You're too OLD!
By Melon1205
Kakashi was left alone with the Third Hokage. He prepared for a scolding, but Hiruzen just sighed, "I'm getting old…"
Then, he got up and motioned Kakashi to follow. They headed back to Hiruzen's office. Hiruzen sank into his chair, "ahhhhhh."
Kakashi looked at him in surprise. He would never have expected the Hokage to show weakness in front of him. "Have some tea," said Hiruzen, motioning to the now cold tea kettle.
Kakashi shook his head, "No."
"Anyways, now that you are responsible for Setsuka's training, I expect her to become an excellent shinobi and asset to the Leaf."
Kakashi nodded and the Third Hokage continued, "As you know, she has an extremely large amount of chakra for her age. But, her Flashes are also connected to the chakra points in her head."
Hiruzen pulled out a scroll, "There is only one other person in history of having these Flashes. They were called Unmei because they were rumored to be able to see the future."
He handed the scroll to Kakashi, "They wrote this. It was their technique to control their Flashes. Unmei could see both the past and the future, a handy skill. Hopefully, Setsuka can learn to do so too."
Kakashi stared at the scroll, "See the future?"
"Yes."
Hiruzen pulled out another scroll, "This scroll should not have been here, but it was."
"What is it?" asked Kakashi, curious.
"It is a scroll of Ice release ninjutsu."
Kakashi gasped silently and stared at Hiruzen. "Of course, I'm giving this to you to give to Setsuka when you think she is ready," said the Third Hokage, "But you should give it to her before she officially becomes a genin." He handed to scroll to Kakashi.
"Also, to become a genin, Setsuka still has to pass the exam., dismissed," with a wave of his hand, Hiruzen shooed Kakashi out of his office and sank back into his chair.
…
Setsuka looked out the window. Her head felt much better after the doctor had used some weird glowy hand thing on her. Now, she could see Konoha. The sun was setting and the view was beautiful. Five-year-old Setsuka was getting sleepy, but she stayed awake to wait for 'Puppy'. After all, he promised he would come to see her again today.
The faces of the four people stared at her from the mountain. Buildings glowed from the little lights in the darkness. It was beautiful. "Hello?" said a voice from the door.
Setsuka spun around and grinned. She ran over and gave 'Puppy' a hug, "Yay! Puppy's back!"
Kakashi sighed, "How about you call me Kakashi Nii-san? Huh?"
Setsuka tilted her head sideways and thought, then she grinned again and said, "Okay Kashi Nii-san."
"Ka-kashi, Kashi sounds like okashii…" said Kakashi, "My name has two ka's in it." (okashii means weird or unusual in Japanese)
"But, that's too hard!"
"Okay, fine, whatever," muttered Kakashi, "Anyways, so, Sandaime Hokage has decided to let you stay here."
"Whose Sandyman Hokage?"
"Sandaime Hokage or the Third Hokage is the big boss of the Leaf," explained Kakashi, "His face is one of the ones on the rock."
"Ohhhh," nodded Setsuka.
"So," said Kakashi, "You can stay and I am officially your guardian."
"Guardian?"
"Kinda like being your dad, I'm in charge of taking care of you and teaching you and letting you live in my house and stuff," said Kakashi.
"But…." mumbled Setsuka, "(something imperceptible)"
"What?"
"Your age…"
"Do I seem too young to be your dad?" asked Kakashi.
"No…" said Setsuka, "You look too old."
(Stab to the heart for Kakashi who pretends he's not hurt)
"I'm 19," says Kakashi.
"Yeah, but you're hair's old white, like an old guy."
"What's wrong with that?" asked Kakashi, "It's silver, not white."
"It's still weird…"
"Hmmph"
"Wait, If you're my dad, then why do I call you Kashi Nii-san?"
"Cause I'm not actually your dad, I just take care of you like a dad," answered Kakashi patiently, "and I'm more of your brother's age,"
Setsuka changed the topic, "Okay, what else?" she asked Kakashi.
"Well, for now, you need to stay here at the hospital for a while. And you can't leave yet."
"But aren't I suppose to live with you?" she asked.
"Not yet," said Kakashi, "Now go to sleep, good night." He turned and left the hospital as Setsuka lay down on the hospital bed.
