Chapter 8: Class Picking and Teacher Meetings Part 1 of 3 (Setting up the Game)
A/N: Alright, time for another chapter, I will admit I will try to have a chapter out every month when I can, or every few weeks when possible, since work sometimes drains me of a lot of energy when trying to do stuff like this. But now its time to meet teachers and see what classes people will be taking throughout the year. Its gonna be a 3 parter as I intend to introduce a new character who has ties with a new group who is gonna be huge in this story, but I figure we start off with the basics first.

Slifer Red Dorm Cafeteria (7:30 AM)
The Slifer Red students were now all up and about in the cafeteria, waiting to be served some breakfast with Marcus Farburn overseeing the group solely as Blair had to go take care of something this morning. Apparently Marcus was recently told that he has to tell the students were gonna have to head to the Academy itself to meet the teachers in person and select their elective classes that they were gonna have to take throughout the year, and was seen the schedule of how school life is gonna go, with the students having to do Dueling Theory and Practice on Monday and History that day, Math and Reading on Wednesday, and Friday is Science and Duel Theory but Practice on that again, with the schedules at times mixing up of when they take their classes so they never know when there is gonna be a quiz or a test, and with the classes very lengthy at 3 hours, there is gonna be a lot of learning and practicing on duels. A minute is surely not gonna be wasted. To Marcus though, he wonders if perhaps they should be learning how to duel and such given the fact that they are the worst of the worst and they are trying to save their dorm from demolition at the end of the year, and that the other classes, especially the elective classes are a total waste of time to him, especially since he looked at some of the selections beforehand from what he had to read before he came onto the job.
However, in spite of that, currently the group of Sonia, Bentley, and Marco are all sitting next to each other, eating some lackluster breakfast that they were given, which is just a bowl of cereal (Fruit Loops if you want to be more exact) with the sides of sausage and eggs, barely enough for their stomachs. "Man I hope this year doesn't suck, as we are already on a bad note at the beginning." Bentley complained just as he was eating his lackluster breakfast. He is the most timid and a nervous wreck among the group, even swinging his Fruit Loops around on his barely milked bowl that they were provided despondently.
"Ah don't worry, it will get better, besides, there is nowhere to go but up from here, and perhaps trying to get out of this place." Complained by another student.
"Thanks for the compliment!" Bentley added depressively.
"Man, it seems like everyone here is depressed around here, but no matter, just a lot of people I can pick on later for sucking, since I am perhaps the best duelist among this bunch of losers!" Marco said a bit depressively but then started to get happy when he realizes that with his deck and such, he could perhaps make his time as a bully or strong guy around Slifer Red be seen by everyone to make himself feel better. Sonia is now trying to keep herself calm about all of this, and just accept the punches and roll with it, though that is easier said than done, but at least she isn't in tears.
"Well, it can't be all that bad. I mean we just got to work our way up the food chain here, I mean with his statement earlier, the fact that if we move up the dorm rank, than this place doesn't become our problem anymore, so perhaps that is some compensation for all of this bad stuff, is the hope of something better." Sonia admitted, but at the same time she does want to keep in the mind the goal of saving the Slifer Red Dorm.
"Don't we all want something better! Don't we!" shouted by another fella.
"ARLIGHT EVERYONE, SHUT THE HELL UP, I GOT SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO TELL YOU!" Marcus then shouted to everyone just as every silenced themselves down and turn their attention to Marcus Farburn among like that of a drill instructor would see his soldiers do. For those that are nervous that they have done something wrong and such, some are already pissing their pants or just nervously drowning in sweat. Marcus would take a moment to walk around and look at the entire group of Slifers that he is loving to hate, and is trying to find something good to say about all of the things they have to do. "Alright, now apparently what I have been told, is that today you are to head to the Academy, and select your elective classes and meet your teachers who will teach you all the things you need to know throughout the year that we are stuck on this rotten island, but let me give you some advice. Most of the shit they have here isn't gonna truly help you down the road, and most likely we will be all forgetting it when our time on the island is completely over. The real purpose is to learn how to duel here, I mean that is why the island is made, for that very damn reason, but apparently they still have to teach your these things, and then they are the elective classes which in my opinion is a complete fucking waste as many of these serve no real purposes, so my advice for y'all is to treat those class as second necessary to actually Dueling and the main course subjects, as they aren't gonna help us in any way." Marcus then finished his statement just as he lets the students be about on the stuff, but not before asking this. "Any questions you want to ask now, other than that, forever hold your fucking pieces."
"Well yeah, what do you advice that we take for secondary classes?" one nervous Slifer asked. "If you known about these classes?"
Marcus couldn't help but be amused by this statement and walks straight up to him, with the other students a bit intimidated by Marcus's sudden appearance and snarl that he was giving him and the group, but this actually amused him a little bit, so much so he knew the right answer to give. "Well obvious your course subjects, but if I had to suggestion electives, perhaps anything that involves fighting, violence, and all that good stuff. It's a useful skill to have, being able to fight back and perhaps break someone's jaw when you absolutely must so you ain't looking like a pissing pussy."
