Chapter 2 The Middle of Nowhere

Percy had always been one who woke up early. When he woke up he saw what his father had meant. There lying at the end of his bed was a backpack and suitcase. When he looked inside everything he could need was in there for his stay. He was thankful his dad helped him pack because he was sure he would have forgotten a lot.

Although the suitcase was was great that wasn't what caught his eye. There sitting on his dresser he saw three small gifts, a note and something else he couldn't recognize. He walked over and read the note first. Perseus, I know what I say or even give will not fix my mistakes but I hope to try and be there for you now. Here are some things for you, think of it as gifts that I owe for missing the last 18 birthdays. I hope this helps your my son. Ps: I already talked to your uncle about your flight. I Love you, and remember who you are. ~ your father.

When Percy read the note he knew that in the very least his dad was trying. He looked at the one gift that was already out. It was a slim light weight black box. When he picked it up and looked closer he realized it was something his mom used. It was a phone. As soon as he unlocked it he saw a message. My son, you may need this to contact your mother and your moms family. I had your cousin make some adjustments it will be safe for you to use. For the first time Percy was able to use a phone, yet he saw no reason for him to have one other than to contact his mom. He could have just borrowed a phone to contact her but nevertheless was happy about the gift.

He looked at the small three boxes that were wrapped in blue wrapping paper. He picked the first one up and slowly unwrapped it Inside was a styrofoam pillow and on top lag some car keys. He knew he would have to wait to see what car his dad got him. He saw a small card, You'll need a ride for getting to school. It's about time you got to have your first card ~dad . Percy smiled and put the keys on his dresser and threw the box away.

Percy picked up the next box and this time quickly dipped the paper and then opening it. This time he saw a black leather wallet. He saw a blue fish embroidered onto it. He opened it up and saw a credit and debit card along with lots of cash. He also saw another small card that had writing on it. He took it out of one of the card holders and read it. Unfortunately in the mortal world nothing is cheap. Here are some cars and cash for you to use. They are unlimited funds. This is a gift not just from me but from our side of the family. If you need help with anything, just ask. ~dad. Percy smiled thankful his dad truly did think of everything.

When Percy looked at the last box he saw the wrapping was a bit different. It was messy and tape was everywhere. He opened the last box and saw a watch. One that reminded him of the one his brother Tyson gave him but updated. This one looked to have several improvements. In all honesty it looked more expensive than any designer brand watch he had seen. It was all black except the face which was white. There was a sea green emerald as the dial and a few small emeralds on the face which was chronograph. Percy looked st the back and there he saw some words engraved into the bottom. In Greek he saw what was engraved "The sea does not like to be restrained".

Percy gave a small smile remembering when his father first told him those words. He saw one more small card, just like old one. I fixed for you brother. I love you ~Your brother Tyson. Percy smiled and quickly put the watch back into the box with card. He looked at the clock and saw that it was 3:00 AM. He knew he had to hurry up and get read since his flight was at 5:00 AM. He quickly showers and dressed. He put on back jeans, a green shirt and a dark blue hoodie to go along with his black converse. He walked up to his dresser and put his wallet and keys in his pocket. Percy picked up the watch and put it on his left hand.

He swung his backpack over his right shoulder and grabbed his suitcase. Just as he was about to leave he managed to remember to grab his phone off his dresser and put it in his back pocket. When he walked out of his room and into the kitchen he saw his mom sitting there ready to drive him to the airport. He gave a small smile to his mom "Good morning Percy, let's get going before you miss your flight" she said.

Scenes Change

Percy arrived in Seattle Washington around 9:00 AM. After he got his bags he went to the parking ramps at the airport. He felt his phone buzz from his back pocket. He picked it up and saw a text from his dad. It was in Greek so it was easier for him to read The red ramp floor 4. Percy knew exactly where to go. When he arrived he hit unlock bottom to see where his car was. He saw some lights flash and a noise coming from down the row. There he saw a dark blue McLaren 600LT.

Percy couldn't believe what he saw. He knew his dad felt bad and that he wasn't going to give him an old car but he didn't expect this. He smiled and quickly got in. As soon as he got in he turned the engine on. He typed in his destination on the GPS and turned some music on before pulling out. He saw that it was close to a four hour drive. He was hoping to make it in three.

Three hours later

After pushing the speed limit for the entire journey Percy arrived at the outskirts of town that had the forks welcome sign. Of course since he left the airport it had been raining non stop, but for Percy it was refreshing. He had been away from his element for so long both by his own doing and with everything else going on.

He slowed down once he got into the town. He looked at the clock on his screen and saw that it was 12:23. He knew he could stop by his uncles house but decided against it. Percy thought I might as well get my schedule from school and make sure he was signed up for classes. As soon as he parked he got out. He knew he would have to will himself to get wet after all coming into a school looking dry with no umbrella would be unnatural.

Percy quickly flipped his hood up and walked toward the school entrance. As he got close he already started to regret coming at this time. It seemed at though everyone was at lunch and they all stared at him through the windows. As soon as he got in he looked for the front office.

He saw a middle aged woman with long light brown hair and blue eyes eating a sandwich. When she heard the door open she looked up and wiped her mouth with a napkin. She looked up at him with a smile "how can I help you?" She asked. Percy took his good off and gave her a small smile. "Hey, I'm here to get my class schedule. My name is Perseus Jackson." She gave a small nod. "Yes of course let me get that for you. It will take just a second to print out for you" Percy emailed and sat down on a chair.

After a couple minutes the lady walked back to the front desk and Percy quickly got up. "Here you are, dear. Sorry for the wait. Here is your class schedule" the lady said while holding out the paper. Percy grabbed the paper "Thank you. Oh and sorry for interrupting your lunch". The lady gave a small smile "don't worry about it! Have a good day now!"

