Disclaimer: I'm just playing on their swing set.

Kate looked at the phone on her desk. It's the right thing to do. Legally I need to contact him, but…. Can I control myself? He's… aggravating, but on the other hand, he's handsome, and he can write. Pick up the phone and dial, Kate!

She grabbed the receiver and dialed.

"Hello, Mr. Castle, this….."

"Detective Beckett!" He cut her off; "I wondered when you'd call. What do you need?"

"We need to go over everything for the trial; you need to set up an appointment to meet with your lawyer, and we'll get in touch with him or her as well to provide the evidence. And believe me; we're going to make Cooper pay. Nobody should lose their mother as a baby."

"I completely agree; it was practically over for Meredith and I, but at least we tried ot make it work for Alexis until she cheated on me with that … you get the picture."

"Yah, I do. Stay in touch." She placed he receiver back in the cradle.

"Who was that, darling?" Martha asked.

"You know who. "

"Ah." Martha responded. "What did she want?"

"I need to get in touch with my lawyer before the trial. " He paused for a minute. "And we need to find a permanent place to live. She might be able to help us."

"Did she offer?"

"No, not exactly, but I bet she would."

"Don't assume anything, Richard."

Hmmm, another loft? Somewhere with a yard might be better. And Kate knows something about that…. Would she agree to help? He thought.