"Well what about cheerleading?" a female Slifer then asked.
"Well let me be honest, this might be the only place you might be able to do it once before you all either become fat or impregnated by those horny boys that might care only about the skirts you flip off during those games, and such. Not very useful, unless you are making yourself look like a slut in front of many people in the entire school, and if you are unlucky enough for anyone to be recording, perhaps the entire world as the internet pretty much is an eternal record book."
Many of the female Slifer Red students, including a shocked Sonia, were all mortified and disgusted with what Marcus have just said about the females on the matter of cheerleading, but of course they didn't wanted to speak about it. The female Slifer who asked about cheerleading, was just upset, and walked away from the cafeteria. She was also done as well with her meal at the time, but she was pissed.
All of the Slifers could only look at Marcus with pure shock, and Bentley was now gulping like crazy. Marcus turned to see everyone's reaction of him, and smirks. "Well, that's honesty for y'all, duel well, don't suck, and get your classes picked very quickly, as I want to see as many people duel here today so I can start doing some research on how we are gonna save this fucking dorm." After Marcus was completely done with his statement, he then left the room and headed back to his office. The Slifers then continued on with their breakfast, with Sonia still in shock, but at least she isn't too mad at Marcus, as he made it clear he is a dick to a lot of people, but perhaps maybe he has a point on all of this.
After everyone was done with their breakfasts, Sonia then went up to Marcus Farburn's office, which was some sort of typical office, with a beer right to his side just as he was drinking it. Sonia knocked on the door, waiting for a response. Eventually she would get her response, and Marcus walked up and answered. "Oh, you again?"
"Yes, well you sure know how to make a lot of enemies out there, but can I give you one piece of advice, can you try not being so mean and rude to everyone?" Sonia tried to suggest, only for Marcus to kinda laugh at this.
"Me, try to be nice, well I have to be honest with a lot of folks here, the world is a cruel place, and we all got to fight hard to get out of this shit hole, but hey I get what you meant."
"Well telling everyone and me that out there, well, not a great way to start off the festivities."
"Well, you eventually learn…" he said just as he sees Bentley coming right up to see him also, and he looks annoyed at him. "The fuck you what?" Marcus grunted, scolding at Bentley in an annoying tone.
"Well some of the guys were picking on me earlier, and especially some blues, and I was curious to know what you think of Dorian, as he seemed very mean, plus I was wondering any classes you recommend." Bentley then sheepishly asked nervously, and this makes Marcus chuckles on the sight.
"Well let me give you some advice on classes, perhaps something that can get your nervous brain out of your own ass and really start showing those fuckers who you really are, I mean I am hoping sometime today to see you duel, to see what I got to work with here on how we save this fucking dorm, but also remember this… that god is a cruel dick to a lot of people, as he has it on for mass murder of certain people by other people and giving people like us cancer and other diseases, and its been going on since the creation of the clusterfuck known as humanity. Total dick move from him I will say. I would hope they have some sort of fighting class, so perhaps you can at least at first be a punching bag for other people and start being more of an actual fighter down the road." Marcus then smiled just as he gave his statement and suggestion for Bentley, which again has him shocked.
At the same time of the statement, Marco then came up to the dorm office, and saw Marcus, and he reacted with a question as well, but he seems excited unlike Bentley, but he does see him and commented. "Well I bet I can shape him into a fighter in no time, besides, perhaps he could help me with some of my homework when needed, but I wanted to know what do you think about football?"
"Big fan of the sport, guys hitting each other and giving each other concussions all for the sake of entertainment, painful but fun. Also what a real man show know in life, get down in dirty, like I do with toilets, though hell not here." Marcus then commented to Marco, who smiled.
"Yeah, planning on taking wrestling classes, perhaps I can train myself in some combat."
"You do you my friend!" Marcus replied just as Marco walks out, and then turns his attention to Bentley and Sonia. "The fact of the matter is, we gonna have to toughen up if we want to save our dorm, and get through this school year, and playing it soft isn't gonna be good enough, so as stated, I need, and I hope everyone gets the message, we are gonna do duel testing later today, so we can see what we are working it."
"Well okay then, will catch you later." Sonia said just as she heads out of the room to go pick her classes, and Bentley just stands for a few moments before Marcus then annoyingly grunts. "What the hell are you doing here standing, get class picked, something that makes you into a man."
With that, Bentley then scattered out the room, and shut the door quickly behind him like the cowardly dog from a certain cartoon. After he left, Marcus then finished his beer can and then shoots it with his hand into the trash can, knocking it out of the park. "He shoots, he scores." Marcus smirked.

Ra Yellow Dorm (roughly the same time)
In Molly's and Lolo's room, we see both Molly and Lolo already up and about, getting started and ready for the day. They are gonna be picking some classes soon, and since they are both together as Molly took the responsibly of keeping an eye on the girl, they both agreed that they will take the same classes together no matter what, and make sure they are close to one another so they are always on a lookout for anyone that might try to harm them, especially Molly to Lolo. It was a blessing that Hassleberry and Matoza allowed this, as it would be very difficult if they had to kick her out or something on her first day without any room. It was very bad down in the Slifer Red dorm because of all the issues down there, and well Obelisk… well lets just say Matoza and Hassleberry doesn't trust a damn thing for Dorian.
