I made my way through the deserted streets, the path becoming increasingly difficult as I had to avoid the multiple barriers at each barricade.

But something indicated that I was not the only one following these alternative routes, it was the marks of the human symbol with which they recognized the wavelength, which were on the shady walls and in the narrow paths hidden with multiple objects that appeared to be garbage.

Aluminum sheets for roofing, boxes, everything revealed an open fence, a complicated ladder to climb, but it led to alleys where overwatch did not keep an eye on.

I was still trying to digest what had happened today. All this waiting time had been worth it, I had been underestimated. Civil protection was not a worthy opponent in combat.

"Attention ground units: Containment breach, anti-civil activity in progress, withdraw from your position and go to the aid in sector J2. Code; Assemble, administer, pacify."

The apathetic voice of civil surveillance had just given an indication of why civil protection was so absent in these parts.

But it wasn't just the lack of physical civil protection, but also the scarce presence of civilians.

The shortcuts were useful, but they always led to the big streets where the echoes of the combines present in the distance could be heard.

I was cautious when I heard the sound of some civil protection machinery behind me.

I hid in the shadows at the entrance of a place that, in my opinion, was no different from most of the places I knew.

It was not one, but several vehicles advancing with boldness. They weren't playing around.

And neither was I.

"Attention ground units: Sector J2 in critical condition, status; Red alert. Collaboration request reiterated, abandon your posts to contain the emergency situation immediately. Code of prosecution; Duty. Sword. Operate."

My mind kept repeating "Sector J2" with the hope of finding Jorge, Mike, and Oxana.

I guided myself to the aforementioned sector through the different signs indicating the place. Civil protection didn't wait long, but they didn't seem to be concerned about my escape, but rather about controlling the situation.

What was so important to leave me in the background?

Things were different here, civil protection was using firearms, and it could be heard coming from the interior of a huge place whose plasma barriers were deactivated, in addition to the armored personnel carriers positioned at the main entrance, which I had to avoid carefully.

I entered through the emergency exit, the red lights were on and the image inside was shocking.

Civilians and civil protection members were lying on the ground, the walls filled with bullets in each of its rooms.

It was complicated to distinguish who had won in this battle, but I supposed they had already escaped from this place, whatever it was.

But I would not leave until I knew more about what was going on.
