Alex looked up towards the upper deck of the boat to see Sloane speeding out of the lagoon and didn't hear her jump on board due to the noise from the motor. She rushed to the metal ladder and quickly climbed up.
She grabbed him by the shoulder forcing him to turn towards her. Sloane's eyes widened after believing he got away. Alex socked him across the face. He grabbed onto his chin then felt the blood coming from his lip. He rushed her and the two fell over the railing onto the boat deck. With no driver at the helm, boat stalled in open water.
Alex pushed herself up as she looked at the floorboards in front of her. She turned around just as Sloane slammed a deck chair on top of her. She tried to cover her head the best she could as the chair smashed into pieces. She noticed the broken leg and picked it up.
Alex jumped onto her feet and swung the piece of wood like a bat and it broke as it smashed across his face. She was in shock as he just stood there. "Is there a metal plate in your head or something?"
Sloane lunged towards her hitting and blocking, they danced around the boat exchanging blows while Reid watched Karl approaching him with the iron bar in his hands.
Reid looked from the right to the left and realized that the only place to go was the water. He decided to deal with the other alternative. He stood on his toes while Karl charged towards him. Reid ducked then moved back when Karl swung again.
Karl turned to swipe Reid off his feet, but he jumped over the bar then pushed Karl down onto the dock. Reid kicked him in the face twice until Karl grabbed his leg and dropped him onto the rickety old boards. Reid looked back towards the secret door that led him out after Alex and watched as it slowly closed.
Hotch and Duncan were able to get the two girls cleared from the door before that one closed as well. The women were obviously shaken and apprehensive to trust additional strangers, especially men, but decided to put their faith in them.
Hotch was worried about losing touch with Reid and was determined to go out after him but he knew that the scared, kidnapped girls were his first priority at that point. Duncan was able to calm them down and seated them onto the sofa by the bay window.
"We need to figure out our next move," Duncan announced.
"Regrouping with my team is essential right now," Hotch advised.
"I agree," Duncan looked to Hotch.
While the men worked to formulate a plan, just over their shoulders, visible through the window, Reid continued to fight with Karl. Reid was on his back while Karl stood over him and thrusted down with the bar forcing Reid to roll to one side, the same happened which made him roll back to the other side.
Karl was hoping for a third times a charm scenario, but that time, Reid took hold of the bar and threw Karl over him and he landed on his back. Just as Reid got onto his feet, Karl stood close by with an antagonizing grin.
Reid leaned over with his hands on his knees and panted for a moment. "You know, you are literally twice the size of me; I would think you would take it easy."
"Oh, I have a feeling you can take care of yourself," Karl smirked.
Duncan took the lead as Hotch held up the rear with the two frightened girls between them. They cautiously walked through the house in search of the rest of the team. Duncan turned the corner heading back towards the room where the goons were being held when suddenly a he was looking down the barrel of a gun.
"Oh, Aaron," Rossi exclaimed as he holstered his handgun. "I was starting to worry." He looked at their small group. "Where's Reid?"
"He chased after Alex, who we presume was chasing after Sloane. We need to go back out after him," Hotch explained.
JJ approached from down the hall and instantly gravitated towards the girls. "I will take them back where it's safe." Her face turned to concern. "Where's Spence?"
"We're going out after him," Hotch stared at JJ then placed his hand on Duncan's shoulder as the two nodded to each other. "We will bring him back."
Hotch and Duncan rushed back towards the bunker, hoping to find access to Reid and Alex.
Karl chuckled as he stood in front of Reid who had nowhere to go but into the water. He clutched the iron bar and slammed it into his other hand as he taunted Reid. Karl slowly stepped towards him forcing Reid to back up onto the dock as if he were being pushed off the plank of a pirate ship.
Karl held the bar with both hands, one at each end, and used it to push Reid backwards, step-by-step. Reid turned his head to see that he only had a few more paces before he fell into the lagoon.
Reid slid his hand between Karl's arms as they held onto the bar then twisted upward providing leverage and the bar was forced out of Karl's grasp. With the weapon in Reid's hands, he began swatting back towards Karl moving back towards the estate.
Karl held his hands up in front of his chest with a cocky grin across his face as he slowly stepped backwards. "I'm warning you, kid. You're no match for me," Karl bragged.
"That's absolutely correct. Considering our considerable differences in weight, muscle mass, and sheer brute strength, I am no match for you," Reid agreed with an inferior tone.
Karl stopped in his tracks confident in his superiority over his scrawny opponent and he was ready to take full advantage of the situation.
"But there is another factor," Reid stated.
"Oh, what's that?" Karl asked as he raised his eyebrow with a smug expression.
"I'm more than what I appear," Reid grinned.