"So, any thought on what classes you are thinking about taking?" Lolo asked her new friend Molly as she was reading from the brochure that they got when they went to the Ra Yellow dorm about what classes that they can choose to take.
"Well, was thinking about taking some sort of class involving mechanic work, but I don't know how you would feel about it, as it is a lot of real work, and dangerous as well, and that would make me worried about you if you were dangerous equipment." Molly smiled just as she was putting on her jacket, from the sound of her, she wanted to take a mechanic class, but would worry for Lolo if she was around.
"Well, was thinking about art class, as I like to draw stuff a lot, but I wonder what they would be doing with all these digital art books and what not that they are giving us, I prefer the good old paper, paint, and crayons." Lolo smiled just as she is getting ready herself.
"Well, who knows, I might want to take that myself, but I ain't really a type of artist at all." Molly added just as she and Lolo walks out the door. The two would then begin to make their way to the Academy, where they are gonna meet up with some of their pals to start the day. They of course would go eat their breakfasts in the dining room before heading out for the Academy through the forest. It was at least a bit of a walk to the school, but at least for both of them, it wasn't too bad at all. As they were heading their way to the Academy, they come across a couple of Slifers who were getting picked on by Obelisks, and Molly just looks at them with utter disdain, and also Lolo looks at this with sadness.
The current Slifers in questions were a bunch of jocks the ages of Molly who are standing up to some Obelisks who are slightly older, but also were just mocking the Slifers for their lack of grades and talent to be on the island. The Slifers though weren't gonna have it at all and were also upset and ready for a fight also.
"You Slifers don't deserve to be on this island, and after this school year, y'all are gonna be gone forever, than its Ra Yellow that is gonna be next!" one of the Obelisk boys mocked just as they were acting all snobbish at them.
"Oh yeah, who said that, well we got to the island right here as we speak, so say that to us again, I dare you!" A Slifer threatened as he got ready for a fight.
"Well YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE HERE, SO WHY NOT YOU GO PACK YOUR BAGS AND GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE, THIS IS OUR TURF, AND YOU ARE TRESSPASSING ON IT!"
"Oh the hell you think we are gonna leave, well we ain't!" The Slifer got ready to throw the first punch before suddenly a man was coming up to intervene on the matter. It was one of the staff members, more specifically, Dorian Silverman himself. He just looks so amused to see some Obelisks and Slifers to him… getting along with one another, but he noticed that some people were getting a little out of hand on the thing.
Dorian just comes up very casually to the gang and smiles at the Obelisk. "Oh, what do we have here, a bunch of high profile ranks having a little tussle at the appetizer before the main course." Dorian smiled just as he refers the Slifers as the appetizer. He then turned his attention to the Slifers and react. "Well you guys should really know to respect the rank of the dorms here on the island, I mean they are here for good reasons, skill, power, and of course… doing whatever it takes to get there. You guys, well you only got in by luck, and your luck will be surely out of here by this year's end unless you work hard to get out of it, but from the look of you 3, I think a week's detention cleaning toilets to the most perfect of details would suffice and teach y'all a lesson." Dorian said so calmly to the Slifers, who are in shock and gasped of what he just told them, they are gonna have a week's detention cleaning toilets, just for opposing the Obelisk on why they deserve to be on this island.
"That such bullshit! We didn't do anything wrong at all, they are the ones who started it!" The Slifer complained, which then earns another backhanded remark by Dorian, again in a smile.
"Wanna makes that 2 weeks, along with no chance of promotion for the first semester?" Dorian then threatened. "Which means hellish conditions for the whole half of the year?"
The Slifer then backed off along with his friends just as the Obelisks then mocked them once more. "That's right, leave our sights!" they mocked, and Dorian only smiled just as he continues to walk by, but not before commenting. "They should know their places, now go on, time to pick classes."
"We already did." They told him.
"Oh good, that's nice to hear, early to rise, early to pick on some more people." Dorian added.
The Obelisk then walk out of the area, and as the Slifers walked towards the building, they come by Molly and Lolo, and shouted. "That man is a demon! Watch your backs here!" The Slifer warned, and Molly then turned to see Dorian nearby, and Lolo also.
As the comment was made, Dorian then turned his attention to both Molly and Lolo, who the latter is a bit scared of, but not too much, but is uneasy about him. Molly then shielded her just as Dorian came up and smiled at them. "Hey there, sorry about what you had to see, some Slifers were picking on some Obelisk, and I had to put them in their place. Disregard what you saw, what brings you both here, class picking?" he asked.
"Well yeah, but, don't you think that's a bit excessive, what you just did right here?" Molly asked.
