Friday night lights, football in the mud, this is the way it's supposed to be played. Magnus loves playing in the mud, and it's an annual tradition for Storybrooke football players. Everyone dug the entire field to get rid of the grasses near the beach, but not too close because of all the sand. The forest on one side is a perfect cover for the shade and the cool weather. We waited for a rainy day and the day has come.

We invited everyone, it's a festival for the students but everyone is invited to watch the game. I ordered shirts for four teams, and we worked hard to create eleven players per team. We had sixteen extra players for practice as a backup, but 11 top players. So luckily we had enough people signing up to create four teams, I was amazed to find out how big this town is.

On the very morning, before the sun rises, we added wooden bleachers, four rows and two bleachers, one on opposite side. We put hose around the square to keep the ground wet and Robert watered one more time on the ground to make it mudder and slippery.

The football players were the first to arrive with four large orange sideline coolers filled with orange gatorlyte. They changed shirts according to their team, red, blue, green and black, and I am in the colored red team. There are four long benches near the field, one on each side, and so one coolers on each bench for their team, and they will bring extras.

Magnus was enthusiastic and eager, so ready to kill them all. He shook hands with his team and discuss their plays, they are playing against the green team first then black and blue teams. He smiles when Mary Margaret arrived, sitting on the second row on the bleachers on the right side. I see more and more people from the town coming to watch us play, bringing blankets to keep them warm, food and drinks. However, no Henry and no Regina yet.

None of the players have shoes on our feet, just shorts and colored shirt. I fell onto the mud and slips so many times that I lost count. I only caught the ball twice, but none of us made to the touchdown. This is why we love football in a mud, it's challenging and requires a great skill and balance. There's no coaches around for that matter except probably watching us, but I am not paying attention except the ball front of me.

Henry wanted to watch dad play the game, but because Regina has been keeping Henry away from the Charmings for his safety and doesn't want him in the middle of all of the drama anymore that would cause him harm. Regina thought of cheering him up with brand new game portable controller and ice cream. Eventually, she gave in and allows him to watch the game but must stay with either grandma or grandpa. She dialed their number to make sure to look after Henry tonight.

Henry rushes over to the students' festival then Mary Margaret waved at Henry to sit beside him. "Where is he?"

"I don't know," the players are playing under the stars with no lights and all she's seeing so many fights, slippering and ball catching, "so far I have seen only two touchdowns, but that's two teams … Man, they hit hard," she whispers to herself but to Henry to listen because thing there is so loud. Loud booming music in the background, and everyone shouting and yelling at the players.

Henry was lost how the game is played, "so who's winning?"

Mary Margaret honesty does not know when she turns to him, "I have to say I don't know, Henry. They have a scorer on the field, so they announce the scores after each game. As far as we know, red team won, and now the blue and black team are playing."

Henry searches for dad on the field but it was too dark, "so he's in red team?"

"Yes, Henry," she replied.

Henry redirected to the red team on further left, sees horrible looking men on the bench waiting. Mud all over them, bloody looks and one guy is pouring water all over his face. "Can't see them!"

Magnus sat on the bench, waiting for their turn. They hit hard and fast, and we had to keep offense against their team. We only scored once in the entire game and we got into fights in who knows how many times, so many disagreements how we move the line and scored touchdown. He felt bruises and maybe some ribs cracked on the right side, one of their guys were huge, I mean fucking HUGE. I almost couldn't breathe when he hit me in the stomach and the ribs. Most people have left home and only few remains with us, there's one more game after this, whoever wins this game goes against our team. So, I must press on and keep focusing no matter how much pain I am in and knows he's going to Regina immediately after this.

I smiles when I saw Henry running up the steps to Mary Margaret, looks like he convinced Regina to watch me for a little bit before bed. I watered my face again, mud and sweat, and I swore I swallowed some mud when I fell face down. We gathered together when the game was almost over, we set time 30 min, seven minutes each, and split into four, so we can have at least two minutes breaks in-between. Now they are at the last part of seven minutes, so far, no touchdowns, so might have to have extra seven to the death.

Unexpected, everyone was cheering, and jumping on the field, the blue team won by a sear luck. They crossed the line but only barely, their hand reaches the white line at the very last seconds of the game. Robert and Christian come up to me to ask permission to have a twenty-minute break and I agreed so the blue team can rest before the last game for the night. The some of the players from the green and black team went home. It's way pass midnight, I asked one of the people who were sitting, "hey, what's time is it?" they looked at their phone and looked up to me, "three after 15."