As Percy exited the office building he was finally able to get a good look at his schedule.

First period : Chemistry no

Second period: world history

Third period : biology

Break: Lunch

Fourth period: health

Fifth period: Gym

Sixth period: Calculas

Just as Percy finished reading his schedule the bell rang. People were flooding out from the lunch room and he already saw that everyone there was staring at him. He quickly walked out the front door and back into the rain. He hated the feeling of being watched and would do anything g to avoid the attention. He decided to wait outside for a few minutes and go to class late.

Percy was already starting to feel fidgety and anxious. The rain had a calming effect on him though. His sweatshirt was soaked but he really couldn't have cared less. His hair was completely soaked and pressed against his face. He saw no one in the hallways and made his way inside.

He knew that it was fourth period so he had health. When he walked back inside he took of his hoodie and grabbed his paper from his back jeans pocket. Percy swept his hair back with his right hand to get it out of his eyes. He quickly made his way to to room 109 which was the heath room.

He saw the teacher had already began and Percy was thankful for that. He walked in with his sweatshirt in his left hand. The teacher turned around to see what his students were looking at. Percy walked up to the teacher "How can I help you" the man asked. "My schedule said im in your health class" he stated. In all honesty Percy just wanted to go and sit somewhere and be forgotten about like in any of his other schools. "Mr. Jackson, I see you just transferred here. I would like to welcome you to forks! You can have a seat in the back, you'll be between Angela and Rosalie". Percy nodded before quickly making his way to the back.

As he sat at his desk he saw the girl to his left with blond hair stare at him. When he looked back she flinched and turned away. He looked to his right and saw the girl in glasses with black hair paying attention to the teacher. Percy was wondering if he'd be able to recognize his cousin at all or if she changed to the point she would no longer be recognizable to him.

Percy leaned back in his desk and looked towards the front. Unfortunately for him he was too distracted to pay any attention to the lesson making for a long studying night. Before he knew it the bell rang and it was time for his next class. At least this was one class he could enjoy somewhat. For such a small school there were lots of kids in attendance. Percy quickly made it to the guys locker room. He saw the gym coach in his office so he went and knocked on the door.

The coach waved him in and he opened the door. "Hey can I please get the gym uniform?" He asked. The teacher nodded, "yea of course. My name is Mr. Matthews. What size can I get for you?" He asked in a gruff voice. "medium if your able" Percy said. Mr. Matthews nodded and stood up from his chair and went to a locker in the corner of the room. He opened it up and dogged through the shirts and shorts before he found some and tossed it to Percy.

He caught the uniform with ease and went to leave before Mr. Mathew's stopped him. "What's your name kid?" He asked. "Percy Jackson Sir" the teacher nodded before looking back at his computer.

After Percy changed he went to the gym and saw that everyone was running laps around the gym. Percy stayed towards the back to make sure he didn't draw any attention to himself. That day happened to be dodgeball which was easy enough to blend in with. To be honest he was already tired of gym and just wanted to leave school all together, the only thing keeping him in school was his promise to his mom. He couldn't let her down again.

While he was playing he felt like someone was watching him. Percy looked to his left side and saw the blond girl from the class before him staring at him. As soon as he looked back at her she looked away. Percy was guessing like everyone else she was just wondering who he was so he shrugged it off. Soon enough the coach blew his whistle and it was Time to go to the locker room and change.

After changing Percy went to go to his next class but everyone was constantly watching him. He quickly picked up his pace and headed to his last class of the day, eager to finish and leave. The nice thing about his last class was there was no reading. It was all numbers but the downside was he hadn't gone to school in so long that it was hard for him to figure it out. The last thing he learned in school was pre algebra, so he missed a few subjects to say the least.

The class overall wasn't to bad but he was thankful when he heard the bell ring. The last thing any demigod wanted was attention good or bad if you had enough experience. Throughout the day Percy wasn't able to find his cousin but opted to just meet her at his uncles since he was getting uncomfortable from all the prying eyes. When he reaches the door to leave he saw that it was pouring outside but it didn't bother him much. When he went to leave he heard someone move behind him.

Percy reacted without even thinking, his reflexes getting the better of him. He spun around quickly and grabbed the person wrist with both his hands. He had a tight grip incase they were attacking. However as soon as he did this he saw he attacked. A shorter female, around 5'4-5'5. Long brunette almost light black hair, about the same age as him and pale skin. He could see she was shocked but him even more so.

It got deathly quiet in the school he could feel people's eyes boring into him. Percy was starting to panic but the young woman talked before he could "Percy?" She asked. He saw someone coming at him. He didn't get a good look considering he was starting at the woman but thankfully she was able to stop him before he could do anything more.

"Edward, stop, it's fine just a misunderstanding" Bella stated to the guy now standing right in Percy's face. He only took one step back but stood his ground. Percy let go of the woman and quickly step back. "Long time no see Bella" Percy whispered looking down. These were the times Percy hated who he was. He knew that's wasn't a normal reaction but after what he'd been through... well it was the only reason he was still alive today.

His mom had shown him a picture of Bella and Charlie but it was still weird to see her. He saw photos every once in a while but with how busy he'd been with his dads side of the family he didn't have much time to worry about his moms. He could see how they were related with the hair and some of the sharp features she had. "Why didn't you tell me you were here?" She asked. Percy looked up and saw people still watching, he just wanted to leave. "I just got in and I wanted to make sure everything was set up for me. I didn't want to bother you at school" he said quietly.

"listen Bella I'm happy to see you but there's some things I need to take care of. I'll be at uncle Charlie's in 2-3 hours. I'm... I'm really sorry about what happened" he said. Before even waiting for her to reply he left the building, and the school altogether not bothering to look back. Behind him his cousin watching him leave with concern filled eyes.