"No, not really, bullying is a hard rule break, and a teacher had to do something about it. Here in this school, and please do avoid this, the punishments here are very very, unpleasant at times, so following the rules is very important, like being on time, no talking in class, no cheating, all that good stuff, but there is high standards that we hold on this famous island, and I am the knight in shining armor who is upholding those standards. I actually teach english/reading for first year students this year, and an AP class for higher ranks."
"Oh, so you are the English teacher this year?" Lolo asked.
"Yes I am little one, and you must be Lolo, Thomas and the Ra Yellows were really talking about you being the youngest student to enroll in Duel Academy. A prodigy at your young age, perfect grades in everything. I think you will be a very bright student here on this island, who knows, maybe you might be an Obelisk one day, with the right training and skills." He smiled just as he looks at her, trying to make her feel welcome, but Lolo knew what happened the other day, when she got bullied by the Obelisk blue girls.
"Well those Obelisk girls were mean to me yesterday, I don''t know if I would want to become."
"One of them, well I know, and I am sorry about what happened yesterday, I really should be doing better to getting them in a line, but let me tell you something, with the right talents and training, they will respect you. Same goes for your friend Molly, you would be respected, really respected if you work hard and prove to us why you deserve to be on this island. Those Slifers, they don't deserve to be here, Ras, you got work to get here, but Obelisk is where you want to be. Everyone will respect you when you are there. Leave them behind, they are just gonna hold you back. Now I must be going, but I do look forward to seeing you in my class soon." He smiled just as he walks off once more. Lolo was a bit scared, and Molly was just gritting her teeth at what she just saw and heard. They waited till he left the room and Molly calmed down.
"Molly, are you okay?" Lolo asked. Molly then calmed down and reacted to her. "Yes, I am. Let's just get going, but lets be careful around some of those people, we don't know who to trust, but I know some folks."
Molly and Lolo would continue onto the school building to go pick their classes. Who knows what this year is gonna bring. If Lolo wanted to take art class, then perhaps Molly will join her to keep her company.

Obelisk Blue Dorm, Female Section
"Yeah, well everything is going okay down here. Of course many of them still acting snobbish, and you can blame Dorian on that side of the thing." Alexis said on her phone as she is with Blair, who she invited to the Obelisk Blue dorm in the headmistress room discussing the matter with all of the students. She knew that back in her day that all the students shared the elitist view, but Alexis and some of her folks were rare exceptions of the rule, as she remembered that Jaden handed her a defeat, because he truly outdueled her, but she wasn't bad herself. You earn respect from the talent of your dueling, and Jaden definitely had it, compared to many other people in the school, Obelisks included.
As soon as Alexis got off the phone, Alexis then turned her attention to Blair, and then reacted with. "Thanks for coming here on short notice."
"Yeah, no problem, what's up?" Blair asked.
"Well I was talking to a friend of mine, and she said that she is gonna be coming to the school in the coming days, as Thomas has elected to have her be co-chairman and vice chancellor of the school, and also be the new Duel Academy headmistress role of the Obelisk Blue dorm, as I am taking a bit of a personal leave from here. Need to take care of some matters outside of the school, will probably be gone for several weeks."
"Well, understandable, because Dorian has truly made this whole place completely unbearable to be here. Especially after the last few years have gone wayside for us. At least you are one of the good ones to not look down at people like them." Blair said, feeling sad for what's going on with the Slifer student body, as they are being mercilessly beaten down by both Obelisks and Ras, though the former is a ton worse.
"Yes, and I truly wish there is some way we can help them, at times I kinda view Jaden would know what to do, but I haven't heard back from him in years." Alexis said, remembering the times that Jaden was the great kid that he is, but he is on his own path in life, a path that many don't know. "Anyone better than what y'all got."
"Yeah, Marcus Farburn, noticed last night he left a bunch of beer cans in the trash, and it was overflowing and smelling awful." Blair also shrugged in annoyance of the matter with Marcus being a heavy drinker on the job. "Well but he is what he got, plus I did told him to talk to Sonia at least."
"Yeah, what happened with her deck was nothing short of shocking, and I wanted to talk to Ledla about how wrong that was, but Dorian just intervened before I had the chance to deal with it. Even both Hassleberry and Matoza came into the room after receiving the call from Alexis, and they told were upset about something.
Matoza and Hassleberry came up to Alexis and Blair, and heard their side of the story. "So Lexy is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons, hey, I don't blame y'all, because with Dorian here doing everything to make life miserable here, sometimes we all have to walk away from an issue to find the answer."
"A great advice, sometimes one needs to walk away from a problem to find the solution to it, sometimes I wish I can do that myself, but some of these people here are like family to me, and I do need to be here for them, but I do wish you well." Matoza said with a warm smile, as she wants to be supportive of Alexis for her leave on Duel Academy, though she does have the intention of returning to the school later.
"Thanks, I just hope y'all will be okay while I am gone, the good thing is, this place is about to get a Obelisk Blue headmistress that is gonna change things around here." Alexis then told them with a smile, as she knows a friend that is gonna take over while she is gone.
"Who?" Hassleberry asked.
