So I've been gone for a super long time... The last time this story was updated was almost a year ago (crazy, I know), but the unfinished nature of all this has made me pretty guilty. So, this is me aiming to finish this once and for all. I'm honestly not quite sure whether I'm going to keep writing on here after I finish this story up, but we'll see.

I also read the actual 7th MDBC, so if anyone wants to chat about that in a review, feel free! I have a lot of opinions on the Trassidy debacle that I'd love to share.

Becca

I lean my head on the window and look out at the dark night sky above the Hong Kong airport. The buildings loom ominously in the distance, and I let out a sigh.

"I'm going to miss this place." Megan shifts in her seat, adjusting the angle of her sketchbook so she can draw in a ruffle on a skirt properly.

"Yeah," I say. "It seems like just yesterday that Gigi was telling us about Hong Kong and the fashion show. It's unreal how much we've done since then."

There's a small jolt as the plane starts to taxi onto the runway, and I'm once again reminded of the beauty of Hong Kong as I see the glittering lights of the city along the skyline.

I know that all of us have changed on this trip, matured, realized who we want and wanted to be. I think about Cassidy, who's considering modeling, but ultimately values hockey and college over following in her mother's footsteps.

I think about Emma, who's come into her own and can wear a floor length gown and heels without blushing - in fact, she rocks everything she wears. Not to mention, the previous bookworm in her still flourishes. I wasn't the only one who teased her for reading Northanger Abbey during our breaks at the show.

And Jess, who's far from the shy girl that she used to be. She's ambitious and diligent and amazingly smart, and yet, she remains humble and gracious to everyone she meets.

Megan's come so far from her first fashion show too, and she's mastered the art of talking to hundreds of people in one night and knowing every single one of their names without missing a beat. She's the youngest in a room full of middle aged men and women every night, and yet she still manages to make everyone laugh while bringing her infectious energy into any conversation.

And then there's me.

Goodbye to the selfish, rude Becca who would put people down because she was insecure about herself. I'm surrounded by an amazing group of friends and family, better than anyone could wish for.

This entire experience has been enlightening and beautiful and everything I could ever hope for.

Goodbye Hong Kong, we'll see you again soon.

The plane ride continues without any other interesting developments - I listen to Megan's soft snoring and drift off a few times as well, as the jet lag and general exhaustion kick in.

As we begin to land in Boston, I look outside the window one last time, trying to catch a glimpse of the glittering lights that are half a world away.

The trip towards baggage claim is short and sweet, and as we exit the airport, we hear the loud whooping of overexcited family members.

All of our dads are there, along with Chloe and Courtney and every other family member. The Delaney's large van is waiting to take us all home, as well as Mr. Wong's SUV and some of the other family cars.

I can see Emma craning her neck to check if Stewart showed up, but unfortunately for her, it seems like my brother couldn't make this particular trip.

We all cram into the cars, laughing as legs are tangled together and suitcases are stuffed into car trunks, pushing the Delaney brothers together in the backseat.

I can hear Jess laugh as she argues with her brothers and attempts to avoid being hit by a precariously placed suitcase. There's a sigh of defeat as their vivaciousness proves to be too much.

Coming back to the slow reality of Concord is harder for some of us. I know Cassidy is still uncomfortable about Zach and their friendship, if it even is that.

Megan misses her fashion label friends and the business of preparing for a fashion show. Heck, I miss being able to slip into designer dresses and heels, pretending for a moment that nothing exists but the admiring crowd and me.

It's late, almost midnight, and I drift off to sleep.

This the short and sweet ending to a project that I've loved a lot. If you've read, reviewed, or followed my story, thank you! It's meant the world to me to be able to write about characters that I've appreciated so much. As I said before, whether I continue writing or not is up in the air at the moment, but I'm immensely proud and grateful for everyone's support and feedback.

Until next time,

Britt
