Once Sloane was confident that Duncan had taken Hotch far enough away from Alex, he felt the time was right to move forward with his plan.
"Karl," Sloane called out.
"Yes, sir," he replied as he stepped out from the shadows.
Alex sensed her fate was getting cut shorter and shorter the longer she was being held on that island. Yet, she continued to plot and plan a way out, however she knew that it would most likely be a fruitless endeavor; she saw no obvious escape.
"I will be escorting my guest to the bunker; you can go ahead with the next part of the plan," Sloane informed as he took hold of Alex and walked to the far corner of the room.
Sloane pushed open the bookcase to reveal a hidden hallway, which matched the same feel of the grim corridor that the team was lead down before they were locked to their respective chairs.
At the end of the passageway Sloane opened the panel to the keypad and quickly entered the 16-digit code and the door slid open. They stepped into the room which was more of what Alex expected of a bunker. It was cramped, secure, stocked with supplies and provided protection.
"Please," Sloane extended his hand allowing Alex to go into the next room before him.
Alex cautiously entered and noticed a king size bed in the middle of the room with the back of the massive headboard facing her, she walked around and was startled to find two young women clutching to each other sitting on the bed. They were wearing next to nothing and had terror in their eyes.
"What the hell?" Alex exclaimed as she rushed towards the girls. "You need to let them go!"
"Which is the very reason why you are here," Sloane stood at the foot of the bed, staring down at all three of them on the bed.
"What are you talking about?" Alex asked.
"You will be instrumental in deciding the fate of these girls," Sloane smirked.
Reid led the team from their cell and back into the house without being seen, the problem remaining hidden with their large group. While they all agreed that Alex needed to be found, they're priority was locating Hotch.
Reid located an empty bedroom where the group could gather and go unnoticed… at least before the guards started searching for their missing prisoners.
"So, do you have a plan, Superman? Or are you figuring this all out as you go?" Rossi asked.
"Don't worry," Reid nodded, "I'm getting there."
Everyone looked at the door as the knob turned. They prepared themselves to attack until they saw their friend step into the room.
"Hotch," the group remarked in unison.
Duncan soon followed while still holding his Desert Eagle handgun. Morgan rushed over and pinned him to the wall while JJ removed the weapon from us hand.
"Morgan, he's okay," Hotch announced.
Morgan stared back at his boss for a moment then released his prisoner. Duncan smoothed down his suit jacket then adjusted the knot of his tie.
"Nice shiner," Rossi quipped at Hotch being roughed over.
"I'm fine."
"Where's Alex?" Reid rushed towards Hotch.
"She's still with Sloane."
"And you just left her with him?"
"I was ordered to get Aaron out of there," Duncan started to explain. "I believed that if we joined up with your team that we would have better odds of facing him together."
"And why would you be helping us?" Rossi asked.
Duncan stared back to the senior agent. "Because she's a friend."
The profilers shared looks with each other and knew he was telling the truth. They then turned to Reid eager for direction.
"Alright, I have an idea, and we're going to need your help," Reid looked at Duncan.
Duncan casually stepped out of the room and headed directly to his office. Once inside he secured the door and rushed to pull out a large black case from a locked cabinet. With the case in hand he rushed back to the team without arousing suspicion.
He returned to the room where they were anxiously waiting for him. He placed the case on the table and scrolled through the combination locks then popped it open. The hard plastic case was lined with charcoal gray foam and loaded with a cache of weapons.
"Here you go," Duncan handed out a gun and extra clip to each member. "I assume you all know how to use these."
"You don't have to worry about us," Prentiss assured him as she locked the loaded clip into her sig sauer.
Duncan peeked out the door to see guards rushing past the door. "They know you've escaped, so if we're going to do this, we have to do it now."
After a briefing from Duncan with information they needed concerning the estate, they split up and spread out into the household.
JJ gradually walked down the long hallway when she was startled by a guard who stepped out in front of her. She raised her hands then smirked.
"What do you have to smile about?" He asked.
"Oh, I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise," she slowly lowered her hands while he looked back at her with a puzzled expression.
"Surprise," Morgan said as he stood behind the guard and shoved a gun into his back.
The guard slowly turned around as Morgan tilted his head ordering him to go down the hall while JJ took possession of the man's weapon. They lead him back to the room where they were locked up and placed him in a seat next to two other guards who were previously captured.
The door was pushed open as Rossi and Prentiss brought in another man and strapped him up as well. "Pretty soon we are going to run out of seats for these guys," Rossi remarked.
"I'm sure we'll figure something out," Prentiss looked up to the extra chains and cuffs that were hung on the wall.
"I just hope that Reid will be able to get to Alex in time," Rossi told his partner as they shut the door.
Reid, Hotch, and Duncan headed back towards the bunker. Once they reached the bricked hallway they slowed their approach. Duncan went in first, but the room where he last saw Alex was empty.
Hotch came in afterwards. "Where did she go?" He looked down to see the drips of blood from where he was held in her arms not too long ago.
Reid grabbed ahold of Duncan's arm. "Where would he have taken her?"
"I don't know. This is where he said that he wanted her," he responded in confusion.
Reid looked around the room. "Why is this place even called a bunker? There's nothing secure about it."
"I don't know. I always thought it was because it was in the basement, I felt like it was some sort of play on words or something," Duncan surmised.
Reid moved towards the wall then read all the titles on the bookcase looking for a clue, unknowing that Alex was on the other side.