"Blair, I think you once told me in your second year, that we had the female Slifer Red dorms and Ra Yellow made after we graduated, and you were in your first year, well surprisingly in the second, someone came in and made huge changes to Obelisk Blue, and removed a ton of people."
"Oh I get it, her!" Blair reacted.
"Well, not quite, but someone related and a close friend to her who agrees with her methods, sometimes I kinda wonder with no offense to Jasmine and Mindy on why some people are put in Blue automatically, when they can't fight well?, well that type of person." Alexis reacted.
"Oh, I recall, her daughter was a close friend of mine in my second year, and she remembers what happened. The great Obelisk Purge!" Blair smiled, and she remembered that faithful week. The Obelisk Purge happened after the year that Alexis graduated alongside her friend, where a new headmistress took over Fonda's job and made colossal changes, by having everyone take a test to determine if they were truly worthy of the Obelisk Blue rank, with those failing being demoted. It was a situation of house being cleaned. "She was in Ra Yellow at the time, and I was getting there, but news headlines of Slifer and Ra girls made everyone panic."
Unknown to them, somewhere in another room, the whole thing was being watched on camera and recorded. The camera pulls out to reveal it was from a computer room, and inside the computer room was a faculty member, who had a mustache and nice brown hair, and in his mid 40s.
"Interesting, so Alexis is taking a leave from the job for awhile and a new headmistress is coming to the girls' dorm. Well you know what goes on here in Dorian's academy, he knows everything that goes on." The man said just as he got onto the phone and contacted Dorian about this development, and after a few moments, he gets the message. "Just kept some eye on some people discussing one's absence, and a new headmistress taking over the Obelisk girl's dorm, but hey, one less problem to deal with."
Dorian will love to hear this. Alexis is now out of the picture briefly, so that could make his job much more easier to deal with, but little does he know, is that its about to be the opposite of that.

Inside the School Main Hall
The inside of the main school hall is nothing short of incredible. The inside was like that of a mall, filled with plenty of attractions and shops for students to visit to recover on cards, get hair cuts, play some games in the arcades, a small movie theater for some of the new releases, and so forth. Of course much of this is unusable for the Slifer Red students thanks to restrictions placed on them, giving them insentive to try to get promoted to the higher dorms, with more privileges being offered at higher ranks like first access to card packs for Obelisk, and much more. Still, it is a huge sight to behold. Right now, Sonia, Bentley, Marco, and Kari were all in the dorm area, just admiring the entire sights of everything that the school has to offer, though it is bittersweet that the Slifers won't get to do it unless they get promoted.
"Wow, this is incredible. No wonder why we are gonna be here for the next 3 years, might as well try to make it much of a normal life for us as possible." Marco yelled, as he was wowed of what he saw. Arcades, a small movie theater with IMAX and Dolby Cinemas, haircut places, some indoor restaurants, you name it. "Man I wish we were up in Ra and Obelisk right now, because what we are getting is the short end of the stick." He complained.
"Well, they told us Obelisks a few nights back that we can bring people from other ranks with us into these events as long as we fit the bill for them, luckily for me… being one of those people, I am nice to help, though don't expect this all the time Marco. You gotta earn your keep here." Kari said nicely, but also sternly as they head to an indoor restaurant, which is some form of nice fancy stuff. As they go to sit on the table, they see Molly coming through the door herself, alongside her small friend.
Sonia, Bentley, Marco, and Kari were then starring at Molly as if she was keeping a secret, but in reality, it was just Lolo staying right behind Molly, as she wanted to be close by and not be spotted by anyone that is in Obelisk Blue in fear of bullying. "Hey Molly, uh, who is that person with you?"
"Uh…" Molly said by surprised, and then saw and warmly smiled at Lolo. "Don't worry, its gonna be alright, I know these folks."
"Oh sorry, just had a bit of a panic attack when I saw an Obelisk with those Reds." Lolo smiled just as she makes herself known to the group. "Hi there, my name is Loloan Sendena, but everyone calls me Lolo for short." Lolo said a bit nervously, but still smiling as well. Marco and Bentley were already starting to get suspicious of a kid her age being in this type of school. Kari and Sonia were a bit more warm to the idea, but still wondering themselves. Lolo knew this reaction would be expected, but for now she tries to take it to the strides and smiles. "Well I hope we can all become friends."
"Well its very nice to meet you, but aren't you a bit young to be here, I mean plenty of us are in our teen years, besides… I may be worried that your parents…"
"That isn't necessary, one, she's got me, and two, she is actually a child prodigy." Molly smiled just as Lolo warmed up and smile too with a nod. "That is true." She added.
"Really, well its nice to meet you, my name is Sonia, Sonia Stryker." Sonia said, as she greets Lolo.
"And you can call me Kari Kayala, or Kari for short." Kari smiled just as she rubs Lolo's head. "And don't worry, I am not like those other Obelisks."
"And I am Bentley, Bentely Carson, don't mind me… I am just here hanging out with my friends." Bentley also added, just as he was fiddling with some cards in his hand, a random card that isn't his deck at all.
