might have gone too far there.

"Oh guys, no, I didn't mean it like that...I love you both and-." Sasha smiles sadly but walks over and hugs Marcy and pulls back a bit.

"It is fine Mar Mar, and, besides both Anne and I have talked about it and we are going to make the long distance work. Far as the three of us this friendship doesn't have to end with graduation as we'll see each other when time allows it. Graduation doesn't have to be the end of all things and no matter how far away we are...phone calls and the work will be afforded. I have a car, you just got a car Marcy, and Anne-."

"I will get a car, soon, and maybe pass my driver's test like before graduation..." Anne was the only one among them without a car or a license but she honestly didn't mind picking her up.

"You got this Anne, anyway, we should probably get going because the limo will be here pretty soon and not even sure how long a limo driver will wait."

The trio soon move out of the bathroom and proceed to the front door before stepping out into the chilly night. The limo of course is waiting there for them and Bart of course is waiting there. Bart is looking dapper in his tux and his brown hair has some bangs to it and his eyes are alight the moment he sets his eyes on Marcy.

Sasha can appreciate that given the amount of work that goes into dressing up on such a night and Bart was a good guy. He has a bit of height to him over Marcy but when he takes hold of her hands in his they are gentle and they complement each other so well.

"Your chariot awaits M'lady, oh, and of course your friends, shall we get going?" Sasha fought a chuckle at that, well, least he managed to save himself.

"Least we are going to prom in style," Anne comments. The four of them head inside and the excitement they all share is palapatable as they head off.

The prom is literally packed and it was very hard to navigate without bumping into someone in idle gossip mode or possibly just gabbing away about the evening and its festivities. Sasha held Anne's hand while Marcy was holding onto Bart's. Anne's dress was quite stunning as it was a green in color and and held her form perfectly. There was a flower in her hair and not sure why but the image of Anne with that branch or twig in her hair from her time in Amphibia came up to her.

"So this is Prom, wow, kinda glad we waited to go till now," Sasha finds herself saying to which she gets a little elbow touch from Anne.

"Oh please, if you had the chance you would have came here if invited," to which apparently even Marcy joined in.

"Yeah I mean c'mon Sasha you are all about dancing and being out there," and perhaps her friends were right. However it wouldn't be prom without the three of them here...and with Bart now part of the group it was now four.

"Perhaps, but, sounds more like old Sasha, far as new Sasha she is all about self-improvement and being a better person. To be fair guys the old me would've gone out of her way to get to prom and drag you guys with me even if you weren't having a great time. I look back at old Sasha and that is all I do, because, she is behind me now and I don't wish to return to her ever again."

"Look Sash, I agree with what you say, but don't discount all of old Sasha because without her strength of character surviving in Amphibia would've been quite an ordeal and you were with us in the end so that says a lot there. I love both versions of you and while yeah times were difficult with dictator Sasha and such...there was no way to truly write you off, not completely, and I couldn't stand not having you in my life."

Sasha smiles some and leans over kissing Anne's head. Marcy smiles over at her and she appreciates this moment and tries her best not to get too sad given the ambiance and the atmosphere they were all sharing on this wonderful night.

"Well look who finally decides to show to prom. I had a feeling you losers would be here." Sasha immediately picks up on the snide tone and looks over and sure enough there she is.

"Robin Stone, as I live and breathe, to what pleasure do we owe that you slithered your way out of your expensive home? Surely it was not to grace us with your presence for that would be quite a change from your routine of turning others into stone..."

Sasha watched those green eyes roll of hers and how she flippantly pushes her red hair back. Her hip is pushed out just the slightest and the outfit she wears is a plunging red that shows ample amount of cleavage to the way that her expression is haughty and superior to them. She had done quite a lot of damage already from the party to usurping her position of leading the Cheer team, something she had held for a bit but that was back then and she was looking ahead to being far away from her as humanly possible. It didn't help matters the way she had dealt with her which had led to her being sent to the Principal's office.

"Very cute, oh, suppose congrats are in order as you appear to have finally found someone beneath you, then again, you were always good at leading these girls around-."

"That is enough Robin...this is not the time or place for this," Sasha looks over as Anne steps in front of her and tries to placate to her, reason with her.