Oh fuck, okay, I thanked her and looked up to search for Mary Margaret and Henry, but it looks like they went home already. We are the last here, it's quiet, beautiful stars above us and cool weather. The perfect night, the best night I ever had to play with my guys. We kept laughing and cheering each other, talking about women and pretty much anything bullshits.

Where's the beers, Magnus wondered, he got up and went over to Robert and Christian to order them to get beers for everyone for the last name. Every store is closed but not Rabbit Hole, "go to Rabbit Hole," grabbing my wallet, a dirty wallet actually, to give them couple of hundred bills. The first half of the game has started, let's do this while they went to get beers.

I didn't even run, I caught the ball from the quarterback, and I was bumped and fell onto the ground, fuck. My team slaps my face to get my head in the game. For the next fifteen minutes, no touchdowns, and we didn't move up but only 5 which is nothing. They are good, fuck, a very strong offense, fuck.

Our quarterback is furious with us, yelling at us while we on our break and that we are the "real football players," so there were no excuses because we are losing against regular players. It took four of our men to knock one of their guys down with the ball in their hands. The mud got more slippery than before, and harder to keep our ground firm, but it's the mud that's dragging us down. The mud all over us and dried up, makes it harder to run faster.

Five minutes left in the game, panting and sweating, like a dog. Everyone drunk like four bottles of beers, each or maybe more, so we are drunk playing at the last minutes of the game. I don't know how we won the game, but it was exactly fifteen seconds left in the game, and Andrew had the ball in his hand, slips out three times, all the guys kept falling down, because all of the alcohol are getting in our heads.

Everyone else left except us, drinking the last pack of beers and couldn't believe we won the game, it's more of a sear luck than our skills that's for sure. I sat on the muddy ground, and the guys slaps my shoulder to let me know they are leaving. It must be like five a.m. in the morning. I need the water off; I turns to talk to my teammate, but everyone left. This is the moment I felt sore and pain all over my body as I got up from the ground, oh fuck. I drunk another beer for courage, just to walk to the edge to turn off the water.

No one has heard from Magnus, the quarterback of Storybrooke University called Regina to make sure Magnus' okay because he wasn't answering his calls. Regina picked up the phone, "Mayor Mills, who am I have the pleasure speaking with?"

"Mayor Mills, this is Robert, the quarterback, ma'am."

"Robert, is there the reason for the call?" Regina looked at the time, it's after six in the morning, puzzled by the strange call.

"Is Magnus with you? I tried calling his phone and there was no ring on the other line."

My body shook up from the bed by the name of Magnus, "thank you for informing me," she hurriedly hanged up and dialed Mary Margaret if she has seen him, but she answered that she left while they were playing, around midnight she believes, so he' isn't with them. Regina was about to call Magnus but someone else called her, ringing, "yes?"

"Mayor Mills, I found Mr. Magnus and he is in … unstable condition."

He must've passed out on the field, so I heavily sigh and wondered why Emma and Magnus always in a such a mess, always coming home dirty or doing something dangerous. I composed myself to inform the other person to bring Magnus here and I took day off. She remembered Henry, what is he going to do with Henry and how he's going to explain this.

However, my first question is how the hell did they know about me and our unique relationship, well it is not a relationship, but I suppose our unique bond. Lately, he has grown to depend on me and it's a step but a very small one when he doesn't believe in Henry or myself yet.

The boys were kind enough to clean Magnus from the mud and his clothes off before stepping into my house then carried up to my bed. He looked like a mess, dark purple bruises on his face and body. I was forced to partly shaved his face so I can clean him and put special ointment on him. "Magnus," lightly onto his face, hoping he'll wake up. I suppose the alcohol and the pain got into his head caused him to pass out. Nothing I can do but wait until he wakes up, so I stayed besides him. Henry is on the floor reading comic books and partly doing his homework, but he prefers books and comics over anything.

I called the doctor and requested he comes by to check on Magnus. Regina looks down at Henry, "Henry." Henry looks up to me with concern on his face, "you'll have to stay with grandparents today."

"No, I want stay with dad."

"I'll call you once he wakes up, Henry," she didn't want Henry to see dad like this and know about their unique relationship. As far Henry knows, he thinks we are friends and nothing more. I would like to keep it that way until the curse breaks. Henry still refuses to leave his side, so he made me to promise him that I'll call him then finally agreed to stay, but he wants to stay with Granny instead.

The doctor checks on him and he has cracked ribs and there was pressure on his stomach that makes him that couldn't breathe too well. He brought large elastic wrap and wrapped around over his ribs to prevent swelling and blood vessels from leaking. We heard him groaning in pain when we moved him. The doctor gave me prescription for his pain and told me to make sure he comes in when he's awake.