"And this cool boy and bad boy here is Marco Dencan, and I am basically the protector and big man of this ragtag group." He smirked with a smile just as he was rubbing his fist together, as if he was gonna be some random punk up, and this kinda makes Lolo amused as well.
"Well nice to meet y'all." Lolo smiled just as she sits on Molly's side as they head to a huge roundtable. The waiter was coming in to get food orders for everyone. Kari, Sonia, and Lolo decided to go simple with some salads and for the latter some Mac-Cheese. Molly and Marco gone for the big one and goes for some T-Bone steaks, and Bentley… well, he only wanted a cheeseburger with fries. As they were ordering their food, with Kari being nice enough to provide the service for them as she is an Obelisk Blue, a teacher was coming by to see the students.
The teacher was also none other than Mollow Kashad himself, who came with a bit of a smile just as he goes to check in on the students to make sure everything is going okay. "So, y'all getting used to the Academy so far?" Mollow then asked with a warm smile almost like that of a grandfather. "I know its just the beginning of the year, but some are already taking a use to the new environment that the founding fathers of this place greatly built."
"Well yeah, it looks very nice and such." Sonia then smiled just as Mollow then smiled again, though he does feel sad about hearing the deck was destroyed by an Obelisk Blue.
"Now I am sorry to hear about your deck, I mean news travels fast around here, and to tell you Sonia… I would for sure would have done something about it if I knew something like this could happened, but I am happy that the Chancellor had helped you formed a new deck." Mollow then said, feeling sympathy for Sonia and to what happened to the Elemental Dragon deck.
"I know, it will take me some time to adjust to it, I mean its nowhere near my mom's deck but… I guess I gotta start somewhere and go up from there." Sonia added.
"And you will with a good mentor, because I am the first year Dueling Theory and Practice teacher." Mollow then told the group just as he was admitting that he is gonna be teaching them for their first year. "Now you know you better also pick some classes soon, unless you want them to just randomize what you get."
"Oh don't worry, we intend to pick those classes by today." Bentley added as well. "Just trying to figure out which ones will be good for us. We know we have to take math, science, reading, history and Dueling Theory, with the last being twice."
"Yeah, so plenty of time with me here, and trust me, and I hope many of y'all will listen well to what I have to say, because wisdom is something that everyone needs to learn in life before it is over. Many kids today would just wing it, but we are here to tell you our experiences, and how we can all learn from it."
"Well its just playing a card game, and of course other subjects." Marco said, a bit uninterested in the subject matter, as he only had the goal of getting to the NFL in his head. "But hey if it gets me a free shot at that for any college of my choice, well I am good."
"Oh the ignorance of kids with that type of focus, you know its good to know a lot of these subjects and dueling, as physical skills will only get you so far, you got to have the smarts to back it up, and I will admit, I am not into NFL, more into stuff like golf, and chess." Mollow then said with a sly in his face, catching him off guard. "I trust you will study well, if you want to make that happen."
"Yes sir." Marco then gasped, agreeing with his statement.
Mollow then turned his attention to Lolo, and knew right away that he is gonna have a very bright student on his hands. "And you Lolo, well… the youngest to attend this school, and perhaps the highest results among the peers in the written exam, with some good dueling here and there, but with your talents, I think you can go on the way, I see that you are getting well with the people around here."
"Well yeah, but also, a lot of people here are mean around as well, those Obelisks." Lolo said with a bit of sadness in her voice. "I remember just yesterday, they attacked me, but luckily Molly show up and took care of them, and also… I am her roommate as well."
"Its true, I am actually watching her." Molly added as well.
"Well good for that. I gotta say, ever since Dorian came to this school years back, everything has been going downhill for a lot of people. The Obelisks were incredibly disrespectful to other people including staff, and even the Ra Yellows are starting to get in on it as well towards the Reds. To me, one of my favorite type of students was the Reds, mainly because they have the most room to grow, the most potential of the group. Sometimes I just wish for people to see that."
"Don't we all." Kari added as well. "I too am horrified to see what goes on around here, I mean the way Dorian treated the Slifer Reds on the boat ride, I was nothing short of upset."
"Well I gotta get going, I look forward to seeing you in class tomorrow, make sure you are on time, and be well rested. We got a lot of learning to do." Mollow smiled just as he lets the group carry on with their lunch.

Back in the Obelisk Blue Headmaster's Room
"So Alexis is taking a leave of absence, and that someone else is coming to take place for her while she is gone, nice to tell me that Alex." Dorian smiled just as he was drinking a nice glass of champagne that was provided by him by his personal waiter. His Obelisk Blue headmaster room is a very delicate type of art, offered of the highest quality in British history and culture. A grand desk for that of a king, alongside a shelf of the finest novels. Two knight suits of armor by the door, the UK flag on top of the room hanging above, and plenty of other high royalty things you can imagined in the room. Dorian surely likes to show off how superior that he is to a lot of people, and also the Obelisks as well.
