David called me when I was walking back to my car from bed and breakfast, I looked at the clock, it's pass four in the morning, I puzzled his reason of his late call. I answer, "yeah David?"

"Mayor Mills come tonight and inform us that Kathryn, Jim's wife is missing for twenty-fours. I'm calling all deputies to search for her."

"Where is she last seen?"

"She was driving out of Storybrooke and crashes her car near the sign. There already two deputies searching in the forest."

"Did you check her phone records? Why was she leaving Storybrooke?"

"School in Boston and the last person she called …"

I hear her sighing, heavier, sounds like he's worried about something while walking over to the office, "what, David? Who's the last person she called?!"

"I'm the last person she called and as for today, according to the law, I'm not the Sheriff. Sheriff Magnus."

Oh fuck, running to the Sheriff's office and saw David in prison, "what's the fuck, David?" Mayor Mills stood up and showed me her phone records, D. Nolan was listed on the top indicting he's the last person he called, "what?"

"Do your job, Sheriff Magnus," gave me my badge back, great. "Are all my deputies out searching?" I shot David a look and he shook his head, "Only Deputy Ashton and Callahan."

I dialed two other deputies, Davis and Newport, and ordered them out right now and start searching for Kathryn.

What was the evidence that pointed out to David Nolan besides her phone records, I search for his files and it all points to him. He was out driving around as usual, protecting Storybrooke, alone, "there's no one else to verify you?"

David sat at my desk, "no, Sheriff Magnus."

"You know how bad this looks, your ex-wife is missing, and you are in love another woman, whom she was in coma for years. And …" he shows him her phone records, "there's unexplained phone call."

"I know. I know. I can't explain why it says that, but I didn't make the call. I haven't talked to her since the divorce. What about Jim?"

"I'm looking into him right now, for time being, you're staying in the cell."

"I didn't do anything to Kathryn, Magnus. I swear."

Magnus didn't know what to believe, "I'm good at spotting a liar, but liars have better material."

Magnus knocked at Mary Margaret door to ask some questions about Kathryn and David, "yes," Mary answers in her cherry voice then puzzled it was me with my Sheriff's badge, "Magnus, what's going on? Where's David?"

"Can I come in? Please?"

Mary Margaret welcomed him in and gave him hot cocoa, "where were you last night between 7 to 8 p.m.?"

"I was here, grading my papers and David was at work last night. Is David okay?"

I drank my hot cocoa and continues asking questions without answering hers, "what was he doing last night during the time you called him?"

"Magnus, what's going on?" Mary Margaret increasingly freaking out and worried for David and the seriousness of my questions then inhales again, "Kathryn is missing, Mary Margaret. She had a crash and there was a scene where she's trying to run. David was the last person she called," and the rest was clear where David is right now.

"So, he's … in trouble?"

"All I am saying is you need get a lawyer and cooperate with me if you want to help David."

"Okay, umm," she's shaken up and reorganized her thoughts about what happened last night, "ummm … I called him before he left the office and he said he was just going to check around the town. That's the last I heard from him."

"Any word from Kathryn? Did you call Boston?"

I looked up, puzzled by this information and I most certainly didn't tell her about this, so this means she knew about this, and Jim was uncounted for when I checked his house, "you know about Boston?"

"Yes, she called me to let me know that they are going to Boston. Where's Jim?"

"They were going to Boston together?"

"Yes, Magnus. Did you call Boston?!" Mary Margaret asked me again.

"She's not there, Mary Margaret. She never showed up."

"So, we have no idea what happened to them?"

"All I know is David was her last call and Jim didn't have cellphone at that time of the car crash then they disappeared."

"David didn't do this, Magnus."

"I am just preparing you for what everyone else will think. You both are going to look bad until we find out the truth. Until then, all the evidence points to David."

"You mean they think we want to be free together, so in order to do that, we …," didn't want to say the rest.

"Some are, but David is not doing himself a favor. So, if there's anything you can think of to verify his whereabouts and his mysterious phone call last night."

"I was here, Magnus. I was working, grading papers," pointing at the papers on the desk, "we didn't do this, Magnus!"

"I know you didn't," I held her hands, "we will figure this out, but I suggest you get a lawyer."

Magnus felt bad for pressing the questions onto her, now she's shaken and freaking out. "I'm sorry, Mary Margaret," whispering to himself. Now we know Jim was with her or something happen to Jim before the event of the crash. I was walking towards the diner and noticed Ruby, talking to August, flirting with him in fact.

"Where are you headed?" Magnus heard him ask while he was walking closer.

"Sheriff Magnus, hello, there," he awkwardly about to leave the scene and my posture straighten, "I should go then."