"Do you really think this is going to end well for you? You all are still no where near the level of influence and popularity that I hold here. I still throw the best parties and even when I am not invited to one, heh, think I forgot about Nell's Halloween dud? Also not sure anyone is buying this romance of yours, call it short lived given the amount of same sex relationships at our school, which apart from yours, is none, says quite a bit about your future together-."

"I warn you Robin...you are treading on thin ice here," Sasha moved to stand face to face with Robin avoiding the worried look on Anne's face.

"Maybe this is all a phase, I mean let us be real here Sasha...did you even show the remote interest in Anne prior to going to that frog inhabited world? Maybe I just don't get it because I am straight and actually know my life won't be as difficult as your two lives are going to be out in the real world with all that hate-."

"Do you want a repeat of what happened to you in the auditorium? I swear if you keep talking trash that is exactly what is going to happen here, but, this time there won't be anyone stopping us." Sasha was infuriated with her talk and her fists were at her hips but she wasn't ready to bring them to action.

"I am just saying it as it is Sasha...best you hear it now before you go out there and try to kiss in public and not have people staring. Best to know now rather than have a cold splash of reality set in when you are targeted or given looks of judgement. If you wish to ruin your chances of graduation, go ahead and hit me...dyke..." She said it just enough to make Sasha snap. Her arm was drawn back and that is when a figure in blue stepped in.

"She won't, but I will," sure enough a hand came into contact with Robin and it was the slap heard all around the room. Nell Parker was there looking fabulous as ever and Robin slapped her back. Nell took it without so much as whimpering or faltering. Nell soon charged at her and the two power houses were pulling hair and shouting insults caught up in the cheers thrown about.

Eventually one of the faculty who was looking after the prom intervened and as Robin attempted to state her case she was hauled off. Nell for her part merely looked over at Sasha and probably knew what she would've risked had she done what she intended.

Nell for her part had nothing to say but it was read in her eyes that no matter what happened to her that she was to continue on and never let someone like Robin get to her. Perhaps she should have just let it be and enjoy the prom over this petty little exchange that got her and her friends riled up. Sasha felt ashamed that she got Nell caught up stepping in overt his and it might very well have her held back just prior to joining them on the stage for graduation.

"Sasha are you alright?" She didn't realize she was shaking till Anne touched her arm and she loosened her nails as they had dug into her palm. It took so much restraint not to put Robin in her place and had it not been for Nell's intervention...she may have just gone through with it.

"Y-Yeah, I will be, sorry you guys...it is just whenever it comes to Robin I lose it." Sasha looked at Anne, Marcy, even Bart.

"Don't sweat it Sasha...I realize I'm still new to this group but if you ever need backup, and such, and maybe if it is some guys I can handle, you can count on me. However for now I feel like dancing so Marcy would you do me the honor?"

"Sure, I didn't dress up like this for nothing...besides...it isn't my usual comfort zone but for one night and it being my final in a school like this, lead the way fair knight." Marcy giggled as she was led off to join with Bart.

"I ship them so hard," Anne says and Sasha concurs with a soft noise. It is true Bart hadn't been part of their group long but his support meant a great deal. Holding out her hand she looks to Anne.

"I realize this evening has kind of gone to the fan in terms of crazy, but, I hope it hasn't been ruined too much not to have this dance, so, care to do me the honor of being my dance partner Boonchuy?"

"I would love that very much Sash," and with that she led Anne to the dance floor. The music began to slow down and she placed her hands at the small of her back while Anne's were twined behind her neck. The two sway to and fro gazing into each other's eyes as the night magically takes them forward. It is in that moment among many others they share a kiss and nobody else in the room matters but them, to each their own but love is love and no matter what Sasha loved Anne Boonchuy with all her being and for her this night would forever live on as a special one nobody could take away.

Authors note: Only two chapters left. I normally attempt to make my chapters shorter but inspiration hits so might as well see this to the end with two chapters remaining, yes, you read that right. Pride Month is still going strong people and I imagine I am not the only one posting such content so be sure to check out the other work found on here, otherwise shall we continue moving towards the conclusion? Also Sashanne could've been achieved if Disney had gone there, if only.