Alex Matader (author's note here, from chapter 1) himself was sitting on a chair discussing matters with him. Alex was in the computer room keeping tabs of what goes on in Obelisk Blue. Alex had cameras installed nearly every part of the building in some form, so he could be watching at any time what could be going on. Good thing he is a technician and such. He also could use it for his own "fun" from time to time, though he knows not to be too close or he be in trouble. "Yeah, apparently she is gonna try to get some help, or just need to be away for some time. Good, we could get someone who could get the Obelisk girl's dorm into our own standards."
"True. It such a great time to be in Obelisk, and riding hi after so many wins in the Duel Academy Cup, as the weak pathetic fool known as Thomas Getterson has been trying so hard to restore order to this school, that he doesn't know how to even run it! It makes me almost sorry for the poor man at his age." Dorian said just as he takes a slip. From the sound of him, he is looking forward to seeing the old man go after so long, so he can take the reigns. "All I need is to win the cup this year, and I become Chancellor full time, get rid of Slifer Red and empty the trash out of this school, and then focus on the rest." He said just as he got up walked around the room for a moment, showing off his collection of cups on the wall. "You know what I dream of the most… restoring Duel Academy to what it once was many years back. The highest institution in the world, comparable to Harvard. I could even imagine turning Duel Academy into the next Harvard, or making it the Harvard of the Dueling World. Everyone wants to get here so they can get the very best of the best, and these fools including Kaiba himself still believes everyone can get there one day. Well look at the filth that is Slifer Red, and soon Ra Yellow! They don't deserve to be here! They are just wasting taxpayers dollars on these rubbish pieces of human life they call students!"
"Well some of them are working to get into Obelisk Blue still." Alex then added, just as he notices some of the Ra Yellows are working their way up to Obelisk Blue soon once the year starts. "But to us, if you want to be here, you need to be the very best, or get out! I am surprised that many of these people managed to barely get here."
"Yes, and that is something I must stop, because this school has fallen on the standards for too long, and ever since I came here, I brought the Obelisk grades, rank, and its prestigious standing to its highest in years, and I tend to bring that to the Academy! Also, Americans are not my style for some of the places here, as they are always so low quality, just like China. Want to know why the British, or you could even say… the European are so sophisticated, because we made much of these before, and they are just pale imitations of the original." Dorian added just as he noticed the cup was missing, and that is where its gonna be when the year ends.
"Well we got plenty of people that has to go, and with the Slifers getting a headmaster like Marcus, that will be easy to do."
"Yes, it will be!" Dorian said, just as he then turns the portable screen that comes down, and it was big too. After it reaches close enough, it then turns on, revealing some unknown board members from afar, who are now all looking at Dorian. "Well welcome ladies and gentleman, you will be please to know that we are one cup away from taking control of Duel Academy, just one more year and that will be done."
"Good work Dorian Silvermen, I knew we can trust your judgment. I am pleased to here of your progress from our men, but I have come to warn you… that you are about to have some significant problems heading your way." The board member on the screen told him.
"What problem could we be saying?"
"Apparently one of our academies have fallen on hard times thanks to someone, and I got intel that the person is gonna be coming home, I suggest you make sure you are prepared."
"Oh we will be, and besides, who could challenge the might of the Obelisks?" Dorian then flattery smiled, and this somewhat makes the board members uneasy.
"I know you want to shrug this off, but we are serious, this person could ruin everything if they get to the island, so I suggest you take it seriously." The female on screen told Dorian.
"And that I will." Dorian said just as he turns off the screen.
"Who are they referring to?" Alex asked.
"No one of to be concern of. They will fall like the rest."

Outside of the indoor restaurant
Sonia and her group just recently finished their foods and headed back out, now time to start finding their classes for the school year. Molly and Marco are stuffed, while everyone else feels full enough, but that isn't the big development here. "Wow, I never though school lunches are that good here." Macro replied.
"Yeah, well thanks to Kari, we got a taste of it." Bentley added. "Thanks."
"No problem, so… I guess we could start heading up and seeing about…" Kari said just before they hear a bunch of stuff falling down on the ground from up the stairs, and then the person shouted. "Oh no, why does this keep happening to me?" said by someone in their mid 30s or 40s, and sounded very laid back almost like a actor.
"Wonder what happened?" Lolo asked.
"Well lets go check it out." Sonia said.
The group would then go up the stairs to see a teacher and a ton of discs and old electronics are on the ground, and so disorganized, and the wheel on his cart completely broke off as he was trying to take the stuff to his classroom. From the look of the stuff, it was some DVD and Blu ray players, along with some game consoles, and tons of disc, and some other random stuff from the other carts. The guy was trying to pick all of it back right up when he noticed some students coming by, and he then smiled at them. "Oh, hi there guys… just nobody here, the name is Aaron Dens, Pop Culture Appreciation Teacher!" Aaron said. (side note, he looks like Paul Rudd from the Ant Man movies only without the high tech suits)
"You need any help there?" Sonia then asked as she wanted to help.
"Nope, perfectly fine! I got this, if only I could get some students to join my class, as last year I only had 2 students last year."