"Yes, you should," holding my gun on my belt and shot him a look that he needs to leave Ruby alone. We waited and watched him walking away then I turn to Ruby, "are you okay, Ruby? Was he bothering you?"

"No, the day I can't handle a letch is the day I leave town."

"You're leaving?"

Ruby held on to her suitcase, "I had fight with Granny and quit my job."

"Where are you going?"

"I don't know," Ruby just wanted to leave with no destination in mind.

"Ruby, you know that buses out of town doesn't happen in this town," he thought of what to do to help Ruby, "well you know, if you need place to figure things out, you can always come with me."

Ruby wasn't sure, "I'm not one of your women or whatever you're trying to do."

"No, no, I'm just trying to help out," telling her to follow him to Sheriff's office, "just a little awhile." Ruby chuckles, very happy to have a place to stay temporarily while following him.

Mary Margaret held her umbrella, searching for any evidence, proof that it wasn't David as she walks through the forest, from window pieces all over the ground and down to the forest.

Sheriff Magnus has to call his coach and the professors for time off since he's the Sheriff and all his time is at the office to find out the truth about Kathryn and Jim. Ruby and Henry sitting at the desk in the middle, searching for job for Ruby while Ruby answering calls, non-emergency calls in fact. He stopped and watched her, "Sheriff's station, how can I help you?" Ruby had a calming voice when she answers the other line, "Hmmm, Mm mm, I'll have Sheriff Magnus return to you," then about to hang up to answer another call, "Thank you, you too."

She did great job at this, still listening to her talking to Ms. Ginger, "Sheriff's station, hey Ms. Ginger."

"No, that's not a prowler. That's Archie dog, Pongo."

He laughs when she offered to throw vanilla wafer to quiet him down, "do you still want to talk to Sheriff Magnus?"

"Great," she was chuckling, "glad I can help."

He pretended that he just arrived, "Great. Except I can't do anything," was Ruby's reply.

"That's not true. I saw you with that phone and it was good!"

She scuffs, "oh that's nothing."

"No, no it's not. Look, I would like to hire you. We have some in our budget if you want to help out around here."

Ruby excitedly stood up, "yes, yes! Thank you," hugging Magnus, "thank you so much." She rambled how she can be helpful, "I could answer phones and help out. Is there anything else you need done? Organizing files, cleaning up? Please I want to be useful."

"Look, I'm swamped with this Kathryn Nolan thing," and eyed David, "and him. So if you can grab us lunches, I wouldn't say no to a grilled cheese."

"Done," with her biggest smile on her face then down to Henry, "you want anything?"

Magnus stopped him from listing all the food he wants, "he ate at school. And oh," Ruby comes back, "if anyone come looking for me, I'm not here," gave her a look indicating about the women.

Ruby was confused for a moment then realizes what he meant, "ohh … oh, okay, I'll do that."

"Sheriff Magnus," one of the deputies stopped by, "Mary Margaret is in the woods."

"I think something is wrong with her," he continued, and I didn't like the sound of that. I ordered Henry to stay as I ran out of the door to my cop car and roared to the forest.

Ruby bravely went into the diner to order grilled cheese sandwich and Magnus favorites, "I need grilled cheese sandwich, onion rings and the works," she approached Granny, "I'm working at Sheriff's station now like a deputy."

It didn't go well between Granny and Ruby then Ruby was trying to make herself feel better when Granny belittle her, "I help solve crimes."

"I'm sure you do," Granny said.

Ruby held back her tears and there was a woman tapped on her shoulder, "Ruby?"

Ruby turned and didn't know who they were except probably a college student and maybe one of Magnus' women, "can I help you with something?"

"I heard you work at Sheriff station now?"

"Yes," Ruby slowly nods and hesitated for a moment, "is there something you need?"

"Is Sheriff Magnus in? I haven't heard from him in few days," then remembered she was the woman from bed and breakfast like two nights ago. She looked hurt and waving her phone, "he wouldn't … he's not answering my call."

"I'm sorry, ma'am. There was a murder in Storybrooke, and he's swamped with work. He's not even going classes or going football practices." She slowly nods in tears and thanks her then Ruby decided to tell her something else, "hey wait," caught her when she walks out of the door.

"Yes?"

Ruby touches her shoulder for comfort, "you're better off without him, okay? You're an amazing person, I'm sure and he's the one missing out, not you, all right?"

She tearfully chuckling, "yeah okay, thank you, Ruby."