As soon the doctor departed, I grabbed ice compression pack to press on his wounds, but it wasn't enough. It's good enough for now. I tried again, "Magnus. Magnus," running my fingers through his hair. I thankfully sigh when he slowly opening his eyes, "Magnus."

He whimpers and groans in pain on the bed, and I kept my hands on his face and his hair. His voice was soft and rusty from the mud, and so I shook my head, "shh, save your voice." I grabbed the glass of water on the nightstand to give him a drink, "easy, easy," he was about to drink it until empty. He fell back asleep, luckily, I add the strong pain medicine that the doctor gave me, and I mixed it with water. I'm glad the medicine is strong enough to keep him sleepy.

Throughout the day, he has been waking and sleeping back and forth. Hern was disappointed but worried as well, he wanted to see or at least talk to him before bed. It took a while but he retreated to his bedroom after eating dinner.

Magnus slowly woke up, groans in pain, and his voice was rough, "Re …," he held his ribs and leans on the wall for balance. He felt like he's going to fall again, trying again to call out Regina, "Re … Gina?" His voice wasn't loud enough, and it sounded like a wounded man talking. He looks around to see which room he's in, okay, he's in Regina's room. How the fuck he gets here or why is he here instead of hospital?

"Hey, go back to bed, honey," Regina carefully held him before he was about to fall again. Magnus tries not to sound like a wounded animal, but complied to Regina's request as she helped him back to bed. "What happened," in a very slow soft voice, asked by Magnus while Regina was giving him glass of water to for his thirst.

"I don't know, you tell me, honey," it looked like he was beaten up or hit by a large truck. Magnus doesn't seem to remember, "I was playing football in a mud, and it got heated at some point." Regina was cleaning his wounds and putting ointment on his again while listening to him. "Shhh, try not to talk," I could hear his voice that it was hard from him to talk. I laughed when he made a light joke implicating his naked body under thick warm covers, "is that only thing you noticed about me?"

"Your friends took off your clothes and cleans the mud off of your body, so only thing you had was a clean underwear in your bag."

"Re … Gina, it's not what you think."

"Oh," continues cleaning and rubbing his bruises, "I assure you that you have no idea what I am thinking right now. You told your friends about us when I got the call from your friends."

"It's not like that, … Gina?"

I shook my head to quiet him because I want him to get better first, "we'll talk about this another time."

Magnus was about to follow Regina to the kitchen, so she turns the moment he tried to get off the bed, "I'll be right back," helps him back onto the bed. Regina prepared a chicken soup for Magnus; it has to be liquid and soft for him to swallow with his weak stomach and cracked ribs. Magnus hated to be alone, so he fought to get up so he can be with Regina. "Gina?"

Regina sighs again, "Magnus, I said stay in bed," she set the bowl nearby dresser in her room and returns out of the room to grab Magnus, "come on, honey." She notices his discomfort in himself and trying to get himself comfortable when he kept looking down at my breasts. I'm wearing a black silk pajamas and yet it's making him hot. I continue feeling him soup then he asked why he feels so hot and horny. He made another light joke, "I plain to take full advantage of your body soon."

"it's your testosterone and adrenaline that spikes when you fight and play active games, so the cortisol is released from stress, and now your body and mind yearn for closeness," Regina feeding slowly and explaining why he feels discomfort in himself. Regina cleans the bowl in the kitchen then hurried back to Magnus before he gets up, growing attach with Regina, so it seems.

"Gina?" Magnus slowly sits up on the bed, feeling anxious to be separated from Regina. What's the fuck going on with me lately. All I want today is to be close with Regina and actively seeking comfort from her as if she's my breath of air. Regina nudges me again to pull me out of my thoughts, "Magnus?" Regina crawls into bed besides Magnus, very cautiously so she doesn't harm him in anyway. Magnus' hands were all over on her body, and Regina looks down to his nearly hard cock, and doesn't know how to relive tension for him when he still injury and having hard time breathing due to his cracked ribs.

"Easy, easy," Regina warns him, doesn't want to give him more injury than he already has. Magnus fought with himself to keep calm, so Regina presses her lips carefully and slowly on his, exploring dancing together. Magnus nods after we stopped kissing, "okay, but I hold you to that." Regina smirks at him, "you wouldn't be able to handle me."

It was the longest and slowest day of my life, the doctor ordered bed rest and I didn't want to be at the dorm, so I stayed with Regina to be in the most comfortable bed in the world. It's my first time to call this house a home, Henry much to his delight is enjoying me being here. The doctor got me asthma to help me breathe, however, the mood of Regina was short lived because my guys visited me, knocking on the door. Regina was not pleased and shot me a look, a look that no one messes her things, no one touches her things, or she'll blow me up then a look saying to get rid of them or I'll kill you.