"Well, we was looking into classes to take, and well… I am curious to what you teach now you said something about it." Bentley then asked the guy, as they came closer, they noticed some Obelisk bullies approaching, 2 guys and 1 girl. The main leader was the girl, and she had like purple hair and looked like a complete bitch as well, with her tiny marks on her face like a star, almost tattooish in a lot of ways, along with purple eyes, a slim and hot body, and she was looking like she is amused of the chaos that she sees with Aaron.
"Oh, look at poor Aaron, the joke of the school in terms of teaching. I am surprised that no one has you fired for not getting a lot of students to come to your class." The Obelisk girl smiled in a mocking tone just as she laughs at his misery, but somehow Aaron isn't taking it seriously at all, and actually takes it like a laugh.
"Well trust me, I am still here, so I guess I impacted one student's life at the very least, and besides… who doesn't like to watch classic movies, play games, read up on some of the biggest pop-culture stuff, etc… I think it be fun!"
"Yeah, fun for those jokes back there!" the girl mocked just as they looked at the group now, with Lolo quickly hiding behind Molly for safety, and with Molly gritting her teeth. "I wonder, if you join his class, what do you think he will teach you, perhaps why disc is sucking to digital or something?"
"Or maybe how to listen to the horrible songs form the 80s and 90s with one ear blinded with maggots!" a male student then mocked.
"Hahaha, very funny! Well now I am ready to beat someone up!" Marco smiled just as he cracks his fist and prepares to get into a fight with the Obelisk Blue member.
"Uh, teacher, can you stop the fight between my friend and them?" Sonia then gasped as she noticed Macro is about to go at it with the Obelisk bully.
"Well uh…. Sorry but…. I never stopped a fight once! The only time I did that was by pausing when I was playing Mortal Kombat." Aaron then said, admitting that he doesn't know what to do in this situation. This leaves everyone dumbfounded and face palmed on the ground.
"Wow, guess the teacher is a coward, well our work here is…" the Obelisk girl said just before she starts to walk away, and just as she does. She then notices a girl right in front of her. A Ra Yellow student to be exact, with black hair tied to a bunch, and is also curvy and buxom, and also has brown eyes and fair skin. She looks very calm and collective, but looks at the Obelisk with an intensive stare, knowing she is pissed at something.
Suddenly, the Ra Yellow student then speaks. "Is there a problem here?"
"What are you talking about, we are just talking about a worthless teacher who can't break up a fight, along with some random misfit of students including and Obelisk traitor..." the girl then said annoyed before the Ra Yellow interrupted with.
"I heard all I needed to know." The Ra Yellow student then reacted. "I know what you are doing Eriko Knde, harassing these students and teachers as you think you are so better than them."
The whole group was then stunned to know that the girl just called out her name as if she knew it already, and the Ra Yellow student didn't flinch at all, and during this entire moment, the girl was literally seconds away from being attacked by the male students, as they were getting ready to punch her.
"Also, so predictable with boys defending their girlfriends with violence, typical." She smirked just as one of the Obelisk students attempts to punch her, only for her to step out of the way almost Spidey Sense style, and the Obelisk blue then hits the other student by accident, knocking him out cold. The Obelisk blue bully Eriko and her friend then were in shocked that he missed the punch and knocked him out, and then tries to go for her, and then suddenly the girl moves out of the way again as the male student charges at her. He misses, and this time he goes right off of the stairway and trips and falls down the steps for a few moments before stopping on the ground. Luckily, he wasn't too injured, but he wasn't happy about it at all. After that whole scene played out, the girl then turned her attention to Eriko again, and then she reacted. "Now, do I have your attention?" the girl said.
"Who are you?" Eriko demanded.
"I am Kaoru, Kaoru Shiba of the Shiba clan, and I am here to duel you, right now!" Kaoru declared just as she got her duel disk ready for action. She is ready to put the bully in her place.

A/N: Alright, sorry for the delay on the chapter, just been busy with work lately and all, and I will try to have more chapters out soon. Now I am splitting this up into 3 parts as I want to give the character I am introducing thanks to a fellow friend and supporter of the story D.J. Scales, and side note… the character you saw that just threatened Eriko is getting the next chapter, as I want to go deeper into her character. Bio: Kaoru Shiba comes from a long line of samurai warriors that have protected Japan and defend the weak for over 300 years ever since the Shiba line began with Retsudo Shiba of the Edo period. Kaoru has trained in the ways of martial arts and swordsmanship since age 8 and along with her siblings understands the code of Bushido friendship discipline readiness and honor. Kaoru likes to help tutor the little guys and dislikes bullies and will not hesitate to defeat said bullies in a fair contest which she has won. Kaoru also knows the value of hard work which is why she is in Ra Yellow and despises people like Dorian and would love nothing more than to see him and people like him and Lelda brought down.

One big question though, and I want to ask the fans this. Would you like to see XYZs and Synchros in the future, as I might consider toying the idea of introducing them later on down the road, though I will admit I didn't want to because I want to focus on the GX stuff, though I could just make it the early days of it for story sakes.