Sheriff Magnus couldn't find Mary Margaret and called her again, but it looks like she's driving back somewhere, I don't know. I called my deputy to check on her while I was driving back to the station. Henry grabbed his backpack and his supplies to go home, "you know, you should let Ruby to do more. She's Little Red Riding Hood. She's your aunt."

"With the little basket? She's my aunt?" he doesn't believe him in one bit, so he laughs it off, "yeah, she sounds like a badass."

"Yes, she is. She doesn't remember. She doesn't know how cool she is or what she's capable of," Henry walking out when Ruby walks in with grilled cheese sandwich and the works.

"Got you grilled cheese sandwich," Ruby set down the food on the desk.

Ruby doesn't seem happy with herself or what's she capable of when he thought of Henry, "okay, let's eat in the car and we are gonna do a little wilderness search. I need your help, let's go."

Ruby believes she's going to screw it up, so she doesn't want to go. Magnus was confidence in Ruby and wanted to show her how much she can do, "no, let's go," carrying the food bag from the diner. "You can do this."

The forest is massive, and Ruby doesn't know how to find a couple, she kept rambling on and on, and Sheriff Magnus says, "shhh. Shhh. We might be able to hear them."

"It's massive!"

"I'm following the path because there's boot prints," Magnus pointed out that they aren't lost and he knows where he's going. Ruby still believes she's going to screw up and make mess of things, but then she stopped, "wait, wait. I hear him."

"Really?" Sheriff Magnus doesn't hear a sound, not even one.

"I hear him or something!" Ruby followed the sounds, ducked the tree branch above her while being followed by Magnus. "He's here!" Ruby ran around the tree and Magnus hurried to see who then it was no other than Jim himself. "Jim! Jim, wake up!" he shakes his jacket and he struggles to open his eyes and there was a deep cut on his forehead.

"Magnus?"

"Do you remember where you are?"

"What? Ruby?" he turns to Ruby then around him, "No … I … what's the hell? Where's my wife?!"

"I was with my wife and … did you bring me here?"

"You don't remember anything since the crash?"

"No," Jim trying to remember the event last night, but doesn't remember nothing.

Sheriff Magnus stood with Jim at the doctor's office when he examines him, "he's bruised, scratched up and dehydrated."

"What about the cut on his head?" Jim sat on the bed, rolling down his sleeves while Magnus questioned the doctor.

Dr. Whale replied, "it's superficial, so it can be either from a crash or he hit it with a rock. I am going to refer him to Dr. Hopper for mental health evaluation."

Sheriff Magnus sighs and rubs on Jim's back, "we will figure this out, all right?"

"It's so strange. I can't believe it happened. We were happy, driving to Boston then out of nowhere there's a crash."

"It's possible he talked to someone, so what are the possible options that caused him to be this way?" Sheriff Magnus tries to explore the possibilities of the reasons behind how he's acting so strange.

"It could be sleep medication or like beta-blockers and do all sort of things such as cooking, driving a car, talking to someone."

"You want to know if I made the call?" Jim redirected to Sheriff Magnus, "or someone else? You want to know if someone kidnapped her? Killed her?!"

"Easy. Easy," Sheriff Magnus tries to calm him down, "no one says something bad happens, Jim. No one says you did something bad."

Regina rushes into the room and ordered Jim to stop talking, "stop talking, Jim." Regina angrily grabs Magnus, "what are you doing here?!"

Sheriff Magnus' eyes widen in surprise then eyes crossed then Regina continues, "why doesn't this man have a lawyer present?" then tilted to Magnus again, "have you read his rights?"

"No, because he's not under arrest. We were just talking," not understanding why she's angry at him. Did he do something wrong? He swore that he heard Mayor Mills silently growls to himself, "Yes, just talking?"

"Did something happen here? What are you doing here?"

"Mayor Mills is Jim's second emergency contact and she's close friend of Kathryn."

Sheriff Magnus had no idea that Mayor Mills is Jim and Kathryn's friend. He only thought that she reported them missing but it looks like he was wrong. Jim didn't know either, "my wife placed you in our emergency contact?"

Regina's arms crossed and her eyes soften when she redirected to Jim, "yes, Jim. Kathryn is currently unavailable and requested me to look after you in case she …"

"In case she dies or kidnapped?"

"We don't know that Jim," then furiously turns to Sheriff Magnus, "and some people haven't found her yet," then leans closer with sneer voice, "stop trying to place blame on someone and find her. Do your job!"

"Well, there's a lot to cover."

"You covered this room and I suggest you branch out," ordering him to leave the room so she can make sure Jim's okay and lawyered up. Sheriff Magnus doesn't know what's going on with Regina, so he shook his head and not understanding the situation, but he begins to walk out of the hospital.