They brought pizza, and I took two, and I found out why I was passed out, it was one of the big guys on the green team, Mike was his name, I guess he didn't take the lost too well. The alcohol was already in my head, so I supposed one blow did the work, but why kept hitting me. They took care of it, and I was puzzled by that, "what do you mean?"

"He won't bother you anymore," Hunter gave a vague answer, so I pressed him to tell me what's going on. "We taught him a lesson," no one messes with our guys. We are brothers, and we get each other's back but, in this case, I hope they didn't harm him … not too badly. Knowing the guys, they probably beat him up to a pulp and left him in the muddy field somewhere. I need to call David to check on Mike after they get home.

I chuckled softly when they were acting as if I was fucking and things to the Mayor, and they were being nosy at her things in the drawers. "It's not like that," was my answer. I told them to leave her things alone, then gave an ooo sounds that my underwear and some of my clothes were one of the drawers has been found. "Our boy is in love," one of the guys says, kept teasing and I rolled my eyes. Regina appears at the door then everyone was quiet, "I would appreciate you will give Mr. Magnus some rest," requesting the guys to leave her room.

"See you at the game next week," Hunter points at me and the guys playfully pushes me. "All right, all right," Magnus nods and laughs, "thank you for coming."

I slowly got up and Regina helps me when I silently groans when I moved the ribs on the side, looking for my phone, "where's my phone?" I was reminded that I didn't have my phone with me. I have forgotten that my phone is broke from the game and Mike must've broken my phone, "oh, that's right," looks up to Regina, so beautiful. Her hair and her smooth skin, to see her in this way, is breathtaking, I took a moment to breathe in her beauty then refocused what I needed to do, "you'll have to call David to check on Mike."

"Why?" I sat on the couch in her office to be close by while she works when she asked the reason for the call. I replied, "I'm afraid what the guys did to Mike at the field. He's the one that …" didn't say anymore because it was point clear. Regina understood and dials Sheriff David and I listened to their call, but he wanted to talk to me. I whispered, "I don't want talk to him," I really don't want talk to him. He went against to my woman, against the Mayor then lied behind my back.

I guess it all it takes, for me to be injury to be around Regina and watching her taking care of me, and I find it incredible but strange at the same time. I don't know how she finds it in her to forgive me and she opens her arms to me with no questions asked, no matter how many times I been with women, my stupidity and asshole moments.

She's unbelievable person and a mother to Henry, always so sweet to Henry and showing affections with him. It got me lost for words, she's extraordinary in fact. I don't know why I'm like this and she's … you know, Regina Mills. I was so deep in thought that I didn't hear Regina and Henry trying to talk to me at the dinner table, and my eyes crossed for a moment, "what now?"

Regina was worried about me and asked what Henry was trying to tell me, "Henry wants to know if you want to watch movie with us."

"Oh yeah, that sounds fine," I quickly nod, and playing with my food. Regina was growing more concern with me, and tilts to Henry, "Henry, why don't you go and put the dishes away? We'll be with you in a moment." Regina waited until he finishes grabbing the plates and went to the kitchen, then she put her hands on mine to stop me from playing with my food, "what's wrong, Magnus?"

Magnus heavily sighs and disappointed with himself, "I wasn't thanking you for taking care of me. I'm a dumb piece of a shit."

"Listen to me, Magnus," Regina caress on the top of my hands in a firm voice, "you're not stupid. I won't have it in this house, so that's enough." Magnus didn't say a word but nods with barely a whisper, 'okay.' Regina asked again, "what's going on, honey?"

"Nothing," he didn't want to discuss it with Regina and thought of Henry, "Henry waiting for us."

"What movie are we gonna watch?" Magnus asked Henry in the entertainment room.

Henry beams the biggest smile on his face with his teeth story, "Harry Potter!"

"Again, Henry?" Magnus groans as he sat on the couch while Henry setting up the movie on the large tv screen, how many times was it, fifth time, I think.

"Come on, it's about a young wizard and his friends, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They were concerns with the conflict with Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to become immortal … and"

"Yeah. yeah, and they will be glad to have you," mocks by Magnus.

"Muggles." Henry loves to read the series of Harry Potter and wants to watch over and over. He loves the world of adventure, magic and … according to Henry, muggles. He borrows from the library and there wasn't a bookstore where he can buy books. That reminds me to look for Harry Potter series for Henry's birthday online. Although, it was a good night, Henry sits between Regina and I, snuggles under think blanket and my arms over Henry to reach Regina's hair and shoulder. We watched the movie until Henry falls asleep half through the movie, then decided to finish it together.
